William Robert Baugh

William Robert (Billy Bob) Baugh, of Graysville, died Friday, April 16, 1999, at Rhea Medical Center. He was 34.
Mr. Baugh was employed by Price Brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Francis Baugh of Graysville; step-daughters, Rachel and Erica Scott of Graysville; sons, Zachery and Joshua Baugh of Graysville; step-son, Steve Scott of Graysville; parents, Billy and Suzanne Baugh of Estill Fort, Ala.; sister, Virginia Sue Stone of Estill Fort, Ala.; brother, James Scott of Scottsboro, Ala.; great-grandmother, Elizabeth Baugh of Chattanooga; maternal grandmother, Sue Morrow of Chattanooga; one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 19, in the chapel of Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Cochran officiating. Burial was in Lakewood Memory Gardens East in Chattanooga. Williamson and Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy was in charge of the arrangements.
Bertha Corvin White
Died: 04/13/1999
Bertha (Burt) Corvin White, of Graysville, died Monday, April 12, 1999, at Rhea Medical Center. She was 69.
Mrs. White was a lifelong resident of Rhea County. She retired from Graysville Elementary School after many years of employment.
Survivors include her husband, Luther White of Graysville; two sons, Ricky and Danny Everett, both of Graysville; sister, Naomi Miller of Graysville; two brothers, Darius McQuiston of Graysville and Tommy McQuiston of Sale Creek; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 14, in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Burial was in Spivey Cemetery in Dayton. Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton was in charge of the arrangements.
Fred Howard Webb
Died: 04/13/1999
Fred Howard Webb, of Evensville, died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, in a local nursing home. He was 97.
Mr. Webb was a lifelong resident of Rhea County. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Faye Webb of Evensville; two daughters, Bess Bordeau of Baltimore, Md., and Dorothy Haun of Cleveland; two sons, Dennis and Marvin Webb, both of Evensville; brother, John Webb of Evensville; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 15, in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Bewly officiating. Burial was in Webb Cemetery in Evensville. Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton was in charge of the arrangements.
Annie Mae Reed

Annie Mae Reed, of Spring City, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga. She was 79.
A lifelong resident of Spring City, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Florence Cox Godsey. Mrs. Reed was of the Baptist faith and worked many years in local restaurants. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rainey B. Reed Sr.; and daughter, Jacqueline (Angeline) Baker.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Cox of Dayton and Lucille Hollingsworth of Calhoun, Ga.; two sons, William Reed of Spring City and Rainey B. Reed Jr. of Moultrie, Ga.; sister, Pearl Reed White of Grandview; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 17, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Zimmerman officiating. Burial was in Spring City Memorial Gardens. Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City was in charge of the arrangements.
Joyce A. Marshall

Joyce A. Marshall, of Louisville, Ky., died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. She was 63.
Mrs. Marshall was born in Spring City to the late Hugh and Nina Wright. She was a member of Church of Christ in Louisville and of Jefferson County Woman’s Medical Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. James A. Marshall Jr. of Louisville; sons, Stephen W., John K. and James A. Marshall III, all of Louisville; daughters, Susan M. Peden, Janet M. Flinn and Linda M. Bock, all of Louisville.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 11, at Highlands Funeral Home in Louisville. Burial was in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville. Donations may be sent to the American Heart Association in Louisville. Highlands Funeral Home in Louisville was in charge of the arrangements.
Melba C. Moore

Melba C. Moore, of Cleveland, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, in Cleveland. She was 71.
A native of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Moore was a former resident of Spring City and Athens, Tenn. She was a homemaker by trade and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Moore, and parents, Robert and Ida Mincey Bollen.
Survivors include her son, Johnny Michael Moore of Cleveland; daughters, Barbara Martin of Athens, Linda Lunsford of Englewood, Tenn., and Tammy Miller of Cleveland; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 11, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Jordan officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery in Spring City. Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City was in charge of the arrangements.
Hazel Reed Hall

Hazel Reed Hall, of Chattanooga, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 94.
Mrs. Reed was a native of Dayton, living in Chattanooga for the past 60 years. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and the Friendship Bible Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hall; one son, Lee G. Hall; one sister, Mrs. Essie Dillard; and three brothers, Lee, Jack and Manuel Reed.
Survivors include her three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Rector of Red Bank, Mrs. Cleo Burk of Dayton and Mrs. Mettie Buckles of Chattanooga; two grandchildren, Mrs. Linda Shelton and Mrs. Sandy Martino, both of Chattanooga; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday, May 10, in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Rev. Champs Agan officiating. Interment followed at French Cemetery in Dayton. Memorial contributions may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church, 2007 E. 27th St., Chattanooga, Tenn., 37407. Lane Funeral Home in Chattanooga was in charge of the arrangements.
Lois Virginia Broyles

Lois Virginia Broyles, of Spring City, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Ft. Sanders Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville.
A native of Mississippi, Mrs. Broyles resided in Spring City for over 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Otis and Arpie Holloway Haney, a homemaker and a charter member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Spring City. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Lawson.
Survivors include her husband, Roy F. Broyles of Spring City; son, Terry Broyles of Spring City; brother, Arthur Haney of Grandview; sister, Ivy Goodman of Spring City; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 1, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. David Jordan and Rev. Claude Pendergrass officiating. Burial was in Spring City Cemetery. Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City was in charge of the arrangements.
Pearl E. Lemons

Pearl E. Lemons, of Grandview, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at a local nursing home. She was 72.
A lifelong resident of Rhea County, Ms. Lemons was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Grandview. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Rosie Daniels Lemons.
Survivors include several cousins.
Graveside services were conducted Saturday, May 1, with Rev. Stephen Zimmerman officiating. Burial was in Mt. Sulfur Cemetery in Grandview. Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton was in charge of the arrangements.
Alice J. Clawson

Alice J. Clawson, of Spring City, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at Rhea Medical Center. She was 42.
Born in Texas, Mrs. Clawson was a graduate of Roane County High School and a member of Victory Baptist Church in Spring City.
Survivors include her husband, Ulyess Clawson, of Spring City; parents, James F. and Wilma Brackett Hill of Spring City; daughters, Margaret Cluck and Teresa Diane Townsend, both of Spring City; brothers, Frank and Jerry Hill, both of Spring City, James Hill of Rockwood and Roger Hill of Battle Creek, Mich.; one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, May 4, at Long Cemetery with Rev. Allen Godsey officiating. Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City was in charge of the arrangements.
Lans Crawley

Lans Crawley, of Graysville, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at a Chattanooga hospital. He was 92.
A lifelong resident of Rhea County, Mr. Crawley was a retired self-employed truck driver. He was also a member of Graysville United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orsen Riley and Mary Ellen Shipley Crawley, four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Viva Welch Crawley of Graysville; one daughter, Jo Nelda Patton of Graysville; one grandson, Craig Patton of Graysville; one granddaughter, Marla Messimer of Evensville; two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Bailee Messimer, both of Evensville; one great-grandson, Lans Patton of Graysville; one brother, O.R. Crawley of Dayton; one sister, Blanche Layne of Soddy Daisy; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted today, May 5, in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. John Neese and Rev. Jim Hillian officiating. Interment will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens. Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton is in charge of arrangements.
