David Earl Hughes
David Earl Hughes, 48, of Chattanooga, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26 at Memorial Baptist Tabernacle, Rossville, Ga., with Rev. Herschel Woodburn, Rev. Doug Hawkins, Sammy George, and Bill Poindexter officiating.
Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
Visitation will be from 12-8 p.m. Wednesday (today) at Heritage Funeral Home, 3239 Battlefield Parkway, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.
Mr. Hughes was born in Peoria, Ill. He had lived in Chattanooga for the last 30 years.
He was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church in Nashville.
He was a well-known radio personality in Chattanooga for 30 years, having worked for US101 for 13 years.
During his career with US101, David Earl was instrumental in US101 winning the CMA Award for radio eight years.
In 1994 and 1999, he received CMA Radio Personality of the Year Award.
He was an avid supporter of St. Judeís Childrenís Research Hospital and helped US101 raise millions of dollars for the children of St. Judeís.
Mr. Hughes was always active for Christmas for Kids in helping give gifts for under-priviledged children.
He was an honorary member of the Catoosa County Fire Department.
He is preceded in death by his father, Sidney D. Hughes.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Hughes; sons, Steven David Hughes and Michael Cody Hughes, both of Chattanooga; step-daughters, Heather Nicole Lee and Hannah Elizabeth Lee, both of Chattanooga; mother and step-father, Mary and Ed Nicholson of Springfield; grandson, Michael Isaac Hughes of Chattanooga; sisters, Mary Louise Green of Nashville, Suzanne Hughes Baker of Dickson; a brother, James Michael Hughes of Nashville; six nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Danny Shirley, Mike Gard, Ronald Roach, Tim Lewis, Anthony Hudgins, Zak Evans, Cody McCarver, Ronnie Palmer and Stanley Matthews. Honorary pallbearers will be The Board Members.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Judeís Children Research Hospital. Condolences may be made at www.heritagefh.com.
Heritage Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.

Ella Louise Brown
Ella Louise Brown, 85, of Cedar Hill, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at her home.
Graveside services will be conducted today, Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 3 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Bob Carroll officiating.
Ms. Brown was born Aug. 28, 1918, in Robertson County to the late Roland and Katie Clayborn Brown.
She was retired from the housekeeping department of Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan.
Survivors include her sister, Sue Mantlo of Cedar Hill; a nephew, Jessie Walker; nieces, Beverly Arms, Juanita Draughon, Lula Mae Dotson, Dorothy Rawls, Patricia Reynolds, Elizabeth Mantlo, Rita Kirby, Toni Caudill, and Katie Mae Braddom.
Robertson County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Walter Leroy Fulton
Walter Leroy Fulton, 84, of the Lamont Community in Springfield, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. at Milldale Chapel with Rev. Bill McCabe and Pastor Roger Spivey officiating.
Interment will follow in Williams Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday (today) from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Mr. Fulton was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Robertson County to the late Walter Calvin and Etta Jewel Wooden Fulton.
He owned and operated Fulton Farms.
He was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church and the Orlinda Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Louise Eden Fulton of Springfield; sons, Frankie and Joan Fulton of Marietta, Ga., Walt and Kathy Fulton of Springfield, and David and Vanessa Fulton of Springfield; a daughter, Betty Fulton and Larry Hooper of Smyrna; a sister, Laura Shoulders of Ridgetop; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Milldale Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Leonard Wierzbowski
Senior Master Sgt. Leonard Wierzbowski, 48, of Clarksville, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Memorial services were conducted Sunday, Aug. 8 in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor James Bradley officiating.
Mr. Wierzbowski was born June 20, 1956, in Chicago, Ill., to Raymond Wierzbowski of Nashville, and the late Phyllis Ferriegel Wierzbowski.
He was a computer programmer with Indus and was retired from the United States Air Force.
In addition to his father, he is survived by daughters, Rachel (Adam) Taylor of Greenbrier, and Robin (B.J.) Sons of Hendersonville; step-son, Aaron Moody of Clarksville; grandson, Brier Taylor of Greenbrier; brother, Lawrence Wierzbowski of Philadelphia, Pa.; a sister, Cindi Sondecerff of Austin, Texas.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Billy Michael Lindsey
Billy Michael Lindsey, 54, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Aug. 6 in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Faye Curtis officiating.
Burial followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Lindsey was born Dec. 7, 1949, in Madison County, to Billy G. and Dorothy Sadler Lindsey of Springfield.
He was a Baptist and had worked at Delight Products.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Alice Brenda Lindsey of Greenbrier; a son, Jason Michael Lindsey of Springfield; a daughter, Sabrina Draughon of Greenbrier; brothers, Mitchell Edward Lindsey and Mark Anthony Lindsey, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Brandon and Christian Shea Draughon of Greenbrier.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Alberta Appleton
Alberta Appleton, 79, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at the home of her daughter.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug 7 at 1 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Kirby officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Appleton was born July 20, 1925, in Logan County, Ky., to the late Harvey and Ethel Alma Ramsey Braswell Sr.
She was retired from Vernonís Restaurant and was a Pentecostal.
Mrs. Appleton was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Carolyn Appleton.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Appleton of Springfield; sons, Jackie Lee Appleton of Greenbrier and Randy Wayne Appleton of Springfield; daughters, Doris Jean Harper of Adams, Paulette Moulton, Susan Diane Frye, and Melaine Dawn Appleton, all of Springfield; sisters, Lula Smith and Addie Ruth Fulps, both of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren.
