Stevie Joe Estes

41 year old Stevie Joe Estes of Smithville died Sunday at his residence. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Howard Griffin will officiate and burial will be in the Hale Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his mother, Henrietta Bain Estes and a brother, Ronald Estes. Survivors include his wife, Shelia Baker Estes; a daughter, Amanda McClure; three step-daughters, Jessica Hubbard and Christina Murphy all of Smithville and Stephanie Murphy of Jamestown. Two grandchildren, Conner McClure and Haley Murphy both of Smithville and James Estes of Smithville. His father, Chester Estes of Smithville. Four aunts, Ruth Martin of Smithville, Frances Underwood of Woodbury, and Carolyn Braswell and Shirley Hale. Two uncles, David and Jerry Bain. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

L.G. Bain

63 year old L.G. Bain of Smithville died Thursday at his residence. He was a Baptist and a self employed carpenter. The funeral will be Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Alton Colwell, Bobby Thompson, and Michael Hale will offficiate and burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m until the time of the service 4:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Honest and Jewell Bain and sons, Jeffery and Jerry Bain. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Bain of Smithville. Children, Shawn "Wiesel" Bain, Shelia Ann Beckham, and Josh Bain all of Smithville, and Donna Sue Estes of McMinnvile. Sisters, Betty and her husband Beecher Taylor, Christine and her husband Alton Colwell of Smithville, and Joyce Prater of Lebanon. Brothers, J.B. and his wife Cathy Bain, E.J. Bain, R.J. and his wife Judy Bain, and A.J. and his wife Carol Bain all of Smithville. Grandchildren, Devon Bain, Travis Beckham, Ashley Bain, Andy Bain, Aniece Bain, Amy and Casey Estes. A great grandchild, Natalya McCarty. Step-children, Kim and her husband Waymon Walker of Sparta and Mark and his wife Bobbie Davis of Carthage. Step grandchildren, Amber Linder, Megan Linder, Chelsie Linder, Zach Walker, Matthew Davis, and Amber Gross. Special caregiver and sister-in-law, Patsy Rutherford. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Bobby Nichols

66 year old Bobby Nichols of Cookeville died Sunday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was Golf Coach at Tennessee Tech University and owner of the Ironwood Golf Course. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Cookeville-Cumberland Presbyterian Church and burial will be in the Cookeville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at the church. He is survived by three brothers, Glen Nichols, John Nichols, and Earl Nichols. The Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Willie Herbert Driver

72 year old Willie Herbert Driver of Smithville died Monday at his residence. He was a retired McMinnville Manufacturing employee and a member of the Smithville Church of God. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Lizzie Pinegar Driver and a special friend, Lee Reeder. Survivors include partner-in-life, Shirley Ann Fisher of Smithville. Special family, Marl Ann Reynolds of Hermitage, Joe Reeder of Old Hickory, and Peggy Lynn Hendrix of Smithville. Six special grandchildren. One great special grandchild. One uncle, Thern Driver of Sparta. Three cousins, Homer Hodges of Smithville, Taft Ferrell of Smithville, and Paul Driver of Sparta. Deanna Kirby

52 year old Deanna Kirby of the Green Hill Community died Thursday at Stones River Hospital in Woodbury of injuries in an automobile accident. She was born in Warren County and was a homemaker. Kirby was preceded in death by her parents, I.D. and Georgia Magnolia Haley Adcock. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Wayne Cantrell will officiate and burial will be in the Mount View Cemetery. The Kirby family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Eddie Kirby of the Green Hill Community; a daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Matthew Wanamaker of McMinnville; a son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Stacey Kirby of Smithville; a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Bernie Siler of Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Michelle Adcock of New Jersey, Garry and Peggy Adcock of McMinnville, and Mickey and Joyce Adcock of McMinnville; mother-in-law, Mildred Kirby of McMinnville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and Troy Sullens of McMinnville; and grandchildren, Gage Wanamaker, Linley Wanamker, and Paisley Wanamaker. She was a Cannon County native, a housewife, stove manufacturer, and a member of the Church of Christ. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Royce Martin will officiate and burial will be in the Melton Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dearman Patterson. Survivors include first cousins, Joe Patterson of Goodlettesville, Ralph Patterson and Peggy Patterson of Murfreesboro, Dorris Hare of Delaware, Sue Cripps, Kelly, and Eugene Underwood of Smithville, Joe R. Leonard and Tony Patterson of Cannon County, Paul Patterson of Michigan, William Patterson of Mississippi, Roger Patterson of Arizona, James Patterson of Maine, Paul Waggoner of Chattanooga, Geraldine Prater of Warren County, and numerous second and third cousins and devoted neighbors, Ken and Marie Garrett and family. Gary Wayne Cantrell

28 year old Gary Wayne Cantrell of Liberty died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was an employee of Federal Mogul, member of the Old Fashion Freewill Baptist Church, and he was a firefighter of the Liberty Station. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. David Lawson will officiate and burial will be in the Hale Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Tina Ashford Cantrell. He is survived by his wife, Felisha Vanatta Cantrell; one son, Dakoda Wayne Cantrell; and one daughter, Aveya Grace Cantrell all of Liberty. His mother, Edna Ashford of Smithville. Three sisters, Rhonda King of McMinnville and Barbara Green and Gail Mullican of Smithville. One brother, Jerry Ashford of Smithville. Leon C. Duke

90 year old Leon C. Duke of Lancaster died Friday at NHC of Smithville. He was retired from TRW and was a member of the Emmanuel Church of Christ. In 1994, he recorded "Old Time Banjo Rapping" music for the archives in the Country Music Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Cove Hollow Boys, a musician at the Dollywood Amusement Park, a past winner for two years of the "Old Time Banjo" competition at the Smithville Fiddler's Jamboree, and a past winner of the harmonica competition at Uncle Dave Macon Days in Murfreesboro. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Bates Duke; his parents, Homer and Beulah Putty Duke; and a brother, Odell Duke. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah and her husband Tony Glenn Rast of Pigeon Forge and Vivian Duke of Madison. Grandchildren, Darlene Rickles of Gordonsville, Delia Oldham of Carthage, Vivian Becker of Pigeon Forge, Tony Lee Rast of Colorado, and Venus Redman of Murfreesboro. Great grandchildren, Chris Rickles, Jessica Becker, Kasey Oldham, Crystal Rickles, Kayla Oldham, Victoria Konicki Hopper, and Andrew Redman, Two sisters, Ruthine Hackney of Murfreesboro and Ruby Tisdale of Lebanon. Thurman Ray "Jack" Jones

76 year old Thurman Ray "Jack" Jones of McMinnville died Friday at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He was born in DeKalb County. Jones was one of the original owners of McMinnville Funeral Home and was still serving the public at the time of his death. Jones was a previous chief of the Warren County Rescue Squad and a former coroner of Warren County. He served as a Warren County Commissioner for many years and he owned and operated a burlap business, a grave digging service, and C & N Machine Shop, where he worked as a welder. Jones was also a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church and the Warren Masonic Lodge #125. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of McMinnville Funeral Home. Phillip Rowland, Jackie Matheny, and Eddie Ware will officiate and burial will be in the Mount View Cemetery. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m.. The Jones family will receive friends from noon until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, William Daniel and Margaret France Jones; brothers, Alec, Walter, Cephas, Tommy, Willie, Acquilla, and Burgess Jones; sisters, Gillie Allen, Florence Humphrey, Annie Mannon, Mary Jones, Percilla Warren, Pelina Marsh, Vina Turner, and America Turner. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty Lou Judkins Jones of McMinnville. A son, Jimmy D. Jones of McMinnville. A son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Becky Jones of Cedar Grove. Grandchildren, Andrea, Daniel, Emilie, and Kellie Jones all of McMinnville. Step-grandson, Chris Smith. A step-granddaughter, Amanda Rigsby. Former daughter-in-law, Gail Jones of McMinnville. Sisters, Sue Carter of Winchester, Elsie Newby and Louisa Jennings both of McMinnville and twin sister, Judy Berryhill of Nashville. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family members, and friends also survive. McMinnville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 49 Golf Club Drive, McMinnville, 37110.

Gladys White Young Morris

78 year old Gladys White Young Morris of Woodbury died Wednesday at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga of a short illness. She was a Cannon County native, a retired seamstress, a member of the Sunny Slope and Sugar Tree Knob Church of Christ, and a past board director and member of the Cannon County Walking Horse Association. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodbury Church of Christ. Herb Alsup and James McDonald will officiate and burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Woodbury Funeral Home and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Woodbury Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Curtis Morris of Woodbury. One son, Donnie Morris of Woodbury. One daughter, Renita Haley of Woodbury. Two granddaughters, Callie and Hannah Haley both of Woodbury. Woodbury Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Cannon County Walking Horse Association.
