Sammie Brannon
Services for Sammie Lee Brannon, 73, of Nelson Circle, Smyrna, who died from cancer Tuesday, Sept. 29, at his residence, are scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m. at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Frank Neal will officiate.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Richard Lee and Allie Ester Whitehead Brannon. He was preceded in death by a son, David Brannon.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Stribling of North Carolina; three brothers, Jack E. Brannon of Rockvale, William Ray "Dick" Brannon of Murfreesboro, and Thomas E. Brannon of Salem; one sister, Faye Campbell of Una; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brannon was a World War II veteran of the Navy. He was a retired, self-employed painter and had lived in Texas before moving to Murfreesboro seven years ago.
Visitation with the family will be today from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.

Riley Crook
Services for Riley Donald Crook, 68, of Highway 96, Auburntown, who died Monday, Sept. 28, at Baptist Hospital, were scheduled for today at 3 p.m. at Woodbury Funeral Home with burial in Prosperity Cemetery. Jimmy Bond and Thurman Seber will officiate.
He was the son of Sallie Crook of Auburntown and the late Riley O. Crook.
He is survived by his mother; a sister, Sue Powell of Auburntown; two nieces, Sara Irwin of Germany and Elizabeth Graves of Thailand; and a nephew, John Powell of Auburntown.
A native of Wilson County, he was retired from the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of the Prosperity Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia Society of America.

Earlie Powell
Graveside services for Earlie Powell, 83, of Eagleville, who died Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center after an extended illness, are scheduled for today at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. A.D. Salisbury and Rebecca Salisbury will officiate.
Mr. Powell was the son of the late Benjamin Isom and Lena Viola Bee Powell.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. M.E. Powell; a daughter, Mary Ann Powell of Eagleville; and several nieces and nephews.
A native of Giles County, he was a member of the Baptist church and was a retired farmer.
Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill is in charge of arrangements.

Willie Randolph
Services for Willie Clyde Randolph, 69, who died Tuesday, Sept. 29, at his Almaville Road home, will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home in Columbia with burial in Hardison Cemetery. Ronald Leathers will officiate.
Born in Maury County, he was the son of William Lee and Beaulah Irene Roberts Randolph. His wife was Lelia Beatrice Kelley Randolph, who died June 9, 1998.
He is survived by two sons, Clyde Randolph and J.B. Randolph, both of Columbia; four daughters, Bessie Hawkins of Arrington, Nancy Cates of Williamsport, Linda Taylor of White House and Patricia Seagraves of Greenbrier, Ark.; three sisters, Mary Minor and Henrietta Bolton, both of Columbia, and Eva Lee Keel of Indiana; three brothers, Ottha Randolph of Chapel Hill, Elbert Randolph of Spokane, Wash., and Horace Randolph of Brooksville, Fla; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was a Baptist and a welder and steel worker who was retired from Interstate Paving Co.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Clara Arnold
Services for Clara Arnold, 79, of Murfreesboro, who died Monday, Sept. 28, at her residence, will be at noon, Friday at H. Preston Scales & Sons Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. John K.L. Young will officiate.
She is survived by three sisters, Lucille Malone of Nashville, Ora Gaymon of Las Vegas, N.M., and Hermine Tucker of Murfreesboro; two brothers, John H. Tucker of Murfreesboro and Jessie Tucker of Detroit, Mich.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at H. Preston Scales & Sons Funeral Home.

James L. Herrod
Graveside services for James L. Herrod, 88, Murfreesboro, who died Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Boulevard Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery. Paul Gray Cooper will officiate.
A native of the Lascassas and Milton communities, he was the son of Elbert and Mary Burnett Herrod.
He is survived by his wife, Cornelia Hopkins Herrod; five sons, Don Herrod, Jeff Herrod, James Herrod and Mack Herrod, all of Murfreesboro, and David Herrod of Gadsden, Ala.; three daughters, Ann Scott, Connie Davis and Penny Vick, all of Murfreesboro; one brother, Joe Frank Herrod of Chattanooga; a sister, Maudean Blythe of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was a retired employee of the State of Tennessee and the Rutherford County Highway Department. He was a member of the Bethlehem Church of Christ.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Woodfin Chapel.

Laura M. DeKoker
Memorial services for Laura Mildred DeKoker, 72, Compton Road, who died Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Christian Church with Rev. Mark Calvert-Rosenberger officiating.
She was a native of Kentucky and the daughter of the late Willie and Laura Bell. Her husband was the late Jack DeKoker.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Lee of Murfreesboro and Carolyn Joyce Phipps-Gautry, Navarro, Cal.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A member of Central Christian Church, she was a retired nurse from Kaiser Hospital in San Francisco and the owner of Paradise Rise Stables in Murfreesboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Mrs. DeKoker may be made to the American Heart Association.
Visitation with the family will be following the service at the church.

John G. Tittsworth
Services for John Gregory Tittsworth, 83, Athens, who died Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Sunrise Care and Rehab in Decatur, are set for 2 p.m. EDT Friday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens. Grave side services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Willow Mountain Cemetery in Shelbyville.
A native of Walling, Tenn., and former resident of Maryville, he was a son of the late John B. and Ella Katherine Jenkins Tittsworth and was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Tittsworth.
He is survived by one brother, George Tittsworth of Tullahoma; four sisters, Lucille Stevenson of Longview, Texas, Anne Smith of Roswell, Ga., Dolly Jolly of Murfreesboro and Elizabeth Dennis of Hixson.
He attended Goodsprings Baptist Church and was a member of the Shelbyville Masonic Lodge No. 122 F. and A.M.
During World War II, he was with the U.S. Army Air Corps, after which he served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant in 1962. He then worked as an airplane mechanic at McGee-Tyson Airport and in aircraft maintenance at the McMinn County Airport.
Visitation will be Friday from 12 p.m.- 2 p.m. EDT at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.

Nola Bell Greba
Services for Nola Bell Smith Greba, 80, Foxdale Drive, Murfreesboro, who died Thursday, Oct. 1, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Jennings & Ayers chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. James Clouse and the Rev. David Pitman will officiate.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Maude Travis Bell, and the widow of Palmer A. Smith, her first husband, and Frank Greba. She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Glen Smith Sr.
She is survived by a son, Palmer A. Smith Jr. of Mt. Juliet; two daughters, Ethel Smith Bly and Millie Arnold, both of Murfreesboro; a brother, Homer Bell of Kentucky; a sister, Pauline Keener of Ohio; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Gethsemane House of Prayer.
She had owned and operated a restaurant and was a Caretaker for the Elderly.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Jennings & Ayers.
