Mears, Robert Lee, age 75, of Greenback,TN, formerly of San Diego, CA, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2006. He was of the Protestant Faith. A retired mechanical contractor, Robert owned a sheet metal specialty shop in Spring Valley, CA. Preceded in death by parents, Irvin and Alpha Mears; brother, Richard Mears. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Marge Edmondson Mears; daughters, Susan Mears Madden and Grant of El Cajon, CA and Sally Mears of Greenback, TN; grandchildren, Jillian and Janeva Bourgeois; one sister; four brothers; several nieces and nephews. Loretta Taylor Powell, age 83, was reunited with her husband of 59 years, Thomas Jefferson Powell, in the presence of God in Heaven on March 29, 2006. Loretta was born in New York City on June 11, 1922, the youngest of nine children, all now deceased, of Charles Matthew Taylor and Anne Sheridan Taylor. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Powell Young, and her son-in-law, Virgil L. Young Jr., with whom she has lived in Knoxville since her husband's death in Fredericksburg, VA, five years ago. Also living in Springfield, VA, are her grandson, Matthew Todd Young, his wife, Ana Calderon Young, and their sons, Ryan and Kevin. Her granddaughter, Amanda Marie Young, resides in Manassas, VA. Loretta's son, Dr. William Mitchell Powell, and his wife Linda live in Fredericksburg, VA. Their son, Thomas Milton Powell, and his wife Robin are located in St. Petersburg, FL. Lastly, she is survived by her adoring constant canine companion "Little Bit". Loretta was a long time active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, VA and volunteered for many activities in her childrens' school, Montfort Academy. In later years, she excelled in creating beautiful Christmas ornaments and decorative memorabilia. Tom and Loretta considered as their greatest achievement sending both their children to college through much personal sacrifice. Anne became a teacher and Mitchell a doctor of optometry. Mrs. Powell, or "Elizabeth" as her daughter lovingly called her, will be honored at a memorial Mass at 2 p.m. Saturday at St John Neumann Catholic Church, 225 Jamestowne Blvd., Farragut. Celebrating the Mass will be Pastor John Dowling and Father Joseph Campbell, pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in LaFollette, TN. The family will be receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Graveside services and interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fredericksburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Loretta's family would like to express their utmost appreciation to the medical staff of Park West Hospital, especially the nurses and support personnel on floors two and four, who treated Loretta and the family with such special consideration and sensitivity. Fred R. Turner, age 76, of Lenoir City, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday morning, March 29, 2006 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Fred was a home builder in the Knoxville area for 35 years. He was veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict serving with the U S Marines. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joetta Hagwood Turner; daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Gary Woodby of Strawberry Plains, Margaret and Jeff Wilson of Concord, Barbara and Tim Rowe of Atlanta, GA, Sandra Turner and companion Jackie Joiner of Lenoir City; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janie Turner of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Brian Wilson, Chris Woodby, Jodi Wilson, Melissa Woodby Warren and her husband Eddie, Mindy Turner, Gary Turner Jr., Brittany Turner and Nathan Turner; a great granddaughter, Victoria Wilson of CA. Charles Henry (Charlie) Leopper, age 58, of Knoxville went to be with the Lord on Friday morning, March 31, 2006 at Park West Hospital. Charlie was born in Oakdale to Ralph and Bertie McGill Leopper. He was retired from Oak Ridge Y-12 plant, but had worked at K-25 plant for several years. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Edward and Gary Leopper. Survivors: wife of 28 years, Jane Mounger Leopper; daughter, Rachel Emily Spencer of Knoxville; grandchildren, who where the light of his life, Shelby and Haley Spencer; brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Mary Leopper of Halls; sister-in-law, Lillie Leopper of Knoxville; nephews, Bruce, David, Steve and Randall Leopper; niece, Misty Leopper; several great nieces and great nephews. Floyd E. Climer, age 79, of Lima, Ohio, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Friday morning, March 31, 2006 in Lima. Floyd served in the U. S. Navy Coast Guard and was a retired insurance salesman. Preceded in death by daughter, Nancy Climer Allen; parents, Minnis Guy Climer, Sr. and Harriet Norris Climer; one brother. Survived by his son, Scott Climer of Lima, OH; daughter, Cynthia Climer Hunt of Mesa, AZ; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Johnson, Clarice Elizabeth Bounds, age 86, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2003. Clarice was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. She had been living at NHC Assisted Living Center in Farragut for the past two and a half years. Clarice was born and raised in East Knoxville and graduated from Central High School. She worked for Ideal Cement Co in Knoxville and Union Carbide in Oak Ridge. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Edward C. (Ned) Johnson; sister, Mary Helen Wilson; brother, Edward Bounds. Survivors: Step daughter, Virginia Garvin, husband Steve and their children of Lexington, KY; 3 nieces and 2 nephews; several great nieces and nephews; 6 first cousins and many dear friends. Pritchard, Mrs. Donis Meador - age 94, of Loudon, TN, formerly of Detroit, Michigan, went to join her heavenly family Sunday May 4, 2003. Donis was a charter member of Rouge Free Will Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star Rochester- Troy # 165. She retired from Cadillac Division. Preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Frank C. Pritchard; daughter, Billie Jean Smith; son, James Robert Pritchard; parents, Nathan Jackson and Etta Garten Meador; sisters, Blanche Demings and Iva Farley; brothers: Roy, Bernard and Johnson Meador. She is survived by her granddaughter, Yvonne Lorig of TN and grandson, Tony Benzenberg of MI; two great grandchildren and one great -great grandson; sisters, Eva Bugej of MI and Oka Thompson of West Va; brother, Nathan J.Meador of MI; several nieces and nephews. Windham, Myrtle Cleveland Tyler, age 85, of Knoxville, TN and Pensacola, FL, passed away Monday Morning, May 5, 2003, at the home of her daughter. Myrtle was born in Mobile, AL on July 6, 1917 to DeRoy E. and Myrtle Cleveland Tyler. She was married to Robert O. Windham for 52 years before he preceded her in death on June 10, 1987. Myrtle was a member of Christ Church of Mobile. She attended St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Knoxville since moving there in 1998. Survivors: children and spouses, Robert T. and Sandra T. Kagley, Henry Ford, age 80, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday evening, May 5, 2003 at his home. Ford was a retired truck driver and a retired employee of Lenoir City Cemetery. A veteran of W. W. II, he served in the U. S. Army where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Preceded in death by mother, Millie Kagley Simpson; father, Ona Kagley; brothers, Warren G. Kagley and Sherman Kagley; half sister, Minnie Jo Johnson. Survived by his wife of 47 years Betty Kagley; daughter, Brenda Hart and husband, Robert of Farragut; grandson, Robert Timothy Hart of Farragut; half brother, Carl Kagley; several nieces and nephews. Betty Jean Goley, age 63, of Lenoir City, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 5, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospice. born March 17, 1940 in Concord, TN, she was the daughter of Lonnie and Juanita Allman, now both deceased. She was of Church of God faith and a lifelong resident of the Lenoir City area. She was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie and Juanita Allman; brothers, William (Sonny) Allman; and husband, William Austin Goley. Survivors include her two daughters, Diana and Rhonda Goley; son, Gary Goley; three stepchildren, Tonya Jones, Michael Lane and Jeffrey Clark; three grandchildren, Sierra Goley, Julian Goley and Rodney Rogers; four sisters and two brothers, Evelyn Billingsley, Margarette (Phillip) Dunn, Deloris Allman, Wilma Allman, James Edward Allman, Thurston Lonnie (TL) Allman; two sisters-in-laws and two brothers-in-law, Jackie Nero, Pam (Terrence) Branch, Lonnie (Rose) Hawkins and Larry (Rhonda) Brown. Devoted relatives and friends, Frances Goley, Ruth Jacobs, Christine Burchfield, Helen and Greg Willis, Pastor J. Morgan Davis, Thomas Nolly, Charlene James, Susan Watson, Shaun Carter, Penny Fickell, and Elizabeth Wesson. She was dearly loved by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rogers, Dorothy, age 81, of Farragut, TN, formerly of New Orleans, LA, passed away Wednesday evening, May 7, 2003 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Henry Leo Rogers. Survivors: daughter, Kathy Rogers Autrey of Natchitoches, LA; sons and daughters-in-law, Henry Steven and Jaleh Rogers of Knoxville, TN, Robert K. and Anita Rogers of New Orleans, LA; grandchildren, Michael Rogers, Rebecca Lyn Autrey; The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 p.m. Friday followed by funeral services at 7 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Rev. Kathleen E. McCown Mincy, age 85, passed away Monday, May 12, 2003 while residing at the home of her daughter in DeLand, FL. She is a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Lenoir City. Kathleen is retired from the Textile Industry and was a member of the Ladies Garment Workers Union. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Claude T. Mincey, her parents John Porter and Katie Roxie Benson McCown, Brother Hubert McCown, Sisters Daisy McCown Moser and Margaret McCown. Kathleen is survived by older sister Juanita Johnson Blackmon, children Thomas D. Mincey and wife Irene, Maryville,TN; Ron Mincey, Hialeah, FL; Claudia K. Grimshaw and husband Bob, DeLand, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Dale Mincey and wife Susan, Monroe, LA; Ed Mincey and his wife Dawn, Fort Myers, FL; Kathy Seiloff and husband Mel of Rutherfordton, NC; Erika Fahlbusch and husband Darren, Orange City, FL; Chris Grimshaw, DeLand FL; Carolyn Schlunaker and husband Dan, Pembroke Pines, FL and Ron Mincey Jr., Hialeah, FL. In addition she is survived by five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Neaton, Gerald W. (Jerry), age 59, of Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN formerly of Emmett, Mi., passed away Monday morning, May 12, 2003 at his home. He was retired from General Motors after 37 ½ years service. Jerry was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U. S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Suzanne Johnson Neaton; daughters, Natalie Neaton Simpson and husband, James of Denver, Co., Nicole Neaton Tharaldson and husband, Chad of Dallas, Tx.; sister, Mary Miller; brothers, Edward Neaton and wife, Patsy, Peter Neaton; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home in Clinton Township. A prayer will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Hickey, Clifford "Bill", age 80, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 12, 2003. Bill was a member of Hines Valley Baptist Church, and a long time farmer in Hardin Valley. He was a veteran of the 316th Engineering Battalion B Company 91st Division U. S. Army serving during W. W. II in Africa and Italy. Bill paid a great price for our country sustaining an injury for which he received a purple heart. He was preceded in death by father, Howard Hickey; mother, Mae Hickey; sisters, Marie Jones and Thelma Stephens; and brother, Carl Hickey. Survived by his loving wife, Dora after 60 years of marriage; daughters, Linda Wallace and husband, Halbert, Martha Farmer and husband, Steve; son, Calvin Hickey and wife, Marti; 7 grandchildren: Barry Wallace of Atlanta, Ga., Garry Wallace and wife Kathy, Larry Wallace and friend, Kandy Caldwell, Cristi Summers and husband, Brad, Dusty Roach and wife, Melissa, Kathy Lay and Gene Hickey all of Knoxville; 4 step grandchildren: Lori McHenry and husband, Jeff, Brian Gregory and wife, Debbie, Marcie Welch and husband, Steve, Robbi Ashcraft and husband, Rodney all of Indiana; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Opal Rager of Maryland, Ora Mae and Bob Storey of North Carolina, and Mabel and Hamby Sigmon of Knoxville; brother, Gilbert and Geterbug Hickey of Maryland. Bill had a great host of family and friends who loved him and feel a great loss. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. Funeral services 2 p.m. Thursday Piney Grove Baptist Church with Rev. T. M. Cody and Rev. David Latham officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors conferred by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers: Barry, Garry and Larry Wallace, Dusty Roach, Brad Summers and Roger Yarnell. Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel, 11915 Kingston Pike is serving the family of Bill Hickey.
