ELIZA JANE `EJ' MYERS
Eliza Jane "EJ" Myers, of Maryville, passed away Friday, June 30, 2006, at Baptist Hospital West. She was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Bonnie Long Myers; sister, Becky Myers Lee; brother, Tony Joe Myers.
Survivors include her sister, Jerry L. Myers of Alcoa; brothers, Larry Myers of Maryville, Michael Myers of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; one great-niece and one great-great-nephew; many close family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 2, at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Leamon officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church following the service.

BETTYE CAIN WILLIAMS TAYLOR
Bettye Cain Williams Taylor, age 78 of Alcoa was called to Heaven on June 29, 2006. She was born November 3, 1927 in Lynch, Kentucky. She worked as a hairdresser, drove trucks for Crete, worked with mentally handicapped people, loved working at K-Mart, and as an emergency aide in the hospital. She was a beautiful quilter, enjoyed cooking, fantastic dancer and most especially spending time with her family. She enjoyed attending and loved everyone at West View Wesleyan Church, Knoxville. preceded in death by her beloved parents, Avery E. and Mary Alice (Cain) White; Beloved wife of the late Bobby James Taylor of Alcoa; daughter-in-law and dearest friend of Chrissie Bradburn Taylor of Alcoa. Loving mother to Anita Louise (Williams) Duplantier of Alcoa, Kenneth Avery Williams of Maryville, Gary Allen Williams, Cheryl Ann (Williams) Honeycutt of Georgia, and the late Bobby James Taylor Jr. of Maryville. Cherished Nana to five grandchildren, Ryland Keith Paval and Kerry Lynn (Paval) Jesiel, Robby Mainor, Linzie Mainor, Tessa Gautreaux and favorite granddog, Dolly of Georgia. Proud Nana of twelve great-grandchildren, Sharon, Shane, Tyler, Austin, Devyn and Kiara Jesiel, Ryland, Logan, Duncan and Brianna Paval, Dru and Daniel Duffy. Dearest sister of the late Lewis White, the late Don White, Bobby Lee White of Wyoming, Marie (White) Nelson of Michigan, the late Billie (White) Simpson, and the late Geraldine (White) Addison; sister-in-law Pat Knight White; mother-in-law of Robert Honeycutt of Georgia, Konnie Taylor of Maryville; special friend, Ben Williams. For all the dearhearts who have touched her life in so many ways. She will forever be in our hearts. The funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Mayhle officiating. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, at Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

WINNIE `HAZEL' WHITE
Winnie 'Hazel' White, age 83, of Walland, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. She was a member of West Millers Cove Primitive Baptist Church in Walland. preceded in death by parents, Dockie Alice Young and Harrison Rathburn; sisters, Loraine Hurst and Reba Jones; brother, Ray Young; son-in-law, John E. Smith; and great-granddaughter, Madsion Anne Hedberg.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Walter White, of Walland; daughters, Freddie Smith, of Knoxville, Shirley White, of Stone Mountain, Ga.; son, Michael White and his wife Brenda, of Walland; she also leaves behind a grandson, Ricky Holt and his wife Debbie, of Walland; granddaughters, Sherri Hedberg and husband Bill, of Maryville, Traci Shearer and husband Tony, of Valdosta, Ga., Amy Elder and husband Ebo, of Newnan, Ga., and Bethany White, of Newnan, Ga.; she also will be missed by her great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Jenny and Colton Hedberg, Caleb and Emily Shearer, Mattie and Abbie Elder, Heather Goins and her daughter Keilci as well as her many honorary grandchildren at Colonial Hills; sisters, Charlene Cleveland and husband Wendell, of Elberton, Ga., Isabelle Payton and husband Bill, of Elberton, Ga.; brother, Donnie Young and wife Fran, of Elberton, Ga.; special friends, Kaye Campbell, Nell Elmore, Angie Davis and Marie McClanahan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Hazel was born in Sevier County, lived Zion, Ill., and returned to Walland where she lived for over 60 years. She met her husband of 65 years at a high school basketball game. She was an avid sports fan and supporter of the Walland High School girls basketball team for over 20 years. She enjoyed sewing and crafts. She worked at the Oak Ridge Nuclear Plant during WWII while her husband served in Europe. She also spent time raising ducks. She and her husband donated and released the first ducks at the Greenbelt Pond in Maryville. She devoted her life to her husband and raising her three children. She also took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved everyone with her whole heart. Her family would like to thank everyone who cared for her and prayed for her. We all feel blessed to have been touched by her life.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel with Michael White and Rev. Milburn White officiating. Entombment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

Jack Eldon Headrick, age 75, of Cherry Log, Ga., formerly of Wears Valley, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at the family home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. preceded in death by his parents, Harley E. and Alma Evelyn King Headrick. He is survived by his wife, Alma Rhea Huskey Headrick; daughter, Janet Kay Headrick, of Cherry Log, Ga.; brothers-in-law, Jack and Wayne Huskey, both of Maryville and Benny Huskey, of Greenback; sisters-in-law, Kay Gorham, of Florida, Eva Welch, of Georgia, Barbara Janin, of Virginia, and Mary Francella, of Maryville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel with the interment to follow at Liberty Baptist Cemetery, Rev. Billy Carrigan officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

Zula Mae Reneau Hutsell, age 81 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Maryville Healthcare Center. She was a member of East Maryville Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mae Reneau; brothers, Clay, Paul and Elmer; sisters, Pearl Crawford, Beulah Huffstetler.

TITTSWORTH, ELLEN ELIZABETH, 101, Jefferson City, died Thursday, July 13, 2006. Sister: Frances T. (Mrs. Ned) Wiley. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City. A register book will be available at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.

MARJORIE STAPLETON AUSMUS
Marjorie Stapleton Ausmus, age 68, of Knoxville, passed away on Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. She was a member of Second United Methodist Church. Marjorie touched many lives and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. preceded in death by parents, Creed and Barbara Stapleton, and nephew, Mike Rector. Survivors include: loving husband of 49 years, Jim Ausmus; daughters; Jimmie Sue Ausmus, Janet Ausmus Williams and husband, Rick; granddaughter, Logan Williams; sisters, Loraine and husband, Dick Rector, and Susan and husband, Randy Campbell; nephews; Tommy Rector, Chris and Donna Rector, Ian Campbell, and Garrett Campbell; great-nieces; Kelsey and Kaleigh; and great-nephew, Rick. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Bruce Avery and his staff for their care and kindness. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. Wilma Irene Owenby Bowers, age 82, of Walland, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born in Elkmont on March 16, 1924. Wilma was a charter member of Oak View Baptist Church and a member of the Chilhowee Chapter No. 450 Order of the Eastern Star. preceded in death by: husband, William Thomas (W.T.) Bowers Jr. (passed away Aug. 11, 1976); parents, Hubert and Cora Owenby; brother, Glen Owenby; daughter, Charlotte Bowers Mynatt; brother-in-law, Joe Bowers; great-granddaughter, Railee Bowers. Survivors include: son, William Thomas (Tom) Bowers III and wife, Charlotte, of Walland; grandchildren, Brad Bowers and wife, Missy; Kristi Bowers Yates and husband, Marty; Brent Mynatt; great-grandchildren, Gracie Bowers, Lendi Yates, Lee Yates and Landry Yates; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley and Lib Owenby, of Walland, Don and Jimmie Owenby, of Chattanooga, and Bruce and Mae Owenby, of Maryville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jewell and Harold Headrick, of Chattanooga, Louise and Gerald Dixon, of Seymour, and Lorene and Lloyd Wilhite, of Maryville; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bowers Keeble; son-in-law, Charlie Mynatt; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special friends and relatives. LYNDA DIANE HATCHER
Lynda Diane Hatcher, age 44, of Maryville, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. preceded in death by: parents, James and Dot Hatcher. Survivors include: friends, Vickie Smith, Mollie Nicholson and Pat Lee, all of Maryville; several aunts and cousins; beloved cat Megan. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 1 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006 at Grandview cemetery with Father Alex Waraksa officiating. BOBBIE MOORE LOGGINS
Bobbie Moore Loggins, age 69, passed away Aug. 10, 2006. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She graduated from Alcoa High School where she was active in the band. After graduating from high school, she went to Blount Memorial Hospital where she trained and then worked as a medical technician for many years. She is preceded in death by her mother, Nola Spangler Moore, and her father, Carl Robert Moore. She is survived by an aunt, Stella Spangler Baldwin; cousin, Mack Baldwin and wife, Yvonne, of McDonough, Ga.; and cousin, Allen Wilkinson and wife, Hallie, of Clinton; and many friends. Funeral Rosary will be at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, with Father Alex Waraksa. Receiving of friends will be from 10-11 a.m. with Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment.

ELMO THOMAS TIPTON
Elmo Thomas Tipton, age 69, of Gatlinburg, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Alcoa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Vicie Tipton; brother, Leon Tipton; and sister-in-law, Jean Tipton. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy Tipton; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Kathy Tipton, of Sevierville; grandchildren, Montana, Christopher and Alex; brother, Duanie Tipton, of Maryville; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Bill Malone, of Maryville; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at Piney Level cemetery for the graveside service and interment, Rev. Bill Merritt officiating. MABLE COULTER BROYLES
Mable Coulter Broyles, age 90 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Shannondale Nursing Home. She was a member of West Maryville Baptist Church and a Volunteer at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by her first husband, Horace Coulter; second husband, Ross Broyles; son, David Coulter. Survivors include her daughter, Anne Dolores Coulter Colvin of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Coulter and Dave Johnson of Nashville; grandsons, Mark Johnson and Steve Coulter and wife, Amanda; granddaughter, Lori Coulter Davis and husband, David; great-grandchildren, Olivia Johnson and Zachary Davis; sisters, Anna Lee Loveday and Imogene Loveday both of Maryville; daughter-in-law, Brenda Coulter of Friendsville; step children, June and Eddie Dillard, Jane and Archie Clark, and Jerry Broyles and wife; several nieces, nephews and cousins. JERRY KEEN KERR
Jerry Keen Kerr, age 71 of Hendersonville, TN, formerly of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at his home in Hendersonville. He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, was a graduate of Maryville High School, where he played football, and was a graduate of Georgia Tech. He was a retired architect from Tampa, FL, who moved to Hendersonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O. Frank and Virginia Keen Kerr.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lambert Kerr; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Louise Kerr of Fountain Run, KY; son, Tommy Lambert Kerr of Adairsville, GA; grandsons, Austin Kerr and Houston Kerr.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Magnolia cemetery with Rev. Dan Moore officiating and Seth Kerr, giving the Eulogy.

MILTON TAYLOR NORRIS
Milton Taylor Norris died Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was 52 years old.
Milton was born July 23, 1954 in Alcoa, TN and was the son of the late Lee Norris and the late Inez Williams Miller. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Jack Miller. He was a graduate of Alcoa High School and a veteran of the United States Navy. He is survived by his devoted friend Renee Mahone-Davis; two daughters, Markeeta Robinson and Jasmine Norris; four brothers, Lester Williams, Lamar Norris, Walter (Tabitha) Miller and Michael Jordan; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind special friends, Teresa Wells, Jimmie (Gaynell) Ferguson, Donna Dunnings, Anthony (Shelley) Dunnings, Gaye Julian, Pat Knox, Jack Young and A.B.B. (Alcoa Biker Brothaz). He will be sadly missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Rest Haven Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Turney officiating and Rev. Anthony Dunnings giving the Eulogy.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Foothills Funeral Home for final expenses.

REV. MICHAEL L. PEARSON
Rev. Michael L. Pearson, age 57 of Lebanon, TN went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 9, 2006. He was born April 20, 1949 in Maryville, TN. Rev. Pearson pastored Tennessee churches in Seymour, Knoxville and Liberty. He also carried out his passion for missions by serving as Director of Missions of the New Salem Baptist Association in Smith County, Clinton Baptist Association and for the past 10 years in Wilson County Baptist Association. He was Chairman of the Board of the Tennessee Drug Awareness Council. He was preceded in death by: parents, Norman and Blanche Pearson; sisters, Geneva Beth Pearson, Nadine Sands, Karen Klecz, and Margaret Sands. Survivors include: devoted wife of 34 years, Elaine Keller Pearson; daughter, Jenice Pearson of Oak Ridge; brother, Kevin Pearson & wife Carol of Louisville; sister, Anita Debuty & husband Al of Maryville; several nieces, nephews, and numerous honorary 'adopted' sons, daughters, and grandchildren. A service in celebration of his life will be conducted by Dr. Ronnie Owens and Dr. Steve McDonald on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. Receiving of friends will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. with the service at 7:00 at the church. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2006 at East Maryville Baptist Church Cemetery. A memorial celebration service will be conducted by Rev. Jonas Taylor and Rev. Don McElroy on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Lebanon. Receiving of friends will be from 5:00 until 7:30 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the Tennessee Drug Awareness Council, the Emergency Personnel Service, and the Tennessee In Touch Endowment Fund of Tennessee WMU.
