JARNIGAN, CURTIS EDGALEE (BUDDY), 63, of 4063 Terri St., Morristown, born August 4, 1935, passed away on November 19 at Fort Sanders Hospital, Knoxville. He was a faithful member of Kidwell’s Ridge Baptist Church, serving as Trustee for 19 years. He was a charter member of W.HCVFD, where he served as Chief for several years, as well as numerous other offices. He was employed by Lea Industries for 18 years. He was preceded in death by parents, Sam and Ollie Jarnigan; and brothers, Dean and Beby James. He is survived by wife, Bonnie (Evans) Jarnigan; daughter and son-in-law, David and Tammy Watson; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Amy (Cope) Jarnigan; granddaughters, Jennifer and Julie Watson, all of Morristown; sisters, Mrs. Ray (Flossie) Horton of White Pine, Mrs. Herbert (Marzilla) McAmis of Mosheim, Betty White, Mrs. Charlie (Benny) Simmons, Mrs. Hal (Janice) Fox, Morristown, Mrs. Bill (Blanche) Russell of Whitesburg; brothers, Sammy Jarnigan, Jackie Jarnigan, both of Russellville, Willie Jarnigan of Morristown; sister-in-law, Gloria Jarnigan of Morristown, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, 2:30 p.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. Charles Smith and Rev. Harold Noe officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, 7;0 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons Bibles International, in memory of Curtis Jarnigan. HINKLE, SUMMER LEIGH, age 22, of Morristown, passed away Monday, November 16, 1998, from injuries due to an automobile accident. She was a member of Mt. Vale Church of God. Funeral services will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. at the Inez Church of God, Inez, Ky., with Rev. Tony Collins, and Rev. Lewis Ray Porter officiating. The family received friends Wednesday and Thursday at the Inez Church of God. Interment to follow in the Muncy Cemetery. Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

ALLSUP, DORIS L. YOUNG, 67, of White Pine, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998 at E.T. Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Leadvale Baptist Church. Survived by husband, William A. (Bill) Allsup of White Pine; daughters, Gail Hickman of Jefferson City, Melody Keck of Kingsport; son, Gary Allsup of White Pine; grandchildren, John Mark Keck, Elissa Keck, Micah Keck, Nathaniel Allsup and Emily Hickman; sister, Alice Hickle of New Market; brothers, Bill Young of New Market, Bob Young of Armuchee, Ga., Paul Young of New Market and Lynn Young of Clinton; aunt, Erma Whaley of Baltimore, MD.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service 8 p.m. Friday at Leadvale Baptist Church with Revs. Benny E. Keck, Charles Robinson and W.A. Galyon officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Saturday at White Pine Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at the church prior to service. Arrangements by Fielden Funeral Home, New Market.

RIAL, J.C., age 75, of Rutledge, died Thursday morning, November 19, 1998 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran in the United States Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Roma; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Josephine Rial of Tucson, AZ., John and Mindy Rial of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Terry and Diane Rial of Rutledge; daughter, Julie Rial of Phoenix, Az.; grandchildren, Jessica, Laurin, Aliza, Jason, Jefferey, Johnathan and Madison; and one brother, Carl Rial of Bradford, TN. A private gathering was held by the immediate family in honor of Mr. Rial. Friends may call the family at their convenience. Arrangements made by Smith Funeral Home in Rutledge.

TURNMIRE, WILLIS, age 89, of Thorn Hill, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998 at the Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was a member of Rock Bridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by wife, Anna Pearl Turnmire; sons, Ray, Edward and Doyle Turnmire; parents, Mack and Oma Turnmire. Survivors: daughter, Joyce Testerman of Kyles Ford, TN.; son, Willis Turnmire Jr., of Thorn Hill, TN.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mollie Bowlin of Treadway. Funeral services 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998 at the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leslie Griffin and Rev. Carl Livesay officiating. Interment in the Turnmire Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5 to 9 Friday, Nov. 20, 1998 at the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel. McNeil Funeral Home, Sneedville, in charge of arrangements. Phone 1-423-733-2246.

CARPENTER, JOHN. C. (CURT), born July 13, 1922, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 18, 1998 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. He was a resident of Morristown. Graveside services will be Friday, 11:00 a.m. in the Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family received friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial donations may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 3039, Morristown, TN., 37814. Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

CARPENTER, RALPH (JACK), age 61, County Line Rd., of Mooresburg, passed away at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital, November 18, after a brief illness. Preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette and son, Todd; parents, Will and Mertie Carpenter; sister, Hazel Lovin; brothers, Herbert, Kyle, and Willie. Survived by sons: David, Larry, Lynn, and Scott Carpenter and Donnie Carr; daughters, Debra Carpenter, Linda Valencia, Brenda Seal, Sharon Fuller and Phyllis Bunch; brothers, Major Carson and Hubert; sisters, Sara Gregg, Bonnie Waddell, and Edna Yount; several close friends. Family will receive friends and family from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 1998 at Stetzer Funeral Home, Morristown. Funeral services 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at the funeral home with Rev. SEAY, JESSE E., age 66, of Bulls Gap, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 1998, at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Seay owned and operated Seay’s Apartments in Whitesburg and was a member of Speedwell Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Janie Dean Seay; four sisters and three brothers. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hayes Seay; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Lee Smith of Bulls Gap, Karen and Gregg Silvers of Rogersville; and son, Jeff Seay of Bulls Gap; grandchildren, Travis and Tracie Silvers, Barry Wolfe and Cassie Seay; sisters, and brothers-in-law, Lorraine Williams of Bulls Gap, Ruth and Bill Wheeler of Jefferson City; special nephews, Roger and Sammy Seay; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, 8:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. Harold Manis officiating. Graveside services will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. in the Speedwell Baptist Church Cemetery. JOHNSON, JAMES PAUL, age 82, of Jefferson City, formerly of Sneedville, passed away suddenly at 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning, November 19, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Sneedville and was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary DePew Johnson. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mae Mullins Johnson of the home; children, Pauline McCurry of Jefferson City, Madine Rutherford of Jefferson City, James Johnson of Jefferson City, Lois Rickard of Morristown, David Johnson of Jefferson City, Rickey Johnson of Jefferson City, Edwin Johnson of Jefferson City, and Bruce Johnson of Knoxville; grandchildren, Jessica Rutherford, Chasity Collins, Crystal Johnson, and Mitchell Johnson, all of Jefferson City; brothers, Lee Johnson and Orbin Johnson, both of Sneedville; sister, Opal McDaniel of Sneedville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, November 21, 1998, from the Farrar Funeral Chapel in Jefferson City with Reverend Jack Free and Reverend Benny Jones officiating. YOUNT, IRA WILLIAM (DREW), age 68, passed away Nov. 18, 1998 at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Noeton Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. John Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 5266. PRICE, VIRGIL ONECY (PETE), age 73, of Whitesburg, passed away Thursday, November 19, 1998. He was a member/previous Pastor of Shady Grove Free-Will Baptist Church. He was ordained to preach in 1949 and pastored several churches throughout East Tennessee. Retired from Phillips Magnavox after 36 years of service. He was preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Bobbie Price; brothers, James, Willie, Robert, Eddie, Burl. Survived by wife, Beulah (Maize) of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Randle Susong; three grandchildren, Kristina, Adam, Erin Susong; sister, Virgie Hipshire; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Saturday night, Nov. 21 with Rev. Steve Corbett and Rev. Lynn Neas officiating. Interment will be in Hamblen Memory Gardens Sunday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. Stubblefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

MERRIMAN, ORLANA JUNE, age 55, of Central Church Road, Morristown, TN., passed away suddenly 4:46 a.m. Friday, November 20, 1998 at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital.
