PIERCE, RUBY L., born February 1, 1924, of Morristown, died at her home Monday morning after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Ruby was a caring, loving person who, until her own illness began to take its toll, was there to care for and support her loved ones in any way possible. An avid, accomplished quilter and excellent self-taught seamstress, she was happiest when sharing the fruits of her labor with those she loved. Marrying young and living through difficult times, she managed to somehow meet everyone’s needs and provided her family with a stable, safe, and loving environment. To those who knew her, it often seemed there was nothing she couldn’t do. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; three brothers; four sisters and two grandchildren. She is survived by Bob, her devoted husband of sixty years; and her loving children, Bob (Betty) of Charlotte, N.C., Clara Roach of Morristown, Jody Frambach, also of Charlotte, Jessie Aldridge of Countryside, IL. and Vickie (Michael) Fulton of Litchfield, OH; dear grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nathan (Diane) Frambach and Garrett, Leigh (Pat) Stevens and Shannon, Steve (Maryann) Frambach, Greg (Jennifer) Roach, Lindsey and Will, and Rachel and Joshua Fulton,. She is also survived by three sisters. Funeral services Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday night at Westside Chapel. Interment: Sunderland Cemetery, Talbott. Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

TAYLOR, MRS. BERNICE T., retired Hamblen Co. school teacher, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999. Mrs. Taylor taught for over 40 years. Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 12 noon. Rev. Edward Cunningham officiating. Interment will be in Hamblen Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home, Morristown.

THOMPSON, HELEN K., age 85, of Talbott, passed away suddenly at 9:03 p.m. Monday evening, February 8, 1999 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Farrar Funeral Home, 411 W. Broadway Blvd., Jefferson City, Tennessee, 37760. Phone (423) 475-3892.

WILSON, WILBURN, age 53, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, February, 7, 1999 at his residence. He was a Registered Nurse, employed by Life Care Center of Morristown and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Diane Clem Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, David and Stephanie Wilson of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Anne Marie and Brad Moore of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, David Matthew Wilson II, Jonathan Douglas and Elizabeth Marianna Wilson; parents, Stanley and Oma Wilson and grandmother, Flora Joseph of Yeaddis, KY.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Bob Williams of Charleston, S.C., Carla and Ed Bailey of Lewisburg, W. VA.; nieces, Christy and Rachael Bailey. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 9, 1999, 8:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. Douglas Clem officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. in the Wilson Cemetery, Yeaddis, KY. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

CREEL, MR. CECIL NATHANIAL , age 64, of Jefferson City, TN., passed away Feb. 9, 1999 at University of Tennessee Hospital. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Friday at Coffey Funeral HomeChapel in Tazewell, TN. FELKNOR, ADRIAN “BUD,” Felknor of Kingsport, TN., formerly of Dandridge, passed away 1:30 a.m. Friday, February 12, 1999 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.

FRANKLIN, CURTIS HOOD, age 38, of Price Rd., Dandridge, TN., died suddenly Thursday, February 11, 1999 at his home. He was an employee of Polyfiber Technology of Morristown. He was the son of the late James Hood and Agnes Duncan Franklin. Survivors: wife, Kathy Franklin and daughter, Amanda Boling, both of Dandridge; special cousin, Donna Franklin of PA. The family will be at the home of Joe and Jennifer Hughes, 742 Reflection Way, Dandridge. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Housecall Hospice, 1423 W. Morris Blvd., Morristown, TN. 37813, in memory of Curtis Franklin. Funeral services, Sunday, 2:00 p.m. at Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Rick Hollifield and Dr. Emmett Manley officiating. HARMON, RAY, age 77, formerly of New Tazewell, brother of Haskel, Paskel and Thelma Harmon Vance, passed away. Family received friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cox Funeral Home in Lake City. HENDRICKS, BEULAH ETTA, was born February 7, 1903, in Powell, Tennessee to the proud parents of Reverend and Mrs. Charles and Lucinda Willis. She was the only girl and the oldest of five children. Beulah accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour at an early age and entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 7, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. Beulah was married to the late Reverend Charles Albany Hendricks, and to this union thirteen (13) children were born. She was a member of the Martha Davis Church in Jefferson City where she worked faithfully until she was physically unable to do so. Mrs. Hendricks received her formal education in the Powell Public School system. We rejoice and thank the Lord for allowing “Momma” to share ninety-six years of her life with us. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence A. Hendricks Sr.; sons,Charles Jr., Bartee, Steve, and Daniel; daughters, Lee Ella and Ella Mae; mother, Lucinda Willis and father, Reverend Charles Willis; brothers, Reverend Orville Willis, Reverend Raymond Willis and Reverend Vernon Willis. She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her homegoing: sons and daughter-in-law, Joel Hendricks, George Hendricks, William Boyd Hendricks of Louisvile, Tennessee, and Jeremiah (Lina) Hendricks of Memphis, Tennessee; daughters and sons-in-law, Helen Rose Sligh, Neomi (Bose) Boyce of Saint Louis, Missouri, Wenona Spiva; brother, Reverend Luther C. Willis; former daughters-in-law, very devoted Lois Hendricks of Knoxville, Tennessee and Laura Hendricks of Maryville, Tennessee; and also a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and relatives. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 1999, from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Reverend Nathaniel Wilson and Reverend Wenona Hendricks Spiva officiating. HENSLEY, CASPER “CAS,” age 71, of Jefferson City, TN., passed away 4:15 a.m. Friday, February 12, 1999 at his home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City.

HENRY, EDDIE, age 43, of Jim Henry Rd., (Sandy Ridge Community), Dandridge died suddenly Thursday evening, February 11, 1999 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dandridge and attended Hills Union United Methodist Church. Eddie was a graduate of Maury High School Class of 1973 and was also a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He was a former employee of First People’s Bank of Jefferson County and the FDIC of Knoxville. Preceded in death by grandparents, J.B. and Bessie Templin Henry and Hal and Pearl M. Harris. Survivors; father and mother, Earl and Mary Jo Harris Henry of Dandridge; cousins, Ann Deatherage of Norris, TN., James M. “Jim” Harris of Oliver Springs, TN., Nita Oakwood of Oak Ridge, TN., Lynn and Joe Edd Essary of Tazewell, TN. Funeral services, Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Dandridge with Dr. Robert McCray and Bro. Frankie Edmonds officiating. Interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. HOLT, BOMAN, 82, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Newport, passed away Thursday at Deaconess Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Bowman was employed by General Motors in Cleveland. He was a veteran of World War II. He is preceded in death by his parents Porter and Thulia Holt. He is survived by sisters, Sadie Crumbly and Nannie Gibson of Cleveland, Ohio, Mae Stenson of Newport; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the Brown Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Horner officiating. Graveside service at 10:00 a.m. Sunday at New Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 Saturday prior to service at Brown Funeral Home. Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
