Alexander

80 year old Robert Edward Alexander of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Hospital. He was former owner of Smithville Motors, a member of the Smithville Church of Christ, a member of the Al Menah Shriners and a Mason. The funeral will be Monday at noon at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. E.H. Denman will officiate and burial will be in the Riverside cemetery in Cannon County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmus and Lucille Bragg Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Jean Northcutt Alexander of Smithville. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Jan Alexander and Tom and Joyce Alexander all of Smithville. Four grandchildren, Jenny and her husband Doug Lynch of Georgia, Rob Alexander, David Alexander, and Daniel Alexander all of Smithville. One brother and sister-in-law, John Lee and Jane Alexander of Smithville. Three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean and Robert Drewry, Waldean Mitchell, and Hazel Neely all of Murfreesboro. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Butts

77 year old Hazel C. Butts of Michigan died Thursday at her residence. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Canady Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Butts; one brother, James David Fuson; and a sister, Dorothy Cantrell. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Tom Blach of Michigan. Two nephews, David Cantrell of Michigan and Zane Cantrell of Murfreesboro. Five nieces and nephews survive, including Debra Fuson of Smithville. Several cousins also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.

Mabe

75 year old Guynell Mabe of Smithville died Friday at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma of a short illness. She was a retired shirt factory worker, member of the First Baptist Church, and member of the Order of Eastern Star. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Don Davidson and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Chloie Smith Douglas; a brother, Ruel Douglas; and a sister, Wilma Gilliam. Mabe is survived by her husband, Jewel Mabe of Smithville. Three children, Glenda and her husband Danny Staley of Smithville, Carol Looney of Cartersville, Georgia, and Eddie Mabe of Smithville. Two sisters, Marcella Shaver of Mobile, Alabama and Jo Ann Wrenn of Mount Borough, Alabama. One brother, James D. Douglas of Eva, Alabama. Four grandchildren, Tina Rowland, Don Cripps, Lee Ann Williams, and Jimmy Cripps. Six great grandchildren, Zachary Rowland, Hunter Williams, Caleb Williams, Brittany Cripps, Stormie Cripps, and Chloe Cripps. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.

Fleming

90 year old Cordie M. Fleming of Alexandria died Wednesday at Cedars Health Care in Lebanon. She was a homemaker and a native of Overton County. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the West Main Baptist Church, where she was a member. Philip Lane and Philip Dougan will officiate and burial will be in the Hillview Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until noon. She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Speck and Ollie Virginia Brown Speck; her husband, Ridley Herman Fleming; and brothers, Ezra, Luther, Walter Earl, Jim, Shirley, and Osko Speck. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Smith of Alexandria. A granddaughter and her husband, Connie and Donnie Stroud of Alexandria. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.

Smith

81 year old Louise Hendrixson Smith of Smithville died Wednesday at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville of an extended illness. She was a retired factory worker and a member of the Smithville Church of God. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Clay and Mary Ferrell Emberton; husbands, William Carmon Hendrixson and Clessie Smith; four brothers, Jessie, Harvey, Dean, and Dave Emberton; and two sisters, Josephine Barber and Virginia Young. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Walter Ferrell and Judy and Jerry Johnson all of Smithville. One son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Hendrixson of McMinnville. Two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Helen Emberton and Charlie and Lucille Emberton all of Smithville. Seven grandchildren, Lisa Ferrell, Davey Ferrell, Chad and Jessica Johnson, Jared Hendrixson, Jerry Wayne Hendrixson, and Michael Presley. Eleven great grandchildren survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.

Ford

36 year old Jeffrey Joe Ford of Smithville died Wednesday of a short illness at Baptist Hospital. He was a Cannon County native, a concrete mason, and a member of Faith Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Al Mahan will officiate and burial will be in the Gunter-Grizzle Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Bailey Ford; a brother-in-law, Joshua Caldwell; and grandparents, Lem and Argie Ford and Audie Bailey. He is survived by his parents, Joe and Kim Ford of Smithville. Two sisters, Julie and her husband Jamie McCormick and Amanda Ford of Smithville. His wife, Jennifer Ford of Smithville. A son, Cody Fults of Smithville. His grandmother, Jean Bailey of Smithville. Several aunts, uncles, and cousin also survive. Woodbury Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests that donations be made to Woodbury Funeral Home for expenses in lieu of flowers.

Lawrence

60 year old Kenneth Lawrence of New Hope Road, Alexandria died Saturday at his residence. A graveside service will be held at Hillview Memorial cemetery in Alexandria on Monday at 1:00 p.m. with full military honors. The Lawrence family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria.

Winfree

63 year old Jackie Leonard Winfree of Brush Creek died Friday at the V.A. Medical Center in Nashville. He was a factory worker, Wilson County native, and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Rodger McCann will officiate and burial will be in the Brush Creek cemetery with military honors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Smith Winfree and Minnie Belle Russell Winfree. He is survived by his wife, Annette Winfree of Brush Creek. A sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Harlan Buckner of Watertown. Other survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and prior to the service on Monday.

Whitlock

54 year old Johnny Earl Whitlock of McMinnville died Thursday. He was a retired factory worker, a flea market dealer, and a Warren County native. His parents were the late Casey Lee and Maud Frances Alley Whitlock. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of McMinnville Funeral Home. Butch Martin will officiate and burial will be in the Mount View Cemetery. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Roxanna and Joe Groce of Woodbury. A son and daughter-in-law, Johnathan and Christina Whitlock of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Special friend, Faye Craven of McMinnville. Two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shirley Crouch of McMinnville and Lenia Mai and Mason Smith of McMinnville. Three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert Lee Whitlock of McMinnville, Waymon Morris and Carolyn Whitlock of McMinnville and Ronnie Lewis and Betty Whitlock of Smithville. Six grandchildren, Amber and Ryan Gilbert and Dustin, Aubree, Avery, and Payton Whitlock. McMinnville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Miller

70 year old Jessie Mai Miller died Sunday night at her residence on Jacob's Pillar Road. She was a retired employee of the Smithville Shirt Factory and a Baptist. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Josh Miller will officiate and burial will be in the Banks Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Toy and Nannie Mai Arnold Miller; her husband, Jewel brown Adams; two sons, Ray and Ricky Adams; and two brothers, James and Doris Miller. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Dale Buck of Silver Point. Two sons, David and his wife Tammy Miller and Avion Miller all of Smithville. Eight grandchildren. Seventeen great grandchildren. One brother, Thomas Miller of Smithville. A sister, Betty Jean Atnip of Murfreesboro. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
