Mildred Nora Caughron Boling, age 84 of Maryville, passed away Friday morning, November 3, 2000 at Asbury Acres Health Care Center. She was of the Baptist faith. preceded in death by husband, Clarence O. Boling; son, Gene Clarence Boling; parents, Bruce Delozier and Addie Frances Caughron; brothers, Cleophus, Homer, Conley and Bruce Jr. Caughron; sisters, Gladys Hicks, Zelma Vaughn, Trula Mae Arwood, Mary Elizabeth Lewis, Blanch and Lucille Caughron.

Tura Mae 'Mom Binkley' Binkley, age 94 of Maryville, died at 4:15 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2000 at Maryville Health Care Center. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. She served the Lord in the Baptist ministry with her husband for many years in Newport, Middle Tennessee and Maryville areas. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vollie Hudgens, and infant twin sons; second husband of 52 years, Rev. C.O Binkley; son-in-law, Fred L. Graves Sr.; great-grandson, Donald Lee Graves.
Survivors: daughters, Margaret Graves of Maryville and Eloise Wiley of Newport; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Jaeda Marie (Oescher) Cody, newborn, passed away suddenly, shortly after birth, on Monday, October 30, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was the beloved daughter of Robert (Malik) Lee Cody, Jr. and Carrie Oescher of Rockford. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Jack W. Oescher of St. Petersburg, FL, Samuel and Gladys Marie Cooley originally of Pittsburgh, PA and then St. Petersburg, FL, Haskel and Betty Brabson of Strawberry Plains and Hulon Cody of Knoxville.

Anjanette Comer, age 35, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2000 at UT Hospital. Member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was a supervisor at Book Market.
Survivors: mother and stepfather, Jean and Larry Claiborne of Gatlinburg; father and stepmother, Richard and Janet Comer of Maryville; sister, Christine Claiborne; grandmother, Polly Wise.

Osie Lee Belcher age 73 of Maryville passed away Tuesday morning, October 31, 2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of Edgewood Primitive Baptist Church; retired from Levi Strauss Co. after 25 years of service; preceded in death by parents, Edgar and Bertha Hicks; sister, Vina Adkins; brother, J.D. Hicks.
Survivors: husband, Ralph L. Belcher; sisters, Ollie McLemore, Geraldine Myers, Mayme Sue Hyatt, all of Maryville; brother, Rufus Hicks.

Robert M. Brown, age 62, of Parrish, Florida, formerly of Maryville, died Friday, October 27, 2000. He was a former member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy and was a graduate of Walland High School. He was President of Speedling Incorporated.

Grace Lavern Johnson Bales, age 68 of Maryville died Friday evening Oct. 27, 2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Isaac (Ike) Bales of Ike's Repair Shop., Parents: Herman and Hazel Curtis Johnson, Sister: Ruth Smith.
Survivors include: Children, Marvin, Howard, Richard; sister, Stella Hanly; brothers, Charles Johnson of Maryville, James Johnson of Downey, Calif.; numerous grandchildren.

Gene Allen Bennett Sr. age 56 of Knoxville, formerly of Louisville, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2000 at Fort Sanders Parkwest Hospital.

Harold Eugene Grant, age 56 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 24, 2000 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was an employee of Mid South Towing Company, Tampa, FL; member of the Maryville Civitan Club; veteran of the U.S. Navy; preceded in death by father, John Thural Grant.

FERGUSON, EDITH, Friendsville, died Monday, Oct. 7, at the family home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Miller Funeral Home.

POWELL, THOMAS, 90, Alcoa, died Monday. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Foothills Funeral Home, Maryville.

SMELCER, NEWELL E., 66, Sevierville, died Saturday, Oct. 5. Survivors: sisters, Ruth Watts, Mae Fox; brothers, Clyde Smelcer, Hugh Smelcer.

Funeral service was 7 p.m. Monday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Interment 10 a.m. today in Murphy's Chapel Cemetery. The family received friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.

SWANSON, HAZEL WELCH IRWIN, 79, Maryville, died Monday, Oct. 7, at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Miller Funeral Home.

Georgie Lee (Toot) Anthony, age 54 of Maryville, died Sunday, October 22, 2000 at her home. She was preceded in death by her father, George Littleton; granddaughter, Hope Clark; first husband, Dan Jensen.

EURE, MARY HOBBS, 70, longtime resident of Gates County, N.C., died Sunday, Oct. 15, in Maryville. - 10/26/00
Survivors: daughters, Nancy Cordano of Kernersville, N.C., and Becky Rhodes of Maryville; two grandchildren.

Walter Ealy Daffron Sr., age 83 of Alcoa died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Member of Prudentia Lodge F&AM #719, Pride Council #103 and 32nd Degree Mason. Retired from ALCOA and a member of their 25-Year Club. Mr. Daffron is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Myrtle Powell Daffron; also parents, Walter Ealy Daffron and Lillie Blair Daffron Moore; two brothers, Earl and Leon Daffron.

BURNS, LURLINE McFARLAND, 87, Townsend, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000 at Colonial Hills Nursing Home. She was a teacher in the Alcoa School System. - 12/03/00
Survivors: husband, Herbert Burns; sons, Dr. Ralph Burns of Clarendon Hills, Ill., and Dr. Gerald Burns of Nashville; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth McFarland of Gasden, Ala.; several nieces and nephews.

GARLAND, FRANCES, 80, Maryville, died Thursday, Nov. 30, at Fairpark Health Center. - 12/02/00
Survivors: sons, Roland Moore of Smyrna and David Moore of Maryville; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Mary Louise Goddard, age 79, of South Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2000, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. Member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by husband, Shell Goddard; parents, John and Josephine Palumbo; brothers, Michael and Anthony Palumbo; sister, Josephine Rinderknecht.

Tersa Dawn Clabough, age 39, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Elizabeth Utley.
Survivors: daughters, Jodie Nicole Clabough and Christina Elizabeth Clabough; sons, Joseph Eugene Clabough and Christopher Dwayne Clabough, all of Rockford; one granddaughter; father, Elbert Utley of Spring City; brother, Wayne Utley of Strawberry Plains; sister, Audrey Gail Cooper of Knoxville.

Penny Sue Devine, age 49 of Friendsville, passed away Monday, November 27, 2000 at the family home. preceded in death by parents, Melvin and Ruby Clabough.
Survivors: husband, Ray Devine; sons, Jimmy Everett and Jason Devine, both of Maryville; daughters, Selena and Amanda Devine, both of Maryville; five grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Bradburn; several other brothers and sisters.

DRINNEN, BILLY GENE, 56 of Maryville, died Sunday at Blount Memorial Hospital. He operated Drinnen Trucking Company and was a longtime contractor of the United States Postal Service. - 11/28/00
He is survived by his father and step-mother, Ray and Mary Drinnen of Maryville; brother, Bobby Ray Drinnen of Goldsboro, N.C., Dewayne Drinnen of Lenoir City; step-brother, Tommy Brown of Lenoir City; step-sisters, Joyce Logan of Lenoir City, Brenda Sue Brown of Lenoir City, Nancy McNabb of Maryville and Melinda Kirby of Maryville.

Renato Raymond Caravelli, age 73 of Maryville passed away Sunday, November 26, 2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a WWII Veteran and retired from both Atlantic Richfield and Century 21 Real Estate.
Survivors include: wife, Norma Ruth Caravelli of Maryville; daughters, Joyce Loomis of Port Richey, Fla., Karen Russel of Lutz, Fla., Donna Russel of Maryville; sister, Gertrude Richardson of Scotrun, Pa.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Charles E. Jodray, age 69 of Maryville, passed away at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith, a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He was employed by B.T.R. preceded in death by parents, Garfield and Evedani Jodray.

Edna June Best age 73 of Madisonville formerly of Maryville died Thursday, November 23, 2000, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Oscar and Ella Mae Wilson Best; brothers, John and Boyd Best; sisters, Jessie Ridge, and Irene Borden.
Survivors: brothers: Warren Otto of Alcoa, Sam Best of Maryville; sisters, Una V. Witt of Knoxville and Juanita Cagle of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.

MARSH, LILLIAN LOUISE, 76, Maryville, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000 at Life Care of Greeneville. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Miller Funeral Home.

Fred O. Coleman, age 85 of Maryville, passed away Monday morning, November 20, 2000, at the family home. Member of Dotson Memorial Baptist Church; Unitia Masonic Lodge #295 F&AM in Friendsville; retired from ALCOA and member of the 25 year club; preceded in death by son, Fred Coleman Jr.; parents, Spencer and Roxie Mashburn Coleman; brothers, Ernest and Ed Coleman; sisters, Ida Lovingood, Emma Martin, Ellie Weeks, and Addie McDonald.

COURRIER, GROVER L., 48, Lenoir City, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Park West Medical Center. He was employed at Jack Nelson Oldsmobile. - 11/22/00
Survivors: wife Coretta Courrier; son Joey Courrier of Marietta, Ga.; one granddaughter; stepchildren, Kim Pierpont of Lenoir City, Jim Mahoney of New York; one step-granddaughter; mother, Rosice Mae Courrier of Lenoir City; brothers, Billy Joe Courrier of Lenoir City, Benjamin Franklin Courrier of Louisville, Michael Edward Courrier of Marietta, Ga.; sisters, Mary Florence Kerr of Sevierville, Marie Tinsley of Marietta, Ga.

Carolyn Sue Purdy Bullers, age 50, of Sweetwater, passed away, Sunday, November 19, 2000, at Fort Sanders Parkwest Hospital. Employee of River Oaks Convalescent Center, attended Fenders United Methodist Church.
Survivors include husband, Mike Bullers; daughter, Tammie Alexander, Philadelphia; son, Ronnie Gribble; stepson, Michael Bullers, Maryville; stepdaughter, Debra Cashin, Knoxville; seven grandchildren; sister, Virginia West, Loudon.

Edwin 'Ham' Alexander Hammontree, age 87 of Maryville, died Saturday November 18, 2000 at the family home. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Maryville since 1947. He was a 1990 distinguished member. He served as president and teacher of the Wesley Barnhill Sunday School Class. He served on the Administrative Board, Board of Trustee, Budget Program, and building fund campaigns.
