BREWER, DONNA MCGINNIS, 49, of Atlanta, Ga., passed away Friday, November 20, 1998 in Atlanta. She was a member of Mitchell Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Homer Lynn Brewer of Atlanta; parents, Bill and Jean McGinnis; brother, David McGinnis and wife Sherry; two nephews, all of Morristown; and a special friend, Allison Caldwell. Funeral services will be 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Ross Woody officiating. Interment will be 10 a.m. Monday in Jarnigan Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

BARR, LULA, age 77, of 2521 May Rd. Talbott, TN. passed away Saturday at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred L. Barr in Feb. 1998. She was a native of Olinger, Va. Survivors: son, William and wife Joanne Willis of Bean Station; one sister, Anna Brewer, Olinger, Va.; three grandchildren, William James Willis III and wife Shanna, Donna Jo and husband Denver Edwards, Jacob Lee Willis; six great-grandchildren, W.J. Willis IV, Daymion Willis, Clay Willis, Krista Willis, Tiffany Edwards, D.J. Edwards. Funeral services Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at Westside Chapel. Rev. R.J. Seal officiating. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends Monday 7-9 p.m. at Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown. Westside Chapel in charge of arrangements.

BOWLIN, CECIL L., age 76, of Morristown passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 1998. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and was preceded in death by daughter Verla Corwin; parents, Dan and Treavie Laughner; brother, Fred Laughner; sister, Hazel Hayes. Survivors: husband of 59 years, Coy R. Bowlin; granddaughter, Mrs. Hubert (Melissa) Williams of Bryan, Ohio; six great-grandchildren; one great great grand-child, sister, Dexter Dalton of Morristown. Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Monday at Stubblefield Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Free and Rev. Scott Ledford officiating. Interment in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown. Stubblefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

BRANNER, MARY EVANS, age 94, of 711 Arbor Lane, Dandridge passed away Saturday morning, November 21, 1998 at the Jefferson Co. Nursing Home following a long illness. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.

CARTER, CLIFFORD, M., age 83, of 274 St. Johns Road, Morristown, passed away at his residence November 20, 1998. He was a member of Alpha Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Survivors include: wife, Fannie B. Carter, Morristown; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Peggy Carter, Morristown, Doyle and Cecilia Carter, Morristown; three grandchildren, Larry Carter II, Maryville, Natalie Carter, Nova Scotia, Canada, Brent Rorie, Morristown; two great grand-children, Lauren Carter and Andrew Carter, Maryville; sister, Odessa Miller, Jefferson City; brothers, Irvin Carter, New Market, Carl Carter, Maryville, California. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening, November 21, at Alpha Baptist Church, with Rev. Tom James officiating. Graveside services will be held Sunday, 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the church, 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Building Fund of Alpha Baptist Church. Mayes Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

CROCKETT, C.N. “BUDDY”, age 76, of Strawberry Plains, TN. passed away 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 1998 at his residence following a long illness. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City.

JARNIGAN, CURTIS EDGALEE (BUDDY), 63, of 4063 Teri St., Morristown, born August 4, 1935, passed away on November 19 at Fort Sanders Hospital, Knoxville. He was a faithful member of Kidwell’s Ridge Baptist Church, serving as Trustee for 19 years. He was a charter member of W.HCVFD, where he served as Chief for several years, as well as numerous other offices. He was employed by Lea Industries for 18 years. He was preceded in death by parents, Sam and Ollie Jarnigan; and brothers, Dean and Beby James. He is survived by wife, Bonnie (Evans) Jarnigan; daughter and son-in-law, David and Tammy Watson; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Amy (Cope) Jarnigan; granddaughters, Jennifer and Julie Watson, all of Morristown; sisters, Mrs. Ray (Flossie) Horton of White Pine, Mrs. Herbert (Marzilla) McAmis of Mosheim, Betty White, Mrs. Charlie (Benny) Simmons, Mrs. Hal (Janice) Fox, Morristown, Mrs. Bill (Blanche) Russell of Whitesburg; brothers, Sammy Jarnigan, Jackie Jarnigan, both of Russellville, Willie Jarnigan of Morristown; sister-in-law, Gloria Jarnigan of Morristown, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, 2:30 p.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. Charles Smith and Rev. Harold Noe officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamblen Memory gardens. The family received friends Saturday, 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons Bibles International, in memory of Curtis Jarnigan. Westside Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

MESSER, MR. JAMES, age 69, of Harrogate, TN. passed away Friday afternoon at the Claiborne County Hospital. The family will receive friends 6-9 Sunday at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate, TN. Masonic funeral 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Monday at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Scalf Cemetery in Knox County, Ky. Coffey Funeral Home, Harrogate, in charge of arrangements.

PARVIN, MARY DUKES, age 74, of Morristown, passed away November 21, 1998 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. Parvin and son in law, Gerald Antrican. Survivors: daughters, Patricia (Penny) Antrician, Tony and Shirley French; grandchildren, Al and Gayla Antrican, Teresa and Pat Portrum, Fred and Melisha Portrum, Lacy and Joe Bullington, Laura and Mike Mandzak, Michael and Christy Portrum. Six great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; sister, June Collins of Livingston; several nieces and nephews. Services will be 8 p.m. Sunday at Mayes Mortuary with Rev. Dallas Harrell officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Courtney Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Mayes Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

PRICE, VIRGIL ONECY (PETE), age 73, of Whitesburg, member and previous pastor of Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church and retired from Magnavox, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998. The family received friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Services were held at Stubblefield Funeral Home Saturday 8:00 p.m.. Family and friends will meet at Hamblen Memory Gardens 2:00 p.m. Sunday for interment. Stubblefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

ROBINSON, JAMES LEE, infant son of James Phillip Robinson and Leann Drawdy, passed away Thursday at Takoma Hospital in Greeneville. Graveside service will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Phillipi Cemetery in Bulls Gap. Rev. Hal Kirk will officiate. Wilson Funeral Home, Bulls Gap, in charge of arrangements.

SEAY, JESSE E., age 66, of Bulls Gap, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 1998, at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Seay owned and operated Seay’s Apartments in Whitesburg and was a member of Speedwell Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Janie Dean Seay; four sisters and three brothers. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hayes Seay; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Lee Smith of Bulls Gap, Karen and Gregg Silvers of Rogersville; and son, Jeff Seay of Bulls Gap; grandchildren, Travis and Tracie Silvers, Barry Wolfe and Cassie Seay; sisters, and brothers-in-law, Lorraine Williams of Bulls Gap, Ruth and Bill Wheeler of Jefferson City; brother and sister-in-law Charlie and Ruth Seay of Bulls Gap; special nephews, Roger and Sammy Seay; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Friday, 8:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. Harold Manis officiating. Graveside services were Saturday, 11:00 a.m. in the Speedwell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8;00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
