LAMB -- Levon Lamb, 60, died Monday, March 13, 2000, in a Florence hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 15, 2000, in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Lake City Memorial Park directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Mr. Lamb was born in Lake City, a son of the late Alex Blakely Lamb and Mettie Nettles Lamb. He was a graduate of Indiantown High School, a retired farmer and the former owner of Lamb's Kwik Stop. He was an Army veteran having served four years. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Shirley Baxley Lamb of Lake City; one daughter, Kim Lamb Coker of Lake City; one brother, Troy Lamb of Lake City; three sisters, Maude Lamb Tuten of Georgetown; Chris Lamb and Dr. Anne Lamb Matthews, both of Columbia; and four step-children, Len Rogers, Mike Rogers and Pam Todd, all of Hemingway; and Debbie Huggins of Georgetown.

WICKER -- Sarah Hemingway Wicker, 71, of St. Augustine, FL, died Friday, February 25, 2000, at her home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 29, 2000, at First United Methodist Church directed by Craig Funeral Home. She was a native of Kingstree and had a lived in St. Augustine for many years. She was a retired Christian education director and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors are: two daughters, Judy Wicker Maynard of Midlothian, VA; and Susan Wicker Pinson of Melrose; two sons, John Rufus Wicker of St. Augustine, FL; and Robert Rhem Wicker of Tampa, FL; and one brother, Furney R. Hemingway of Atlanta, GA.

WARD -- George Washington "G. W." Ward, 73, died Friday, March 17, 2000, at Commander Nursing Center, Lake City. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 19, 2000, in the Great Commission Ministries Church. Burial followed in the Lake City Memorial Park directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Mr. Ward was born in Lake City, a son of the late George and Taska Daniels Ward. He was owner/operator of Ward Plumbing. He was also a US Navy veteran, having served in World War II. Surviving is one daughter, Elaine W. McKnight of Lake City.

STONE -- Susan Rodgers Whitlock Stone, 47, died Friday, March 17, 2000, at her residence. Graveside services was held Sunday, March 19, 2000, at Lake City Memorial Park directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Mrs. Stone was born in Dillon, SC, a daughter of the late Luther Chapman Whitlock, Jr. and Leila Sitton Reaves. She was a graduate of Lake City High School and was employed by Kentucky Fried Chicken in Kingstree as a shift supervisor. Survivors are: one son, Shawn C. Stone of Johnsonville; three brothers, Luther C. Whitlock, III of Salisbury, NC; L. Lee Whitlock of Louisville, KY; and Harvey A. (Hal) Whitlock of Turbeville; and one sister, Donna C. Welch of Olive Branch, MS.

JACKSON -- James Thomas Jackson, 78, died Saturday, March 18, 2000, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 21, 2000, in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Lake City Memorial Park directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Mr. Jackson was born in Holly Hill, SC, a son of the late Heyward and Mary Elizabeth Danzler Jackson. He was a salesman for Brown¹s Hardware in Lake City. He was retired from the US Air Force, having served in Vietnam and World War II. He attended Camp Branch Free Will Baptist Church and was a member of the VFW in Lake City. Survivors are: his wife, Ethel Virginia Ward Jackson of Scranton; and one son, Merrell Britt of Wilkes-Barre, PA.

FEAGIN -- Barney Feagin, 77, died Saturday, March 18, 2000, in the C. M. Tucker Human Resource Center in Columbia. Graveside funeral services were held Monday, March 20, 2000, in the Old Piney Grove Cemetery directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Mr. Feagin was born in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Willie Lafatte and Essie Rogers Feagin. He was a self-employed carpenter. Survivors are: two brothers, William Leon Feagin and Alva Feagin, both of Lake City; and three sisters, Geneva Bryant of Lake City; Wilhelmina Lee of Darlington; and Annie Ruth Duke of New Zion.

SAULS -- Mrs. Annie Dell McGee Sauls, 79, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, in a Kingstree hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, March 17, 2000, in Kingstree Second Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Sauls was born in Williamsburg County, a daughter of Mottie A. and Annie Yarborough McGee. She attended schools in Williamsbug County and was a Charter Member of Kingstree Second Baptist Church. She worked at The Lady's Shop in Kingstree. Survivors are: one daughter, JoAnn Sauls Dorrell of Kingstree; one son, Steve Sauls of Kingstree; one sister, Mrs. Lee Ellen Hatcher; one brother, Carroll McGee; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

TYLER -- Fred L. Tyler, 88, died Monday, March 27, 2000, in a St. Stephen nursing home. Funeral services were held March 29, 2000, in Cedar Grove Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. C. B. Dunn. Burial followed in the church cemetery directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mr. Tyler was born in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Agnes Tisdale Tyler and George N. Tyler. He was a retired farmer and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Stuckey Tyler of Kingstree; one son, Fred L. Tyler, Jr. of Kingstree; one daughter, Rebecca Smith of Kingstree; and one sister, Mrs. Sadie T. Berman of Lake City.

GAMBLE -- Richard Ashburn Gamble, 56, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, in a Lake City hospital. Memorial services were held Sunday, April 2, 2000, in the Kingstree United Methodist Church directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mr. Gamble was born in Kingstree, a son of Mrs. Helen Ashburn Gamble and the late Beverly Franklin Gamble. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and received his B. S. and masters degree from the Citadel. He was an Eagle Scout and was the recipient of the Order of the Arrow. He was a former teacher and assistant principal at Brentwood Middle School in Charleston. He was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Kingstree, are: his wife, Martha E. Haines of Charleston and Rockingham, NC, one daughter, Julie Ann Gamble of Manning; one sister, Beverly Ann G. Setzler of Kingstree; and one brother, Fred H. Gamble of Kingstree.

KENNEDY -- Mrs. Mary Lundy Kennedy, 82, widow of George Curtis Kennedy, Sr., died Wed., March 29, 2000, at her residence. Funeral services were held Friday, March 31, 2000, in the Kingstree United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. George Howle. Burial was in Kingstree Memorial Gardens directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mrs. Kennedy was born in Sumter County, a daughter of the late Russell W. Lundy and Annie Jernigan Lundy. She was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Wallace Connor Sunday school class and the Leila Epps Circle. Survivors are: one son, G. Curtis Kennedy, Jr. of Kingstree; one daughter, Judy K. King of Sumter; and one sister, Grace L. White of Sumter.
