DEATH AND FUNERAL NOTICE: INA NELL HARRISON Ina Nell Harrison, age 88, of Appalachian Christian Village, formerly of 411 S. Main Street, Elizabethton, died in Elizabethton Wednesday July 23, 2003 following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Cozette Blackburn Hinkle. She was a member of First Christian Church Elizabethton. Ms. Harrison was a former employee for Bemberg Corporation and former secretary for Boome Real Estate. She was also secretary and treasurer for Textile Workers Union Local #2207. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Galliher and Hannah Nave. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jean and Col. James B. Ramsey, Austin, TX, one grandson and spouse, James Ramsey, IV and Terry, of Dallas, TX, one granddaughter, Bonnie Beth Ramsey, Austin, TX, two great grandsons, James Ramsey V, and spouse, Michelle, Grand Prairie, TX, Michael Ramsey, Mt. Vernon, TX, one great great granddaughter, Ally Ramsey, Grand Prairie, TX, special friends, Grace Broome, Diane Nave, Bonnie Moore, Teresa Clement and Leslie Meredith, several nieces and nephews also survive. The graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Dr. Don Marshall, Minister officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Nave, David Galliher, Gary Nave, Jeff Nave, Sandy Nave, Derek Nave, Chris Galliher, Hugh Clement and Gene Simerly. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:55 p.m. on Sunday. Gertrude Lane, age 87, 1204 Broad Street Extension, Elizabethton, TN died Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at The Cambridge House, Bristol, VA following a brief illness. A native of Welch, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William Milton & Bertha Elizabeth Patterson Woody. Mrs. Lane was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church, Elizabethton. She was an RN having previously worked at the Franklin Clinic and the Carter County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Lane is preceded in death by three sisters. She is survived by her husband, Walter Earl Lane, of the home; one son, Thomas Banner, Elizabethton; one stepson, Ronald Lane, Texas; one stepdaughter, Esther Herd, Texas; & one sister, Demple Jones, Ohio. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 15th in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Stout officiating. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 16th at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 A.M. for the graveside service. OBITUARY AND FUNERAL NOTICE FOR EDNA BIRCHFIELD HONEYCUTT Edna Birchfield Honeycutt, age 79, of Hampton Creek, Roan Mountain went to be with Jesus on August 2, 2003. She was the daughter of the late Laos and Lydia Birchfield and was a life long resident of Roan Mountain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Honeycutt in 1996. She attended Roan Mountain Holiness Church and was faithful to God and her family. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Jane Honeycutt, Huntsville, AL, two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Jim Hooker, Johnson City, TN, Leta and Douglas Campbell, Roan Mountain, four grandchildren, Glen Honeycutt, Carol Honeycutt, Crissy Honeycutt, all of Huntsville, AL, Tia Campbell, Roan Mountain, Destiny Campbell-Whisnant, Roan Mountain, six great grandchildren, all of AL, one great grandchild, Italy, several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, at Roan Mountain Holiness Church, with Rev. Don Julian and Rev. Jeff Davis officiating. OBITUARY & FUNERAL NOTICE DR. JULIAN TERRELL CAUDILL, SR. Dr. Julian Terrell Caudill, Sr., age 84, 514 Caudill Place, Elizabethton, died Sunday, August 3, 2003 at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Narrows, VA, he was the son of the late Dr. Estell Leftridge “E.L.” & Flora Weatherly Caudill, Sr. Dr. Caudill was a 1940 graduate of the University of North Carolina and a 1951 graduate of the University of Florida School of Pharmacy. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton. Dr. Caudill & his wife, who is also a pharmacist, owned & operated Watauga Pharmacy in Elizabethton for 29 years. He was a member of the Elizabethton Rotary Club of Elizabethton, having 48 years of perfect attendance. He was also a Paul Harris Fellow. Dr. Caudill was a member of the Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238 F & AM, the Scottish Rite and the Jericho Shrine Temple. He was a member of the Board of Directors at Security Federal Savings Bank. Dr. Caudill was a World War II army veteran having served in New Guinea & the Philippines in counter intelligence and was with the First Occupational Forces in Japan during World War II. He is preceded in death by one son Terry Caudill; one brother, Dr. E.L. Caudill, Jr. Survivors include, his wife, Dr. Altajane Holden Caudill, of the home; one son, Tom Caudill, Dayton, OH; one daughter & son-in-law, Carolyn Caudill Hazelwood & Kail Hazelwood, Knoxville, TN; three granddaughters, Mara Caudill, Lacayes Haiti; Caryle Clark, Elizabethton; Casey Ross, San Diego, CA; one great grandson, Cannon Michael Clark, Elizabethton, Tn.; one daughter-in-law, Charlotte Caudill, Elizabethton; one sister, Peggy Weiss, Asheville, NC; two special friends, Virginia Caudill, Dayton, OH, and Rhadchanee Ruth, Chicago, IL. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Paul McKinley & Lurlie Clark Miller. Mrs. Davenport was a member of Little Milligan Baptist Church and a retired seamstress. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Shoun; a grandson, Cecil H. Bradshaw; one brother, Harold Miller; one sister, Brenda Thompson. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Earnest C. and June Lafell Heaton Davidson. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Mr. Davidson was a Correctional Officer for the State of Tennessee, Department of Corrections. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam and Korea. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Davidson. Survivors include his wife, Virginai Cornett Manz Davidson, of the home, one daughter, Susan Richardson, Elizabethton, two sons, Kenneth Davidson, Tony Davidson, both of Elizabethton, two step-sons, Nicholas Manz, Elizabethton, Steven Manz, Oliver Springs, TN, three sisters, Brenda Foster, Joan Kiser, both of Elizabethton, Barbara Dugger, Powell, TN, four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Faye Egolf and one brother Lewis Egolf. Ruth Milam Rouse, age 94, formerly of 137 Ruby Ave., Elizabethton, died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at the home of a daughter, Helen Tester, 4001 Navaho Dr., Johnson City following an extended illness. A native of Johnson County, Mrs. Rouse had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was the daughter of the late T.A. & Mae Ray Milam. Mrs. Rouse was a member of Doe River Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death on January 10, 1983, by her husband, Benjamin P. Rouse; a son, Wade Rouse; two sisters; four brothers; two great grandchildren & two sons-in-law. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Tester of Johnson City and Jean Campbell of Elizabethton; a brother, Charles Milam of Johnson City; two sisters, Pauline McJunkin & Sue Campbell both of Elizabethton; four grandchildren & spouses, Ruth & Rev. Harold McNabb of Unicoi, Gay & Denny Friday of Gray; Wade & Viki Campbell & Lynn Campbell all of Elizabethton; 11 great grandchildren, Lisa Jones of Unicoi, Renee McNeal of Elizabethton, Charles McNabb and Benjamin McNabb both of Johnson City, Becky Friday and Jamey Friday, both of Gray, Suzanne Friday-Vannoy, Stephanie Shouse, Staci Peters and Kristi Zimmerman, all of Elizabethton, and Keri Perry of Germany; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Survivors include four sons, Timothy Clipse, Bristol, TN, Joey Clipse, Kingsport, Jermey Clipse, Gloucester, VA, Jeffery Clipse, Kingsport, one daugher, Marilyn Disher, Roan Mountain, former wife, Karen Clipse, Bristol, TN, and one uncle, Nelson Morgan, Roan Mountain also survive.
