Falkner, Chester Robert Astley - age 56 of Lenoir City passed away Tuesday morning, November 6, 2001, at his home. Chester was a veteran of the US Navy serving in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Billie House Falkner; daughter, Candice Falkner-Craig and husband, David, of Orlando, FL; parents, Irvin Southerland, Sr. and Irene Lily Astley Southerland of Tampa, FL; sisters Ann Willis of Maryland, Marveline Singleton of Georgia, Rubylee Foxworth and Darlene Reed both of Florida; brothers, Marshall Falkner of Florida and Irvin Southerland, Jr. of Indiana; several nieces and nephews. Conner, Dewey Howard, age 74, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at his home in Picayune, Ms. He was a native of Lenoir City and a former resident of Madisonville. Dewey was retired from the Merchant Marine Service after 37 years service. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator with many friends around the world. He was preceded in death by parents, George Conner and Nelle Conner Martin. Survived by daughters, Wanda Adams and husband, Donald of Picayune, Ms., Mary Ann Soldevilla and husband, Kim of Douglasville, Ga; sister, Ruth Lee and husband, Kenneth of Carriere, Ms; brother, Marvin Martin of Knoxville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Private funeral service and burial will be held in the Lenoir City Cemetery. Fanjoy, John Albert (Jack), age 75, and Louise Harwell Fanjoy, age 73, of Farragut, TN, formerly of Statesville, NC, passed away Saturday November 10, 2001, at their home. Jack and Louise were members of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Knoxville, TN. Jack was retired from the furniture business. He was very active in charities associated with FISH Hospitality Pantries. Louise was active in Questers Womens Club. Jack and Louise were preceded in death by their son, John W. Fanjoy. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Al and Connie Fanjoy; grandchildren, John A. Fanjoy II and Tara Fanjoy all of Farragut; Jack is also survived by his brothers, Thomas Fanjoy and wife, Mary Frances of Statesville, NC, Weldon Fanjoy and wife Nan of Hickory, NC; Louise is also survived by her sister, Mary Lois Lawson and husband Richard of North Brook, IL. Gold, Vivian Jones, age 82, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning, November 11, 2001, at her home. She was born November 9, 1919 in Lee County, Virginia. Vivian was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank H. Gold; parents, Jasper and Alice Jones; brother, King ; sisters: Anna, Lou, Nancy and Stella . Doris was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Farragut. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Walsh. Survivors: Daughter, Donna Berchem and husband, Allan of the Tellico Village community, Loudon, TN; sons, Larry Walsh and wife, Joan, of Seattle, WA, Bartley Walsh of Nelson, New Zealand, ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Maxine Connolly and Betty Houle both of St. Clair Shores, MI. She was a member of the Lenoir City Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was retired from H.U.D. as a public housing manager. Kate had also been in the real estate business. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Burns Sr.; grandson, Charles B. Burns III; brothers, Fred, Charles and James Howard; sisters. Goforth, Gertrude Keener Garner, age 88, of Lenoir City passed Friday, November 16, 2001 at the Ft. Sanders Loudon Medical Center. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Gertrude was the first lady in Tennessee elected to the office of sheriff where she served in Loudon Co. She was preceded in death by husbands, Theodore V. Garner who was also sheriff of Loudon Co. and Elbert Goforth of Cleveland, TN; sister, Zola Baker. Survived by her only sister, Evelyn Hope and husband, Jesse of Huntsville, AL; daughters, June Hensley and husband, G. L., Barbara Ward and husband, L. V., Alice Wade and husband, Tuffy all of Lenoir City; grandchildren, George, Lynn, Ted and Doug Hensley, Rebecca Dye, Carol Ann Clowers, Susan Rollins, Bobby Lester, Nunley, Mike, Stan and Brooks Wade. Robert was a volunteer fire fighter, police man and rescue squad member in Bluefield,Virginia. He was a member of the FOP in Bluefield, WVA. Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Wilfong Lightner. Gibson, Austin R., age 78, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Battle Creek, MI, passed away Sunday November, 18, 2001 in Knoxville. Austin was a retired carpenter. He was a member of the TN Carpenters Regional Association and Carpenters Local #871 in Battle Creek. Austin was a disabled veteran, serving with the army in World War II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Cassady; parents, Lawrence and Beatrice King; sister, Pansy Mcclellan; She is survived by sons, Steve Colvin and wife Rose of Powder Springs, Ga., Doug Colvin and wife Mona of Maryville, Johnny Colvin and wife Anne of Dallas, Ga., Dickey Colvin and wife Connie of Lenoir City and Bobby Cassady and wife Barbara of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Davis, Savannah Marie - infant daughter of Jeff and Susan Hancock Davis of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2001, at the East Tennessee Children's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Sean Ezell; aunt, Shannon Duncan; great aunt, Debbie Pierce; great uncle, Lee Berry; cousin, James Hancock. She is survived by her parents; grandparents: Jeff and Brenda Davis of Loudon, Darlene Hancock of Roane Co., Debbie Ezell of Kingston and Dennis Hancock of Summerville, S.C.; great grandparents: Lenna DeBusk of Roane Co., Amy Shubert of Roane Co., Cozy Range of Lenoir City, Hazel and Jimmy Davis of Niota; great-great grandfather, Lee Davis of Knoxville; several aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel in Lenoir City. Rev. Steve Kirby will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery in Roane Co. The family would like to thank all the staff at Children's Hospital and all those who donated blood and supported them during Savannah's stay in the hospital. Shoop, LaVon, age 92, of Knoxville, TN formerly of Centralia, IL, passed away Sunday evening, November 25, 2001 at the Ft. Sanders Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Centralia. A retired registered nurse. A graduate of Decatur Macon Co. Hospital. She was a member of the Red Cross for over 50 years. Mrs. Shoop was a member of Chapter T, P. E. O. Sisterhood. She was on the board of directors of Kaskaskia Workshop. She was the Past Centralia Woman of the Year. Mrs. Shoop was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was very active with the Girl Scouts. Preceded in death by her husband, Vernon W. Shoop; and grandson, Eric Shoop. Survived by daughter, Sue Brown and husband, Richard of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN; son, Charles V. Shoop and wife, Penny of Loleta, CA; grandchildren, Mike Brown, Scott Brown and wife, Shelly; Kari Brown, Ross Shoop and wife, Marlane, and Christie Shoop; great grandchildren, Christopher, Lucas, Joshua, Kayla and Madison. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Centralia. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to PCE in care of the P. E. O. Sisterhood or First Presbyterian Church in Centralia. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is in charge of local arrangements.

Littleton, Clarence Robert (Banker), age 83, of Knoxville formerly of Lenoir City passed away Monday morning, November 26, 2001 at his home. He attended Beech Grove Baptist Church in Knoxville. He was retired from Eastern State Hospital. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Mary Littleton; parents, Albert and Laura Belle Littleton; brother, Joe Littleton, Roy Littleton, Sam Littleton and George Littleton; two infant sisters. Survived by his wife, Mary Ogle Littleton; daughters, Rose Clarice Harvey and husband, Earl of Morristown; Pat Green and husband, Harold of Knoxville; granddaughters, Sandy and Lisa; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jerry McBee will officiate. Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens for graveside services. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is serving the family of Banker Littleton.

Peters, Judith G. (Poe)- age 58 of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, Tn. passed away Monday, November 26, 2001 at the U. T. Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Judith was an Environmental Engineer for American National Can Company for 21 years. She retired in 1998 and moved to the Tellico Village Community. Judith's hobbies were golfing, playing cards and cooking. She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Holmes; and aunt, Bernice Hershberg. She is survived by husband, Thomas Poe; step-sons, Mike Poe Sacramento, CA, Steve Poe and wife, Betty, and their son, James Poe all of Belmont, CA; mother, Natalie Holmes of Boynton Beach, FL; sister, Arlene Lockhart and husband, Bill of Ocean Ridge, FL; niece, Kathie Lockhart and husband, Jim Dixon of Buffalo Grove, IL and their daughter, Martha Dixon; nephew, Bill Lockhart and wife, Melissa of Pembrook Pines, FL and their sons, Christopher and Matthew; and her aunt, Rose Plowman of Boynton Beach, FL. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Martin Singley.
