FRANCES MAE HOUSTON GROSS
Frances Mae Houston Gross, age 73, of Knoxville went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 25, 2003. Mrs. Gross was born in Knoxville and spent the majority of her life in this area. She was a family member of Riverview Baptist Church in Knoxville as well as a member of the Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron of the Acacia Chapter. Frances loved doing crafts, woodworking, and bowling, and she also loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Gross was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Murphy and Charlsie Murphy Smith; 3 sisters, Pat Ross, Georgia Hayes, and Janice Williams; and 1 brother, Rev. D.R. Murphy.
Survivors include her loving husband, Harlis Gross of the home; 6 daughters, Diana Houston of Knoxville, Donna Houston of Nashville, Charlsie Hobbs and husband Dan of Tehachapi, CA, Christine Williams and husband Denny of St. Pete, Fla., Darlene Gravenmier and husband Mike of Orlando, Fla., and Brenda Evans and husband Dan of Greenback, TN; 3 stepchildren, Marie Vandergriff and husband Sam, Betty Gross, and Danny Gross and wife Darlene all of Knoxville; 27 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Gross will be Friday, March 28, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Highland South Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in the Highland South Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Steve Hancock officiating. Graveside services will follow immediately on Saturday in the Highland South Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Highland South Memorial Park, Funerals, and Cremations, Chapman Hwy. 573-7300

JACKSON EUGENE KERLEY
Jackson Eugene Kerley, age 63 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church, was retired from the U. S. Navy, the U. S. Air Force and the 134th Guard Unit at McGhee Tyson Air Base. He was a member of the Prudential Masonic Lodge #719 and a 32nd Degree Mason.
Mr. Kerley was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary Dutton Gustafson and Harry R. Gustafson; and John R. Kerley, Jr.
Survivors include: wife, Darlene Cochran Kerley; daughter and son-in-law, Jill Renee and Robert Ferguson; special granddaughter, Alexandria Savage; brothers, Charles R. Kerley and Jim R. Kerley both of Jacksonville, FL; special friend, Sybil Gamble; and many other special friends.
A Masonic service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel followed by the funeral service with Rev. Richard Richter officiating. A military graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. Honorary Pallbearers will be James T. Burns, George Pinkston, Jimmy Harris, Ronnie McGhee, and Tommy Mills.

CLINTON RADFORD
Clinton Radford, age 80 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a son, Carson Radford; parents, Edward and Lillie Scott Radford; sister, Margaret Allen; brother, Theodore Radford.
Survivors include: wife, Christine Beasley Radford; sons and daughters-in-law, Cleaston and Carolyn Radford of Walland, Eddie and Doris Radford of Ball Play; 8 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; sister, Alma Dalton of Tellico; half-brothers, James M. Smith of Walland, Lester Wade Smith of Greenback, John Henry Smith of Tellico; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends; special friends, Jim Bookout and Raymond Beasley.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Kirkland and Rev. Leon Amburn officiating. The interment will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.

GENE A. ROLLINS
Gene A. Rollins, age 63, passed away in Winder, Ga. March 18, 2003.
Burial in Ga. March 21. He had a number of relatives in Tennessee. Smith Memory Chapel of Winder was in charge of arrangements.

ANNA LUCILLE LOVE HOUK
Anna Lucille Love Houk, age 88, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, formerly of Maryville, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2003 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness. She was of the Methodist faith and was employed by Standard Knitting Mills in Knoxville until her retirement in 1976. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. and Fannie Mac Jordan Love; husband, Claude E. Houk; brothers, Ralph Love, John Love, and Jerry Love; and sister, Stella McKlveen.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Claude T. and Mary Elizabeth Houk of Jefferson City; grandson and wife, Kevin and Teresa Houk of Jefferson City; great-grandsons, Adam, Andrew and Dustin Houk; sister, Mary Lee Gregory of Alcoa, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. Graveside interment services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003 at the Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the services on Wednesday.

RUTH S. WALKER
Ruth S. Walker, age 89 of Maryville, TN, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville, was retired from the Tennessee Department of Employment Security and was a member of the DAR. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Walker.
Survivors include: son, Thomas E. Walker of Maryville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Gene R. and Diana Walker of Bettendorf, IA; grandson, Brent Walker of Fresno, CA; granddaughter, Susan Walker Colsch of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Grandview cemetery for a graveside service with Dr. John Sharp officiating.

JAMES RASTUS BERRONG, JR.
James Rastus Berrong Jr., age 73 of Maryville, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 23, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended Knob Road Baptist Church, retired from ALCOA after 44 years of service, member of the 25 year club and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Preceded in death by parents, James R. and Carrie Berrong; brother, Billy Berrong; and sisters, Susan Nelson, Vesta Davis and Margaret Harris.
Survivors include wife, Wilma Dean Sparks Berrong; son, James Daniel Berrong of Maryville; daughter, Donna Gail Young of Maryville; son-in-law, Danny Boone of Maryville; grandsons, Jason and Justin Boone; brother, Wayne Berrong of Maryville; brothers-in-law, Dale, Tom and Charles Sparks all of Maryville; sisters-in-law, Wanda McGhee, Doris White, Betty Boyce and Bobby Lambert all of Maryville; special friend, Howard Law of Alcoa.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Jerry Little officiating. Interment 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

TODD WALLACE BRADLEY
Todd Wallace Bradley, age 36 of Louisville, Tenn., passed away suddenly at his home Saturday night, March 15, 2003. He lived on Fort Loudon Lake and was an avid boater and water-skier. Todd never met a stranger and always welcomed family and friends to his home. He was known for his outgoing and humorous personality. He grew up in the family business, Consumer's Supply Company, Inc. Todd was a well-known and respected businessman and was associated with Modern Supply for many years and more recently Partners Supply. Todd's great-grandfather, John James Condon, was the foreman of the crew who constructed the Gay Street Bridge, downtown Knoxville.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Norman Wallace and Melba Bradley and Jack and Josephine Houchins.
He is survived by wife, Susie Small Bradley; and son, Jakco Wallace Bradley; mother and stepfather, Robbie and Jim Kriclean; father and stepmother, Barry and Bobbie Bradley; brother and sister-in-law, Kyle and Jennifer Bradley of Columbia, S.C.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws; grandparents, Francis and Joey Dickson of New Castle, Ind., Laura Small of Anderson, Ind.; parents, James and Becky Small of Ocala, Fla., Sherry and Peter Wenct of Atlanta, Dawn and Ross Bogan of Atlanta; and nephews, Brock and Sterling Wenct and Joshua Bogan.
Funeral service was held at Our Lady of Fatima, Alcoa, Tenn. of Tuesday, March 18 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Greg Boisvert officiating. Memorial gifts may be made to: The Tom and Katherine Black Intensive Care Nursery at University of Tennessee Hospital, UT ICN, 1924 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. Attn: Mary Griffin. The family received friends in the church fellowship hall after the mass.

MARGARET `MARMI' HOOD MAIRS
Margaret "Marmi" Hood Mairs, of Louisville passed away Saturday, March 22, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Mairs was the widow of E.D. "Don" Mairs. She was born on January 21, 1928 in New Kensington Pa., and was a graduate of Bucknell University with a degree in biology. Marmi worked as a research assistant at Seoan Kettering Memorial Center for Cancer Research in New York City and managed the Metabolic Laboratory of the Clinical Research Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church where she served as a member of the Vestry and President of the Women of the Church. An avid golfer. Marmi was a member of Green Meadow Country Club and the Knox Area Women's Golf Association. She was the Recorder of the Town of Louisville and was subsequently elected Alderman and served as Vice Mayor of Louisville. Her volunteer activities included the United Way, as a section head and a vice president of a division, and the American Red Cross, for whom she served two terms as a Board Member as well as a member of the Southeastern Advisory Council.
Marmi was preceded in death by her parents, John Williams Hood Sr., and Mary Wilson Hood; and her brother, J. William "Bill" Hood; and her sister-in-law, Jean Bissell Hood.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Lesly and Mitchell Senker of Cumming Ga; grandchildren, their spouses and great grandchildren, Kimberly and Andrew Bornstein Jacob Maxwell Bornstein and Jessica Elizabeth Bornstein of Atlanta Ga., Susan and Chris Reynolds, Megan Leigh Reynolds and Katherine Nicole Reynolds of Dunwoody Ga., and Justin and Tracy Senker, Jonathon Michael Senker, James Mitchell Senker and Joshua Mairs Senker of Stone Mountain Ga.; nieces, Carol Hood Schuler of Langsville Ohio, Dr. Margaret Hood "Beth" Burnham of Round Hill Va., Susan Hood Toth of Medina Ohio; nephew, John W. Hood III of Louisville; and cousins, Peggy Atchison and Betty Rueter of Maryville.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Maryville on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Martha P. Sterne officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 314 W. Broadway, Maryville Tn. 37801 or to a charity of your choice.

CONNIE D. PATTY
Connie D. Patty, age 52 of Maryville died Saturday evening, March 22, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Purkey; sister, Susan Ann Purkey. She was a RN in Blount and Knox Counties for several years. She was a member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church in Louisville.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Eddie Patty; daughter and son in law, Carrie and Herbert Stillwell; son, Brandon Patty; mother, Edwina Purkey, all of Maryville; sister, Jane Finger of Friendsville; sister and brother-in-law, Tammie and Larry Basler; mother-in-law, Juanita Patty all of Maryville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rose and Ed Reagan of Sevierville; niece, Tonya Finger; nephews, Jason and Joshua Basler, and Travis Reagan.
Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Monday March 24, 2003 at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville with Rev. Clarence Byrd and Rev. Carl Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to proceed to Zion Chapel cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.

CLYDE EDWARD WILLIAMS
Clyde Edward Williams, age 83 of Maryville, was born February 29, 1920, and died Friday, March 21, 2003. He grew up in Rockford, TN, where his father and grandfather were owners of Rockford Mill Co. Clyde's first job was sweeping the floor in the mill at age five. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp in Burma and China during World War II. He was in the retail furniture business in Maryville from 1945 to 1986 with Spears and Williams Furniture Company, then with Williams and McDaniel Furniture Company and-- from 1961 until his retirement--as proprietor of Williams Furniture Co. He was a longtime member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Maryville, a Rotarian, and a member of the board of directors of Laurel Lake for a number of years. Clyde's reputation among his friends, business associates, and customers was that he could repair just about anything.
Clyde was the son of Richard Hobart and Bessie Bailey Williams, both deceased, and is survived by his wife of 61 years, Irene Shelley "Brownie" Williams who worked with him in the furniture business for 25 years. He is also survived by his sister Evelyn Williams McDaniel and her husband Kyle McDaniel of Maryville. Brownie's sisters and their husbands are, Ruby Shelley McCulley and Andy McCulley of Sweetwater, TN. and Sue Shelley Parton and Ray Parton of Seymour. Other survivors include: son, Darryl, married to the former Karen Repass of Maryville, living in Blythewood, SC; daughter, Ruth Ellen, married to Buddy Fey of Pinebluff, AR living in Memphis, TN; son, David, married to the former Donna Kay Whitehead of Maryville, living in Lewisville, TX. Pastor of First Baptist Church of Flower Mound, TX; he will officiate at the funeral service; grandchildren and great-grandchildren are: Greg and Elizabeth Irene Williams of New York City, Jeff, Lisa, Sophie, and Caroline Williams of Atlanta, GA, Brian and Brooke Williams of The Colony, TX, and Jonathan Williams of Lewisville, TX. There are several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather for interment Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery.
