Duggan, Sandra Carol, age 59, of Lenoir City, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Ft. Loudoun Medical Center. She was a graduate of Tennessee Tech with a B.S. in education. She owned and operated Country Hill Daycare for over 25 years . A member of Kingston Pike Baptist Church. She will be remembered forever for her strong character, generosity, courage, patience, faith and positive attitude. She loved spending time with her grand kids and playing cards with her sisters. Preceded in death by father, Edward Gardner. Johnson, David H., age 58, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, passed away suddenly July 7, 2006. David is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Janine Johnson and his loving daughter, Sandy Obodzinski of Nashville. An avid fisherman, he was an officer in the Tennessee Striped Bass Association. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Mona Lee Best Harmadi, age 69, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning, July 9, 2006, at her home. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Loudon. Mona was retired as an administrative assistant with Lockheed Martin. She was a former volunteer coordinator with the American Cancer Society in the Knoxville area. Preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Mercedes Mohr Best. Survived by her husband, Roger Harmadi; children: Linda Hedenberg (Raymond) of Evergreen, CO, Cathy Clarke of Gatlinburg, Brent Clark (Jamie) of Slidell, LA; step-children: Susan Moser (Raymond) of Lehighton, PA, Sharon Gerhard (Sam) of Lehighton, PA and David Harmadi of Duluth, MN; 11 grandchildren and 1 great - grandson; brother, David Best (Patricia) of Millersville, PA along with nieces and nephews. Anna Bollettieri Casale, age 88, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Utica NY, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 11, 2006, at Baptist West Hospital. Anna was a former member of Church of the Blessed Sacrament and St Anthony's Catholic Church in Utica. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved to cook and please her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur S. Casale; parents, Rocco and Maria Bollettieri; brother,Joseph Bollettieri; sisters, Carmella Russo and Nancy Colacicco. Charles Thomas Cox, age 76, went peacefully to his new home in Heaven on Tuesday, July 11th. When welcomed by his Savior, we’re sure he was also greeted by his dad and mom, former wife Joyce; brother, Alvin; and four sisters, Ruth Jones, Rubye Williams, Louise Keen, and Willie B. Calloway; a stepson, Jeff Chinn, and other relatives and loved ones who arrived in heaven before him. What a homecoming! He is survived by his wife Janie Chinn Cox; three sons: Randal Cox and Tommy Cox of Knoxville, and Douglas Cox of St. Petersburg, FL; a grandson, Michael Cox, and a granddaughter, Alicia Cox, of TN; six step-grandsons; two step-granddaughters; one sister, Sally Cox Templin (Golding) of Pelham, AL; one sister-in-law, Gertrude Cox (Alvin) of Mobile, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, others relatives and beloved friends. Charlie was born in Clanton, AL, went to school and graduated high school there. After serving in the U. S. Army paratroopers during the Korean War, he later graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He worked many years for Eaton, Yale and Towne at various locations including Lenoir City and retired as Vice President of Operations in Charlotte, NC, in 1990. He was truly a gift from God, and his life was a life of giving and serving wherever God chose. He was a great father to his children and was always interested and involved in their lives. He served several years as an Eagle Scoutmaster with state and national recognition. As such, he had opportunities to enrich the lives of many boy scouts under his care. The thing that mattered most in his life was serving his God. He was an ordained deacon and former Bible teacher and a mentor to all who knew him. But his greatest gift of ministry was visiting people who were sick, hurting or grieving. He spent many hours visiting and praying with them. A highlight of his life was traveling to Israel with Janie-walking where Jesus walked-and then going on into Egypt and climbing Mount Sinai. Charlie became an active member of First Baptist Church of Merritt Island soon after he and Janie were married in 1998. He has been a blessing to all who know and serve with him, and he will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Services will be at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City, on Sunday, July 16th, with greeting of friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., followed by graveside services and interment at Lakeview Cemetery. Christine Kiger Giddings, age 76, of Albuquerque, NM went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, July 12, 2006. Christine was a member of the St John's United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed. Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Giddings; son, William James Giddings. Littleton, James Oliver, age 61, of Loudon, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 13, 2006 at Park West Hospital. James was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by father, Martin Littleton; mother, Ann Carter Gilliam and stepfather, Paul Gilliam. Survived by son, Anthony Littleton of Newport, TN. The body was cremated. Morrison, John R., Jr. (Bud), age 82, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006. Bud was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of World War II serving as a tank crewman with the Army in the Battle of the Bulge and a member of the American Legion Lenoir City Post #70. He owned and operated Bud’s Taxi Service in Lenoir City for 40 years. Preceded in death by parents, John R. Morrison, Sr. and Caroline Malone Morrison; brothers, Casper Z. Morrison and Bob Morrison; sisters, Edrie Calfee and Nina Morrison. Survived by wife, Pearl Pellom Morrison; step daughter, Joyce Huguenin and husband, Robert of Knoxville; step son, Jack Crass and wife, Betty of Lenoir City; brother, D. C. Jones, John A.- age 83, of St. Marys, GA, died Friday, July 14, 2006 at his residence. He was born to the late Corie and John A. Jones, Sr. on July 27, 1922 in Woodstock, AL. He was the National Director of Apprenticeship Training for International Union Operating Engineers for 15 years. A sister, Betty Jo Owings preceded him in death. John is survived by his wife Audrey Jones of St. Marys; son, Johnny Jones (Trish) of Warner Robins, GA; two daughters, Ronna J. Nelson (Kirk) and Linda J. Victory (Frank) both of St. Marys; and two grandsons, Shannon Jones (Paula) of Jacksonville, AL and John A. Jones IV of Milwaukee, WI. Helen Doughtery McNutt, of Farragut went home to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, July 16, 2006 at her home. Helen was a member of Grassy Valley Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was retired as a Watson's Corporate Office employee and was a former employee of Revco. She was preceded in death by her; mother, Edna Clayton; step father, Dewey Clayton; daughter, Karen Elizabeth McNutt Hannah. Survivors: husband of 58 years, Kenneth McNutt; daughter, Kimberly McNutt Barnes and husband Eugene; special friends, Ginger Chapman, Wanda Kimbrough and Gloria Russell. Nancy Hays Albert, age 75, of Knoxville, formerly of Fairfield Glade, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 16, 2006 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville. Nancy was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada and was a graduate of Walkerville Collegiate High School in Windsor. She graduated from Hotel Dieu Hospital School of Nursing in 1953 as a Registered Nurse. Nancy concluded her nursing career in 1988 as Nursing Supervisor with the State of Michigan at Hawthorn Center in Northville, MI. She was a member of the Church of the Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in Knoxville and a former member of the St. Raphael's Episcopal Church in Fairfield Glade. Nancy was a member of the Fairfield Glade Ladies Club and Garden Club. She was an avid dog lover and Gardner, with a perpetual green thumb. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Violet Hays. Survivors: husband of 51 years, Hank Albert; sons, Paul Albert and wife Laura, Reid Albert and wife Roseann and Kirk Albert; grandchildren, Alexandra, Jacquelyn and Nicole; brother, H. Juanita Presley Bingham, age 76, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday July 19, 2006 at her home. She was a member of Lee Heights Baptist Church and retired from nursing. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bingham; son-in-law, Johnny Jenkins and grandson, Michael Bingham. Francis F. Dunn, age 78, of West Knoxville, passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, July 19, 2006. Francis was a member and former deacon of Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Cherokee Lodge and a 32nd degree Mason in the Scottish Rite. Francis was retired from KUB with over 30 years of service. He loved to fly and was a retired pilot from the Marble Shop. Francis was an avid sportsman and fishing was his passion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Dunn. Survivors: wife of 58 years, Jean Dunn; son and daughter-in-law, David and Jann Dunn all of Knoxville; several other family members to include the Forrest family, the Sample family, brothers-in-law, Kenneth Smith and Willis Smith and families and many friends of the "Shed". Nancy Schlag Wicks, age 70, of Farragut, died early Tuesday morning July 18, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospice Center. Nancy was a graduate of Duke University, a master gardener, avid reader, devoted mother and grandmother, dedicated community servant, and was an active and founding member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Dr. Wesley D. (Pete) Wicks, who was Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville for 22 years. She is survived by her sons, Stephen Wicks, wife Wokie and son, Lahai of Knoxville, TN; Dr. Andrew Wicks and daughters Katie and Emily of Charlottesville, VA; and Jamie Wicks and wife Amy of Orlando, FL. Fowler, Joe W., age 81, of Farragut, formerly of Nashville, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 20, 2006 at Park West Hospital. Joe attended First Farragut United Methodist Church. He attended the University of the South in Sewanee and was an engineering graduate of Tulane University through the U S Navy V 12 program. He was a veteran of World War II. Joe was owner of Campbell Station Wine and Spirits, Marketing Manager for GTE Sylvania Lighting, National Sales Manager for Lithonia Lighting and former owner of Factory Sales Agency in Nashville. He held patents for many electrical and heating designs. Joe's hobby was raising Tennessee Walking Horses for his family to show. He enjoyed flying his Cessna 172 and restoring Essexs and other antique cars. Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Frita; parents, Virgil and Louise Fowler; brother, Howard Fowler. Survivors: wife of 57 years, Jean Fowler; daughters, Vickie Moneymaker and husband Mike of Farragut, Nancy Evans and husband Craig of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Chris, Jeff and Brandi Moneymaker, Fowler and Anne Victoria Evans; great grandchildren, Ashley and Taylor Belle Moneymaker; 3 nephews and a niece.The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sanders, Dr. Copley and Dr. Blacky and all the nursing staff at Parkwest Medical Center for all their excellent care and compassion. Mabel Vesta Acuff, age 85, of Lenoir City, went home to be with Jesus Thursday, July 20, 2006. She was a member of Sixth Avenue Church of God for over 60 years. Mable was an avid quilt maker and she loved music and her church. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul Acuff; daughter, Juanita Acuff Watson along with her parents, brothers and sisters. Mable is survived by her four daughters: Betty Weaver, Edna Melton and husband, Lee, Marilyn Acuff, Karen Richards and husband, Jeff all of Lenoir City; two sons, Roy Acuff and wife, Darlene of Lenoir City, Verlin Acuff of Florida; grandchildren: Pam Lewis, Ray Swain, Jared Weaver, Melissa Johnson, Rhonda Stephens, Mark Acuff, Angie Acuff, Preston Acuff, Tony Watson, Randy Watson, Brandon Watson, India Eldridge and Kristie Hartman; several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Whitford Couk; parents, Henry and Nancy Pearson; sisters, Loren Griever and Mary Vannoy; brothers, Clell Pearson, Charles Pearson and Arthur Pearson. Nancy Louise Evans Hobbs, age 88, of Farragut, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Colonial Hills Life Care Center of Maryville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Lawrence Hobbs; parents, Bill and Laura Evans; sisters, Elizabeth Taylor and Mary Norris. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Otis Tipton of Friendsville along with several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hobbs was a graduate of Knoxville Business College and a veteran of World War II where she served in the United States Navy. She was a member of Virtue Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Family and friends will gather by 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, in the Virtue Cemetery in Farragut for a 10 a.m. graveside service with Rev. Don Hubbard officiating. Cheryl Jo Stone, age 49, of Farragut, TN, formerly of Clinton, IL, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2006 at U T Medical Center in Knoxville after a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. Cheryl was a member of St John Neumann Catholic Church. She was very active in Jazzercise, loved boating and spending time with her family and many friends. Cheryl was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Smith, of Clinton, IL. Survivors: husband of 26 years, Tim Stone; daughters, Amy, Chelsea and Katie; mother, Beverly McBride Smith of Clinton, IL; sister, Debbie Rittenhouse and husband Tom of Weldon, IL; several nieces and nephews.
