William D. Barry, 55, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - William (Bill) David Barry, 55, was born on February 19, 1948 and went to rest in the arms of Jesus on November 30, 2003. The date he was born and the date he left us may someday pass from our memory; but what took place between those dates will always hold a special place in the hearts of all that had known him.

William received the Lord in 1978 on the banks of Horse Creek during an old-fashioned baptismal service and he never turned back from serving God. He was one of the founding members of Tri-City Apostolic Church and he was faithful to God and the church in every way. He loved being involved in every Church activity. He loved participating in musicals and plays and singing in the choir most of all. Two days before his passing, he awoke and said, "I want to sing, " and in a soft whisper, he began to sing, "He (God) Knows How to Take Good Care of Me."

Food City employed William, or Bill, as some called him, for the past 19 years. He enjoyed talking to people and was always ready to lend a helping hand or an encouraging word.

William fought a good fight and he kept the faith. Though we will miss him dearly, we know he's in a much better place and someday we will join him there.
