BONNIE CARSON ACUFF
Bonnie Carson Acuff, age 86, of Harvest, Ala., passed away Sunday, September 21, 2003.
Mrs. Acuff was a former resident of Maryville, TN. She was prededed in death by her husband, Roy W. Acuff.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Bridges and husband Bill of Harvest, Ala.; son Carson Acuff and wife Carolyn of Maryville; two grandchildren, Angela Trout and Michael Acuff of Maryville; three great-grandchildren, Bradley, Ryan and Megan Trout; sister, Eva Holbert of Knoxville.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. The graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at the adjoining cemetery with Rev. Bill Bridges officiating. Smith Mortuary, Maryville..

ELLA MAE GIBSON
Ella Mae Gibson, age 95 of Seymour, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2003, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 983-1000.

JACKIE N. HIGDON
Jackie N. Higdon, 80, of Maryville, departed this life Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Bount Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-eight years Audrey M. Higdon; parents, John and Beulah Higdon; sister, Merle Millsaps, all of Maryville.
Born in 1922 in Meadow Branch, N.C. he graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in education and taught at Robbinsville Junior High in North Carolina for a year. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army as a member of the 13th Airborne Division from 1943 to 1946.
After his tour of duty, he met and married the former Audrey Walton in 1950. He then took a job with ALCOA Aluminum Co. He retired from there in 1986.
He was a member of Centenary Baptist Church in Maryville.
He is survived by son & daughter-in-law, Jim & Trenia Higdon of Maryville; daughter & son-in-law Margie & Micky Odom of Robbinsville, N.C.; son & daughter-in-law, Steve & Becky Higdon of Maryville; brothers and sisters-in-laws Harry and Elizabeth Higdon, Lamar and Wlliadean Higdon of Maryville; grandchildren include: Nathan & Daniel Higdon of Maryville, Mark & Michael Odom of Robbinsville, N.C.; Stephanie Edwards of Knoxville; Jeff Higdon and Jessica Higdon of Maryville; great-grandson, Zeke Odom; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 22, from 6-8 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, in Maryville. Funeral services are to immediately follow with the Rev. Beecher Whitehead officiating.
Family and friends will gather Tuesday, September 23, at the funeral home at 10 a.m., followed by procession to Grandview cemetery in Maryville for the interment at 11 a.m.

PERRY LYNN RODEN
Perry Lynn Roden age 49 of Louisville, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include wife, Joy Roden; children, Angela Flynn, Billie Rhodes, Ginger Endsley, Jeremiah Cochran and Jedi Cochran all of Louisville; grandchildren, Chevy Emmert, Dillion Rhodes and Lexi Flynn; mother, Icia McAmis of Louisville; sisters, Diane Cable of Maryville and Cynthia Carver of Friendsville; niece, Emma Carver; nephews, Alex Carver and Chris Cable; best friends, Danny Thomas and Steve Robertson both of Maryville.
At Mr. Roden's request he was cremated and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

GARY DALE RUSSELL
Gary Dale Russell, age 54 of Maryville and employee of ALCOA went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 20, 2003.
He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mary Eva Rhyne and Ida G. Russell; father, Sam A. Russell; step-father, Robert Roach.
Survivors include, mother, Helen Roach of Maryville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Madonna and Ken Slaven, of Maryville, Penny and Danny Jent, of Talbott, TN.; sister, Denise Russell, of Luttrell; Shirley Merritt, a wonderful loving special girlfriend of eleven years; niece, Spring Hill; nephews, Rob Southerland, and Travis Roach; aunts, Odell Gardner, and Verna Bee McDonell; uncles, W.D. Rhyne and wife Betty Jo, Joe Rhyne and wife Dorothy, Earl Russell and wife Ruby, Elmer Russell and wife Evell, Mayford Russell and wife Ann.
Funeral services will be 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alvin Patton, Rev. Jim Tater Wells and Rev. Greg McDonell officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Williamson's Chapel for the interment service.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville 982-6812

BILLIE CLARA SHIELDS
Billie Clara Shields, age 88 of Sevierville died Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Maryville Health Care. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville. She was retired from America Telephone and Telegraph Co, and a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of Sevierville Chapter of Eastern Star #138 and Spencer Clack DAR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Swain and Geneva Shields, three brothers, Paul, Ray, and Wallace Lee Shields.
Survivors: sisters: Esta Shields, of Sevierville, Ann Branam McAnnally and husband Howard, of Gatlinburg; brothers: Earl Dean Shields, of Sevierville, Jack Shields and wife Juanita, of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 7:30 p.m. Monday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Family and friends will meet 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shiloh cemetery for graveside and interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Monday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.

IVORY M. REAGAN YEAROUT
Ivory M. Reagan Yearout, age 93 of Maryville passed away Sunday September 21, 2003 at Maryville Health Care Center.
She was member of Faith Baptist Church. Ivory was a woman of strength, always working with her hands. She loved quilting and gardening while she was able. Ivory was a loving mother who always loved her children and family. She was always asking "how the little ones were doing?" Ivory made preparations to meet her Lord and Savior many years ago, speaking often of a "better place to go to." She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Ben W. Yearout; daughter, Margie Yearout Rose; sons, J.B. and James Harold Yearout.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Bobbie Yearout; son Alvin Yearout; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Ronnie Blair, Gail and Mitchell Wells all of Maryville; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Dorothy, Gene, Jackie, Janie, Andy, Joe, B.H; Margaret, and Pauline.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Blair and Rev. Jason Blair officiating. The interment will follow in Clarks Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the McCammon-Ammons Click Funeral Home and friends may also call at their convenience.

ELIZABETH WATERS BURNS
Elizabeth Waters Burns age 85 of Wildwood passed away Thursday Sept. 18, 2003. Daughter of (Pappy) Joe and Lula Waters of Wildwood. preceded in death by her parents and brothers Enoch, Max, and Otis Waters. Beloved wife of 52 years to Floyd Thomas Burns, Sr. She was an active member of Logans Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Burns were the first formal wedding to take place in the new Logans Church building. Mrs. Burns graduated from Porter High School. She attended Maryville College for two years, transferring to the University of Tennessee where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. She retired from the Blount County School System in 1983 after teaching at Porter Elementary for 16 years, Friendsville and Porter High Schools for 9 years.
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother to: Children, Jane and David Doan of Blountville, TN; John and Susan Burns of Townsend, TN; Becky and Paul DePrator of Stongsville, OH; Floyd Thomas Jr. and Nancy Burns of Chattanooga, TN; and Robert Burns of Maryville. Grandchildren Lori and Adam Hitch, Elizabeth Doan, Lucinda and Nathaniel Allin, Holly Burns, Alisa Doan, Deborah Doan, David Bruce Doan III, and Rebekah Megan Burns. Step-grandchildren Jenise Greene, Doreen and Ed Zimmer, Kellie Dickson, Tiffany and Bill Bright, Derek DePrator. Great-grandchildren Anthony and Addison Hitch, great-grandson expected in December, Destiny, Noah and Olivia Zimmer. Schuyler Dickson, Ryan Bright. Sister, Mary Sue Thames of Maryville. Brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Grace Waters of Maryville. Sisters-in-law, Edith Pierce of Townsend, Ruby Burns and Ventura, CA, Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Saturday, September, 20th, 2003, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Bryan and Rev. Ann Robbins officiating. Family and friends will meet 2:00 PM Sunday at Logans Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery for the interment. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. LLOYD A. KAGLEY
Lloyd A. Kagley age 80 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Mt. View Church of Christ (Christian) Church, retired from ALCOA with over 30 years of service and a member of the 25 year club, veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Myrtle Kagley, daughter, Glenda Kagley Thompson and brother, Floyd Lee Kagley.
Survivors include wife, Edna Tipton Kagley; daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Willie Anderson, Sandra and Larry Best all of Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Ramona Kagley of Maryville; grandchildren, Ricky Thompson, Gary Thompson, Steve Anderson, Mark Anderson, Tammy Orr, Greg Best, Kevin Kagley and Dana Kagley; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul Kagley and James Kagley both of Maryville; sister, Mildred Kagley of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Minister Benic Hampton, Rev. Jerry Little and Rev. Darryl Lindsey officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Mt. View Church of Christ (Christian) cemetery for the interment. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

VOLA M. SEXTON
Vola M. Sexton age 92 of Louisville, passed away Friday morning, September 19, 2003 after a short illness. She devoted her life to being a wife and mother and she was wonderful at both. She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Caldonia Killion of Maggie Valley, North Carolina; husband, James S. Sexton; son, Robert J. Sexton; brothers, Johnny, Samuel, Thomas & Walter Killion.
Survivors include son & daughter-in-law, James R. & Johnnie Sexton; very special nephew, Glen Ogle and wife, Anna; a special friend, Gloria Milani and numerous nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Monday, September 22, 2003 Smith Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Harold Robbins officiating. Blanche W. Benson, age 81 of Maryville passed away Friday, September 19th, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church of Maryville. She was a beloved wife of 63 years, mother, and grandmother who will be cherished forever in on our hearts. preceded in death by husband James S. Benson. Daughters, Shirley Faye Benson and Lellia Mae Benson. Mother, Nellie Mullins. Father, Harley Webb Sr. Sisters, Bobbie J. Wilson and Louise Febarron Survivors include: Sons James L. Benson of Maryville and Rex A. Benson of Maryville. Sons and Daughters-in-law, Johnny E. and Linda Benson of Knoxville, Donald E. and Melissa Benson of Walland, Daughters, Ruby Jean Benson, Wanda Kaye Benson, Shirley Ann Mills of Maryville. 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Brothers Harley Webb Jr. of Alcoa and Kenneth E. Webb of Knoxville. Funeral Services will be 8:00 PM Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Tom Robins. Family and friends will meet 2:00 PM Monday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for interment services. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home..

VIRGINIA E. BLEVINS
Mrs. Virginia E. Blevins, 72, of Panama City, FL, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2003. Born in Newark, NJ, she moved here in 1972 from Savannah, GA. She was retired Civil Service from Coastal Systems Station. Mrs. Blevins was a member of the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star Miracle Chapter 306 of Panama City Beach. She was also a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and Past Grandwater for State of Florida. Mrs. Blevins is preceded in death by her husband, Leon 'Buddy' Blevins. She is survived by her son, Matthew Blevins and wife, Charlene of Houston, TX; daughter, Donna Blevins of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Jason Medina, Heather Blevins, Brooke Rendon, and Ryan and Matthew Blevins; one great-grandchild, Michell Medina and brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Brenda Blevins, Margrett and Ervil Russell, Jean and Don Matlock, Juanita and Tommy Whitehead, Mildred Fagg, Junior Law, and Grace Blevins. Memorial services for Mrs. Blevins will be conducted Monday, September 21, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Doug Pennington officiating. Active pallbearers will be the Friendship Sunday School Class of Lynn Haven United Methodist Church. A special thanks to Dr. Matthew Sweetser and his staff and her caregiver, Linda Coker.
