MONNIE E. GARRETT
Funeral services for Ms. Monnie E. Garrett, 83, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Clark cemetery with Bro. Randy Stephens and Bro. Cletis Beason officiating.

Ms. Garrett died Friday, June 18 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and attended Barnes Ridge Church of Christ.

Born September 11, 1920, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Will Henry and Ella (Clark) Garrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Dessie Garrett, Garland Garrett, and Howard Garrett; and a sister, Serene Stephens.

Survivors include two brothers, Lonzie Garrett of Phoenix, AZ, and Clurie Garrett of Livingston; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Elmo Garrett, Joe Garrett, Jeff Garrett Jr., John Stephens, Joey Stephens, and Tom Spohnholtz.

ESTELLE E. GORE
Funeral services for Mrs. Estelle E. Gore, 77, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Old Union cemetery with Bro. Edward Todd and Bro. Tom Greenwood officiating.

Mrs. Gore died Friday, June 18 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife, a cafeteria worker at Hilham Elementary School, and a member of Hilham Church of God.

Born June 21, 1926, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Javie and Nellie (Hooks) Eldridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lilburn Gore in 2002.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Gore and his wife, Linda, of Powder Springs, GA; two daughters, Debbie Huff and her husband, Donald, of Cookeville, and Libby Lee and her husband, Jimmy, of Livingston; two brothers, Harold Eldridge and Harrison Eldridge, both of Livingston; and six grandchildren, Jeff Gore, Christy Buford, Sherry Farley, Dana Strong, Griffin Lee, and Ivy Lee.

Pallbearers were Matt Eldridge, Mark Eldridge, Mike Eldridge, Gerald Ferrill, Frank McIlvain, Shannon Davis, and Bennie Davis.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Ray Austin and John Webb.

NYTAREE (GARRETT) HELTON
Funeral services for Mrs. Nytaree (Garrett) Helton, 80, of Davis, CA, and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Garrett Family cemetery with Rev. Buford Nevins officiating.

Mrs. Helton died Saturday, June 12 at Davis. She was a retired elementary school teacher and was of the Methodist faith.

Born December 10, 1923, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Lora Garrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Helton; six brothers, Billie Garrett, Coley Garrett, Joe Garrett, Lewis Garrett, Monty Garrett, and Clyde Garrett; and two sisters, Anna Lee Thompson and Geneva Maynord.

Survivors include a daughter, Leneda Helton of Davis; a brother, Teddy Garrett of Livingston; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

LESTER D. SPEARS
Funeral services for Mr. Lester D. Spears, 79, of Celina, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Fitzgerald cemetery in Celina with Bro. Harold Reeder officiating.

Mr. Spears died Wednesday, June 16 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired farmer and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Born August 6, 1924, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Archie Bennett and Mary Sue (Dailey) Spears. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eula (Thompson) Spears; two daughters, Minnie Rose Ledbetter and Nina Kay Spears; two sons, Joe Donald Spears and James Ledbetter; three brothers; five sisters; a grandson, Tony Russell Rich; and a step-grandson, Kelly Jack Daniels.

Survivors include six daughters, Vickie Garrett, Mary Gore, and Barbara Brown, all of Livingston, Shelia Christian of Columbus, IN, Doris Isabell of Celina, and Virginia Jones of Albany, KY; a sister, Martha Hawkins of Madison; 23 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.

COZE EDWARD WINNINGHAM
Funeral services for Mr. Coze Edward Winningham, 82, of Crawford, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Phillips cemetery with Rev. Oliver England and Rev. Greg Jenkins officiating.

Mr. Winningham died Tuesday, June 15 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired coal miner, a retired factory worker with Dickerson File in Indiana, and was affilliated with the Freewill Baptist Church.

Born August 28, 1921, in Fentress County, he was the son of the late Quitman and Vina (Hite) Winningham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Winningham; and two sisters, Madge Shelton and Billie Rich.

Survivors include his wife, Roxie Winningham of Crawford; a daughter, Patricia Winningham of Crawford; a sister, Faye Handy of Livingston; two sisters-in-law, Ida Winningham of Anderson, IN, and Minnie Garrett of Cookeville; two grandchildren, Bill Wilson and Angela Wilson Pak; and four great grandchildren, Brandon Pak, Blakelyn Pak, Alyssa Westmoreland, and Emma Wilson.

Pallbearers were James Handy, Danny Winningham, Gary Handy, Billy Handy, Kenny Wilson, and Ronnie Winningham.

JAMES RONNIE BOWMAN
Funeral services for Mr. James Ronnie Bowman, 47, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Hoover cemetery with Bro. Donald Bowman officiating.

Mr. Bowman died Wednesday, September 1 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a carpenter and of the Church of Christ faith.

Born March 2, 1957, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Paul and Bronzie (Carr) Bowman.

Survivors include his wife, April Bowman of Livingston; three sons, Jamie Bowman and Casey Bowman, both of Cookeville, and Joseph Bowman of Livingston; three daughters, Christy Bright, Ashley Davis, and Marie Bowman, all of Livingston; a brother, Russell Bowman of Livingston; a sister, Robin Bowman of Livingston; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Rocky Carrm Jamin Carr, Rick Boles, Gerald Goodpasture, Hugh L. Ogletree, and Jamie Webb.

GERALD PAUL "JERRY" GLASSCOCK
Funeral services for Mr. Gerald Paul "Jerry" Glasscock, 59, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, September 6, 2004, at West End Church of Christ.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Glasscock died Friday, September 3 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a member of West End Church of Christ, chairman of Overton County Board of Education, a member of Tennessee Education Association, past president and member of Tennessee Vocational Directors Association, and a veteran of the United States Army.

Born January 8, 1945, he was the son of Maurine (Hunter) Glasscock of Livingston and the late Henry Paul Glasscock.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Janie Glasscock of Livingston; two daughters, Lori Thompson and her husband, Benny, of Livingston, and Leigh Caldwell and her husband, Mark, of Cookeville; three sisters, Patsy Glasscock and June Puckett, both of Livingston, and Betty Sue Konda of Kansas; and six grandchildren, Tiffany Thompson, Devin Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Hallie Thompson, Drew Caldwell, and Luke Caldwell.

Pallbearers were Donnie Webb, Ward Poston Jr., David Poston, Tommy Poston, Dennis Barsness, Terry Webb, Mike Webb, David Webb, Carl David Webb, Mike Buford, L.G. Puckett IV, Wesley Puckett, and Jack Glasscock.

Bill Needham along with members of Overton County Board of Education served as honorary pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jerry Glasscock Memorial Scholarship Fund.

DAISY HOLMAN
Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Holman, 97, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Thurman Seber officiating.

Mrs. Holman died Sunday, September 5 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a housewife and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Born January 8, 1907, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Buck Harrison and Melvina (Stover) Ledbetter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; four sisters, Dellia White, Effie Morgan, Sally Houston, and Melvina Kelly; and two brothers, Eddie Ledbetter and Mosie D. Ledbetter.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Seber and her husband, Charles, of Allons; a grandson, Joel Seber; a special friend, Judy Hammons; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Robert Ledbetter, James Ledbetter, Willie D. Holman, Ron Thurman, Danny Maynord, and Charles Maynord.

LYDA GRACE (POSTON) HUGHES
Memorial services for Mrs. Lyda Grace (Poston) Hughes, 79, were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2004, at Hillcrest United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Hughes died Sunday, August 29. Retired from the J.C. Penney Company, she was a loving mother, a dedicated wife, and truly a wonderful friend. She was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church and was involved in many church activities. She will be sadly missed by those who loved her.

She was the daughter of the late Walter and Lizzie Poston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bethel Poston and Wilbur Poston.

Survivors include her husband, James Edward Hughes; two sons, Ronald Matheny and his wife, Hazel, of Tullahoma, and Michael Matheny and his wife, Judy, of Nashville; a daughter, Ellen Forkum and her husband, Tom, of Gainesboro; a step-son, Todd Hughes and his wife, Ann, of Harvest, AL; two step-daughters, Susan Oliver of Lebanon and Joan Vince and her husband, David, of Lawrenceburg, KY; a sister-in-law, Cleo Poston of Livingston; 10 grandchildren, Christie York Wu, David York, Scott Matheny, Doug Matheny, Tammy Matheny, Michael Steven Matheny, Angie Poston, Seth Hughes, Claire Hughes, and Allie Hughes; and 5 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in LydaÕs name to Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 5112 Raywood Lane, Nashville, TN 37211.

BARBARA JEANNE (HOLSAPPLE) LEIFELD
Graveside services for Mrs. Barbara Jeanne (Holsapple) Leifeld, 48, of Charleston, SC, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2004, at the Locust Grove cemetery with Tony Beaty officiating.

Mrs. Leifeld died Saturday, August 28 at her home. She was self-employed in the seafood business and was affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints in Charleston.

Born April 28, 1956, in Albany, KY, she was the daughter of Blanche Ruth (Amonette) Holsapple Baum of Livingston and the late Bennie Amberst Holsapple.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Donald W. Leifeld Jr. of Charleston; two sons, Joshua A. VanBarriger and Shawn P. VanBarriger, both of Charleston; a daughter, Heather M. VanBarriger of Charleston; three brothers, Darwin Holsapple of Albany and Welby Holsapple and Danny Holsapple, both of Charleston; a sister, Faye Dempsey of Livingston; three grandchildren; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers were Mitchel Rhea, Rodney Dempsey Sr., Rodney Dempsey Jr., Darwin Holsapple, Jerry Holsapple, and Dean Nicholas.

EARL DEAN PARRISH
Funeral services for Mr. Earl Dean Parrish, 76, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Bro. John Copeland officiating.

Mr. Parrish died Friday, September 3 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and a member of Grace Baptist Church in Alpine.

Born July 8, 1928, in Overton County, he was the son of the late William Edward and Della (Martin) Parrish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Inez Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Parrish of Livingston; two sons, Tommy Parrish of Hilham and Joe Bohorfoush Parrish of Livingston; three daughters, Helen Vaughn of Rickman and Angela Breeding and Lisa Bell, both of Livingston; a special uncle, Odis Martin; a special friend, Johnny Arney; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Michael Vaughn, David Bell Sr., Johnny Arney, Sean Bell, David Bell III, Pete Breeding, Thomas Edwards, and Kenny Dishman.
