REV. DONALD BAILEY, SR. -- Rev. Donald Bennett Bailey, Sr., 91, of Austell, Georgia, died Mon., Dec. 13, 2004. Following a family graveside service and burial at Maple Hill Cemetery, a memorial service as held Sat., Dec. 18, 2004, at the First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, Alabama, with Dr. William Cockrill officiating. Davis-Struempf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Rev. Bailey was born April 19, 1913, in Liberty, South Carolina, a son of the late Rev. and Mrs. John C. Bailey. He grew up in Rock Hill, where his father was pastor of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Davidson College in 1935 and went on the teach school in Rockingham, North Carolina, for three years to earn money to attend seminary. He graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary in December 1941 and earned his masteršs degree in theology from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1942. His first church was Emory Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, where he served as the first ordained minister from 1942 through 1951. He was then called to Williamsburg Presbyterian Church in Kingstree, where he was a beloved longtime pastor and served until 1961. This church was one of the oldest churches in South Carolina, founded in 1736. He was called to First Presbyterian Church of Huntsville, Alabama, in 1961 and served there until his retirement in 1978. After retirement, he lived in the Atlanta area representing Columbia Seminary in Public Relations and acting as supply pastor for various churches in the area. He enjoyed preaching the Sunday service at Pawleys Island Chapel in Pawleys Island with his entire family in attendance during their annual summer vacation. In 1996 he and his wife moved to the Presbyterian Village in Austell, Georgia, where he lived until his death. Survivors are: his wife, Jane Estes Bailey; three sons, Donald B. Bailey, Jr., of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Harold E. Bailey of Huntsville, Alabama, and David J. Bailey of Anderson; and eight grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Donald B. and Jane E. Bailey Scholarship Fund at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, or to the Presbyterian Home for Children in Talladega, Alabama.

ESTHER KEELS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Esther Scott Keels, conducted by Rev. Carl Shaw, were held Sat., Dec. 11, 2004, at Promiseland Baptist Church in Greeleyville. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Cowhead Cemetery. Mrs. Keels, 91, died Tues., Dec. 14, 2004, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late John Scott and Sarah Keels Scott. She was the widow of Samuel Keels. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was employed by Boyd O'Bryan & Family of Greeleyville. Mrs. Keels was a member of Promiseland Baptist Church and was a member of the Missionary Society. Survivors are: two daughters, Hessie Lee Keels and Mrs. Dorothy McClary, both of Greeleyville; one son, Amos Keels of Rocky Mountain, North Carolina; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

EATHER YORK -- Funeral services for Mrs. Eather York, conducted by Rev. Standy McCrea, were held Thurs., Dec. 16, 2004, at North Kingstree Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery. Mrs. York, 75, died Fri., Dec. 10, 2004, in McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. She was born June 29, 1929, in Greeleyville, a daughter of the late York Keels, Sr., and Lillie Canty Keels. She was formerly employed by Oneita Knitting Mills and Kingstree Knitting Mills. She was a member of North Kingstree Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the Deaconess Board and as past president of the Missionary Society. She also sang with the Christian Sisters Singers. Survivors are: her husband, Eugene York of Kingstree; three sons, Sam York, Bruce York, and John York of Troy, New York; five daughters, Lizzie York, Earline York, Lue Ella York, Laura York, all of Kingstree, and Mrs. Carolyn Blanks of Florence; three brothers, Jody Keels and York Keels, both of Troy, New York, and Lee Eston Keels of San Diego, California; one sister, Mrs. Mary Lee of White Plains, New York; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

ANNIE MORGAN -- Annie Lou Mims Mishoe Morgan, 73, died Sun., Dec. 12, 2004, in Williamsburg Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Tues., Dec, 14, 2004, at Kingstree Second Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed in the churchyard cemetery. Mrs. Morgan was born in Clarendon County, a daughter of the late Soloman Z. and Winnie Mae Mims. She was a retired inspector for Kingstree Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Kingstree Second Baptist Church. Survivors are: one daughter, Judy Walker of Kingstree; one son, Michael Mishoe of Kingstree; two brothers, Clinton Mims of Kingstree and John Mims, Jr., of Johnsonville; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

WINSLOW WELCH -- Robert Winslow Welch, 85, died Tues., Dec. 14, 2004, at a Williamsburg County hospital. Graveside funeral services, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, were held Thurs., Dec. 16, 2004, in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Mr. Welch was born in Kingstree, a son of the late William H. and Elizabeth Winslow Welch. He was a graduate of The Citadel in 1942 as a Gold Star Student and a member of the Regimental Staff. He was the former president of Winslow Chevrolet Cadillac of Kingstree. He served in the Air Force from 1942-1946 and was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserve. He was also a charter member of the Optimist Club of Kingstree and a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church. Survivors are: his wife, Vallie McCutchen Welch; two daughters, Louise Welch of Charleston and Stark Welch of Dallas, Texas; one stepson, Milton Mack Duke of Kingstree; one stepdaughter, Jimmie Lou Morris of Kingstree; one brother, James White Welch of Kingstree; four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to The Citadel, Kingstree United Methodist Church or the Williamsburg County Regional Hospital.

BESSIE FLOYD -- Bessie Sue Reid Floyd, 61, died Mon., Sept. 13, 2004, at her residence. Funeral services, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, were held Fri., Dec. 17, 2004, in the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Floyd was born in Tennessee, a daughter of the late James Buchannon Reid and Zella Laura Biddix Reid. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors are: one daughter, Laura Jane Langston of Kingstree; three sisters, Roberta Cox of Kingstree, Lois Clark of Seattle, Washington, and Lucille Judge of Florence; one brother, Tommy Reid of New York; and four grandchildren.

BUSTER GRAHAM -- Funeral services for Sinclair Buster Graham, conducted by Rev. Jonathan Brown, Jr., were held Sun., Nov. 28, 2004, at Elijah United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Henryhand Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Graham died Tues., Nov. 23, 2004, at Kingstree Nursing Facility. He was born Aug. 20, 1920, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Snow and Ella Graham. He was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He was a member of Elijah United Methodist Church, where he served on the finance committee. He was employed for many years by the South Carolina Highway Department. He was known throughout Williamsburg County as the 'Barbeque Man.' His delicious barbeque was enjoyed by many. He was married to the late Mrs. Elouise Graham. Survivors are: one daughter, Mary Porchea of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three sons, Willie Graham, Billy Graham and Curtis Graham, all of Kingstree; seven brothers, Jimmy Graham, Heyward Graham, and Stormy Snow, all of Kingstree, Solomon Graham of Miami, Florida, Johnson Graham of Westbury, New York, and Rev. Morris Graham of Sumter; two sisters, Sylviarene Murphy of Kingstree and Mary Helen Brown of Cheraw; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

ROBERT McCUTCHEN, SR. -- Funeral services for Robert "KC" McCutchen, Sr., conducted by Rev. Geneva Stafford, were held Thurs., Dec. 16, 2004, at Mt. Seal United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard cemetery. Mr. McCutchen died Fri., Dec. 10, 2004. He was born Feb. 17, 1920, in Nesmith, a son of March and Venus McCutchen. He was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Mt. Seal United Methodist Church. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Willie Mae McCutchen of the home; four daughters, Alvenia and Leola McCutchen, both of Orangeburg, and Yolanda and Evelenia McCutchen, both of Washington, D.C.; two sons, Rev. Robert McCutchen of St. Stephen and Anthony McCutchen of North Charleston; and one grandchild.

ALBERTA ALLEN -- Funeral services for Alberta Shaw Allen "Missy" were held Mon., Nov. 29, 2004, at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Burial, directed Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard cemetery. Ms. Allen died Wed., Nov. 24, 2004. She was born March 24, 1930, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Snow, Sr. She was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was employed by Highland Hospital in Rochester, New York, for 28 years. Upon her retirement, she moved back to Kingstree. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Survivors are: her mate, Willie 'Red' Bridges; one daughter, Cassandra June; two sons, Brandon Johnson and Kenneth Johnson; two brothers, Harold Shaw and Mallue Shaw of Rochester, New York; one sister, Jannie June of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

EMMA WILSON -- Funeral services for Emma Carol Wilson, conducted by Rev. Samuel B. Cooper, were held Tues., Dec. 14, 2004, at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Salters. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at St. Mary A.M.E. Churchyard Cemetery. Ms. Wilson died Wed., Dec. 8, 2004, at her residence in Salters. She was born June 11, 1944, in Salters, a daughter of Thomas Wilson and Esther Wilson Beau-fort. She was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County at Blakely High School. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. She moved to New York and was employed by HHA Nursing Home for many years as a nursing assistant. Survivors, in addition to her mother, are: six children, Carleton McBride of Manhattan, New York, Lenoir McBride of Florence, Ronnie Wilson and Eric Wilson, both of Bronx, New York, Jimmy Wilson of Baltimore, Maryland, and Jannette Wilson of Salters; three sisters, Janice Wilson, Darlene Wilson and Elizabeth Wilson, all of Sumter; her step-grandmother, Retha Beaufort of Suttons; and 13 grandchildren.
