Bierer, Bion Lewis, age 80, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN, formerly of Atlanta, Ga., Portland, Or. and Seattle, Wa., passed away Sunday morning, May 11,2003 in Knoxville, TN He was an active member of the Tellico Village Community Church. Bion was born in Seattle and and graduated from the University of Puget Sound.He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific with the Air Force and later active with American Legion and VFW.. Bion was retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation. He became involved with SCORE, Junior Achievement and many youth activities. He was an avid rock collector and member of many gem and mineral societies and also loved vintage cars. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pearl Bierer; brother, Earl William Bierer. Bion is survived by his wife of almost sixty years, Bette Luton Bierer; daughter, Barbara Bierer Long and her husband, Ken of Springfield, Or.; son, Terry Bierer and wife, Jo of Beloit Wi.; grandchildren: Troy Bion Bierer, Anna Bierer, David Long and Sarah Long; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Tellico Village Community Church with Rev. Marty Singley and Rev. Jo Bierer officiating. A reception will follow at the church. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Tellico Village Community Church or the American Diabetes Association.

Barnett, Azell, age 68, of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at the Park West Medical Center. He was a veteran serving in the U. S. Air Force. Preceded in death by son, Brian Poffenberger; and brother, Carlos Barnett. Survived by wife, Agnes Barnett; sons, Tommy Bryan, Vance Barnett and wife, Megan all of Lenoir City, Richard Poffenberger of Illinois, Michael Poffenberger and wife, Hope of Sweetwater, Lucas Barnett of Houston, Tx.,; daughters, Easter Barnett of Lenoir City, Deanna Armstrong of Michigan City, Ind., Marty Kirkpatrick (Barnett) of Houston, Tx., Ingrid Shaw and husband, Kenny of Valpo, Ind., Melissa Barnett of Lenoir City, Cindy Barnett and Denice Barnett of Michgan City, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; mother, Clotine Bush of Michigan City, Ind.; brother, Elvis Barnett of Michigan City, Ind.; sisters, Eldine Arcuri of Three Oaks, Mi., Cloetta Conrad of Houston Tx., and Raylyn Eldridge of Michigan City, In.; several nieces and nephews. Penland, Zora Fox, age 88, of Lenoir City formerly of Oak Ridge passed away Thursday, May 15, 2003 at the Parkwest Medical Center. She was a charter member of First Christian Church of Oak Ridge where she served as church clerk for many years. Zora was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 390; Women's Club Arts and Craft Section; 43 Club; Oak Ridge Republican Club and a volunteer at Methodist Hospital of Oak Ridge. She was a former employee of Oak Ridge Post Office; credit manager of Loveman's and Anderson Co. Adjustment Company. She was preceded in death by parents, B. W. and Rachel Melvina Fox; brothers, Leslie and Fred Fox; sister, Anna Ruth Goan; and husband, Henry Earl Penland. Survived by daughter, Patricia Grayson of Lenoir City; grandsons, Mark Grayson of Knoxville, Todd Grayson and wife, Beth of Hendersonville; great grandchildren, Megan Blank, Rachel and Anna Grayson of Hendersonville; several nieces and nephews. Tuck, Henry Harrison, age 71, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2003 at Parkwest Hospital. Henry was born on September 12, 1931, in Lenoir City. He was retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory after 40 years service. He also served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Preceded in death by his father, Leon Tuck and mother, Gladys Thompson Tuck. Survived by his wife, Sylvia Morgan Tuck of Lenoir City; brothers, Thomas L. Tuck, Jr. of Lenoir City and Jimmy L. Tuck of Ocala, Florida; sisters, Peggy Arthur, Joyce Huskey, Shirley Greer, JoAnn Laughlin, Alyce Ledbetter, and Pat Bowden, all of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. at the Hawkins Chapel with Rev. Charles Carpenter officiating. Family and friends will gather at Hawkins Chapel at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and proceed to Thompson Cemetery for graveside services at 10 a.m. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Ridge, George Ottis (Odie), age 66, of Loudon, passed away Sunday morning, May 18, 2003 at the Loudon Healthcare Center. Odie was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired construction worker. Preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Amanda Grimes Ridge; brothers, Tommy Ridge, Charlie Ridge, David Ridge and Johnny Ridge; sisters, Gladys Wood, Margaret West; and niece, Judy Gossage. Survivors: brothers, Bill Ridge of Philadelphia, Gene Ridge and wife, Bonnie of Harriman, Joe Ridge and wife, Sue of Kingston, Arthur Ridge and wife, Sharron of Kingston; sisters, Ruth West and Alice Strange both of Lenoir City, Nina Rose of Sweetwater, Elizabeth Crutcher of Stewart, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Jordan, Gabriel Taylor, an angel too beautiful for earth, infant son of Mike and Joye Newport Jordan of Knoxville, returned to heaven Monday, May 19, 2003. He is survived by parents; sister, Heather Jordan; grandparents, Lemuel and Velva June Newport of Sunbright, John and Joan Jordan of Decatur, Al.; great grandmother, Etta Jordan Rigsby of McMinnville; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Price, Larry E., age 55, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN, formerly of Edmond, OK, went to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon May 20, 2003. Larry was born in Allen Park, MI. He was a pilot with the U. S. Air Force retiring with 20 years of service. He was currently a pilot with Northwest Airlines. Larry was a member of First Baptist Church Concord. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha (Bea) Price. Survivors: wife of 33 years, Anita Price; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Debbie Price of Owasso, OK; daughter, Heather Price of Jackson, TN; father, Eddie E. Price of Dearborn, MI; brothers, Barry Price of Lake Angelus, MI and Garry Price of Placentia, CA; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of First Baptist Church Concord followed by funeral services at 7 p.m. with Dr. Doug Sager officiating. Wade, Wanda, age 67, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003 at the Park West Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. She was a charter member of Vaughn Chapel Baptist Church. Wanda was a LPN at Loudon Hospital and later retired from Lenoir City Schools where she was school nurse. Survived by her husband of 49 years, Glyn Wade; sons, Timothy Wade and wife, Brenda, Clark Wade and wife, Rhonda; grandchildren, Kansas, Kacee, Lindsey, Maggie, Aron, Luke and Daniel; great grandchildren, Austin, Julia, Christopher, Lacy and Gracy; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Henry, Albert Burl (A. B.), 1931-2003, passed away Thursday evening, May 22, 2003 at his home. He was a veteran serving in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. A. B. retired from BellSouth. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Preceded in death by daughter, Elizabeth Craig; mother, father, brother and sister. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Helen Heatherly Henry; daughters, Mary Kelley, Helen Tracy, Robin Elizabeth and Jada Renee; son-in-laws, Edwin, Steve, Greg and Jason; grandchildren, Nick and Blaire Shipley, Zachary Sullivan, Ethan Adams, Jason and Bradley Marrow, and Lydia Foster; and several nieces. Marie was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she had served as secretary for the church. She is survived by sister, Evelyn Bass and husband, Paul of Knoxville; 6 nephews, 4 great nieces; and 1 great nephew. Brashears, Joseph David, age 48, of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 25, 2003. David attended First Church God on Finley Drive in Lenoir City. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He had worked at the TVA Watts Bar Hydro Plant for over 25 years. He was preceded in death by his father, S.R. Brashears and his brother, Roger Brashears. David is survived by his son, Joseph Sage Brashears and wife, Jennifer of Knoxville; daughters, Chelsea Hope and Rachel Brooke Brashears both of Lenoir City; mother, Ruth Brashears of Lenoir City; sisters, Anna L. Brashears, Belinda Croft and her husband, Jimmy all of Lenoir City; several nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles and cousins. Richard Stephen Tuohy Jr., One of the Lord's youngest angels has left our world. Infant Richard Stephen Tuohy Jr. was born at home on Tuesday, May 27th. He died only minutes later with his parents, Candice Nicole Silvey and Richard Stephen Tuohy Sr. by his side. Both parents reside in Lenoir City. Sisters include Heather Tuohy of Las Vegas, NV. and Judith Tuohy of Crossville, TN Grandparents include Ben and Enzelle Silvey of Lenoir City, TN, Carl and Virginia Young of Kingston, TN and Nita Cook, now deceased. Great-grandparents are R. C. And Pon Walker of Lenoir City and May Walker, now deceased. Aunts and Uncles include; Frank and Donna Cook, Robin (Coulter) McClain, Mike Coulter, Tony and Tracy Bethune, and Shane Silvey. Cousins include Carrie and Jeremy Richard, Onie Moritz, Snoopy, Omega, JR., Jeanie Cook and Randy Stout. Brackett, Lamar Edward, age 63, of Harriman, formerly of Lenoir City and Tucson, Arizona passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was a retired health care giver. A veteran of the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. Preceded in death by father, Roy Marcus Brackett; sister, Wanda Brackett McGhee; and brother, Gary Lynn Brackett. Survived by mother, Odell Brackett of Lenoir City; sisters, Willie Duncan, Joy McGinnis and husband, Bill all of Lenoir City, Linda Jenkins and husband, Ray of Chattanooga, Patricia Baker and Gail Silvey both of Lenoir City; brother, Ronnie Brackett of Chattanooga; special friend, Peter Vandyke whom Lamar cared for and shared his home; several nieces and nephews. He served in the United States Army following the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Merle Hendrix; and brothers, Jerry and Hobert Hendrix. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Hendrix; son, Jay Hendrix, Jr.; daughter, Tracie Melton; granddaughters, Lindsey and Alyssa; grandsons, Alex and Landon; sister, Patsy Babb; brothers, Cleo Hendrix, Jr. and Fred Hendrix. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Martha (Pete) Littleton Dishner and two infant sisters. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Vesta L.
