Margaret Inez Farmer, age 78 of Rockford passed away Wednesday morning, January 23, 2003 at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center, Sevierville.
Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Jim Ogle of Gatlinburg, Rebecca and Skip Brooks of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; son, John Steven Peters of Rockford; granddaughter, Kelly Ogle Wolfe and husband, Scottie; grandchildren, John Zachary Brooks, Erin Maria Brooks, Sean Michael Peters, Ashley Wagner; stepdaughter and husband, Cathy and Jerry Waitinas of Oliver Springs, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Willadean and Lamar Higdon of Maryville; sisters, Alda Maranville of Maryville, Virginia Jo Dean of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2003 Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel. Family and friends will meet at Bethel cemetery in Townsend at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

LOUISE FORRESTER HURST
Louise Forrester Hurst, 64 of Knoxville died Tuesday January 21, 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen Harman Forrester; brothers, Leroy and Frank Eugene Forrester; son, Rickey Stallans.
She is survived by her children, Joe Walker, Doris Dillingham, Mickey Stallans, Vickey Stallans, Danny Henry, and Gena Wise; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; special great granddaughter, Miracle Kelso; sisters, Marie Righi, Linda Sneed; brothers and sister-in-law, Jay and Linda Forrester, Ray Forrester.
Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville with Rev. Gerald Lawson officiating. The family will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa at 4:00 p.m. Friday for a graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home.

NELVIN CORA MILLER KELLY
Mrs. Nelvin Cora Miller Kelly, age 89, of Rock Hill, SC, died Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at Rock Hill Health Care, Inc. Native of Belmont, NC. Mrs. Kelly was of the Baptist faith and a retiree of Arcade Mill with 44 years of service. preceded in death by parents, Edgar Jerome Miller and Cora Adline Thomas Miller; husband, James Edward Kelly.
Surviving Mrs. Kelly are her sons, Carroll Kelly of Rock Hill, Thomas Kelly of Maryville, TN; her daughter, Peggy Kelly Pace of Greenville, NC; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2003 at Laurelwood cemetery with Rev. Tim Boan officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 23 from 7:00 until 8:30 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and at other times at the home of her son, Carroll Kelly, 717 Greenbriar Ave., Rock Hill, SC. Memorials may be made to York County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs, 7900 Park Place Rd., York, SC 29745.

CHARLES RAY MCKENZIE
Charles Ray McKenzie, age 64 of Walland passed away Tuesday afternoon January 21, 2003 at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee, Knoxville. Veteran of the U.S. Army. preceded in death by parents, Gay and Beulah McKenzie; brother, Raymond McKenzie.
Survivors, wife, Betty Ruth Maynard McKenzie; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Anne Boring of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Mikey Shofner of Walland; grandchildren, Chailey, Kelly, Casey, Michael, Sam, Carey, Katie; great-grandchildren, Tanner, and soon-to-be Ethan; sister, Edna Magness of Maryville; brothers, Kenneth McKenzie of Maryville, Reed Philpot of Rockford; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2003 Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Interment 2:00 p.m. Friday at Forest Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

VIOLA T. ROBERTS
Viola T. Roberts, age 81 of Greenback passed away Tuesday evening, January 21, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by husband, Carter Roberts Jr.; daughter, Phyllis Dagley; granddaughter, Angela Gay Hitson; parents, William Ambrose and Hettie Mae Tipton; brother, Chester Tipton.
Survivors: daughter, Sharon Hitson of Greenback; grandsons, Michael Dagley and wife, Misty Dagley of Walland, Tony Hitson and wife, Shana Hitson of Maryville; granddaughter, Karen Dagley Hastings and husband, Todd Hastings of Greenville, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Marcus Dagley, Derek Hastings, Ethan Lowe, Ryan Hastings, Gracie Hitson, Natalie Dagley; son-in-law, Clyde Dagley of Alcoa; sisters, Iva Layman of California, Irene Willocks of Maryville, Edna Kagley of Maryville, Faye Gooch of Maryville, Lois Yearout of Maryville, Gerry West of Ohio; brothers, Edward Tipton, Wayne Tipton both of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.

JAMES R. `BUD' WALKER
James R. "Bud" Walker, age 65 of Maryville, died Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by: father, John G. Walker; wife, Jeanie Walker.
Survivors include: daughters, Rhonda Walker DeBoard and husband Dr. Tim DeBoard of Michigan, and Lesa Walker Weeks and husband Jerry of Maryville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Bernice Walker; brothers, Micky Walker and John R. Walker both of Maryville; special friend, Ginger Tipton; nephew, John M. Walker and other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 11:30 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2003 at Piney Level Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. George Macht officiating. KING, LUTHER DAVIS 'L.D., ' 65, Wears Valley, died Monday, Jan. 20, as a result of cancer.
Survivors include wife, Bessie Frye King; daughter, Sandy Norton, Maryville; brother, Jack King, Seymour; sister, Billie Suttles, Maryville; granddaughter; and stepson, Dennis Trentham.
Funeral service was 7 p.m. Tuesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Interment will be 11 a.m. today in Valley View Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.

McKENZIE, CHARLES R., 64, Walland, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Miller Funeral Home.

WANDA MAEBELL CAMPBELL

Wanda Maebell Campbell, age 62, of Maryville passed away Monday morning January 20, 2003, at the family home. Member of Rocky Branch Holiness Church. She loved music and she loved her church. preceded in death by father, Lee Jennings.
Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Donnie Cupp of Maryville, Karan and Mark Dixon of Rockford; grandchildren, Jacob Cupp, Rachel Cupp, Tabitha Dixon, Robin Dixon, Timothy James Dixon; mother, Anna Lou Maples Jennings of Maryville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean and Gen Jennings of Maryville, Pink and Judy Jennings of Maryville; sister, Betty Campbell of Alcoa; sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Paul Lovin of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Wendell Murphy of Maryville.
Funeral service 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2003, Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Robert Jennings, Rev. Carl White officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Thursday morning at Hillcrest Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

KATHERINE SMITH SIMPSON DRY
Katherine Smith Simpson Dry of Sun City, Arizona, died January 15, 2003, at Sun Health Hospice in Peoria, Arizona. Kaye was born at Kiser Station in Blount County and graduated from Friendsville High School. She attended Tennessee Weslyan College and met and married Douglas Simpson while a student there. They moved to Arizona a few years after. Mr. Simpson died in Winslow, Arizona, in 1970.
Kaye is survived by her husband, M. Leon Dry; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Lawrence Hudson of Peoria, Arizona; sons, Sam Simpson of Woodway, Texas and Jeff Simpson of Scotsdale, Arizona, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers, Kreis Smith of Stamford, CT, Glen (Aileen) Smith of Atlanta, John (Janet) Smith of Maryville; and sister, Dora Lynn and husband Robert Kryder of Knoxville.
A memorial service is planned at the Olive Branch Senior Center in Sun City, Arizona January 24.

CONRAD MALCOM ELLIS
Conrad Malcom Ellis, age 71 of Maryville passed away Monday morning January 20, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of Alcoa/Maryville Church of God. Retired from General Motors, Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors: wife, Jacqulynn Browning Ellis; daughters and sons-in-law, Lola and Ted Crain of Maryville, Lisa Whitcombe of Flint, Michigan, Constance Ellis of Flint Michigan; sons and daughters-in-law, Marcus and Darla Ellis, Marshall W. and Marlene Ellis all of Flint Michigan; grandchildren, Stephanie, Angel, Melissa, Michelle, Holly, Autumn, Tracy, Jessie, Jonathan, Amber, Jacob; great-grandchildren, Calum, Maryah, Riley, Alex; sisters, Betty Jo Lafon of Flint Michigan, Karen Sue Ellis, Margaret Ann Lusk both of West Virginia; brothers, Jerry Ellis of Michigan, John Ellis of Texas, Bernard Ellis of Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2003, Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Samuel Youngblood officiating. Family and friends will meet at New Gray cemetery in Knoxville at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

KATHRYN DUNN HARRISON
Kathryn Dunn Harrison, age 87 of Maryville died Tuesday, January 21, 2003, at Asbury Acres Health Center. She was one of the oldest members of Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church. She worked at The Bank of Maryville for many years. preceded in death by parents, Patrick and Lewella Dunn; sister, Grace Dunn; brother, Clifton Dunn.
Survivors include husband, Frank Harrison; brothers, Calvin Dunn and John Dunn both of Townsend; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral Service will be 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2003, in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Ken Abbott officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2003, at Tuckaleechee UMC cemetery for the Interment. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m Wednesday at Smith Mortuary, 983-1000.

ELLEN TRENTHAM JOHNSON
Ellen Trentham Johnson, age 77 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Rockford Baptist Church and preceded in death by husband, Edward Johnson; parents, James Wilson Trentham and Mary Spurling Trentham; six sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include, sons, Gary Johnson of Memphis and Larry Johnson of Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Rose Johnson of Memphis; daughter, Shirley Fox of Maryville; 7 grandsons; sister-in-law, Lucille Johnson of Rockford; brother-in-law, Floyd Teaster of Maryville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2003, at Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Clarence Durham officiating. Interment to follow at Clark's Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

FRANCES LUCILLE MILES
Frances Lucille Miles, age 84 of Maryville died Sunday, January 19, 2003, at Colonial Hills Nursing Home. She was an active member of Everett Hills Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 50 years. preceded in death by: parents, William and Lilly Crouch.
Survivors include: husband of 67 Years, Earl A. Miles; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Toni Miles of Maryville and David and Marilyn Miles of Friendsville; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and John Garrett of Louisville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2003, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Dr. Allen Raines officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2003, at Grandview cemetery for the interment. Memorial donations may be made to: Everett Hills Baptist Church, 401 S.
