ANNA BELLE CLEMONS ISAACS Anna Belle Clemons Isaacs, age 93, 229 Sand Mine Road, Elizabethton died Thursday, July 01, 2004 at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late William and Carrie Hayes Clemons. She was a charter member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Carroll Isaacs, 1977, one daughter, Margie Lowe, four grandsons, Carroll Bowling, Lynn Isaacs, Mark Sams, and Bill Isaacs, Jr., one brother, Isaac Clemons one half-brother, Ben Clemons, and one half-sister, Rebecca Clemons. Survivors include three daughters and four sons-in-law, Lillian and Elmer Bowling, Faye and Ed Younce, Tonie and Jim Sams, Harold Lowe, all of Elizabethton, two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Mildred Isaacs, Ralph and Lucy Isaacs, all of Elizabethton, sixteen grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, 29 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2004 at Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Haskel Ingram officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Younce Trio. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service or friends may call at any time at any of the children’s homes. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 4, at Emmert Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mark Lowe, Rick Younce, Jimmy Sams, Keith Lowe, Dale Bowling, Freddie Bowling, Jackie Bowling and Tim Isaacs. Honorary pallbearers will be Staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton and a special thank you to Jennifer Ensor. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home chapel at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. GLENNY SITTON Glenny Sitton, age 76, 155 Stockton Rd., Roan Mountain, died at her residence, Saturday, June 26, 2004, following a brief illness. A native of Hunnington Beach , CA, and a former residence of Nacodoches, TX and had lived in Roan Mountain for the past twenty-one years, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Estes and Essie Blanche Park Plowman. Mrs. Sitton was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Nacodoches, TX and an associate member of First Baptist Church, Roan Mountain. Survivors include her husband, John A. Sitton, Jr., of the home; one daughter, Linda Warczak, Baltimore, MD; one son, John David Sitton, Nacodoches, TX; three grandsons: Thomas Louis, Baltimore, MD, John Louis, PA and Stephen Louis, Plano, TX; Two great-grandchildren: Gaylan, of PA and Maxwell Sinclair Louis, PA; Sister, Wanita Schaper, Galvaston, TX; Brother and Sister-in-law, Vernon Glen and Margie Plowman, Hitchcock, TX; several nieces and nephews also survive. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 10:00 AM - Monday, June 28th at the First Baptist Church, Roan Mountain, with Rev. Richard Stout officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Mable H. Parker, age 89, of 175 H. Heaton Rd., went to be with her Lord Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Avery Co., NC, she was a daughter of the late Delbert and Sallie Furgeson Holtsclaw. Mrs. Parker was a member of Siam Baptist Church and had been an LPN at St. Elizabeth Hospital and retired from Carter County Memorial Hospital. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by one sister, Fannie Heaton, three brothers, Millard Holtsclaw, Rufus Holtsclaw and Dayton Holtsclaw. Survivors include three sisters, Lena J. Ward and Della Mae Maney, both of Elizabethton, Juanita Wortman of Boone, NC, ten nieces and eight nephews. Several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mable H. Parker will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2004 in the Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace with Rev. Mary M. Henegar, age 75, of 523 Dru Lane, Johnson City, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at her home following an illness of one month. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late George and Josie Braswell Henegar. Mrs. Henegar was of the Freewill Baptist faith and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Henegar was preceded in death by her son, Roger Henegar, three brothers, Lee Henegar, George Henegar and Clarence Chambers and eight sisters, Dorothy Andes, Lois Austin, Pearl Babb, Gail Baroni, Ruth Roberts, Verge Henegar, Sally Austin, and Grace Vines. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Sue and Chris Arnett of Elizabethton, and Kathy Muratore of Johnson City; one son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Vickie Henegar of Fall Branch; six grandchildren, James Arnett and Tracey Fox, both of Bluff City, Neil Arnett, Vickie Hilton and Wayne Berry, all of Elizabethton, and Jessica Henegar of Marion, NC. Three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mary M. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mattie Morgan Shell. She was of the Baptist faith and a retired employee of Cannon Memorial Hospital as a Dietician. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Smith in 1957. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Leon Odom, Roan Mountain, two sons, Billy Frank Smith, Roan Mountain, John K. Howard “Speck” Greenwell, age 79, of 191 Old Charity Hill Rd., died Saturday, June 12, 2004 at his residence following an extended illness. Born on Cat Island in Carter County, he was a son of the late Joseph Arthur and Sara Eliza Bowman Greenwell. Mr. Greenwell was a member of East Fairview Free Will Baptist Church and was retired from Inland Container Corp. after 35 years of service as a forklift operator and factory worker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include his wife Anna Mann Greenwell of the home, four daughters and one son-in-law, Carolyn Oliver Bradley, Janice Treadway and Jennifer Calloway, all of Elizabethton and Teresa and Charles Kyle of Palm Coast, FL; six sons and three daughters-in-law, Wayne and Annie Greenwell of Salem, OR, Jimmy and Cora Greenwell, Joseph Greenwell, William Greenwell, Ricky and Melinda Greenwell, all of Elizabethton and Steve Greenwell of Bristol, TN, one aunt, Lizzie Stansberry of Butler. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Yost was a native of Hemphill, West Virginia and was a daughter of the late William and Alice Whaley Tester. She was a member of Westside Christian Church and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Yost. Mrs. Yost is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Dave Rider of the home, one granddaughter, Kim Barnett of Elizabethton, one grandson and his wife, Scott and Patty Rider of Winder, GA, three great-grandsons and their wives, Ryan Witten, Shawn and Katie Witten all of Elizabethton, Jason and Michelle Witten of Coppell, TX; three great-granddaughters, Hannah Rider, Abigail Rider and Emily Rider, all of Winder GA and one sister, Gladys Canard of Martinsville, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive. A native of St. Clair Shores, MI, he had lived in Ohio most of his life. He was the son of the late William Frederick and Louise Isabell Fries Flynn. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a retired engineer from Ford Motor Company. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in Korea. He was a member of V.F.W. in Ohio. Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by two brothers, Eligha Pierce & Ray Pierce; and one sister, Evelyn Richardson. Mr. Pierce is survived by three sisters: Ellen Bradley & Novella Nidiffer, both of Elizabethton; Corine Carden, Lenoir, NC; a special friend, Nancy Tillet, Elizabethton; several nieces & nephews also survive.
