McCUTCHEON -- Larry Oswell "Sonny Boy" McCutcheon, 66, died Saturday, February 19, 2000, in the Lake City hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, February 21, 2000, in the Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Mr. McCutcheon was born in Florence County, a son of the late Louie D. and Willow Dean Thornhill McCutcheon Burrows. He was a farmer and a carpenter and owner/operator of McCutcheon Grocery. Survivors are: his wife, Pansy Hodge McCutcheon of Cades; two daughters, Gerri Welch and Brenda Isgett, both of Kingstree; one son, Wayne McCutcheon of Lake City; one sister, Jean Colvard of Conway; and three brothers, Bobby "Slick" McCutcheon of Charleston; Jamie McCutcheon of Coward and Charles "Pete" McCutcheon of Greeleyville.

HUGGINS -- Joseph "Cleveland" Huggins, 82, died Saturday, February 19, 2000, in a Florence hospital. Graveside funeral services were held Monday, February 21, 2000, in Lake City Memorial Park directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Mr. Huggins was born in Florence County, a son of the late Hampton Russell Huggins and Sara Martha Haselden Huggins. He was a retired trucker and member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors are: one daughter, Mrs. Frances H. Ratliff of Clearmont, FL; one son, Jerry C. Huggins of Florence; and four sisters, Elene Pace and Wilma Byrd, both of Charles-ton; Mable Anderson of Lake City and Sara Greenwood of Hemingway.

STEWARD -- Funeral services for Trevor Devon Steward were held Friday, February 25, 2000, at Howard Chapel A.M.E. Church in New Zion, conducted by the Rev. Jerome McCray and the Rev. Edward Roberts. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Greeleyville directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Steward, 28, died Saturday, February 19, 2000, at Tuomey Regional Hospital in Sumter. He was born June 14, 1971, in Jersey City, NJ, a son of Daniel Steward and Victoria Louis McClary Steward. He was a 1989 graduate of Manning High School and a member of Howard Chapel A.M.E. Church. He was a skilled brick mason and was employed as a construction worker. Survivors, in addition to his parents, are: one son, Jalen Kennedy of Turbeville; one daughter, ShaKeithia Blanding of Manning; his step-father, Randy Rush of Alcolou, SC; his grandmother, Mrs. Lula Mae McClary of Greeleyville; two sisters, Latena Steward of Manning; and Desiree Prince of Newark, NJ; two brothers, Rodney Steward of Manning; and Byron Prince of Jersey City, NJ; and two step-sisters, Julene and Renee Rush, both of Newark, NJ.

HANNA -- Thelma Coker Hanna, 80, widow of Walter Way Hanna, died Saturday, February 26, 2000, in the Lake City/Scranton Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Monday, February 28, 2000, in the Little Star Free Will Baptist Church. Burial followed at Hanna Cemetery directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Mrs. Hanna was born in New Zion, a daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Barnard Dennis Coker. She was retired from A. B. Dick. She was a member of Little Star Free Will Baptist Church, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Adult Sunday school class. Survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. Judy Altman Burroughs of Lake City; and Mrs. Patricia Simmons of Hemingway; two sons, Billy Hanna and Vennie Hanna, both of Lake City; two sisters, Mrs. Miriam Collins and Mrs. Bonnie Schleuger, both of Johnsonville; and two brothers, Marion D. Coker of Lake City; and Edward R. Coker of Sanford, FL.

EADDY -- Funeral services for Mrs. Sadie Mae Carolina Eaddy were held Wed., March 1, 2000, at North Kingstree Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Standy McCray and the Rev. Curtis Boston. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Andrews directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Eaddy, 54, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at the South Miami of Homestead Hospital in Homestead, FL. She was born May 10, 1945, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of Mrs. Mae Lee Hosea Carolina and the late James Thomas Carolina. She was reared by the late Alex and Ella F. Carolina. She was a member of Full Gospel Outreach Ministries in Kingstree. Survivors, in additon to her mother of New Haven, CT, are: her husband, Milton Eaddy, Sr. of the home; two sons, Milton Eaddy, Jr. of Homestead, FL; and Darrell Levern Eaddy of New Haven, CT; five daughters, Mrs. Jerlene McKnight of Greeleyville; Mildred Eaddy, Latasha Eaddy and April Eaddy, all of Florida City, FL; and Sharon Eaddy of Naranja, FL; one brother, Jeffrey Carolina of New Haven, CT; and one sister, Daisy Carolina of New Haven, CT.

MITCHELL -- Funeral services for Roosevelt "Bear" Mitchell were held Sat., March 4, 2000, at New Jerusalem Holiness Church Apostolic Faith in Kingstree, conducted by Junior Bishop William E. Scott and Bishop Silas Scott. Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mitchell, 65, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at the Carolinas Hospital System-Kingstree. He was born August 28, 1934, in Kingstree, the son of Mrs. Nettie Janet Mitchum Mitchell and the late Ernest "Coot" Mitchell. He was married to the late Betty Jean Scott. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Kingstree, are: two daughters, Gloria Mitchum of Riverdale, GA; and Valerie Bethune Mitchum of Charlotte, NC; two sons, David Roosevelt Mitchum of Bath, NY; and Alphonso Mitchum of Albany, NY; and three sisters, Mrs. Fowler Graham of Kingstree; Mrs. Alma Louise Scott of Cades; and Diana Cooper of Sumter.

KIRKLAND -- Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Azalee Kirkland were held Sat., March 4, 2000, at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Jerome Wilson. Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery in Kingstree directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Kirkland, 81, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at her home in Kingstree. She was born March 17, 1918, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Amos and Susie Burgess. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Arthur C. Kirkland. She graduated from South Carolina State Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1941, with a degree in home economics and nutrition. She taught home economics and nutrition at Claflin College and during World War II was employed as a reveter for the assembly of war planes for the US Air Force. She was a member of St. Stephens A.M.E. Church in Detroit, MI. Survivors are: two sons, Eric Kirkland of Temple, AZ; and Arthur C. Kirkland, Jr. of Detroit, MI; two daughters, Dr. Judy Davis of Rancho Palos Vedes, CA; and Dr. Joyce Essien of Atlanta, GA; and one sister, Mrs. Susie Neal of Kingstree.

MORRIS -- Funeral services for Billie Francis Morris, 70, were held Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Chuck Walker and the Rev. James Goins. Burial followed at Elmwood Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Morris, widow of Coolidge Morris, died Sunday, February 27, 2000. Born in Columbia, March 22, 1929, she was the daughter of Richard DesPortes Walker and Mattie Elizabeth Thomas Walker. She was a graduate of Columbia High School. Survivors are: one sister, Betty R. Elrod of Ridgeway; one brother, Charles T. Walker of Kingstree; and one son, Robert W. Morris of Lexington.

BLACKMON -- Funeral services for Wilbur R. Blackmon were held February 28, 2000, at McClary's Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. C. C. Gordon. Burial followed at Kingstree Cemetery directed by McClary's Funeral Home. Mr. Blackmon, a farmer, died Feb. 23, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Wilson, NC. He was born August 3, 1912, in Kingstree, the son of the late Eddie and Fannie Blackmon. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Geneva Blackmon of Sumter; one son, Deacon Cliffton Blackmon of Kingstree; and one daughter, Mrs. Sarah Pugh of Sumter.

JONES -- Dorothy Ann Jones Jones, 62, wife of Douglas Jones, died Saturday, February 26, 2000, in a Florence hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, 2000, in the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Kingstree Memorial Gardens directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones was born in Rockingham, NC, a daughter of the late Dan C. and Mary Bell Bowers Jones. She was a homemaker and attended the Holiness Church. Survivors, in addition to her husband of Scranton, are: two daughters, Linda Miles and Denise Parrott, both of Coward; one son, Douglas James Jones of Kingstree; four brothers, Gene Autry Jones, Jr. of Kingstree; Jack C. Jones of California; Dan Jones, Jr. of Saluda; and Issaac Jones of Kingstree; and one sister, Patricia Cumbee of Kingstree.
