Moore, Ella H., age 95, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2000 in Greensboro. Mrs. Moore was born December 22, 1904 in Red Level, Al. to William and Ara Franklin Hitson. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. Mrs. Moore was a member of the Eastern Star in N. August, Ga. She is survived by her daughter, Betty M. Lay and husband, Joseph of Greensboro, N.C.; son, Clifford H. Moore Jr. and wife, Jackie of Lenoir City; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Green, Floyd, age 74, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday evening, April 13, 2000 in Corinth, Miss. Floyd was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Navy. Employed by Corinthian Arbors Retirement Facility. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry Alonzo Green and Genora Lively Green. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Edna Brummitt Green of Corinth, Miss.; daughters, Brenda Lankford of Corinth, Miss., Cheryl Newcomb of San Diego, Ca.; sons, Mark Green and Floyd Jerome Green of Lenoir City; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Ada Brummitt and Viola Stout of Lenoir City; brothers, Mose Green of Johnson City and Roy Green of Athens; several nieces and nephews. Raby, Jesse Dewey (J.D.), age 80, of West Knoxville and Loudon, passed away Sunday afternoon April 16, 2000 at Loudon Hospital. J. D. was a member of Lake View Baptist Church. A veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Newcomb Raby, parents, Jesse F. Raby and Mabel Letsinger Raby. brothers, Franklin, Glenn and Charles Raby., sister, Frances Cornett. Survivors: wife, Nellie Jean Raby. Sons, Boyd Raby of Knoxville and Claude Raby of Loudon. Drake, Ralph P. Jr., age 80, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday evening April 17, 2000 at Loudon Hospital. Ralph was a member of New Vision Praise and Worship Center and was Sunday School Superintendent for 26 years. He was retired from Union Carbide K-25 in Oak Ridge. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Heatherly Drake, who was the mother of his children and Emma Lou Jenkins Drake. Brothers, Howard, Fred and Bill Drake. Sister, Pauline Drake Brooks. Retired from The Goss Corp. in Illinois. Preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Mae Rosson; daughter, Carrie Norring Howard; sister, Eva. Leeper, Sanders, age 75, of 205 Pike Street, Lenoir City, passed away Saturday afternoon April 22, 2000 at Park West Hospital. Sanders was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. He was a charter member of American Legion Post 70, V.F.W. Post 120, the Highland Park Ruritan Club and the Loudon County Rescue Squad, Campers Club, and also a member of the I. B. E. W. Sanders was a veteran of World War II serving with the Army in the Third Armored Division. He loved and played music, and had many musical friends. Sanders was one of the founders of the Lenoir City Little League Baseball. He was retired from L.C.U.B. as Chief Water Plant Operator with 35 years of service. Sanders was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Leeper, parents John Leeper and Gladys Moody Leeper, brother Wayne Leeper. Survivors: Mother, Florence Leeper of Lenoir City. Bryant, Oscar Allen Sr. (Al), age 86, of Lenoir City, passed away early Wednesday morning April 26, 2000 at his home. Al was a member of the Lenoir City Primitive Baptist Church. He was owner and operator of the A&W and AL’S Drive-in for many years. Al was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gertie Talton Bryant. Brother, Arthur Bryant. McPherson, Mark Andrew, age 47, of Farragut, passed away Thursday morning, April 27, 2000, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mark was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. He was a former employee of Clayton Homes. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War. Mark was preceded in death by his father Andrew Parrish McPherson. He is survived by his wife, Luanne and his children Sarah, Christine, Elizabeth, and Andrew all still at home, his mother, Dell Bothwell of Sun City, California, brother, Matthew McPherson of Texas, brothers Mitchell McPherson and Morgan McPherson both of California, mother-in-law Dorothy Forester of Farragut. Crawford, Rowan Francis, age 77, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, Tennessee, passed away Thursday morning April 27, 2000 at U.T. Medical Center. Rowan was a member of First Farragut United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and also taught Disciple Bible Study. He was retired from ARMCO Inc. in Middletown, Ohio. Rowan was a graduate of Penn State University, with a degree in English, and lettered in 5 sports. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Marines and later transferring to the Navy flight program. Rowan was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Frances Elizabeth Sutter Gordon and Frank Gordon, and his father, Rowan Forsythe Crawford. Brothers, Donald and Douglas Crawford. Survivors: Wife of 30 years, Sandra Crawford. Greer, Walter Thurman, loving husband and father, age 72, of Knoxville, formerly of McMinnville, Tennessee died Friday morning, April 28, peacefully at his home. He was of the Methodist faith. Walter was a graduate of Tennessee Tech in Cookeville. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy at Pearl Harbor. Walter was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and Mid State Tire Distributors. He was preceded in death by his father, Jones Greer, his mother Othala Kell, and brother Aubrey. He is survived by his wife, Frances Wallace Greer, son and daughter-in-law, Guy and Sharon Greer of Loudon, daughters, Marianne Akers and Tracy Greer both of Knoxville, granddaughter Madison Akers, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Leeper, Florence, age 81, of Lenoir City, went to be with the Lord Saturday at the Parkwest Medical Center. She was member of the Corinth Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the Charles H. Bacon Company and was retired from Yale and Town. Florence was very devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lydia Gentry; Husband, John Leeper; Sons, Ronnie and Sanders Leeper; four brothers and three sisters. Florence is survived by her daughters: Phyllis Bihary of West Palm Beach, Florida and Judy and husband John Cavanaugh of Long Beach, California. Marion, Goldie M., age 80, of West Knoxville, passed away early Sunday morning April 30, 2000 at Park West Hospital. Goldie was a member of Virtue Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Smokey Mountain Model A Club, and was a commited and dedicated, worker for the Camp Chilhowee Church Camp. Goldie was an employee of Concord Cleaners and Farragut High School for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rozella and George Bare. Sharp, Jerry Lynn, age 61, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Sunday morning April 1, 2001 in an automobile accident while on his way to church. Jerry was a member of Everett Road Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Jerry was an avid sportsman and played football at Texas Tech. He was preceded in death by parents, Roy Sharp and Edith Turner Sharp Cole. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Rory and Debra Sharp, Roman and Sarah Sharp; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Mark Napier all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Rowan Sharp, Heather Sharp, Kate Greene, Lauren Sharp, Nicholas Napier, Beth Hamilton, Cory Anderson and Becka Myers. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m. Tuesday followed by funeral services at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Dr. Jerry Taylor officiating. Mashburn, William A. (Bill), age 88, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday evening, April 1, 2001 at his home. He was of the Baptist Faith. Bill was a lifelong farmer. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Hall Smith and Johnnie Lee Young Smith Fabricius. Survivors: wife, Jean Walton Smith; son, Brandon Smith; daughter, Lindsey Smith; step son, Justin Walton Rich all of Knoxville; sisters, Patsy Frizzell of Dunlap, Peggy Womac of Evergreen, Colorado, Deane Smith and Sharon Cordell, both of Dunlap; brothers, Donnie Smith of Romeo, Michigan and Curtis Smith of Dunlap; several nieces and nephews.
