Rawls, Roy Clayton, age 92, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2006. He was born November 28, 1913, beloved husband of Evelyn Ruth Packett Rawls. Roy was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He always said his children were his greatest accomplishment recognizing that none would be president but they were all honorable citizens. Roy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Lenoir City, serving as Scout Master, Trinity Trotters and various other duties. He was formally employed at Tuff and Tuff Shirt Factory, Lenoir Car Works, Oak Ridge Laboratory and later as an iron worker. He was a member of Iron Worker Local Union #384. Slim as he was referred to while working for T.V.A. taught evening blue print reading classes. He was initiated into the Masonic Lodge at Kevil, KY in August 1952. Roy achieved 32nd degree status in the Knoxville A and A Scottish Rite. His hobbies included cooking sausage and biscuits, coon hunting, working with small engines and story telling. He could fix anything no matter how bad, but his real genius lay with baling wire. Roy was a private person with simple needs, mainly keeping us warm, safe and well fed. He was the kind of person you always knew when he was in the room. He is survived by five children: Sandra Jane Patnode, Robert Clayton Rawls, Stephen Brady Rawls, Ruth Rawls Pepin and Becky Buckley; 11 grandchildren: Stephen, J. D., Tyler and Michael Patnode, Kariann Deno, Jeremy Clayton Rawls, Thomas Howard Herzog, Jennifer Pepin Davidovicz, Michael Clayton Pepin, Lauren and Andrew Buckley; five great grandchildren, with another on the way, Clayton and Cooper Patnode, Christian, Gillianne and Oliver Deno. Dad’s creed “Actions speak louder than words” and “Do the best you can with what you got” are words that we all live by. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 30th at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City. A masonic service will follow conducted by Avery Masonic Lodge #593 F & AM. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Lenoir City Cemetery. Sally Branin Primka, age 66, Teacher, Harpist, formerly of South Brunswick, NJ, died January 25, 2006 at home in Boynton Beach, Florida. Sally was a teacher and learning consultant for West Windsor, Cranbury, Jamesburg, and Milltown school districts. Her 25-year career included reading and math teacher, cheerleading advisor, resource room teacher, Learning Disability Teacher-Consultant and Chairperson of Special Services. Sally attended St. Agnes Episcopal School in Alexandria, VA and Mary Washington College. She was an accomplished harpist who studied under Carlos Salzado. She obtained her B.S. degree and M.A. degree from The State College of N.J. Sally earned honors in "Who's Who" and "Outstanding Leaders in Education". She was a past member of the Orton Dyslexic Society, Assoc. of Learning Consultants, Council for Exceptional Children, So. Brunswick Women's Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution of Palm Beach, and the First Presbyterian Church of Boynton Beach. born in Wintrop, Mass., she spent most of her life in New Jersey and retired to Boynton Beach, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Juanita Branin, and her sister, Sue Snow. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Edward J. Primka Jr.; her brother Francis "Skip" Branin; her daughter Dawn Smith and her husband Michael Smith; her son, Edward Primka, MD and his wife Lynda Primka, MD; her granddaughters Sarah and Lauren Smith; her grandsons: Edward Primka lV, Alexander and Daniel Primka, Bradley and Garrett Smith. She was much loved and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Faith Lutheran Church, 239 Jamestown Blvd. in Farragut. Janow, Opal Mae, age 62, of Kingston, passed away Friday, January 27, 2006 at her home. She was a member of Shepherds Fold Baptist Church in Loudon and was a licensed L.P.N. Preceded in death by her father, Dave C. Beason and daughter, Opal Marie Rogers. Survived by her husband, Clyde Janow; children, Tammy Marney and husband, Donnie of Kingston, Marshall Rogers and wife, Buffy of Harriman, Richard Rogers and wife, Keila of Bledsoe Co.; foster daughter, Karen Dunn and husband, Michael of Harriman; step children, Robert Janow and wife, Rita and Charles Janow all of Spring City; grandchildren, Tasha Marney, Natasha Peck, Brandon Peck, Dylan Rogers and Damien Blevins; mother, Roxie Roberts of Kingston; brothers, James Everett Beason of Kingston, David Beason and wife, Louise of Snellville, GA; sister, Connie Powell and husband, Mike of Sweetwater; several nieces and nephews. Mann, David L., age 74, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, passed away Friday, January 27, 2006 at the Fort Loudoun Medical Center. David was a member of the Tellico Village Community Church and was a retired Flight Operations Manager for United Airlines. He was an avid boater and a supporter of the Tennessee Lady Vols. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John W. Mann, Sr. and Naomi Priehs Mann; brothers, Dr. John W. Mann, Jr., Dr. James P. Mann and Robert V. Mann. David is survived by his wife of 32 years, Christa Mann; step-children, Dr. Brian A. Hamann and wife Laura, Andrea J. Rutledge and husband Brad; step-grandchildren, Zachary and Brooke Hamann and Miranda Rutledge; sisters, Carol Thomas, Shirley Barr and husband Dr. Fred Barr; sister-in-law, Lorene Mann; and several nieces and nephews. Duff, Kathleen Lane, age 96, of Lenoir City, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2006. She was a faithful member of Central United Methodist Church until failing health prevented her from attending. Kathleen was a kind and gentle lady who loved all of God’s four-legged animals and tried to take care of as many of them as possible. She was helped with this through the care and love of her husband of 67 years, Bob, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gene Duff. Through the excellent and loving care of her friend and caretaker, Margie Trollinger, Kathleen was able to have several good years in her own home. Call, Ralph Theodore "Ted", age 87, of Farragut, TN, formerly of Chattanooga, TN passed away Monday, January 30, 2006. Ted was born in Chattanooga, TN and graduated from Hixson High School. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Ted retired from Combustion Engineering, Chattanooga, TN. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church for the past 6 years, and was formerly a member of Hixson First Baptist Church for over 70 years. Ted was preceded in death by his son, Ralph T. Call, Jr.; sisters, Bonnie Louise Call and Helen Call Liner. James M. Tackett, age 72 of Farragut, TN, formerly of Waukegan, IL and Palm Desert, CA, went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2006. James was founder and owner of Waukegan Blue Print. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. James was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U S Marines. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Lillian Tackett; wife and mother of his children, Annette Tackett. Survivors: wife of 16 years, Susan Murray Tackett; children, Michael Tackett and wife Judy of Gurnee, IL, Cheryl Tackett of Waukegan, IL, Stephanie Tackett of Evanston, IL; stepson, Stephen Murray and wife Kelley of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Kyle, Tyler and Madison; sister, Rita Case of Gurnee, IL; brothers, Tom Tackett of Lone Pine, CA and Terry Tackett of Kenosha, WI; several nieces and nephews. Davis, Robert Whitaker, Jr., born September 16, 1952, in Cincinnati, OH, passed away January 9, 2006, at age 53. He was a resident of Lenoir City, TN and a member of White Wing Nazarene Church. He was a former probation officer in Dallas, Texas. Robert received an undergraduate degree in theology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX and Garrett Theological Seminary at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Following graduation he worked with Rev. John Tatum at Inner City Food Pantry in Dallas. While his parents were living in Tokyo, Japan, he moved there and taught English to businessmen at a Japanese Corporation. Upon returning from Japan, he worked for the State of Texas as a probation officer and manager in Dallas for fourteen years. After moving to Lenoir City, he worked for the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Retardation Services in Knoxville for two years. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Julie and his father, Robert W. Davis, Sr. He is survived by his children: Carrie, Rachel, Matthew and Henry; mother, Mary Huber Davis of Tellico Village, Loudon; brothers, Jim (Judy) of Naperville, IL and Dan (Joni) of Lake Balboa, CA; nieces, Jenny, Christina, Sarah, Kimberly and Molly; nephews, Jim and Nathan; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Allen, Joe C., age 70, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, January 30, 2006. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Retired Superintendent of the Postal Service in Lenoir City. Joe served in the U. S. Navy and was a T.S.S.A.A. football official. Preceded in death by parents, John C. Allen and Gertrude Allen; sister, Betty Craig Hunt. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy Gray Allen; son, Andy Allen and wife, Susie of Knoxville; granddaughter, Meredith Allen; niece, Cathy Craig; nephews, Joe and John Craig all of Daytona Beach, FL. Mamie Lee Stalcup Newcombe, age 73, of Knoxville, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 31, 2006 at Park West Hospital after a battle with cancer and pneumonia. Mamie was retired from Cracker Barrel Cedar Bluff. She was a kind and gentle lady who loved her family, friends and customers. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Zona Mae Stalcup; granddaughter, Elisha Marie Majors; brothers, J.C. and Franklin Stalcup; sister, Reba Myers. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Lynn Newcombe; daughter and son-in-law, Lenell and J. R. Wilsey; granddaughter, Sarah Ann Murray; sister and brother-in-law, Veanna and Bob Rider of FL; sister and brother-in-law, Elisa and Ray Harrell; devoted sister and brother-in-law, Polly and Reece Maples; sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Stalcup; brother-in-law, G. Edwin Morris (Bill) Mimms, age 73, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Nashville, TN, passed away early Saturday morning, January 6, 2007 at his home. Bill retired from Bellsouth after 39 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Leslie and Sadie Owens Mimms. Bill is survived by wife Bonnie; sons and daughters-in-law, Edwin and Patsy Mimms of Gallatin, TN, Jeff and Rachel Mimms of Nashville, TN ; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Paul Sherrick of Old Hickory, TN; grandchildren, Joel Christopher Mimms, Robert Patrick Mimms, Brittany Elizabeth Mimms and Leslie Samantha Sherrick; brothers and sisters-in-law, Malcolm L. and Paula Mimms of Nashville, TN and Ronnie D. and Paige Mimms of Ashland City, TN; several nieces and nephews. Bill was an avid golfer his entire life. Anne Livingston, age 78, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, January 8, 2007 at Park West Hospital. Anne was a member of the First Church of God, where she served as treasurer for many years and was awarded Mother of Year for 2006. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Livingston; parents Ernest and Febry Johnston and grandson Jerry Holland Jr. She is survived by children and spouses, Brenda Holland of Plainville, GA, Pennie and Bob Cockrel of Knoxville, Ernest and Nancy Livingston of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Amanda Posey and husband, Thomas of Plainville, GA; Marty Vinson and wife Karol of Knoxville, David Vinson and wife Yosmar of Parkside, PA, Trenna Wilger and husband Don of Dallas, GA, Ginger Livingston of Ft. Halbert (Chick) Robinson, age 85, of Knoxville, formerly of Loudon, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 10, 2007 at Loudon Health Care. Halbert was a resident of Manor House Assisted living for the past three years. He was a member of Martel United Methodist Church and Thorngrove Baptist Church. Halbert was retired from Kmart with 30 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U S Navy. Halbert was an avid fisherman and sports fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Heaton Robinson; daughter, Lisa Robinson Brown; parents, John L. Robinson and Oda (Robbie) Long Robinson; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Nadine Robinson; sister, Faye Harrison. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Dana Shubert of Lenoir City; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Mary Anne Robinson of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Myers and husband Eric of Knoxville, and their daughter, Jordan, Chris Shubert of Portland, OR; niece, Dr. Phyllis Gilreath and husband Dr. Jim Gilreath of Myakka, FL. Robert Donald Lepley, age 76, of the Tellico Village Community in Loudon, TN, died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, January 9, 2006. Don was born in Ernest, Pennsylvania to Edward and Mildred Lepley. He graduated from Meadville High School in Pennsylvania and attended Edinboro University. Don was a resident of Salem, OH and the sales manager for Dads Pet Food Products of Meadville, PA for over 30 years. After retiring, he and his wife Betty moved to Tellico Village in 1993. Here he was an active member of Tellico Village Community Church, an avid golfer, world traveler, and loving family man. Don was preceded in death by parents and brother, Eugene Lepley. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty; children: Debi and her husband Allan, Bob and his wife Kim, and Todd; grandchildren: Kyle, Danielle, Lesley, Nicholas, Bonny and Scott; and siblings, Joanne Sloan, Peggy Osborne, and Edward Lepley. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 13th at the Tellico Village Community Church with Reverend Martin Singley officiating. Ghormley, Martha Williams, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Loudon Health Care Center. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by husband, David Ghormley; parents, Claude and Jessie Williams; sister, Mary Claude Bidez and grandson, Ashley Ghormley. Survived by her children, Bill Ghormley and wife, Suzanne, Becky Eaker and husband, David all of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Renee’ Ghormley of Lenoir City, Shannon Eaker and wife, Shawni of Knoxville and Shelby Elizabeth Eaker of Knoxville; great grandson, Noah Alexander Eaker; brother, Tommy F. Williams and wife, Doris of McCaysville, GA; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to present and former staff of River Oaks Place and Loudon Health Care for their wonderful care and support. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Central United Methodist Church. Family and friends will gather at Lakeview Cemetery 1 p.m. Tuesday for graveside services with Rev. Ron Fisher officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Cades Program at Concord United Methodist Church. Glandon, Gerald Elvert, age 57, of Sweetwater, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, January 12, 2007 at Park West Hospital. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Gerald served in Germany with the U. S. Army 1st Cavalry Division where he was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. Preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Sheffield Glandon; father, Elvert Urel Glandon; grandparents, Robert and Sara Glandon, Hubert and Delcie Luttrell. Survived by his sons, Charles (Chuck) Glandon and wife, Becky, Brady Glandon and wife, Darlene, Jason Glandon all of Sweetwater; stepdaughter, Amanda Busbee of Leesville, SC; grandchildren, Kimberly, Jacob, Ragen, Brady, Jr. and Emmie Glandon, Haley and Logan Busbee, Joseph, Minishia and Sidney Shaver; mother and stepfather, Ruth and Jesse Russell of Loudon; brother, Dwayne Glandon of Dayton, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anita Gay and Larry Brown of Philadelphia, Barbara LeeAnn and Gary Mills of Lenoir City; fiancee’, Kathy Harris of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Chadwick and Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Monday in Pine Grove Cemetery for graveside services. Military honors will be conferred by VFW Post 5150 and American Legion Port 120, 70 and 256. Serving as pallbearers: Eli Morgan, Josh Morgan, Garrett Mills, Aaron Glandon, Eric Glandon and Jeff Harris.
