Helen Dellinger, 89, Kingsport.
Services for Helen Dellinger, 89, of Kingsport, who went to be with the Lord on Good Friday (March 25, 2005), will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Kestner officiating.

Graveside services will be in the Oak Hill Memorial Park immediately following funeral services.

Visitation will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, 213 Colonial Heights Rd., Kingsport, Tenn. 37663.

Louise Edwards, 83, Johnson City.
JOHNSON CITY - Mrs. Louise Chandler Edwards, 83, 1206 Vanleer Avenue, Johnson City, died Saturday (March 26, 2005) at the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Greene County and was a daughter of the late William Henry and Mary Campbell Chandler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren Edwards Sr. in 2002.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are three sons, Warren Edwards Jr., James Michael "Mike" Edwards and Charles William Edwards, all of Johnson City; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Jonesborough, is in charge of arrangements.

Georgia Flanary, 86, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Georgia Flanary, 86, Kingsport, died Friday evening (March 25, 2005) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Wise County, Va., she resided in Kingsport since 1967. Mrs. Flanary was a dedicated worker and homemaker.

She was a Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Flanary; parents, Sarah Etta and Sam Neeley; sisters, Maude Cornett, Lois Fry, and Maxie Stepp; and brother, Frank Neeley.

Surviving are her daughter, Kay Hale and husband, Mike, Kingsport; one grandson, Sam Hale, Kingsport; one sister, Gerry Sullivan, Kingsport; one brother, Sam Neeley, Jonesborough; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, or any time at the daughter's home.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. John A. Hackney and the Rev. Sam Neeley officiating.

Music will be by the Strickler Quartet.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glencoe cemetery in Big Stone Gap, Va.

Pallbearers will be Mark Morelock, Charlie Hutson, Chad Hutson, Sam Hale, Ed Britt, and Keener Fry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Begley, Mark McArthur, Carl Cornett, Don Cornett, and Harold Cornett.

Memorials may be made to Kendricks Creek United Methodist Church, 1000 Kendrick Creek Road, Kingsport, TN 37663.

Brice Hamilton, 82, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Brice Forgey Hamilton, 82, Dunbar Street, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning (March 24, 2005) at Holston Valley Medical Center after an extended illness.

Born in Marion, Va., he had lived in Kingsport for over 50 years. He attended Hampton College Institute and was a graduate of Morristown College. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army for over 30 years and also retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lafayette N. Hamilton and Ora Forgey Hamilton; two sisters, Helen Jackson and Faye H. Long.

Surviving are his wife, Agnes Paris Hamilton, of the home; a son, Ernest Bewley; a daughter, Evelyn Wise; his grandchildren; two sisters, Paula Norris and Jane Stinyard, both of Baltimore, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Tweed and the Rev. Ray Mullins officiating.

Music will be provided by the church choir.

The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Entombment will follow in Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265, Joe W. Byrd, Chaplain, in charge.

Landon D. Head, 15, Greer, S.C.
GREER, S.C - Landon David Head, 15, of Greer, S.C., passed away Thursday (March 24, 2005).

Born in Atlanta, Ga., he was the son of Alan Head of Alpharetta, Ga., and Deborah Bonner of Greer, S.C.

Landon was a freshman at Riverside High School where he was a member of the Key Club and Younglife.

He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church.

As an animal lover, he, his mother and his sister all volunteered for Concerned Citizens for Animals. He enjoyed reading and watching movies.

Family was very important to him, especially his sister Elise Marie Head, who attends the University of South Carolina.

Tenderhearted, compassionate, and personable best describes him.

Surviving, including his parents and sister, are his grandparents, Robert Bonner and Ellen Bonner and William and Helen Head, all of Kingsport.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Covenant United Methodist Church, 1310 Old Spartanburg Rd. Rev. George Riser and Rev. Stacey Hanson will officiate.

Private interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concerned Citizens for Animals, P.O. Box 1332, Simpsonville, SC 29681 or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America, SC Chapter, 1247 Lake Murry Boulevard, Irmo, SC 29063.

The Mackey Mortuary, Greeneville, S.C., is in charge of arrangements.

Roy O. Hill Jr., 83, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Mr. Roy O. Hill Jr., 83, died Friday (March 25, 2005) in Vidalia, Ga., following a brief illness.

Mr. Hill was born on Feb. 11, 1922 in Dothan, Ala., and was one of three siblings born to the late Roy and Evelyn Hill. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Sue Hill, on April 15, 2002.

Mr. Hill attended Emory University and Auburn University, graduating from Auburn in 1944 with a B.S. degree in chemistry. He then moved to Kingsport in 1944 and began working for Eastman Kodak. He continued to work for Eastman Kodak and Eastman Chemical Products, Inc. for over 41 years, retiring in 1985 as a supervising editor in the Advertising Department.

Mr. Hill was a member of the First Broad Street United Methodist Church since 1946. He was also a member of the American Chemical Society and Society of Plastics Engineers, as well as the Society of Technical Writers, Society of Technical Publishers and the Society of Technical Communications.

Past memberships in local community organizations included Lions Club, Elks and Moose Lodge.

Mr. Hill became a radio amateur (W4PID) in 1949 and was a life member of Bays Mountain Radio Club and the Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation and a member of the Quarter Century Wireless Association.

He played trumpet with the Kingsport Symphony Orchestra, the Kingsport Community Band, and the Has Beens, and assisted with numerous charitable organizations around the Kingsport area.

Survivors include his sons, William and wife Terry Hill, of Knoxville, Howard and wife Barbara, of Vidalia, Ga.; and two granddaughters, Susan and Sarah Hill, both of Vidalia, Ga. In addition, he is survived by a sister, Connie and her husband Lamar Miller of Dothan, Ala.; and a brother, Billy and his wife Yvonne Hill of Marianna, Fla.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at East Lawn Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home with interment following.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations payable to Broad Street United Methodist Church music fund.

Jack B. McKay, 82, Chuckey.
CHUCKEY - Jack B. McKay, 82, of the Kingsport Highway, passed away early Saturday morning (March 26, 2005) in the Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later.

The body is at Kiser Funeral Home, Greeneville.

Julius Eugene Parsons, 56, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Julius Eugene Parsons, 56, passed away Wednesday (March 23, 2005) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident Wednesday night at Eastman Rd. and Fort Henry Drive.

He was a loving father, an avid fisherman, and loved dachshunds. He was a Lady Vols fan. He enjoyed his family gatherings and was a friend to all.

He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and was a 1967 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. He was retired from Eastman after over 27 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was past president of the Eagles Club No. 3141, a member of the VFW Post No. 3382, and the American Legion Post No. 3.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Franklin Parsons and Della Hartgrove Parsons; two sisters, Pauline and Dorothy; and an infant brother, Paul.

Survivors include two daughters, Tracy McDavid and husband, Stephen and Lisa Nichols and husband, Bill all of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Logan Jones, Luke McDavid and River Nichols; two brothers, Ronald Parsons and wife, Ann of Wetumpka, Ala., and Carl Parsons and wife, Marjorie of Lawton, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends anytime at the home of his daughter, Tracy McDavid at 1442 E. Center St. in Kingsport.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.

Services in honor of Julius Parsons will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kingsport Animal Shelter on Idle Hour Rd., Kingsport, Tenn. 37660.

Beulah Mae Ramsey, 85, Bristol, Va.
BRISTOL, Va. - Mrs. Beulah Mae Hillman Ramsey, 85, Bristol, Va., and formerly of Gate City, Va., entered into rest Friday (March 25, 2005) at the Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Ramsey was born in Scott County, Va., on May 5, 1919, a daughter of the late John Presley and Esta Ellen Hall Hillman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Ramsey in 1955; five infant grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Chatman, Willie Lambert and Bertha Lambert; and one brother, John Wesley Hillman.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Kay Ramsey, Bristol, Tenn., Linda Hall, Bristol, Va., Rita and James Adrian, Knoxville, Karen and Mike Rose, Bluff City, and Debra and John Taylor, Birmingham, Ala.; sons and daughters-in-law, Geddes and Judith Ramsey, Pigeon Forge, and John and Wanda Ramsey, Kingsport; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; her beloved pet "Brownie, " and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Gate City Funeral Home, Inc.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Eads.

Music and special poetry will be provided by grandchildren, Matthew Hall, Cheyenne Taylor and Hunter Adrian.

Burial will follow the service at the Ramsey cemetery in Dungannon, Va.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Crellis J. Rasnake, 77, Lebanon, Va.
LEBANON, Va. - Crellis J. Rasnake (CJ or Buster) died Tuesday (March 22, 2005) in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 77 after a valiant battle with coronary disease.

Crellis was born to Calvin Rasnake and Mattie Skeens Rasnake on Sept. 27, 1927 in Duty, Va. In June 1949 at the age of 22, Crellis joined the Army and served with the U.S. Occupation Forces in Germany.

After serving his initial Army tour, he returned to Virginia and worked until he re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951. For over 22 years he had a distinguished military career serving in Japan, Germany, England, and at numerous airbases throughout the United States. He retired from Pope Air Force base in North Carolina in 1972 and returned to Virginia.

Crellis started a new career at Appalachian Electric Power in 1976 where he worked until his retirement in 1989.

In his retirement years Crellis opened his own shop for small engine repair. He was always proud of his trout pond and loved fishing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and was always ready to display and discuss his gun collection. Crellis also enjoyed collecting and trading sports cars and VW beetles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William Virgil Rasnake; and his two sisters, Nellie Barton Edwards and Lorraine Hypes.

He is survived and will always be loved by his daughters, Debra Cronshaw (David) of Salt Lake City, Utah, Cynthia Lee of Bristol, Va., and Donna Scully (Matt) of Yorktown, Va.; his grandchildren, Evan Hunter Cronshaw, Brittany Lee, Cody Lee, Lori Ann Scully and Matthew L. Scully; his loving brother, Therman Rasnake; and sister, Hattie Viers. "Uncle Bus" will be remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews, Mike Gilmer, Don Barton, Carroll Rasnake, Linda Marshall, Sandy Campbell, Rick Barton, Timothy Rasnake, Thomas Rasnake, Wayne Rasnake, Larry Kelly, Mark Kelly and Jeff Kelly, and very special niece Brenda Bush.

Crellis is also survived by loved friend, Sue Wilson of Lebanon, Va., and her family.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Combs Funeral Service, Lebanon, Va.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with speakers, Scotty Campbell, Debbie Cronshaw and Evan Cronshaw.

Entombment and military honors conducted by the Lebanon VFW Post 9864 will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum in Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon. Those attending are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Evan Hunter Cronshaw, Matthew L Scully, Don Barton, Rick Barton, Jason Bush, Larry Kelly and Wayne Rasnake.

Honorary pallbearers will be Odell Kiser and P.J. Rasnake.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the Utah State Veterans Nursing Home staff and the Utah Hospice Association for their wonderful care and loving comfort they gave Crellis this past year.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Employee Fund, Utah State Veterans Nursing Home, 700 Foothills Blvd., Salt Lake City, UT 84113.
