WRIGHT, JACK, age 72, of 1216 Fate Rankin Road, Jefferson City, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday morning, December 22, 1998, at the Life Care Nursing Center following a brief illness. He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Julie Moore Wright; sister, Margie Sue Wright; and brother, Billy Wright. Survivors include his brothers, Franklin D. Wright, Luther Wright, Charles Wright, and George Wright, all of Jefferson City, and Clyde Wright of Anaheim, California; sister, Barbara Jean Maltba of Sanford, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, December 23, 1998, from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Reverend John Pinkston officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning, December 24, 1998, in the Swannsylvania Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening prior to services at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Charles Wright, 1234 Buffalo Road, Jefferson City, Tennessee 37760. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home, 411 W. GULLORD, MRS. VICTORIA RYZAK, age 77, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, formerly of Denver, Colorado, passed away suddenly at 8:15 a.m. Thursday morning, November 26, 1998, while visiting relatives in Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Gullord who died on January 29, 1998. Mrs. Gullord was a member of the Valley Lutheran Church in Denver, Colorado and attended the First Baptist Church of Dandridge. Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Kathy Gullord of Dandridge; grandchildren, Cody and Lacey Gullord both of Dandridge; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Frank Urban of Louisville, Kentucky; sisters, Valasta Shindler of Forsythe, Ill. and Anna Work of Newton, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday morning, November 30, 1998, from the Farrar Funeral Chapel in Jefferson City with Dr. Robert McCray officiating. Interment to follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Farrar Funeral Home, 411 W. HURD, BERTHA E., age 84, of Eidson passed away Friday November 27, 1998 at the Hancock Manor Nursing Home in Sneedville. She was a member of Grit Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Bertie Hubbard. Survivors: husband, Newt Hurd of Eidson, TN.; brothers, Isaac and Worley Hubbard both of Boones Creek, TN.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 8 p.m. Saturday November 28, 1998 at the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. R.L. McGee officiating. Interment in the Hurd-Edens Cemetery 2 p.m. Sunday Nov. 29, 1998. MCCLANAHAN, CLARENCE T., age 80, of Morristown, passed away November 27, 1998 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare. Preceded in death by his wife, Edith McKinney McClanahan; parents, Robert K. and Hattie Haun McClanahan; brothers, Ed, Howard and Johnnie McClanahan; sisters, Lula Cozart, Mary Kate Rhodes, Dorothy Jinks and Rozella McClanahan. Survivors: daughter and son in law, Peggy and Hal Long; grandchildren, Tim and Andrea Long, Holly Long; great grandson, Timothy Long. Services will be 8 p.m. Sunday at Mayes Mortuary Chapel with Revs. William Gardner and Rick Bradbury officiating. Military graveside services with V.F.W. Post No. 5266 will be 10 a.m. Monday at Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Mayes Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

MURRAY, WILLIS J., 67, of Jefferson City passed away Friday Nov. 27, 1998 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He attended Greggs Chapel Baptist Church. Survived by daughters, Pat Hooks of Heiskell, Nancy Murray of Fla.; son, Willis Murray Jr. of New Market; one granddaughter; sisters, Dorothy Purkey of Jefferson City, Rosie Franklin, Shirley Patterson; brothers, Arvin, Ralph, George and Robert Murray all of New Market; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m. Sunday Fielden Chapel with Revs. Gene Greene, Chris Howell and Elmer Murray officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Monday Rocky Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Fielden Funeral Home New Market.

SENSABAUGH, JACK BRUCE, 71, of 692 Tranbarger Drive, Church Hill, passed away early Saturday morning, November 28, 1998, at his residence following a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Charles DeWitt Byrd VFW Post No. 3382. He was also very active in the horse show circuit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles O. (Charlie) Sensabaugh and Georgia Boyer Sensabaugh; and three brothers, Clarence Afton Sensabaugh, Charles A. Sensabaugh and George M. (Bud) Sensabaugh. Surviving are his loving wife, Mrs. Stella (Davis) Sensabaugh of the home; daughter, Mrs. Larry (Alice) Nunley, Kingsport; two sons, Daryl Sensabaugh of the home and Bruce Sensabaugh, Baileyton, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Bryan Larkins, Tyler Nunley and Steven Sensabaugh; three sisters, Mrs. Jo Churchwell, Dandridge, Tenn., Peggy Pruitt, Jonesborough and Nancy Howington, Rogersville; a brother, Bobby G. Sensabaugh, Church Hill; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport or anytime at the residence, 692 Tranbarger Drive. Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Andy Sensabaugh officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ross Campground Church Cemetery by the Charles DeWitt Byrd VFW Post No. 3382. Pallbearers will be Bill Churchwell, Jeff Howington, Tom Pruitt, Tim Pruitt, Bob Tranbarger and Larry Churchwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Houston Walters, Charlie Ryans, Charlie Clark, John Marsh, Wayne Carter, Robert Brooks and Tom Ashworth. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.

WAYE, JOHN C., 56, of Beechwood Hills Trailer Park, Surgoinsville, TN., died suddenly Thursday, November 26, 1998 at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital of apparent heart attack. He was the son of the late John K. and Elenor Kersey Waye. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Bradley Waye of the home; three daughters and one son-in-law, Loretta Arnold, Amanda and Steve Seals of Rogersville, Janet Waye of the home; three sons and daughter-in-law, Greg Mitzi Waye of Morristown, John C. Waye, Jr. of Rogersville and James and Jalana Waye of Surgoinsville; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Helen McLain and Betty Jo Jones both of Rogersville and Peggy Dykes of Greeneville. Mr. Waye’s wishes were to be cremated. The family will receive friends anytime at the residence in Surgoinsville. Notice turned in by Broome Funeral Home.

WHITE, DORIS OLIVE, age 70 of 547 W. Hillcrest Morristown, passed away Saturday morning at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bean Station and a native of Kanawha, W. Va. Survivors: husband Francis White; son and daughter in law, Robert Lee and Deborah White, Goode, Va.; daughter, Doris ( Cookie) Lynn, Aiken, S.C.; brothers, Howard and wife Marie Clay, Waynesboro, Va., Curtis Clay, Yawkey W.Va.; sisters, Josephine Conley, San Angelo, TX., Katherine White, Charleston, W.Va., Jeanette McCoy, Orlando, Fla., Anna Marie Ross, Safety Harbor, Fla.; grandchildren, Robert White, Goode, Va., Neil White, Goode, Va., Bridget Lynn Foster, Rutledge, TN., Agatha Lynn, Aiken, S.C.; one great grandson, Caleb Lynn Foster. Memorial funeral services will be held Wednesday 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bean Station, TN. Rev. Raymond Long officiating. ABRAHAM, RICHARD O’BRIEN, age 68, of White Pine, passed away at his home Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998 after a lengthy illness. Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served 18 years. Preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Bertha Abraham, and also preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Bartlett and Charlotte Moore. Survived by wife, Barbara Robertson Abraham of White Pine; daughters, Tina Abraham, Sonya Cazzarin and Regina Cazzarin, all of White Pine, Darlene, Deborah, and Denise Abraham and Shantel Hufford, all of New York; sons, Bruce Cazzarin of Talbott and Richard Abraham Jr., of New York; sisters, Panit Lee Landin of Virginia, Challis Dietz, Loucille McElwain, Prunella Miller and Mary Ruth Henry, all of New York; grandchildren, Caitlyn Nicole Cazzarin of White Pine, Aaron Moore of New York and several others of New York; special friends Cindy and Bridgette Shoulders; several other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening December 3, 1998 at Farrar’s White Pine Chapel with Rev. Jerry Colbert officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6 to 8:00 p.m. prior to services. Graveside and interment service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 1998 at White Pine Cemetery with the JR. CURETON, MAURICE E. “PETE,” age 57, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 1998, at his home. He was born February 25, 1941 in Newport. He gave his life to Christ during a youth revival, was baptized, and became a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in Newport. Later, he was ordained as a Deacon at Grace Baptist Church in Morristown, where he also served as a Sunday School teacher for 30 years. He then joined First Baptist Church in Morristown where he also served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a devoted follower of Christ; a loving husband and a faithful father. He retired from American Enka/B.A.S.F. after serving 35 years as a Technical Supervisor, Operations Superintendent, Environmental Engineer, and in other capacities. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred J. and Elizabeth Combs Cureton; brother, Fredrick H. Cureton and sister, Elizabeth C. Layman. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Bessie McCravey Cureton; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Kenyn M., and Pat Cureton of Morristown; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Eddie Welch of Knoxville; grandchildren, Kristen and William Cureton of Morristown, Kelci, Macy and Matthew Welch of Knoxville; sisters, Helen Harper of Chattanooga and Myrna McNabb of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday, December 4, 1998 at First Baptist Church of Morristown with Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Burial will be in Hamblen Memory Gardens at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 1998. The family will receive friends in the Parlor of First Baptist Church from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Buffalo Trail Baptist Church Debt Retirement Fund or to First Baptist Church of Morristown. Mayes Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

BOWLIN, JAMES LUCAS, 20, of Whitesburg, passed away Monday, November 30, 1998. Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Friday at Stubblefield Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Stump and Rev. Terry Bunch officiating. Interment in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown in charge.
