Arnwine, James Michael (Mike), age 50, of Friendsville, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2004. Mike was a beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather and an inspiration to those who knew him. He was God's messenger who touched lives wherever he went with his sweet, kind generous spirit and his great love for the Lord. He served with the United States Air Force and belonged to American Legion Post 70 in Lenoir City. He was a member of Restoration International Outreach Church of Maryville. Mike was a dedicated employee of Pilot Oil Company, who drove for them for 13 years before becoming disabled. He was known by his co-workers and trucker friends as "Blue Tick". He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Floyd and Eva Arnwine; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frances and Sanders Leeper. Mike is survived by his wife and best friend, Kay Leeper Arnwine; mother, Ruby Arnwine and brother Terry Arnwine both of Maynardville; daughters and son-in-law, Shannon and Andrew Ward of Lenoir City and April Davis of Friendsville; his very special grandchildren whom he lived for: Jacob and Kaylee Davis, Drew and Zane Ward; sister-in-law, Sandra Pace and husband, Donald; brother-in-law, Mike Leeper and wife, Wanda; sister-in-law, Sheila Atchley and husband, Howard; sister-in-law, Janet Sitzler and husband, Bill; many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved; Aunt Betty Arnwine of Maynardville and Polly Karnes of Ruskin, FL; Uncle Charlie Arnwine of Corryton, Aunt Judy and Uncle John Cavanaugh of Long Beach, CA; Aunt Phyllis Bihary of Palm Beach, FL; all of his special cousins in TN, FLA and CA. The Arnwine family would like express enormous special thanks to all of our many faithful friends and and family members who are so many, it would be impossible to name. Dr. Antonucci and his wonderful staff; doctors and nurses at NIH in Bethesda, MD; Park West Hospital 4th floor nurses, staff and chaplains; Ron, Tammy and Sandra at Tilley-Lane ; Howard Patel of Econo Lodge; Mike's special friends: Kenny Hawk, Ruth Moore, Doug and Vanessa Shunate, Jim Wilson, Rufus Bivens, Larry Foshee, Steve and Donna Banton, Raymond and Louise Lumpkin, Pastor Ronnie Hepperly, Rev. and Mrs. Gary Bingham, Lenoir City Police and Fire Departments and so many more. Wilson, William Jack, age 73, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2004. He was of the Methodist Faith and a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army. Family and friends will gather at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville for graveside services and interment with full military honors conferred by East Tennessee Honor Guard. Milsaps, Larry Kenneth, age 61, of Greenback passed away May 3, 2004 at the Blount Memorial Hospital. Larry was retired from BellSouth after 25 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during Vietnam. He was a member of the CWA and Telephone Pioneers. He was preceded in death by his father, U.L. Milsaps; sister, Jo Ann Munsey; grandsons, Larry Randall and Randall Lee Milsaps. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Estelle; sons and wives, Chris and Christine Milsaps of Greenback, Andy and Leada Milsaps of Vonore; grandchildren, Ian Rain, Miracle Estelle, Myles Andrew; Mother, Annie Milsaps; sisters, Bette Sue (Clyde) Thomas of Maryville, Deane Bradford of Greenback and Mildred (Geary) Hill of Talbott; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-7:15 p.m. Wednesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City with Funeral Services to follow at 7:30 with Rev. Charles Carpenter officiating. Itson, Terecer (Mrs. J. D.), of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the Farragut Health Care Center. She retired from Highland Park School in 1977 where she worked in the cafeteria. Terecer was a member of the Eastern Star in which she was the Worthy Matron in 1969 and served on many committees. She had been a member of Highland Park Baptist Church since 1949. Preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Itson; daughter, Betty Jean (Itson) Henline and son, Herbert Lee Itson. Survived by sons, Morris Itson and wife, Shirley of Ft. Myers, Fl, Donald Itson and wife, Sue of Asheboro, N.C. and Larry Itson of Memphis; son-in-law, Austin Henline of Asheboro, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Park Baptist Church. Rev. Tony Collins and Rev. Brian Holloway will officiate. Joyner, Wanda L., of Harriman, went to heaven Thursday evening, May 6, 2004 at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center. Wanda was a grandmother. She was very dedicated to the residents that she cared for in the nursing home. Wanda was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Lonnie Newton and Johnny Lee Newton; mother, Penie Warnick. Survivors: husband, Poppy Joyner; daughter, Cherokee; grandchildren, Angel, Johnny, Cherie, Robert, Alyshia and Charity; great grandchildren, Tori, Cheyenne, Alexis, Andalynn, Andrianna, Shane and Cole. DuBois, William J. (Bill) Jr., age 61, of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, May 7, 2004. Bill was retired from Ameritech after 34 years service. He was veteran of the U. S. Army. Preceded in death by parents, William J. DuBois Sr. and Virginia DuBois. Survived by his wife of 8 years, Liz Goslee Torres DuBois; son, Jay DuBois of Lakeland, FL; step-daughter, Allie Johnson; step-son, Anthony Torres both of Columbus, OH; sisters, Barbara DuBois, Niota, TN, Sheila Smith and Pamela DuBois both of Holly Hill, FL; nephew, Tony and niece, Bonnie. She was a member of the Sixth Avenue Church of God, a compassionate church member and friend. Devoted to her grandchildren, loved animals and was a avid bowler, winning many awards. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Chatt and parents Ralph and Edna Bean. Wehrman, Mary Elizabeth, age 94, of Kingston, passed away Saturday May 8, 2004 at her home. She was a member of the Bradbury United Methodist Church and a former teacher in the Roane County Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dietrich Willhelm Wehrman. Survived by her daughter, Mary Ruth Wehrman and husband John Robert Finch of Colorado; Nephew, Scott Smith Loudon County. Bayne, William C. (Bill), age 83, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday Morning May 9, 2004 at the Farragut Health Care Center. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church served in the Army Air Corps in WW II and a long time newspaper worker at the Montgomery Ala. Advertiser, Chattanooga TN Free-Press, Anderson, S.C. Independent, Anderson, S.C. Daily Mail and was the Editor and Publisher of the Lenoir City News from 1950-1961. Bill was a graduate of Lenoir City High School and attended the University of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by wife, Martha McBrayer Bayne; parents, William and Hattie Bayne. He is survived by children, Harry Bayne of Mt. Vernon, Ga., William (Bill) Bayne of Memphis and Mary Lou Rosenberg of Temple, Ga, John Bayne of Los Angeles; 2 grandsons, William Bayne of Austin, Tx. and Robert Bayne of Memphis. Hall, Lillian Lawhorn, age 84, of Concord, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2004, at Shannondale Nursing Home. She was a member of Del Ray Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA and a graduate of the University of Tennessee. Lillian was retired as a Computer Analyst for Union Carbide and the Department of Defense. Preceded in death by her husband, George Hall; parents, Oscar and Cora Ann Lawhorn; brother, Samuel Lawhorn; sisters, Jessie Lawhorn and Irene Hatley; step-mother, Dora Prater Lawhorn; step-brother, Joe Prater. Survivors include: brother, Howard Lawhorn and wife, Betty of Knoxville; sisters, Nell McKelvey of Concord, Karen Sisk and husband, Jerry of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Neta Lawhorn of Knoxville; step-brothers: Tom, Gary, Robert and Eugene Prater; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Tellico Village Community Church where she was active in the choir and bell choir. Dottie was an active volunteer for local schools. She was an avid golfer and past president of the Tellico Village Ladies 9 Hole Golf League. Preceded in death by parents, Ferdinand and Helen Krichbaum. Survived by husband of 51 years, Herbert Phillips; children, Kenneth Phillips of Cleveland, OH, Matthew Phillips and wife, Mary of Louisville, KY, Michael Phillips and wife, Mary Alice of Londonderry, NH; grandson, Connor. Starrett, David E., age 79, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN, formerly of Northbrook and Chicago IL, passed away suddenly May 15,2004. David graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Northwestern University and received his MBA from the University of Chicago. He served as a B-17 Pilot during World War II with the 8th Air Force. David retired from R.R. Donelley and Sons after 40 years of service. After his retirement, he worked with the United Way. David and his wife, Alice moved to the Tellico Village Community where he became a member of Tellico Village Community Church and an avid golfer. He traveled extensively and loved to spend time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Alice Moe Starrett; daughters, Christine Seno (Louis) of Rochester Hills, MI and Carol Pelino (Dan) of Hinsdale, IL; granddaughters: Stephanie, Katheryn and Megan. Nash, William C. (Bill), age 75, of Tellico Village Community, Loudon, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Park West Medical Center. He was a member of Tellico Village Community Church. Founder and former owner of Contractors Machinery Inc. of Maryville. Bill was a member of Duck's Unlimited. A member of Loudon Masonic Lodge #204. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia (Ginny) Nash; children, Suzette Nash and husband, David Quimby of Fort Pierce, FL, Debra Cahill and husband, James of Pasadena, CA, Lori Gower and husband, Jeffrey of Littleton, CO and William (Billy) Nash and wife, Bonna of Knoxville; grandchildren, Christopher Gower, Alexander Cahill, Carly Nash, Marissa Gower, Nicholas Cahill, and Hunter Nash; brother, Robert C. Monroe, Buddy Paul, age 74, of Knoxville, formerly of Oklahoma and California, passed away Wednesday evening, May 19, 2004 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Paul was a graduate of Oklahoma City University. He was an avid musician. Paul was a veteran of the U S Army serving with the military police. Survivors: daughters, Debbie Monroe and Mary Monroe both of Knoxville; grandchildren, Westley, Zachary and Logan; beloved sister, Thelma Chattin; nephew, Donald Rogers; former wife and mother of his children, Margaret Monroe. Graveside services 1: 30 p.m. Friday May 28, 2004 at the Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery with full military honors.
