Billingsley, Elizabeth Florence born November 21, 1915, departed this life Wednesday afternoon September 28, 2005 at Brakebill Nursing Home. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel M. Billingsley; parents, James and Jennie Blair; brothers, John R., George, Fred and Edgar Blair; sisters, Ruth Winton and Virginia Prigmore. Survivors: son, Samuel M. Billingsley Jr. of Concord; daughter-in-law, Mary R. Billingsley of Concord; grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith and husband William, Angela Booker and husband Percell Jr. all of Knoxville, Samuel Martin Billingsley III of Morrow, GA, Sandra Kay and Tammy Renee Billingsley both of Knoxville; 12 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; brother, James Mitchell Blair of CA; sister, Mary Frances Tyler of NY; she loved her nieces and nephews to include several cousins and sisters-in-law. Smart, Freddy K., age 52, of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, September 30, 2005. Freddy was a member of First Baptist Church in Knoxville. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Smart; stepson, Robert Smith ; stepdaughters, Sabrina, T. K., Tiffany and Shelby Smith all of Lenoir City; step-grandson, Damien Smith of Lenoir City. Peterson, James Christian (Jimmy), age 38 of Knoxville, born February 15, 1967 went to be with Jesus on September 29, 2005. Jimmy was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. He was an employee of UPS. He was a hero to all and a friend to everyone. Jimmy was active in the community and Cedar Bluff Schools and Karns High School. Jimmy was an avid bicyclist, photographer, and loved helping others with their car detailing. He was preceded in death by his father, George C. Peterson. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 16 years, Tammy Peterson; daughters, Amanda and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Peterson; mother, Joan Peterson; brothers, Jonathan and wife Lori, all of Knoxville; David Peterson and wife Susan of OH; several nieces and nephews. Lane, Joe Jr., age 93, of Loudon, TN, passed away Friday, September 30, 2005 at Loudon Health Care Center. He retired from Southern Railroad Lenoir City Car Works after 30 years service. Joe was a member of Loudon United Methodist Church. He was a fox hunter in his younger years which he enjoyed very much. He was preceded in death by father and mother, Joe Lane, Sr. and Mattie Monger Lane; sister Ruth Lane Turner and husband, Herb; half-sister Rexa Lee Lane; first wife, Evelyn Babb Lane; second wife, Mattie Mae Houston Lane; grandson, Randy Lane and daughter-in-law, Joyce Clifton Lane. Survived by his son, James B. Elsie was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Folklore Museum in Farragut. Elise was a wonderful wife, aunt and was loved by her many nieces and nephews. Billy Robert Babb, age 49, of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Friday, September 1, 2006 at his home. He was a member of Paw Paw Plains Baptist Church. Billy was a veteran of the U. S. Army and an employee of Wamplers Farm Sausage. Preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Hattie Babb. Roy C. Ball Sr., age 95, of the Loudon Healthcare Center, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the Ft. Loudoun Medical Center. Roy was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. And Mrs. Ronald G. (Bonnie) Courtney of Lenoir City; son and daughter-in-law, Mr. And Mrs. Roy C. (Darlene) Ball Jr.; two sisters, R.M. Ball of Corbin, KY, Earsel Cupp of Hattiesburg, MS; brother, Franklin Ball of Louisville, KY; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Beulah (Bea) Krepps, age 87, of Farragut, TN, formerly of Santa Ana, CA, went to her heavenly home to be with her husband, Don Krepps; parents, George and Sadie Burke; sisters, Katherine Dutton, Virginia Russie and Sally Rule; brother, Roy Burke, early Saturday morning, September 2, 2006. Beulah was retired from McDonnell Douglas Aerospace. She was a member of the Grand Avenue Methodist Church in Santa Ana. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and daughter. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Kathy Krepps of Overland Park KS and one other son; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Fred Hall of Farragut, TN; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; special friends, Cathy Kressin and Olvetta Mojica. Grace Huffine Scarbrough, passed away Friday, September 1, 2006 at the Parkwest Medical Center after a long illness. Grace was born in Roane County in the New Midway Community, on Nov. 21, 1919, the second daughter of the late James Preston Huffine and Nancy Driscoll Huffine. She was the widow of the late Melford R. Scarbrough. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Kate Pickell, and brother-in-law, Earl Pickell. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Scarbrough Levy (Mark), of Rensselaer, NY, Linda Scarbrough McKinley (James), of Knoxville, and a son, David Edward Scarbrough (Lynn), of Milan, TN. Her grandchildren are Shane Scarbrough of Lenoir City, Wendy Levy Boyd (Bob), of New York City, Amy Victoria Levy, also of New York City, James Ira McKinley III of Philadelphia, TN, Rachel Scarbrough Cantrell (Mike), of Albertville, AL, Jonathan Scarbrough McKinley (Tracy), of Franklin, TN, step-grandson, David Lester, of Atlanta, GA and great grandson, Parker Martin Moore of Albertville, AL. A member of the First Baptist Church of Lenoir City for sixty-six years, she was active in the Sunday School and related activities, including preparation of food for families of the deceased, and also belonged to the Missionary Circle. She faithfully attended every service throughout her active life. Grace was a longstanding member of the Lenoir City Garden Club, having been president of the club during 1983-84 and 1989-90. Lenoir City Beautification was one of the goals of the club, and she participated in many such projects. She was also a member, and held various offices, in the Clionian Club, and the Home Demonstration Club. She resided in the Scarbrough family home in the historic district of Lenoir City, at 301 Kingston Street, until February Of 2002, when she moved to an assisted living facility near her daughter in Knoxville. She often helped care for her neighbors in a variety of ways. Graces life reflected her love for her family and friends. She truly epitomized the values of her faith. The family will receive friends who wish to join in the mourning of her loss on Sunday, September 3, from 2-4 p.m. at Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City. Victoria Myers Thomas PhD, of Knoxville went to be with the Lord early Friday morning, September 1, 2006. Victoria was a member and Prayer Elder of Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was also a member of the choir. Her love of people extended through her profession as Director of Human Resources at a local firm. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Tennessee and completed her PhD at American University in Albuquerque, NM. Victoria was a wonderful wife, mother, Nana, sister and an avid Vol fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Hazel Myers. Joseph (Joe) Palladino, age 94, of East Boston, MA, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2006 in Knoxville, TN. Joe was former Commodore of Orient Heights Yacht Club in East Boston. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Pauline Velardo Palladino. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Joseph R. and Wanda W. Palladino; grandsons, Joseph K. Palladino, Leonard Palladino and wife, Leslie; great grandchildren, Audrey and Julia Palladino; several brothers, a sister and several nieces and nephews. A Private Mass will be held Saturday at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Tony Dickerson celebrant. Preceded in death by husband, Cecil Jenkins; son, David Paul Jenkins; granddaughter, Vickie Lynn Tanner; parents, Ernest and Edna Simpson and sister, Nina Mae Ridge. Survived by sister, Frances Cole of Lake City, FL; niece, Glenda Pennington and husband C. W. of Lake City, FL; close friend and care giver, Mary Parker of Loudon. A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Georgia DeVault Myers; brothers, Charlie Myers, Dave Myers, Kenneth Myers, Jake Myers and Clarence Myers, infant brother, Sam Ruben Myers; sisters, Mattie Fugate, Helen Skelton and Edith Dollard all of Kingsport, TN. Duncan, Rev. Vernon, age 73, of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, September 8, 2006. He was a member of Wrights Ferry Baptist Church in Knoxville and a retired carpenter. Vernon pastored Old Time Gospel Baptist Church in Knoxville from 1973 to 1975. He was preceded in death by parents, E. J. and Ethel Duncan; brothers, Edward, Elmer and Clarence; sisters, Ruby, Mildred and Thelma. Preceded in death by son, Ray Neal; husband, Gurdine Daniel; parents, Charlie and Mamie Hickey; brother, Jack Hickey, father of her children Ray Neal, and niece Brenda Hickey Archer. William (Bill) Dooley Goodwin, age 84, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, September 11, 2006. Bill was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for over 60 years. He retired from Lenoir Car Works, and was an avid woodworker and craftsman. Bill was preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Thaisa Goodwin; sisters Elsie Rhea Green, Iva Fine, Mary Garrett and Ruby Lee Bennett. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jerry Allison Goodwin; children, Nancy Goodwin of Knoxville, Billie Gammell and husband, William of Olive Branch, MS, Terry Goodwin and wife, Susan of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Jennifer and Ashton Roberts of Johnson City, Kala Goodwin and Brent Goodwin of Lenoir City; brother, Roy Goodwin and wife, Midge; sisters, Ava Arp and husband, Kermit, Betty Dunlap all of Lenoir City, Samye Sims of Knoxville; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday with funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lowell Ramsey, Mr. Dick Williams and Rev. Glenn Gamble officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services with Rev. Dick DeMerchant officiating. Pallbearers: Howard Morrison, Joe Morrison, Lynn Goodwin, Sammy Dunlap, Doug Dunlap and Benny Allison. Honorary pallbearers: J.C. Shinpaugh, Jim Howard, Clarence Williams, Ted Wampler, B. Brackett and Boyd Goodwin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is serving the family of William (Bill) Dooley Goodwin.
