Aubrey Love Young

65 year old Aubrey Love Young of Smithville died Sunday at his residence. He was retired from Carrier and was a Pentecostal. The funeral will be Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bratton Tucker and Danny Schofield will officiate and burial will be in the Youngbend Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Forrest and Eula Estill Knowles Young and a brother, Barney Lee Young. Survivors include his wife Donna Rankhorn Young of Smithville. Three daughters, Rebecca (Bekki) and her husband Greg Goats of Nolensville, Wendy and her husband Patrick Conners of Smithville and Julie and her husband Clay Myers of McMinnville. One son, Wayne and his wife Trina Young of Rock Island. Eleven grandchildren and one sister, Estill Ferrell of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dewey Lee Love

85 year old Dewey Lee Love of Smithville died Friday at NHC Healthcare Center. He was a Baptist and he served as Mayor of Smithville from 1986 to 1988. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Don Davidson will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. A Masonic service will be held Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Era Lawrence Love; his wife Margaret Ducker Love; and brothers, Alfred and Alvie Love. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jim Stapp of Smithville. One nephew, Jason Love of Cookeville. He is also survived by Margaret and Rob Bockoven, Tara and Aaron Bockoven, and Chris and Matthew Cantrell all of Smithville. Special caregiver, Gayra Sanders. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that donations be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital or the Real Life Community Church in lieu of flowers.

Viola Schneider Scott

80 year old Viola Schneider Scott of Smithville died Friday at her residence. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, a retired registered nurse, and an employee of Collier Ford. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Dennis Clark will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius Frederick and Meta Roher Schneider. Survivors include three children, Harry Wayne Loveless of Lake Worth, Florida; Lawrence Dale Loveless of Sparta, and Carol Jean Loveless of Chicago, Illinois. One sister, Grace Marie Holverstott of Elijay, Georgia. Six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Vergia Rebecca Blair

88 year old Vergia Rebecca Blair of Smithville died Thursday at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Ricky Arnold and Reed Arnold will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Levet and Estilla Moser Hubbard; her husband, Calvin Blair; a son, Eugene Blair; two brothers, Alton and Alvis Hubbard; and two sisters, Ophie Moser and Nettie Johnson. Survivors include three children, Dean Turner, Paul and his wife Gail Blair, and Brenda and her husband George Colgan all of Smithville. Six grandchildren, Judy Thompson, Rita Franklin, Jill Davis, Scott Turner, Dawn Davis, and Tonnette Boyd. Eighteen great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

57 year old Nina R. Self of McMinnville died Thursday at her residence. She was a member of the Baptist church and a factory worker. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home. Larry Neal and Larry Self will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service. She was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Mai Pedigo Cantrell, a daughter Tammy R. Tate, a nephew Terry E. Miller, and her grandparents. Survivors include her husband, Jimmy L. Self of McMinnville. Her father and step-mother, Alton and Elizabeth Bain of Smithville. Two sons, Timmy L. Bain and Thomas Cripps of McMinnville. A step-daughter, Luann Cantrell of Lebanon. Brothers, James A. Bain of Cookeville, Toy (Buck) and his wife Rose Bain of Smithville and Kenny L. and his wife Deborah Bain of Smithville. Sisters, Sammie D. Hillis, Eva Mai and her husband Jessie Roberts, Annetta Bain, and Doreta Taylor all of McMinnville. Eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 90 year old Dora Margaret Allen, former resident of Alexandria and long time nurse for Lebanon Dr. Sam McFarland, died Tuesday at the Mount Juliet Health Care Center. She was born in Macon County. Allen was also a member of the West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria. A memorial service will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Jeff Hicks will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Allen; a daughter, Jane Allen; a son, Jimmy Allen; her parents, William Dailey Cothron and Elizabeth Carr Cothron; along with two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include three grandchildren, Amy Allen of Lebanon and Christy Allen and Jeremy Allen both of Youngsville, North Carolina. A brother, Ralph and his wife Mary Cothron of Hartsville. Friends and caregivers, Jim and Diane Harkreader of Mount Juliet. Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown is in charge of the arrangements. 44 year old Sandy Annette Jones of Murfreesboro died Tuesday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She worked in retail sales. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.. She is survived by her mother, Cecil Thweatt Kier of Las Vegas, Nevada. Her father, Mike Jennings of Murfreesboro. A brother, Tony Jennings of Liberty. Step- mother, Sue Jennings of Murfreesboro. A cousin, Mark Byars of Smithville. Fred D. Townsley

83 year old Fred D. Townsley died Saturday at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. He was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky. He was also a World War II veteran. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Perry Clayton will officiate and burial will be in the Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lude Asberry Townsley; a daughter, Norma Gail Townsley; and a grandson, William Ross Cope. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Townsley of Nashville. Children, Marilyn Diann Presley, Fred David and his wife Debra Townsley, and Jackie Lea Townsley all of Livingston. A step-son, Bobby and his wife Louise Yates of Lebanon. A step-granddaughter, Dvonne and her husband Terry Davis of White House. Eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren survive along with a daughter-in-law, Sherry Yates and devoted neighbors, Lloyd and Francis Jones and Jean Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Baines and Alice Robinson Baines and his wife of 76 years, Jessie Mai Bullard Baines. Survivors include three children, Harold and his wife Lou Baines of Murfreesboro, Robert C. and his wife Dorothy Baines of Smithville, and Louise and her husband Robert O'Brien of Murfreesboro. Grandchildren, Harold Wayne and his wife Sarah Baines of Gordonsville, Jimmie and his wife Terri Baines of Orange Beach, Alabama, Gary Baines of Smithville, Ronald and his wife Gail Baines of Smithville, Michael L. and his wife Pam Baines of Smithville, Karen "Sissy" and her husband Daniel Mann of Murfreesboro, and Kim and her husband Kendall Carter of Lascassas. Two step grandchildren, Dallas Bush of Murfreesboro and Larry Wayne Bush of Lascassas. Great grandchildren, Bobby O'Brien, Kenny, Kurtis, Kyler, and Kooper Carter, Kristy Elmore, Michael Baines, Jason and Caleb Baines, and Ava Grace Baines. Step great grandchildren, Emily Ann Linder, Michael Paul White, Ana and Cody Bush, Garrett, and Sarah Elizabeth Bush. A great great grandson, Remington Baines.

Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Christine Hunt Griffith and a son, Walter Louis Phillips. Survivors include her husband, Walter Phillips of Smithville. Three children, Robert C. and his wife Brenda Hunt of Nashville, Cecilia D. Phillips of Smithville and Juanita L. and her husband Troy Lusk of Manchester. Five grandchildren, Tina Young of Sparta, Fah-Louise Hatley of California, Donald Lusk, Jr. and his wife Kayla of Scottsboro, Alabama, and Hannah Danielle Phillips and Walter Chase Phillips both of Smithville. Five great grandchildren, Corey Young and Trevor Kane Young both of Sparta, Kylee Lusk of Scottsboro, Alabama, Richard Hatley of California, and Chloe Lusk of Scottsboro, Alabama. Two brothers and their wives, William and Melissa Griffith of Nashville and John F. and Shirley Griffith of Lebanon. One sister and her husband Minnie and William Hurd of Smithville.
