Jones, Lee Zella Frazier, age 83, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2004 at the Ft. Sanders Loudon Hospital. She was a member of the Oral Baptist Church and was a retired beautician. She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Alice Carr Frazier; sister, Margaret Frazier Stapleton; brothers, Rodney R. and W.C. Frazier. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Hillery Jones; sisters, Ruby Howerton of Knoxville and Mary Neil McKinney of Greeneville, S.C.; brother, Robert L. Frazier of Christianburn, Va.; several nieces and nephews; special care givers and friends, Margaret Tucker, Janice Fine, Sharon Noah and the Home Healthcare of East Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Spears and Rev. Eddie Click officiating. Ragsdale, Horace D., age 81, of the Paint Rock Community, Kingston, passed away at his home Friday, February 20, 2004. He was owner and operator of Ragsdale Produce for 60 years. He was an avid Bible reader and he loved the Lord and his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hassie Rather Ragsdale; son, Kenneth Ragsdale; parents, Melvin and Della Ragsdale; brother, Floyd Ragsdale; sister, Mildred Eblen and son-in- law, Wayne Fair. He is survived by daughers, Betty Fair, Della Pickering and husband Gilbert; grandsons, Michael Fair, Jason Pickering and wife Tracy. Great-grandsons, Austin Fair and Allen Pickering all of the Kingson area; brother and sister-in-law, James and Carrie Ragsdale of Lenoir City; brother-in-law, Howard Eblen of Knoxville; nieces, Martha Westberry, Linda Ragsdale and Wanda Cox; nephews, Danny Eblen, James, Tommy and Robert Ragsdale. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m. Sunday at the Hawkins Chapel in Lenoir City with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Bryson Wood officiating. Christman, Dianne D., age 68, of the Tellico Village Community, in Loudon, TN, passed away on February 20th at home. Dianne was born in Oakland, California, April 25, 1935. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in San Francisco. Dianne worked for 20 years as a medical assistant to a general surgeon in Rochester, Michigan. She was acitve in several community organizations, including the Crittenton Hospital Auxilliary and the Meadowbrook Theatre Guild. After moving to Tennessee in 1995, Dianne become an avid golfer and Friday night dancer. She was a member of the Tellico Village Community Church. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Dorothy Kimpel. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Douglas Christman of Tellico Village; Son Stephen Christman and wife Lori, of Toledo, OH.; Grandchildren Rayna and Sam Christman; Sister Patricia Peterson of Morgan Hill, CA.; Brother Walter Kimpel of Freson, CA. A Celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2004, at the Tellico Village Community Church with Rev. Martin Singley officiating. A reception will follow in he Church Christian Life Center. Geer, Jere W., age 78, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, passed away at his home Sunday February 22, 2004. Jere was born in South Pittsburg, Tennessee on November 8, 1925. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Charles J. Kimmel (DE-584). He was retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory after 38 years service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dibrell and Eula Smith Geer; brothers, Albert and Clifford Geer. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Tuck Geer; Sons Matthew Geer and wife Brenda King Geer and Thomas Geer; Grandchildren Jordan Geer, Twin Granddaughters Mattie and Mackenzie Geer; Sister Ann Geer Kaplan of California. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p m Tuesday at Hawkins chapel in Lenoir City with funeral service to follow at 7:30 p m with Rev. Charles Carpenter officiating. Family and friends will gather at Hawkins Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and proceed to the Thompson Cemetery for 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. Koontz, Stanley William, age 85, of the Rarity Bay Community, in Vonore, TN, formerly of Redding, OH and Crossville, TN, passed away Monday, February 23, 2004. A veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Army in Italy. He was a member of Tellico Village Community Church. Stanley retired from General Electric. Following his retirement, he worked for over 20 years at Stonehenge Golf Club in Crossville as their starter. Preceded in death by first wife, Marge Koontz and parents, Edgar and Leona Koontz. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Dorothy Koontz; sons, Ric Koontz of Crossville and Scott Koontz of Charleston, S.C.; and 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by Dorothy's three children and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2004 at Tellico Village Community Church with Rev. Shubert, Johnny Lyle Sr., age 52, of Lenoir City, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2004. He was a member of Jackson Chapel Baptist Church in Loudon. Johnny was employed by Yale Security for 26 years. He was preceded in death by his infant son, David; parents, Dave and Hazel Shubert; brothers, Arnold, Bobby, Marlin and Leonard; sisters, Nanny and Rossie. He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Wanda Shubert; children, Angie Caughorn and husband, Jerry, Johnny Shubert and wife, Crystal; Wanda Collins and husband, Joe, and Leslie Key and husband, Jonathan; grandchildren, Whitney, Austin, Taylor, David, Adrianna, Kasea, Cordell, Joshua and Amber; sister, Peggy; brother, Jay; several nieces and nephews. Williams, Anna Lou, age 89, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, February 29, 2004 at her home. She was a Charter Member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death her husband, Charles Edgar (Ed) Williams; parents, Frank and Ruby Calhoun Pickel; son-in-law, Cecil Brookshear. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother. Survived by children and spouses, Boyd and Sue Williams, Ralph and Alice Williams, Frank and Carolea Williams, Jane and Charles Campbell, Sue Brookshear all of Lenoir City; Irma and John Gibson of Loudon, Clyde and Betty Williams of Coker Creek, Carl and Lisa Williams of Athens; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pickel, Gary Lee, age 71, of Kingston, passed away Sunday, February 29, 2004 at his home. He was a member of New Midway Baptist Church. Gary was an Instrument Mechanic at K-25 for 39 years. A veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Korean War. Preceded in death by father, Walter Pickel; brothers, J. W. Pickel and Paul Pickel. Falin, Lema Clark, age 82, of Kingsport, formerly of Bristol, passed away Tuesday morning, February 1, 2005 at the home of her son in Farragut. Lema was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church in Kingsport, a former member of First United Methodist Church in Bristol and was active in the church. She was a member of a service club of Bristol. Lema loved to travel encompassing trips overseas, cruises and had traveled all over the U S and Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Worley Falin Jr. In 1996; parents, Palmer Clark and Nora Clark; brothers, Warren Clark and B. A. Clark. Gellar, Burton Lyle (Yankee), age 43, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday morning, February 2, 2005 in Nashville. He was a Christian. Burton was active in helping others in need by making blankets for the homeless. He was preceded in death by father, Jerry Geller and wife, Kathleen Vaughn Geller. Survived by mother, Gloria Geller of New York City; special sister, Paula Kilby and husband, Frank of Lenoir City; numerous other brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. Donovan, Velma Lane, age 95, of Greenwood, SC, formerly of Farragut, widow of William Andrew "Pat" Donovan, died February 1, 2005. Velma was born in Sevier County on February 6, 1909. She was the daughter of the late William Pless and Mary Matilda Caughron Lane. Velma formerly worked in the school cafeteria at Farragut School and was a long time and active member of First Baptist Church Concord. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Patsy) Whatley of Greenwood; a son, William Andrew "Andy": Donovan of Knoxville; two sisters, Mattye Ross and Mary Kate Franklin, both of Knoxville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steve Peek and Rev. David Hyers officiating. Raby, Opal Prince, age 79, of Farragut, passed away Thursday morning, February 3, 2005 at her home. Opal was an active member of Middle Creek Baptist Church during her early life and of Concord Presbyterian Church during much of her adult life. Her life=s joy and work were dedicated to the love of nature and the education of children. Nothing pleased her more than a wonderful walk in the woods or a glimpse of the stars. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her love of rhymes and poetry. She retired from Knox County Schools where she served as a teacher at Farragut Middle School and later served as a volunteer at Ball Camp Elementary. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. Raby; parents, John and Edith Phillips Prince; brother, Johnny Prince; sister, Wilma Rose Prince Winer; half brother, Tom Prince; beloved aunt, Mae Phillips Walls; sister-in-law, Grace Coker. She is survived by her uncle, Arnold Walls; brother-in-law, Fred Coker. She was surrounded by loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were like her children. Williams, Sarah Elizabeth, age 93, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Baptist Health Care Center. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Retired from Knoxville Convalescent Center. Preceded in death by husband, Lester Williams; daughters, Pauline Strickland, Rosemary Littleton and Hazel Mincey; son, Jackie Williams. Survived by daughters, Dorothy Crowe, Frances Reynolds, Velma Reynolds and Patricia Williams; sons, Charles Williams and Willie Paul Williams; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Clyde Moats; several nieces and nephews. Douglas, Larry James, age 51, of Gallatin, died February 2, 2005 at Park West Hospital in Knoxville. Visitation will be February 4th from 4 - 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday the 5th at 12 Noon from the chapel of Newby Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park. Larry was born in Nashville, TN on June 10, 1953 son of the late James Morphew Douglas and Beulah Durham Douglas. He was a very loving and caring person, with a gentle spirit. Cornett, William McKinley (Mac), age 84, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Ft. Sanders Parkwest Hospital. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served in the Seabees during World War II. He was former owner of Mac’s Auto Parts. Preceded in death by wife, Allie E. Cornett; parents, Samuel and Julia Frye Cornett; brothers, Jim and Henry Cornett; sisters, Margaret Smith and Christina Russell. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Judy Cornett and Richard Parrott; granddaughter, Rachel Parrott; sister, Mildred Allison; a host of special friends including Katherine Jenkins, C. A. Turner, George Henry, age 56, of Loudon, passed away suddenly Saturday, February 5, 2005. George was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and had more recently attended Riverview Baptist Church. He retired from Charles Bacon Hosiery Mill. George was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ina Turner. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marie Wallace Turner; son, Brad Turner and daughter, Leona Turner all of Loudon; mother-in-law, Mable Wallace; sister-in-law Margie Kirkland and her husband, Larry; nephew, Travis Kirkland along with several aunts, uncles and cousins, and many special friends. Bivens, Eddie Jay, Jr., age 54, of Summerville, GA formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2005 at his home. He was born October 24, 1950 in Loudon, TN, the son of Ola Irene Bevins Tucker and the late Eddie Jay Bivens Sr. He had worked as a truck driver. Survived by his wife, Ethel Mae Bivens; sons, Michael Jay Bivens of Harriman and Randy Eugene Dial; daughter, Wendy Kay Dial both of Summerville, GA; mother, Ola Irene Bivens Tucker; brother Garry Lee Bivens both of Lenoir City; 5 grandchildren. Rogers, Roxie Rasar, age 97, of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at N H C of Oak Ridge. She was a member of South Holston Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, Ed Rogers; son, Roy Rogers Sr.; great granddaughter, Summer Nicole Dutton; twin sister, Rada Munsey along with 1 brother and 5 other sisters. Survived by her children, Jack Rogers and wife, Pat of Lenoir City, Betty Skidmore and husband, Hank of Orlando, FL, Raymond Rogers and wife, Tonie of Oak Ridge, Paul Rogers and wife, Betty of Lenoir City; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Victoria is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Thomas Walters of the Tellico Village Community, who are members of St. Thomas Catholic Church; grandchildren, Mark, Lisa, Pamela and Sara; great grandchildren, Alex, William, Daniel, Amanda, Kevin, Owen, Thomas and Lailabella; sister, Estelle Urban; nephew, Gerald Urban and wife Florence; several other nephews and nieces.
