Cade

52 year old Richard Leon Cade of Smithville died Saturday at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He was an aeronautical mechanic and a Baptist. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in the Bonham Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Cade; a son, Nicholas Deon Cade; and his father-in-law, Dale Staley. Cade is survived by his wife, Jan Higdon Cade of Smithville. Six children, Brittany and Chynna Cade of Smithville, Mindy Higdon of Nashville, Brandon Cade of Russell Springs, Kentucky, Jamie Higdon of Smithville, and Joni Cade of Birmingham, Alabama. Two grandchildren, Kobi Ryan Cade of Russell Springs, Kentucky and Jade Cade of Birmingham, Alabama. His mother, Helen Cade of Russell Springs, Kentucky. A brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Linda Cade of Somerset, Kentucky. His mother-in-law, Wilma Staley of Smithville. A brother-in-law, Tim and his wife Debbie Staley of Smithville. Sister-in-law, Kathy Staley Olds of Smithville. Six nieces, Michelle Hatcher and family, Jennifer Hartman and family, Heather Cade, Kesha and Kylie Staley, and Tisha Burns, and special friend, James Meadows of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Bernard's Funeral Home in Russell Springs, Kentucky. Monday visitation will be at DeKalb Funeral Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

Sidwell

75 year old Helen Frances Sidwell of Smithville died Friday at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Union The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Royce Martin will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Pack and Effie Cantrell Head. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Austin and Diane Strickland of Smithville, Danny and Lisa Strickland of Tullahoma, and Donnie and Jane Strickland of Walling. Two daughters and a son-in-law, Virginia and Larry Sprayberry of Chattanooga and Robin Keenan of Smithville. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. One brother and sister-in-law, Ernest Junior and Dean Pack of Smithville. Visitation will be Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Wilson

74 year old Sue Carolyn Wilson of Smithville died Friday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baxter Church of God. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Troy Weathers will officiate and burial will be in the Snow Hill Baptist Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buren and Pearl Keith Wilson; her husband, Frank Blossom; three brothers, Pete, Jim, and Dan Wilson; and two sisters, Mary Hilton and Frances Rowe. She is survived by three sons, Lanny Blossom of Kentucky, and Joseph and Tony Blossom of Lavergne. Six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren survive in addition to two brothers, Joe Wilson of McMinnville and Marshall Wilson of Illinois. Three sisters, Ola White and Pearl Hunt of Nashville and Jackie Dedmon of Kentucky. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m.

Martin

77 year old John McKinley Martin of Smithville died Thursday at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He was a farmer and a Baptist. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Danny Parker and Alton Colwell will officiate and burial will be in the Banks Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Hobert and Daisy Bell Clayborn; two brothers, Dalton Brown and Frank Martin; and three sisters, Minnie Bell Taylor, Rosa Lee Martin, and Thelma Lee Martin. He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Evelyn Martin of Dowelltown and Billy and Gloria Martin of Smithville. Seven sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jimmie Beacham of Dowelltown, Lois Hale of Lebanon, Carolyn and Jim Sanders of Texas, Peggy Smith of Nashville, Ruby Louise Estes of Shelbyville, Ginger and George Steinbach of Smithville and Nadine Ferrell of Woodbury. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m.

55 year old Linda Fay Swift of Ashland City died Friday night at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. The body is at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Arrangements are incomplete.

Butts

77 year old Hazel C. Butts of Michigan died Thursday at her residence. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Canady Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Butts; one brother, James David Fuson; and a sister, Dorothy Cantrell. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Tom Blach of Michigan. Two nephews, David Cantrell of Michigan and Zane Cantrell of Murfreesboro. Five nieces and nephews survive, including Debra Fuson of Smithville. Several cousins also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.

Mabe

75 year old Guynell Mabe of Smithville died Friday at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma of a short illness. She was a retired shirt factory worker, member of the First Baptist Church, and member of the Order of Eastern Star. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Don Davidson and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Chloie Smith Douglas; a brother, Ruel Douglas; and a sister, Wilma Gilliam. Mabe is survived by her husband, Jewel Mabe of Smithville. Three children, Glenda Staley of Smithville, Carol Looney of Cartersville, Georgia, and Eddie Mabe of Smithville. Two sisters, Marcella Shaver of Mobile, Alabama and Jo Ann Wrenn of Mount Borough, Alabama. One brother, James D. Douglas of Eva, Alabama. Four grandchildren and six great grandchildren survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.

60 year old Ronnie D. Johnson of Walling died Wednesday at his residence. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Frances Humphrey Johnson of Walling. His mother, Donna Bell Johnson of Walling. A brother, Danny Johnson of Columbus, Ohio. Three sisters, Donna Geer of Sparta, Robin Rigsby of Rock Island, and Beverly Ledford of Walling. Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Maynard

69 year old Joyce W. Maynard of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Hospital of an extended illness. She was a retired hairdresser and a member of the Emmanuel Church of Christ. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Cecil Pack Ervin; three children, Kenneth Williard Bain, Pamela Sue Bain, Jeffery Scott Bain; and a sister, Wanda Martin. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Maynard of Smithville. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Paulette Bain and Larry and Anna Bain all of Smithville. Three grandchildren, Tammy Renee Moser, Karem Bain, and Creston Bain. A brother, Roy Ervin of Ardmore. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral.

Brown

86 year old Sallie Mable Brown of Rock Island died Sunday at the emergency room of River Park Hospital in McMinnville. She was a Methodist and a retired employee of the Smithville Shirt Factory. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Curtis Boren will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jay and Robert Hendrixson and parents, Charlie and Eathel Childress Hendrixson. She is survived by her husband, Homer Brown of Rock Island; one daughter, Patty Brown of Rock Island; a son, Bill Brown of Rome, Georgia; and a brother, Charlie Hendrixson of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
