LEROY GRAHAM -- Funeral services for Leroy "Dickey Roy" Graham, conducted by the Rev. Nathaniel Evans, were held Sat., March 15, 2003, at Faith United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Faith United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Graham, formerly of Kingstree, died Wed., March 5, 2003, at Hospice of North Virginia, Washington, DC. Survivors are: his children, Theresa Clara Whitmyer, Bena Loretta Smith, Blanche Giovania Redmond, Denise V. Graham-Ladson, Leroy Graham, Jr., and Charles I. Graham; his siblings, Icabelle Barr, Mamie Thornton, Bena Nicholson, LouLesse Sellers and Ishamael R. Graham; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

CHARLES MUSSELWHITE -- Charles J. Musselwhite, 64, widower of Willene Harrington Musselwhite, died Sat., March 15, 2003, in a Florence hospital. Funeral services were held Mon., March 17, 2003, at Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mr. Musselwhite was born in Dillon County, a son of the late Charlie Lester and Annie Louise Jackson Musselwhite. He was a graduate of Dillon County schools and the SC Criminal Justice Academy. He was a retired state trooper, having served in Richland and Williamsburg Counties. Mr. Musselwhite was a Mason and a member of the Omar Shrine Temple. Survivors are: two daughters, Melanie M. Brown and Carla M. Hyatt, both of Florencee; one step-daughter, Angela White of Sumter; one brother, Aaron Musselwhite of Dillon; two sisters, Betty Molnar of Darlington; and JoAnn Morrow of Kentucky; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children Hospital in Greenville.

TYRO WILLIAMS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Tyro Everlyn Williams, conducted by the Rev. Frank James, were held Thurs., May 1, 2003, at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard cemetery. Mrs. Williams, 79, died April 26, 2003, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. She was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Sam Brown and Mary McClary Brown. She was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was formerly employed as a cook. Mrs. Williams was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she was a United Methodist Woman and Mission and Health and Welfare. Survivors are: six sons, Alphonzo Williams, Eaddy Williams, Jr., Genino Williams, all of Kingstree; David Williams of Lake City; Sam C. Williams of Palm Spring, California; and James Williams of Live Oak, Florida; three daughters, Mrs. Rodell Shaw of Kingstree; Mrs. Gennie Niles of Charleston; and Mrs. Betty Conyers of Brooklyn, New York; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Bell Knox of Jersey City, New Jersey; Mrs. Frances Goodman of Rochester, New York; seven grandchildren she reared as her own, Mrs. Dorothy Ceaser, Eric Williams, Eaddy Williams, Carl Williams, all of the home; Terry Williams of Columbia; Mrs. Shelia Brown and Virginia Williams, both of Kingstree; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

THE REV. VAN LEE -- Funeral services for the Rev. Van Lee, conducted by the rev. Frank James, were held Saturday, May 3, 2003, at St. Paul United Methodist church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and rogers Funeral Home, followed in the churchyard cemetery. The Rev. Lee, 101, died Monday, April 28, 2003, at the Kingstree Nuirsing Facility in Kingstree. He was born February 1, 1902, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Pringle Lee and Mrs. Lillie Lawery. He attended the public schools of Williamsburg County and was a member of St. Paul Uinited Methodist Church, where he served as a Lay Speaker for the church. Survivors include: two sons, Thorne Lee, Sr., of Charleston, and Keith S. Lee, of Miami, Florida; one brother, Lloyd Lee of Florence, a special friend, Mrs. Thomasna Armstrong; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

HENRY DeMARSICO -- Henry James DeMarsico, Jr., 68, retired employee of El Dupont De Nemours & Company, died Fri., May 2, 2003, at the Medical University of South Carolina. Mr. DeMarscio was born May 7, 1934, in North Adam, Massachusetts, the son of Henry James DeMarsico, Sr. and Marguerite Lillian Lanoue DeMarsico. He was a 1951 graduate of Drury High School in North Adam, Massachusetts and a 1959 graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a bachelor of science in chemistry; 1961-9964 certified Episcopal Lay Leader; a retired research/development chemist and national account marketing/sales manager for the EI Dupont; a member of the American Chemical Society and the American Marketing Association; recipient of the Pro Merito Scholastic Award and the Nu Sigma Scholastic Award; 1952 Interservice Bantamweight Boxing Champion; a licensed private pilot, a scuba instructor and the owner/inventor of five United States Chemical Patents. Survivors are: his wife, Brooksie Ann Thornton DeMarsico of Andrews; two daughters, Cheryl Ann D. Taylor of Longwood, Florida; and Lauryl Lee D. Otto of Sylvania, Ohio; one brother, Richard Raymond DeMarsico of North Adams, Massachusetts; one sister, Dolores D. Marco Hausman of Turner Falls, Massachusetts; and five grandchildren.

LERLINE SCOTT -- Funeral services for Mrs. Lerline McCullough Scott, conducted by the Rev. Frank James and Dr. Herman Gibson, were held Sun., May 4, 2003, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Old. Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Scott, 74, died Wed., April 30, 2003, at the Medical University in Charleston. She was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Robert Dewey McCullough and Maggie Mitchum McCullough. She was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. Mrs. Scott was a member of Old Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board and sung on the senior choir. Survivors are: her husband, Freddie Pete Scott, Sr.; six sons, Calvin Scott, Sr., Brice Scott, Lee Scott, Freddie Pete Scott, Jr., Ricky Scott and Robert Scott, all of Kingstree; five daughters, Mrs. Daisy Scott, Mrs. Maggie Henderson, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Wall and Mrs. Jacqueline Scott, all of Kingstree; and Mrs. Sandra Davis of Simponsville; three brothers, Felder McCullough, Harry T. McCullough and Willard McCullough, all of Kingstree; eight sisters, Annie Mae McCullough and Mrs. Maggie Pressley, both of Kingstree; Mrs. Rosa Bell Nesmith of Nesmith; Mrs. Gertrude Driffin and Mrs. Iona Cuyler, both of Rochester, New York; and Mrs. Inell Marshall of Brooklyn, New York; 32 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

BETTY LOU TAYLOR -- Funeral services for Betty Lou Wheeler Taylor, 64, conducted by the Rev. Tommy E. Barnhill, will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Spring Gulley Baptist Church. Burial, directed by the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home, followed in the churchyard cemetery. Mrs. Taylor died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at her residence. She was born January 14, 1939, in the Earles community of Williamsburg County, a daughter of Doris Ellen Moore Wheeler and the late Richard Olin Wheeler. She attended Williamsburg High School. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Spring Gulley Baptist Church and the church choir. She was also active with the Womenıs Missionary Union of the church. She loved to work with crafts at her home. Mrs. Taylor was predeceased by a son, Murray M. Taylor, III. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: three sons, Richard A. Taylor, Michael S. Taylor and C.A. "Tony" Taylor, all of Andrews; two daughters, Betty ³Sissy² M. Taylor and Dana O. Taylor, both of Andrews; two sisters, Jo Ann Blakely of Hanahan, and Mary Alma Abrams of Andrews; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MICHELLE McKENZIE -- Funeral services for Myra Michelle McKnight Weaver McKenzie, 39, were held Monday, May 5, 2003, in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Lake City Memorial Park. Mrs. McKenzie was born in Florence, a daughter of Odell and Mavis Lowder McKnight. She was a former employee of the Shrimper in Lake City and was a member of Faith Holiness church in Scranton. Mrs. Weaver was predeceased by a sister, Marsha McKnight. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include: her husband, Mike McKenzie of Kingstree; two sons, Chris Weaver and Justin Weaver, both of Coward; one daughter, Jessica Weaver of Coward; one brother, Mark McKnight of Lake City; one sister, Mary Lussier of Murrells Inlet; her grandmothers, Edna Lowder and Eunice McKnight, both of Lake City; two grandchildren and her first husband, Ricky Weaver of Coward.

REV. C.B. DUNN -- The Rev. Charles Benjamin (C.B.) Dunn, 74, died Mon., May 5, 2003, at his residence. Funeral services were held Thurs., May 8, 2003, at Kingstree First Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Dunn was born in Chesterfield County, a son of the late John C. Dunn and Bessie Roberts Dunn. He earned his master of divinity from the American Divinity School, where he served as pastor and counselor, and earned his master of arts degree from Wingate College. For several years he taught school at Brockman Junior High School in Chester, South Carolina. He was ordained as a minister on Fatherıs Day 1955. The Rev. Dunn pastored churches at Long Branch Baptist in Jefferson, South Carolina, Charles-boro Baptist, Providence Baptist in Kershaw, Hickory Grove in Cheraw, Bladenboro Baptist in North Carolina, Calvary Baptist in Chester and for the past 33 years at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Kingstree. He also served as chaplain at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree, Carolinas Hospital in Lake City and McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Jean Burch Dunn of Kingstree; one daughter, Sylvia D. Frierson of Kingstree; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church or to Friends of Williamsburg Hospice.

CLEARSEE SPATES -- Funeral services for Clearsee Spates, conducted by the Rev. Benjamin Bryant and the Rev. K. L. Gibson, were held Tues., May 6, 2003, at Olive Grove Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Samuels and Richardson Funeral Home, followed at the church cemetery. Mrs. Spates, 64, died Fri., May 2, 2003, at McLeod Regional Center. She was born June 20, 1938, a daughter of the late Johnnie Myers, Sr., and Roberta Matthews Myers. She was educated in Florence County Public Schools. She was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church. She retired from McLeod Regional Medical Center. She was married to the late James Spates. Survivors are: her children, Deloris Frierson, James A. Spates, Henry Spates, Katrina Cooper, Wardell Spates, Lora A. Spates Robinson, Neapoleon A. and Demetrius E. Spates; four grandchildren, she reared, Amanda Covin, Maurice Spates, Brain Spates and Ron Spates; three brothers, Johnnie Myers, Jr., Harry Myers and Samuel Myers; three sisters, Eddie Mae Frierson, Conetha Johnson and Willie Mae Myers; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
