Lydia Mai Colwell

89 year old Lydia Mai Colwell died Monday at NHC. She was a homemaker and a member of the Nash Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Love Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Adcock Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Toy Brown Colwell; her parents, Almer and Altie Massy Williams; three sons, James, Dallas, and Floyd Colwell; and a granddaughter, Crystal Gail Colwell. Survivors include six sons, John B. Colwell and Johnny and his wife Sharron Colwell all of Sparta; Daniel and his wife Joyce Colwell of McMinnville; Eugene Colwell; Willard and his wife Sally Colwell all of Smithville; and Lillard and his wife Sue Colwell of Rock Island. One daughter, Martha and her husband Edwin Moore of Sparta. Twenty four grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Earma Stover and Emer Stover both of Baxter. One brother, Carroll Williams of Baxter. One daughter-in-law, Peggy Colwell of Smithville. Love Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Kay Anita Ray

56 year old Kay Anita Ray of Clarksville died Sunday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania and was a waitress. A memorial service will be held Friday (November 2nd) at 2:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren A. and Shirley A. Herin Rhoades and her husband, Robert D. Ray, Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley M. and her husband Patrick Dandurand of Alexandria. A son, Robert D. Ray III of Alabama. Grandchildren, Dylan J. Dandurand and Nickolas A. Dandurand both of Alexandria. Two brothers, Arthur A. Rhoades of Kulpmont, Pennsylvania and Paul J. Herin, Jr. of Pennsylvania. A niece, Cathy A. Russell of Kulpmont, Pennsylvania. A great niece, Courtney L. Russell of Kulpmont, Pennsylvania. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.

Jasmin Silva Ortega of Smithville, a newborn, died Friday at River Park Hospital in McMinnville. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Hector Hugo Ortega Sanchez will officiate and burial will be in the Young Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Survivors include her parents, Fernando and Julissa Silva Ortega of Smithville. A brother, Jesus Ortega of Smithville. Her paternal grandfather, Andres Ortega of Smithville. Her paternal grandmother, Nieves Christin of Mexico. Her maternal grandparents, Juan and Maria Silva of Alexandria. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

James Edward Tyler Graham

22 year old James Edward Tyler Graham of Smithville died Thursday at his residence. He was a Baptist and attended Warren County High School. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Gary Hew will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Allen Graham. Survivors include his parents, Tina and her husband Scott Thomas of McMinnville and Rex Graham of Smithville. A sister, Jaclyn Graham of McMinnville. A brother, Joshua Graham of Smithville. Maternal Grandparents, Linda Cagle and Leonard Luna of McMinnville; a great aunt, Magdalene Dutton of Smithville. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. Ethel Martin Vanatta

94 year old Mrs. Ethel Martin Vanatta of Woodbury and a long time resident of Alexandria and widow of Dolphin Vanatta, died Friday at the Woodbury Nursing Center. The body is at Woodbury Funeral Home where the funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Thurman Seber and Dr. Richard Bray will officiate and burial will be in the Brush Creek Cemetery. The Vanatta family will receive friends at the Woodbury Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from noon until the service at 2:00 p.m. She is survived by three nieces, Martha K. Taylor of Woodbury, Betty S. and her husband Ronald West of Woodbury, and Nancy A. and her husband Ray Trail of Bradyville. A step-daughter, Etta Frances Bayne. A step-grandson, Vann Bayne. Charles Fredrick "Freddy" Martin

52 year old Charles Fredrick "Freddy" Martin of McMinnville died Friday at River Park Hospital. He was a factory worker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Robert Burns will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Martin and his wife, Margaret Peoples Martin. Survivors include two daughters, Kristy and her husband Jason Jones of Morrison and April and her husband Michael Farley of McMinnville. Grandchildren, Nicholas and Madison Farley; his mother, Joyce A. Martin of Chattanooga; and a sister, S. Kay Human of Chickamauga. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Judy Lynn Hensley

54 year old Judy Lynn Hensley of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Church of God. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Smithville Church of God. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. There will be visitation at the Smithville Church of God on Tuesday from noon until 5:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her father, J.D. Horton, Sr. Survivors include two daughters, Joelle and her husband Brandon Starnes and Jamie and her husband Toby Nokes and two sons, Darrell and Brandon Gurley all of Smithville. Eleven grandchildren. Her mother, Juanita Horton of North Carolina. Three sisters, Joy Brouckaert and Juanita Brown both of North Carolina, and Jill Cornwell of Idaho. Three brothers, J.D. Horton, Jr. of Smithville, Jack and Jeff Horton of Michigan. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family has requested that donations please be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral arrangements.

Robert Louis Purdue, Jr.

72 year old Robert Louis Purdue, Jr. of Willisburg, Kentucky died Wednesday in Lexington, Kentucky. He was retired from Universal Fasteners in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Rosemont Baptist Church in Kentucky, where he was a member. Jerome Browne, Dick Wilkens, and Dr. Blake Shipp will officiate and burial will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joann Sims Purdue of Kentucky. Two sons, Reverend John Purdue of Smithville and Reverend Paul Purdue of Nashville. Four grandchildren also survive. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 89 year old A.P. Conger of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a retired farmer, a U.S. Mail Carrier, and a member of the Smithville Church of Christ. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Smithville Church of Christ. Tim Woodward will officiate and burial will be in Town Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the Smithville Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Otha Dell Conger of Smithville. Two sons, Hilton Conger of Smithville and John Conger of Nashville. Two daughters, Jane Depriest of Mississippi and Carol Buchannan of Alabama. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Smithville Day School, Justin Potter Library, or to the Katherine Conger Scholarship Fund.

70 year old Elsie Miller Krantz of Nashville died Thursday. She was retired from American General Insurance Company and a member of the Northwood Baptist Church of Nashville. The body is at Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home in Joelton where the funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Barry Smith will officiate and burial will be in the Joelton Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Novella Miller and brothers, Charlie and Thomas H. Miller II. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Marvis E. Krantz; sisters, Magdalene Keith and Eva J. Wright and numerous nieces and nephews. Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home in Joelton is in charge of the arrangements.

81 year old Norma Keaton of Alexandria died Tuesday at University Medical Center in Lebanon. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Brush Creek Baptist Church. Wayne Jamison and Robert Amason will officiate and burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery. The Keaton family will receive friends at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the Brush Creek Baptist Church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m. She is survived by three children, Lorie and her husband Jim York of Alexandria; Jeffery and his wife Jennifer Keaton of Smithville; and Jocelyn Keaton of Liberty. Seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren survive. Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.
