Lola Walker

62 year old Lola Walker of Smithville died Saturday at her residence. She was a member of the Church of Christ and she was retired from Denny Lamp Company. The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be no visitation on Monday. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, William Taft Whitefield and Eunice Mae Lawson Whitefield; brothers, William Taft Whitefield, Jr. and Waymon Howard Whitefield; and a sister-in-law, Mary Glenn Whitefield. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Walker; a son, Timothy and his wife Joanie Walker; grandchildren, Javan and Kendall Walker; special daughter, Tamara and husband Derrick Young; special granddaughter, Dominique Young; nephew, Jim Waldrop and wife Cari all of Smithville. Two sisters, Nell Stewart of South Pittsburg and Mary Whitefield of Smithville. One brother, Charles and wife Sue Whitefield of South Pittsburg. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests that donations be made to any lung foundation of your choice in lieu of flowers. Please no flowers by request of the family.

Jerry Michael Henry

61 year old Jerry Michael Henry of Smithville died Thursday at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He was a member of the Church of Christ; an employee of Federal Mogul; and he served in the U.S. Air Force and Vietnam. The family has chosen direct cremation. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Lela Ann Eldridge Henry; a brother, Jimmy Newton Henry; two sisters, Wilma Henry Cobb and Joyce Henry; and mother-in-law, Mildred Reeder. Survivors include his wife, Doris Henry of Smithville. Four children, Joel Henry, Nancy Swoape, Jeremy Henry and Josh Beckham all of Smithville. Grandchildren, Jerica, Kaytlyn, Jared, and MaKenzy Henry, and Emily and Hannah Swoape. Three brothers, Bobby Henry and James Henry both of Sparta and Larry Henry of Smithville. One sister, Deborah Williams of Sparta. Two special friends, Robert Melton and Richard Pollard. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses, in lieu of flowers.

W.H. Webb

68 year old W.H. Webb of McMinnville died Friday at his sister's residence. He was a member of the Whorton Springs Baptist Church; he served in the U.S. National Guard; and he worked in landscaping. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Douglas Webb will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Webb was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Irene Webb. He is survived by a son, Jacob Webb of McMinnville. Three sisters, Sue Beshearse and Gail and husband Doyle Slager both of Dowelltown, and Patty and husband Eddie Malone of Smithville. One brother, Ray Donald and wife Betty Webb of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made to the Whorton Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, in lieu of flowers.

Debra Ann Dunn

52 year old Debra Ann Dunn of McMinnville died Friday at River Park Hospital. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Jackie Matheny will officiate and burial will be in the Bluff Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Nancy Jane Smith Pinegar; one grandchild, Layla Pinegar; one nephew, Percy Pinegar III, and one niece, Shanna Tatrow Pinegar. Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Dunn; two sons, Billy and wife Lashonda Dunn and Johnny and wife Amanda Pinegar; one daughter, Jimmy Lynn Dunn; two grandchildren, Lake Dunn and Isaac Pinegar; one sister, Cynthia and husband Jimmy Beacham; three brothers, Charles and wife Melissa Pinegar and David Pinegar all of McMinnville and Percy and wife Rhodessa Pinegar of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family has asked that all donations please be made to Love-Cantrell Funeral Home to help with funeral arrangements, in lieu of flowers.

Hilda May Bogle

71 year old Hilda May Bogle of Smithville died Wednesday night at NHC Healthcare Center of McMinnville. She was a Baptist and a machine operator at the Smithville Shirt Factory. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bobby Thomason will officiate and burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Octa Lee Murphy Mathis; infant son, Johnny Gayle Farless; two grandchildren, Mitchel and Sharon Farless; two brothers, Robert Mathis, Jr. and Edward Murphy; and three sisters, Scaple Simpson, Violet Simmons, and Dorothy Lawson. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Farless and companion Cynthia Murphy of Smithville. Two daughters, Renee and husband Brad Marsh of McMinnville and Patricia and husband Landon Mathis of Smithville. Four grandchildren, Waylon Farless, Amanda Lattimore, and Crystal Farless all of Smithville and Adereana Marsh of McMinnville. Two great granchildren, Johnny and Montana Farless both of Smithville and special friends, Terry and Evelyn Lawson of Watertown. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 72 year old Kenneth Houk of Smithville died Tuesday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was retired from Toshiba and a Free Will Baptist. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bernard Houk and Avery Brown will officiate and burial will be in the Banks Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Elsie Viola Bratcher Houk; four brothers, Oliver, Charles, Carl, and Earl Houk; and a sister, Catherine Ervin. Houk is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Houk; a son, Timothy and his wife Cindy Houk; two grandchildren, April Warren and Josh and wife Robin Warren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth and husband James Pirtle; two brothers-in-law, Reed Miller and Jackie Ervin; and sister-in-law, Reggie Houk all of Smithville. M. Vernelle McClanahan

91 year old M. Vernelle McClanahan of the Mahome Community of Watertown died Saturday at the UMC Hospital in Lebanon. A Baptist and a homemaker, she was born in Watertown. Her parents were the late S.T. King and Etta Malone King. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Jason Groe will officiate and burial will be in Hillview Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. In addition to her parents, McClanahan was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ford "Pete" McClanahan; sisters, Johnnie Humphrey and Mable Ballew; and her brother, Clyde King. Survivors include a sister, Anna Mai Crowder of Alexandria. A brother, J.W. King of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Sister-in-law, Jewell King of Brush Creek. Nieces and nephews, Elain and husband Joel Collins of Easley, South Carolina; Michael and wife Dee Humphrey of Russellville, Arkansas; Rochelle and husband Mark Gray of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; and Tim and wife Julie King and Kerry and wife Sarah King all of Belton, Missouri. Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made to the Alexandria Library in her name, in lieu of flowers.

Nina Jo Zink

74 year old Nina Jo Zink of Smithville died Saturday at her residence. She was a Baptist and retired from the Humble Oil Company. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at Seaside Memorial Chapel in Corpus Christi, Texas with burial in Seaside Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Seaside Memorial Chapel. She was preceded in death by her husband James Zink; parents, Fred and Edith Shipp; and son, Ches Addkison. She is survived by three children, Jamie and husband John Anderson of Smithville, Wes Addkison of Corpus Christi, TX., and Lisa and husband Alvin Baker of Smithville. Seven grandchildren, Brionna Malnofski, Amber Addkison, Ashley Baker, Alexa Anderson, Jimmy Addkison, Sydney Johansen, and Alex Wade Johansen. Nine great-grandchildren. One brother, Albert Rotramble of Corpus Christi, TX and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Wilma Corley Oakley

99 year old Wilma Corley Oakley of Alexandria died Friday at NHC in Smithville. She was born in DeKalb County, the daughter of the late William Belva Corley and Lillie Frances Oakley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Burse Oakley; three brothers, George Corley, Alton Corley, and Billy Corley; and three sisters, Ruby Reynolds, Martha Corley, and Louise Vanatta. She was a member of the West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria. Oakley is survived by her daughter, June and husband David Lancaster of Gordonsville. Three grandchildren, Theresa and husband Ricky Sircy, Danice and husband Gary Whittemore, and Yvonne and husband Kerry Gibbs all of Gordonsville. Seven great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, and sisters-in-law, Mary Etta and husband William Paul Griffith of Warren, Michigan and Ruth Corley of Temperance Hall. Oakley will be buried on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation with the Oakley family will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria. No visitation will be held on Sunday.

Billy Wayne Malone

78 year old Billy Wayne Malone of Dowelltown died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church. Malone was a Mason, member of DeKalb Lodge #358, construction/concrete worker, and an employee at the Liberty convenience site. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Mike Clayborn, Eric Woods, Johnathon Willoughby, and Andy Malone will officiate. Burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. A Masonic service will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Malone was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Evie Ray Parkerson Malone; a grandson, Cody Ray; granddaughter, Dana Malone; two infant grandchildren; brothers, Robert Don and Roy Malone; and a sister, Frances Moss. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Jean Malone of Dowelltown. Children, Wayne and wife Doris Malone and Donna Willoughby all of Dowelltown and Lisa and husband Kenneth Ray of Smithville. Six grandchildren, Cindy and husband John Armour, Andy and wife Sarah Malone, Johnathon and wife Rena Willoughby, Jessie Willoughby, and Joe and Johnny Ray. Great grandchildren, Brittney and husband Nathan Gard, Nathan Armour, Kelly Armour, Jathan and Lydia Willoughby, and Preston Ray. Great great grandchildren, McKinley and Logan Gard. Sisters, Jimmie and husband David Carter of Liberty and Debbie and husband Danny Bishop of Liberty .DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
