Jerry Ray Cook
Jerry Ray Cook, 67, died Aug. 17, 2003, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Ind.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services were held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home in Indiana with Rev. Nasman officiating.
He was born July 22, 1936, in Springfield to Vesty B. and Dorothy M. Carver Cook.
He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and eating fish at Fredís House.
He was a member of the Eagles #291 of Terre Haute.
He was retired from Federal Bureau of Prisons after 25 years of service at Terre Haute.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Fred W. Cook; and a son, Mark Allen Cook.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Stark Cook, his wife of 31 years; a son, Jeff Cook and fiancť, Amy Parker of Apex, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Larry Willoughby of Douglasville, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Cook and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert K. and Jean Cook of Wichita Falls, Texas; two grandchildren, Michelle Cook of Carbondale, Ill., and Tiffany Cook, Champaign, Ill.; a wonderful ex-daughter-in-law, Joan Forados Cook of Champaign, Ill.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; two special buddies, Snoopy and Lucky, his dogs.

William Earl Milam
William Earl Milam, 81, of Springfield died at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, following a brief illness.
Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 6 (today) at South Haven Baptist Church at 12:30 p.m. with Bro. Faye Curtis officiating.
Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens.
He was born at Epley Station in Logan County, Ky., to the late Elisha and Lawsie Lawson Milam on Sept. 30, 1921.
Mr. Milam was a retired vehicle maintenance supervisor with Greyline Tours and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Milam attended the South Haven Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Cooper Milam; brother, James Milam; two daughters and son-in law, Brenda and Ralph Rowe, and Nancy Kay Milam both of Springfield; sister-in-law, Alice Cooper of Springfield.
Pallbearers for Mr. Milamís services will be Donald Hawks Gaines Eggers, Arthur Yarborough, Mickey Austin, Tom Fox, Jason Royalty, and Ralph Rowe.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mildred Louise Gupton
Mildred Louise Gupton, 65, died on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at Summit Medical Center.
Services in remembrance of our loving mother will be held on Thursday, Aug. 7, at 1 p.m. at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Bro. John Poston officiating.
Interment followed in the Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Gupton was retired from Loose Leaf, Inc. as a bookbinder.
She was born on Dec. 31, 1937, in Elkton, Ky., to the late James Harold Spurlin and to Ina Belcher Spurlin who survives her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Gupton; brother, James Spurlin.
Mrs. Gupton is survived by three sons, Tony Welsey (Laura) Boyd of La Vergne, David Lynn Boyd of Mt. Juliet, Allen Davis Boyd of Mt. Juliet; two sisters, Jane Taylor of Smyrna, Joyce Bruster of Madison; five grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Don Eatherly
Don Eatherly, 64, of White House, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at Skyline Medical Center.
Remains were at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House where services were conducted Monday, Aug. 4 at 2:30 p.m. by Rev, Larry Treadway.
Interment followed in White House Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Wayne Latimer, Roger Hicks, Edwin McDuffee, Scott Speight, Danny Odom, Dan Zackery.
Mr. Eatherly retired after 43 years with H.G. Hills Company.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Clark Eatherly; sons, Tony (Kimmie) Eatherly, and Wayne Latimer; grandson, Brian Eatherly, brother, Frank Eatherly; niece, Cindy Hicks; nephew, Jerry Eatherly.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House was in charge of arrangements.

Charles A. Brent
Charles A. Brent, 83, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at Vanco Manor.
Remains were at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House.
Services were Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House by Rev. Gary Smith, Rev. Neil Glass, Rev. I.V. Pennington.
Interment followed at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Brent was retired after 30 years in the U.S. Navy having served in WWII, Korean and Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Frances C. Brent of Millersville; daughter, Juanita (Gene) Warn of Coral Springs, Fla.; step-daughter, Rebecca Sanders of Cottontown; step-sons, William Mark Gibba of Nashville, Timothy David Gibbs of Goodlettsville; two granddaughters; four step-granddaughters; one great-great grandson; one step-great-great grandson; sisters, Ida V. Olson of Visalia, Calif., Lucille Tate of Cottontown, Myrtle Smith of Millersville, Evelyn Bynum of Cookville.
In lieu of flowers, family request donations to be made to the Music Land Fund, Connell Memorial United Methodist Church.

Ruth Wilkinson Roaden
Ruth Wilkinson Roaden, 77, died Monday, July 28, 2003, at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Graveside services and intermenty was conducted Thursday, July 31 at 1 p.m. at White House Memorial Gardens with Rev. Hap Hewgley officiating.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, James Rick Roaden; daughters, Cheryl Roaden Heath, Sylvia Roaden Carney, Karen Roaden Rippy; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Polly Blankenship Murphy
Polly Blankenship Murphy, 67, died July 31, 2003, at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 2 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House at 11 a.m. with Rev. Delwyn Fryer and Rev. Paul Edwards.
Pallbearers were Robert Murphy, Mark Murphy, Troy Brooks, Terry Bartlett, Gene Bartlett, Jerry Bean, John Page and Wayne Brown.
Interment followed in White House Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband, Rufus Gordan Murphy of Greenbrier; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Eric Swift of Greenbrier; son and daughter-in-law, Richard G. and Lisa Murphy of Adams; sister, Frances Cassetty of Pleasant Shade; brother, James Blankenship of Springfield; and four grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House was in charge of arrangements.
