Robbie Nell Tramel

82 year old Robbie Nell Tramel of the Snow Hill Community died Sunday at her residence. She was a Baptist and a retired employee of the Valdor Shirt Factory. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Floyd and Mary Elizabeth Taylor Hale; her husband, George Washington Tramel; and two brothers, Floyd Hale, Jr. and Robert T. Hale. Survivors include two daughters, Georgia and her husband Michael Young and Martha and her husband Tim Cantrell all of Dowelltown. One grandson, Nelson Young of Dowelltown. Three granddaughters, Latonya and Dylan Kleparek of Smithville, Dana Cantrell and Ashley Young both of Dowelltown. Four great grandchildren, Cody Allen Goff of Dowelltown, Jasper David Kleparek, Jacklyn Rose and Jaxon Paul all of Smithville. Two sisters, Doris and her husband Elmus Johnson and Betty Jo and her husband Aubrey Wright all of Smithville. One brother, Roy and his wife Joyce Hale of Liberty. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Shirley Frances Kalish

66 year old Shirley Frances Kalish of Smithville died Wednesday night at Alive Hospice at Skyline Madison Campus in Madison, Tennessee. She was a Baptist. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. B.J. Thomason will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bedford and Lois Olena Campbell Ashford and a brother, Jim Ashford. Survivors include her husband, Robert Kalish of Smithville. Two sons, Robert and his wife Ashlie Hutchins of McMinnville and Jacky Hutchins of Alabama. Eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A sister, Jean Warren of Indiana and a brother, James Doyle Ashford of Indiana. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Virgin George Harrell

85 year old Virgin George Harrell of Smithville died Thursday at NHC Healthcare Center. Harrell was a retired nurse and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Mrs. Harrell was preceded in death by parents, James and Lilly Hibdon George and her husband, Tommy Harrell. Survivors include a son, Thomas G. and his wife Emily Harrell of Alabama. Three grandchildren, Rachel Oglesby of Maryland, Catherine Harrell of North Carolina, and Travis Harrell of Alabama. Nephews, Carl George of Nashville and Kenneth George of Nashville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Vanice King Davenport

83 year old Vanice King Davenport of Smithville died Monday at Stones River Hospital in Woodbury. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Banks Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland and Bernice King Davenport; His wife, Vera Davenport; a son, Van Davenport, Jr.; three brothers, Malcom, Marlan, and Carl Davenport; and a sister, Calra Mae Givens. Survivors include two daughters, Sue Davenport of Smithville and Brenda and her husband David Vanatta of Woodbury. One son, Michael and his wife Tammy Davenport of Liberty. Five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, and two sisters, Dot Moore and Ruby Young both of Nashville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Faye Lohorn

71 year old Faye Lohorn of Smithville died Tuesday at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church and a greeter at Wal-Mart in Smithville. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Mike Carpenter and Jason Lohorn will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 9:00 p.m.; Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Taylor and Winnie Summers Taylor. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Don Lohorn of Smithville. Two sons, Jason and his wife Nikki Lohorn of Alexandria and Coy and his wife T.J. Lohorn of Smithville. One daughter, Greta and her husband Chris Mick of Smithville. Nine grandchildren, Justin, Austin, and Hayden Lohorn, Briley and Logan Dailey, and Madison Mick all of Smithville, and Paige, Ally, and Hannah Lohorn all of Alexandria. Six brothers, Buddy and his wife Brenda Taylor, Ronnie and his wife Gail Taylor, Jerry Taylor, Jimmy and his wife Rita Taylor all of Smithville, Ricky and his wife Diane Taylor of Smyrna and Tony and his wife Vicky Taylor of Murfreesboro. Seven sisters, Christine and her husband Melvin Reeder, Linda Kilgore, Peggy and her husband Ralph Tramel, Judy and her husband Ronnie Redmon, Darlene Jones, and Sandy and her husband Cameron Dunn all of Smithville, and Mary and her husband Jack Ludy of Smyrna. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

77 year old Gloria Ann Huse of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Helen Irwin. Survivors include a daughter, Denise Dingle and her husband, Lonnie Laxton of Smithville. Grandchildren, Jennifer, Katie, Amanda, and Steven Laxton of Smithville. Due to a family allergy, the family requests no live flowers be sent to the funeral home. You may send silk flowers or make donations to the charity of your choice.

Margaret Greer Malone

87 year old Margaret Greer Malone of Alexandria died Thursday at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville. She was born in Dickson County, the daughter of the late Lillie Dinkins and Clarence Greer. A brother, Robert Greer preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by an aunt and uncle, Zelma and Chris Benzenhafer and a cousin, Nelson Benzenhafer. She was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School in Nashville. She was married to Elmer Dale Malone, Sr. and he preceded her in death. She retired from Work Wear Corporation of Alexandria. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Alexandria. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria. Ronnie Smith and Ricky Scott will officiate and burial will be in Hillview Memorial cemetery in Alexandria. The Malone family will receive friends at Avant Chapel on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dale, Jr. and Marie Malone of Mount Juliet. A daughter and son-in-law, Corky and Charles Gibbs of Hermitage. Three grandchildren, Casey Malone, Jason and his wife Jennifer Malone, and Scott and his wife Valerie Gibbs. Two great granddaughters, Ashley Reagan and Presley Gibbs. Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.

79 year old Flora Ethell Redmon of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Corinth Church of Christ. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dan Gulley and Andy Pack will officiate and burial will be in the Webb Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m.until 9:00 p.m.; Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Pack and Clarence Redmon; three children, Charles Pack, Jr., Ricky Eston, and Terry Kenneth Pack; her parents, Eddie and Martha Turner; one sister, Lala Tittsworth; and two brothers, Royce and Norman Turner. Survivors include two sons, Doug and his wife Patricia Pack of Rock Island and Richey Pack of Smithville. Four daughters, Paulette Atchley of Rock Island, Ivy Barnes, Deborah and her husband Jimmy Ray Driver; and Sonya and her husband Allan Hale all of Smithville. Jessie Mae Underwood

99 year old Jessie Mae Underwood of Smithville died Wednesday at NHC of Smithville. She was a homemaker, a charter member of the Short Mountain Church of God, where she taught the Ladies Bible Class until late in her 90's. She was a correspondent for the Smithville Review for several years. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Toy C. Underwood; her parents, John Robert and Lillie Motley; brothers, Comer and Hoyte Motley; and two sisters, Naomi and Mary Elizabeth Motley. Survivors include two sons, Joe Underwood of Smithville and Bob and his wife Althea Underwood of Florida. One daughter, Dorothy and her husband Frank Morrison of Woodbury. Seven grandsons, Max, Mike, Calvin, Albert, David, and Leo Underwood and Larry Daniel. Three granddaughters, Denise Stanton, Tonya Locke, and Joy McKelvey. Thirteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. One brother, Owen (Med) and Jo Motley of Murfreesboro and a sister, Virginia and her husband Nick Boyko of Michigan. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests that donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Bethel cemetery or the Short Mountain Church of God. Frances West Pirtle of Woodbury died Monday. She had worked for Colonial Shirt Factory and Val D'or for 36 years combined. She attended the United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Woodbury. Thomas Nichols will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Her parents were the late Marshell West and Elmer Belle Jones West. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Myrtis West and Edwin West and three sisters, Margie Jones, Ruth Melton, and Vilda Young. Survivors include her husband, Freddie Pirtle of Woodbury; a son at heart, Nile House; three sisters, Joann Smithson of McMinnville, Helen Raymond, and Lou Redmon both of Smithville, and a special caretaker, Hazel Bain. Smith Funeral Home in Woodbury is in charge of the arrangements.
