LONG, ALMA, 75, passed away Sunday evening in Ft. Sanders Hospital, Knoxville. She was a member of Alpha Baptist Church and was a retired bookkeeper with Hamilton Bank. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband, James Long; two sisters, Ociner Lane and Jeannie Melton; four brothers, Paul, Charlie, Pink and Samuel Murray. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Judson Bennett of Sparta, N.J.; son and daughter-in-law, David M. and Barbara Long of Morristown; grandchildren, Mathew Long, White Pine, Jennifer Morris, Harriman, Joshua, Andrew, Miriam, and Nathan, all of New Jersey; step-grandchildren, Jason and April Frazier of Morristown; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lloyd Murray, Grover, N.C., Clifford Murray, Kings Mt., N.C., and Oscar Murray, Sunshine, N.C.; two sisters, Irene Segers, Forrest City, N.C., and Bessie Carpenter, Florida. She was also survived by one day by her sister-in-law, Ruby Long, Morristown; several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Eugene (Mary Lou) Mead, Morristown. Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 18 at Alpha Baptist Church, where the body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to services with Rev. Thomas James officiating. Interment in Jarnigan Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 Tuesday at Stetzer Funeral Home in Morristown. Friends wishing to express sympathy may do so through memorial donations to the National Kidney Foundation of East Tennessee, Inc. 4450 Walker Blvd., Suite 2, Knoxville, TN. 37917-1523. Stetzer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

ARNOLD, MR. RICHARD, age 27, of Washburn, TN., passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville, TN. Funeral arrangements incomplete at this time. Coffey Funeral Home in charge.

BLACK, KATHY A., age 47, of Morristown, passed away November 16, 1998 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Mayes Mortuary.

CREECH, PAULINE, age 78, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998. She was a charter member of Russellville Church of God and was preceded in death by her husband Burley; daughter Annette; brother Bill Creech and sister Maude Jones. Survivors: daughters, Lillie Lou Rhea and Homer, Peggy Smith and Bill, Shirley Jones and Don of Russellville; sons, Jimmy Creech and Geraldine of Morristown, Burley Junior Creech of Russellville, Billy Don Creech and Frances of Morristown; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lona Bewley of Russellville, Dorothy Benton of Louisville, KY.; brother, Frank Creech of LaFollette. Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Russellville Church of God with Rev. William Gardner, Rev. Rick Bradbury and Rev. George Davis officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Interment in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown. Stubblefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

DRUMMONDS, RICKY DALE, age 43, of Monroe, Mich., son of the late Ernie Drummonds and Ester Drummonds Evans; grandson of Andy Miracle of New Tazewell, TN., passed away Sunday morning in Monroe, Michigan. . Funeral service will be Wednesday at Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe, Michigan. Courtesy of Coffey Funeral Home.

FREE, HARRY DEAN, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 1998 at his home. Arrangements will be announced by Fielden Funeral Home, New Market.

HICKEY, WALTER NEIL “TOBE,” age 78, of White Pine, passed away suddenly Monday morning, November 16, 1998 at his home. Funeral services, Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, 3:30 p.m. at White Pine Church of God. Burial in White Pine Cemetery. Family will receive friends, Wednesday evening 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, White Pine. Farrar Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

HORNER, SARAH TATE, age 76, of Jefferson City, passed away at 11:57 a.m. Sunday morning, November 15, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City following a lingering illness. Mrs. Horner was a member of the Oakland Baptist Church in Rutledge and was preceded in death by her husband, H.K. Horner; sister, Goldie Clevenger; and parents, Dave and Mae Davis Tate. Survivors include her sisters, Margaret Turley of Rutledge, Kathleen Farrar of Rutledge, Wanda Kinkead of Rutledge, and Doris Watson of Rutledge; brother, David E. “Popeye” Tate Jr., of Rutledge; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, November 17, 1998, from the Farrar Funeral Chapel in Jefferson City with Reverend Ron Stansell officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, November 18, 1998, at Farrar Funeral Home and proceed to Westview Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening prior to services at Farrar Funeral Home, 411 W. LANE, EARNEST, JR., age 72, of Morristown, departed this world on Sunday, November 15, 1998, at Morristown-Hamblen Health Care System after a brief illness. He was a lifetime resident of Morristown and retired from both the City of Morristown and Shelby Williams. Preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Sr., and Emily Lane and wife, Dorothy Cheak Lane. Survivors include his children, Sheila and Randy Sjolander, Jim and Mary Lane. Carolyn and Bobby Helton, Buddy and Beth Lane; grandchildren, Chris and Rachel Sjolander, Jed and Jessica Lane, James Mitchell, Jenny and Jason Helton, Joshua and Jeremy Lane and their mother, Marla; special friend, Elizabeth Witt; brothers and sisters, Wade Lane, Raymond Lane, Theodore Lane, Louise Rines, Doris Carson, and Patricia Weaver. Also many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. J.B. Gulley officiating. Interment to follow in the Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

LONG, ALMA, widow of James Long and sister-in-law of Ruby Long, passed away Sunday evening at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Stetzer Funeral Home of Morristown.

LONG, MRS. ARTIE M., age 68, of Corryton, passed away Sunday, November 15, at her home. She was a native of Anderson County and daughter of the later John and Lucille Crawley Nelson. Mrs. Long was a member of West Emory Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Faye Stoutt; her grandson, Michael Robinson; and brother, Jim Nelson. She is survived by her loving family, husband, John Long Sr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Cecil Berry, Sue Law and fiancee; Chuck Ross, Jean and George Robinson, Sheila and Mike McGinnis; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Betty Long Jr., Alan and Elaine Long; sisters, Nora Wright, Melba McCarter, Jean Allen and Cleva Perry; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her remains are at Highland South Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. Graveside services will be 12 p.m. Tuesday at Highland South Cemetery with Rev. Arnold Whitehead officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Highland South Funeral Home, 573-7300.

LOVIN, SALLY PEARL, age 89, of Mooresburg, passed away Saturday evening at Heritage Manor in Rogersville. She was a member of Big Hill Baptist Church in Mooresburg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ross Lovin; 2 sons, Rufus and Douglas Lovin. She is survived by 3 sons, Mr. and Mrs. Bascom Lovin of Morristown, Mr. an Mrs. Raymond Lovin of Mooresburg and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Lovin of Rogersville; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Colboch-Price Chapel with Rev. Willard Wilder officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Big Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday prior to the services at Colboch-Price Funeral Home in Rogersville. Colboch-Price Funeral Home in charge.
