Wolfe, Martha Jennette, age 66, of 300 North A Street, Lenoir City, died 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2002 in an apartment inferno that consumed the entire building. Martha was an upstanding member of Calvary Baptist Church for 7 years, while singing in the church choir. She was also a pillar of the community. Everyone who knew her loved her. Martha was preceded in death by husband, Youree Ralston Wolfe who passed away December 12, 1994; granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Thornton who passed away September 7, 2002; and father, William Homer Park who passed away August 18, 1977. She is survived by her mother, Mary M. Clemmer, Allen James, age 66, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, September 23, 2002 at his home. Allen was retired from Lenoir City Police Department. He was preceded in death by father, Hubert Clemmer; mother, Wilma Kelly Clemmer; and sisters, Betty Louise and Naoma Bessie. Survived by sons, Chris Clemmer and wife, Vickie, Aaron Clemmer of Lenoir City; daughters, Angie Shephard of Loudon and Sandra Clemmer of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon and Crystal; brother, Cecil Clemmer; sister, Judy Moore; several nieces and nephews. Dutton, Reece Malone, age 89, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at the Baptist Health Care Center. She was of the Baptist Faith. Reece retired from Genesco in 1978 after 51 years of service in the textile business. She was a special and loving mother. Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Effie Malone; brothers, Bliss Malone and Clyde Malone. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Hester Malone of the Cave Creek Community; special nephew and wife, Bob and Pat Malone of Vernon, Tx. Hair, Jesse E. Jr. (Sonny), age 73, of Farragut passed away Thursday morning September 26, 2002 at the Marshall Voss Nursing Home. Sonny was of the Presbyterian faith. He was retired from Union Carbide X-10 plant. Sonny was a member of Chota Lodge 253 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Bodies and I. B. E. W. local # 760. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army. Preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Edward Hair Sr. and Lillie Mae Looney Hair; brother, Jack Hair. Prince, Kenneth W., age 75, of Lenoir City formerly of Pennsylvania passed away Thursday, September 26, 2002 at the Farragut Health Care Center. He was retired from McDonald Douglas in St. Louis, Mo. as an electrical and mechanical engineer. Kenneth loved to travel. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pamela J. Prince; children, Anne Bock of Kutztown, Pa., Derek Prince of Geigertown, Pa., and Nigel Prince of Bernville, Pa.; grandson, Aaron Prince. Wilmot, Anne L. Conklin, age 81, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, September 23, 2002 at the Farragut Health Care Center. Anne was born June 11, 1921 in Union Grove, New York. She lived in Stamford for most of her life. She and her husband Robert, whom preceded her in death, together operated Hilltop Nursery for many years at Long Ridge Road. After retirement they moved to their home in Walton, New York. The last 3 years she has lived with her daughter in Tennessee. She was preceded in death by husband, Robert H. Wilmot; parents, Rose Ollila Conklin and Norman Conklin; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Howard Osborn; granddaughter, Donna Lynn Moe, brothers, Harry Conklin, Russell, Conklin, Calton Conklin, Charles Conklin; sisters, Jenny Wilmot, Alice Chuddy. Kirkland, Jeffery Todd age 37 of Knoxville, passed away Monday, September 30, 2002 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center. Jeff was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Lenoir City. He was a graduate of Lenoir City High School and University of Tennessee. He was an underwriter for Appalachian Underwriters. Jeff was a sports car enthusiast and loved scuba diving. He was preceded in death by mother, Joy Reynolds Kirkland; grandparents, Sam and Lena Reynolds, James and Mary Kirkland. Survived by father, Bill Kirkland and wife, Maxine of Sweetwater; sister, Kelly Townsend and husband, Russ of Knoxville; nephew, Jacob Townsend; several aunts, uncles and cousins; special friends, Decima McCollum, Ryan Cook, Charlie Roberts and Chris Ford. Amos, Bessie Irene Whitaker, age 89, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at her home. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and through the many years taught Sunday School, was W. M. U. President, worked in Bible School was very active in all church work. Bessie was a former employee of Alpha Industries and Johnson Health Care. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, Fred J. Amos Sr.; infant daughter, Aldene Delores Amos; son, Charles E. Amos; parents, Charlie and Maggie Whitaker; sister, Nell Horne; brother, Charlie Floyd Whitaker; half brother, Walter Llewelyn; half sister, Molly Llewelyn; grandson, Randy Pickell; great grandson, Greg Filmer; infant great granddaughter, Shaina Marie Fletcher; and great grandson, Zachary Hyde. Johnson, Frank L. (Swede), age 85, of Peoria, IL passed away early Tuesday morning, October 8, 2002. Frank was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and the Elks Club. He was a Sales Manager with Armour & Company retiring with 42 years of service. Frank was a veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater with the Army Air Corp as a Ssgt. He was a B-29 tail gunner and received the Air Medal. Frank was an avid golfer for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Victoria Young Johnson; brothers, Marvin, Urban and Eben Johnson; sisters, Olga Johnson, Vina Johnson, Margaret Johnson Telleen and Virginia Johnson Erickson. Gluck, Patricia Casey (Pat) aged 69 of Farragut, TN, formerly of Park Ridge, NJ and Monsey, NY, left for her final home in Christ early Tuesday morning, October 8, 2002. Pat was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Farragut. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph Gluck. Pat was the greatly loved mother of John William Gluck of Farragut, Barbara Jean Ellias and husband David of Thousand Oaks, CA, Ann Marie Madden and husband Kyle of Ballston Spa, NY. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren; Heather, Brooke, Bobby and Brady. Other survivors include sisters, Julia Coaloa of Punta Gorda, FL, Ann Brown of Woodland Hills, CA, Lillian Larijani of Manhattan, NY; brother, Joseph Casey of Encino, CA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Locke, Homer Abraham Jr. (Hal), age 79, of West Knoxville, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Tuesday morning, October 8, 2002. Homer was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. He was a fifty year member of Cherokee Lodge #728 F&AM and the Knoxville Scotish Rite Bodies and was a 32nd Degree mason. Homer was also an active member of the Knoxville Republican Club. He was a graduate of Tennessee Tech University School of Engineering and was a naval aviator in World War II serving in the Pacific. Homer was preceded in death by his parents, Homer A. Locke Sr. and Julia McCreary Locke; brothers-in-law, Trousdale Terry and Bill Stringfellow all of whom resided in Nashville. Survivors: wife of 55 years, Nora Gray Key Locke; son and daughter-in-law, H. Allen and Sandy R. Locke of Katy, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth L. and Sam F. Maltman, Charles William Sr. (Charlie), age 71, of Farragut, formerly of Bay Shore, Long Island, NY, passed away Wednesday evening October 9, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospice Center. Charlie was retired from Grumman Aerospace as an engineer with 27 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Ann (Annie) Maltman in December of 2001; parents, Thomas and Catherine Kay Maltman; Dorothy Wakeling. Survivors: children, Thomas G. Maltman, wife, Ellen and children, Kelly, Jason and Kevin all of East Islip, NY, Catherine Grello, husband, Fred and children, Billy, Monica, Chrissy, Ali and Matthew all of Farragut, Charles William Maltman Jr. of Farragut; cousins, Winifred Cuffari of Long Island, NY, Robert and Rina Kay of Glasgow, Scotland. The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Friday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. Funeral services 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Resurrection Episcopal in Lenoir City with The Rev. Suzanne Seavey officiating. Key, Roxie, age 93, of Eaton, Ohio formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2002 in Ohio. Roxie was a Christian. She was preceded in death by parents, one brother and 3 sisters. Survived by sister, Josephine Tinell of Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Bryant, Mossie Wagoner, age 95, of Greenback, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2002 at the Blount Memorial Hospital. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mossie was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Elbert Bryant; daughter, Barbara Helen Bryant; grandchild, Fern Yingst; sister, Stella Herrell; son-in-law, John B. Shephard. She is survived by her children: Elsie Shephard, Mildred McNabb and husband, W.N., June Quillen and husband, Robert all of Lenoir City, Norma Jean Yingst and husband, Harold of Liberty, Ind., Carolyn Heaton and husband, Jerry of Greenback, Susan Floyd and husband, Ray, Judy Bradburn and husband, Dennis all of Knoxville, Charles Bryant and wife, Maggie of Lenoir City, Bill Bryant and wife, Sue of Chattanooga; 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; special caretakers: Norma Jean Jackson, Evelyn Clark and Dr. Brian Thompson. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m. Saturday followed by funeral services at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Bryant officiating. Family will gather at 10 a.m. Sunday morning in the Hickory Valley Cemetery for graveside services and interment.
