Geneva N. Wallen, 66, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Geneva N. Wallen, 66, of Kingsport, passed away early Sunday (March 27, 2005) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

Ms. Wallen was born in Blackwater, Va., and had resided in the Kingsport area for the past 60 years. She was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church, and also a member of Ladies of the Moose. She retired in 2003 from Quebecor, formerly Kingsport Press, with over 40 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl M. and Thelma L. Wallen; one sister, Phyllis C. Frye; and one brother, Bobby J. Kirk.

Surviving are one niece, Suzanne L. Tubbs and husband John of Winter Springs, Fla.; one nephew, Roger G. Frye Jr. and wife Beth of Virginia Beach, Va.; one great-niece, Hailey L. Frye of Virginia Beach, Va.; one great-nephew, Luke D. Frye of Virginia Beach, Va.; and one aunt, Elizabeth Farmer of North Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Oak Hill Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Oak Hill Memorial Park.

The staff of Oak Hill Funeral Home is serving the family of Ms. Wallen.

Megan Amyx, 15, Kingsport.
Graveside services for Megan Nichole Amyx, 15, of Mount Carmel, who went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (March 23, 2005), will be conducted at Oak Hill Memorial Park at 1 p.m. today.

For those wishing to attend the service, please meet at Oak Hill Funeral Home at 12 noon.

Roger Banks, 52, Church Hill.
Military graveside services for Gerald Roger Banks, 52, of Church Hill, who went to be with the Lord on Saturday (March 26, 2005), will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Mt. Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tenn., by American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265, Joe W. Byrd, Chaplain.

Lawrence L. Byington, 80, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Lawrence L. Byington, 80, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Sunday (March 27, 2005) at Brookhaven Manor.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Oak Hill Funeral Home.

Claude "C.C." Carter, 61, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Claude "C.C." Carter, 61, of Kingsport, passed away Sunday (March 27, 2005) at Brookhaven Manor.

Arrangements will be announced by Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, downtown Kingsport.

Matthew Lynn Cavin, 23, Church Hill.
Memorial service for Matthew Lynn "Matt" Cavin, 23, Church Hill, who passed away Thursday (March 24, 2005), will be conducted today at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, Church Hill, with the Rev. George Winegar officiating.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Taylor Cavin Education Fund, P.O. Box 276, Church Hill, TN 37642.

Helen Dellinger, 89, Kingsport.
Services for Helen Dellinger, 89, of Kingsport, who went to be with the Lord on Good Friday (March 25, 2005), will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Kestner officiating.

Graveside services will follow in the Oak Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, 213 Colonial Heights Rd., Kingsport, Tenn. 37663.

Louise Edwards, 83, Johnson City.
JOHNSON CITY - Mrs. Louise Chandler Edwards, 83, 1206 Vanleer Ave., Johnson City, went to complete her family Saturday (March 26, 2005). She died at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Chuckey but moved to Johnson City after she married and lived there till her death. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Cambell Chandler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Edwards Sr. in 2002; and four brothers and one sister.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Warren Edwards Jr. and wife Reta, James Michael "Mike" Edwards and wife Karen, and Charles William Edwards, all of Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Teresa Oliver, Vickie Hicks, Katherine Graybeal, LCPO Josh Paul, Curtis Paul, Jama Edwards and Melody Edwards, 10 great- grandchildren, Ann Barnett, Misty Barnett, Cami Loudermilk, Damaris Hicks, Amber Hicks, TJ Hicks, Bethany Baines, Whitney Baines, Braxton Conero, Brandon Conero; four great-great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Barnett, Riley Loudermilk, Jalyn Loudermilk, and Michaela Bowen.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home, Jonesborough, and at other times at the home, 1206 Vanleer Ave., Johnson City.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Minister Dixie Miller and Steve Miller officiating.

Interment will follow the service in the Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be LCPO Josh Paul, Curtis Paul, Terry McMackin, Scotty Royston, Eddie Miller and Jack Eaton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Paul, Darrell Bennett, Jeff Eaton, Katherine Graybeal, and Bud Schultz.

Nathan Todd Ferrell, 35, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Nathan Todd Ferrell, 35, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday (March 26, 2005) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Born Jan. 29, 1970, Nathan had lived in Kingsport all of his life, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School where he was an outstanding football player.

Nathan was currently employed by Waste Management of Kingsport where he had 10 years of service.

Nathan was a gentle, caring individual who loved the Lord, life, and motorcycles. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Trent and Bobbie Trent; paternal grandfather, George Ferrell.

Surviving are his parents, Waymon Ferrell and Mary Ruth Trent Ferrell of Kingsport; two brothers, Michael S. Ferrell and Christopher J. Ferrell, both of Nashville; paternal grandmother, Blanche Ferrell of Johnson City; several uncles, aunts, cousins, and numerous friends.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hunger First, 504 E. Center Street, Kingsport TN 37660.

Georgia Flanary, 86, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Georgia Flanary, 86, Kingsport, died Friday evening (March 25, 2005) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Wise County, Va., she resided in Kingsport since 1967. Mrs. Flanary was a dedicated worker and homemaker.

She was a Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Flanary; parents, Sarah Etta and Sam Neeley; sisters, Maude Cornett, Lois Fry, and Maxie Stepp; and brother, Frank Neeley.

Surviving are her daughter, Kay Hale and husband, Mike, Kingsport; one grandson, Sam Hale, Kingsport; one sister, Gerry Sullivan, Kingsport; one brother, Sam Neeley, Jonesborough; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, or any time at the daughter's home.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. John A. Hackney and the Rev. Sam Neeley officiating.

Music will be by the Strickler Quartet.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glencoe cemetery in Big Stone Gap, Va.

Pallbearers will be Mark Morelock, Charlie Hutson, Chad Hutson, Sam Hale, Ed Britt, and Keener Fry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Begley, Mark McArthur, Carl Cornett, Don Cornett, and Harold Cornett.

Memorials may be made to Kendricks Creek United Methodist Church, 1000 Kendrick Creek Road, Kingsport, TN 37663.

Brice Hamilton, 82, Kingsport.
Services for Brice Forgey Hamilton, 82, Dunbar Street, Kingsport, who went to be with the Lord Thursday morning (March 24, 2005), will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Tweed and the Rev. Ray Mullins officiating.

Music will be provided by the church choir.

The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Entombment will follow in Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265, Joe W. Byrd, Chaplain, in charge.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.

Services for Mr. Roy O. Hill Jr., 83, Kingsport, who died Friday (March 25, 2005), will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home with interment following.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Larry Wayne Jarrett, 50, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Larry Wayne Jarrett, 50, of Ft. Blackmore, Va., went to be with the Lord Sunday (March 27, 2005) at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, Va.

Maynard Morris Jessee, 85, Lebanon, Va.
LEBANON, Va. - Maynard Morris Jessee, 85, went to be with the Lord Sunday (March 27, 2005) at his home.

Arrangements are incomplete.

Jack B. McKay, 82, Chuckey.
CHUCKEY - Jack B. McKay, 82, of the Kingsport Highway, passed away early Saturday morning (March 26, 2005) in the Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol.

Mr. McKay was retired from Eastman Kodak after 44 years as a shift foreman in the C.E. Division.

He was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church.

He was a member of the Arcana Masonic Lodge #489 F&AM where he was recently awarded his certificate for 50 years of faithful service. He was a charter member of the Newmansville Volunteer Fire Dept.

His family noted that he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, William and Lillie McKay, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Geneva Renner McKay, who just recently passed away on Jan. 13, 2005; also, brothers, John McKay, Raymond McKay and Hugh McKay; one sister, Eula Lee Hughes.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Tommy Bowers, Frances and Tommy McGhee, Connie McKay and Thomas Bowman, all of Chuckey; two sons, Ricky McKay and Steven McKay, both of Chuckey; grandchildren, Jessica McKay, Jada McKay of Chuckey, Danny and wife Shelby Bowers of Knoxville, Anthony Bowers of Chuckey, Chris and wife Vanessa Bowers of Liberty Hill community, Jon and Karrie Bowers of Alabama; great-grandchildren, Ariel and Todd Bowers of Liberty Hill community, Kenny, Ashlyn, and Jamie Bowers of Knoxville, Brock and Alexanderia Bowers of Alabama; one sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Roby Myers of Kingsport; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, J.D. and Bunny Renner of Charlotte, N.C., Charles and Wanda Renner of Liberty Hill community, Dolly Sayler of Greeneville, Tootsie and Jimmy Gammons of Greeneville, Willie Kate Reed of Liberty Hill community, Ida Sue and Loyce Shelton of Kingsport, Imogene and Earnest Bowman of Greeneville, Doris and Freddie Shepard of Greeneville, Mary Renner of Chuckey; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser Funeral Home, Greeneville, with a Masonic Service to follow at 8 p.m., conducted by Arcana Masonic Lodge #489 F&AM.

The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Tommy and Pat Bowers in the Rheatown community.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Rader and the Rev. Richard Bowers officiating.

Interment will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and Jimmy Strong, Gene Starnes.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Newmansville Volunteer Fire Dept., Arcana Masonic Lodge #489 F&AM, Rev. Ronnie Duncan, Hobert Powell, friends and neighbors.

Memorials may be made to the Liberty Hill cemetery Fund, c/o Rosena Morelock, 3960 Old Snapps Ferry Road, Limestone TN 37681.
