MAMIE B. SHUMPERT, 80, of Memphis, homemaker, died of heart failure Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in Forest Hill cemetery East. She was a member of Raleigh Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Shumpert, the widow of James H. Shumpert, leaves a daughter, Beverly Kessler of Bartlett; a son, John M. Shumpert of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; a sister, Polly Bowen of Arkabutla, Miss., nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to The American Diabetes Association.

STEPHEN SREDONJA, 73, of Memphis, master chief petty officer in the Navy for 31 years, died of Parkinson disease Thursday at Saint Francis Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Ashland (Miss.) cemetery. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Mr. Sredonja, the husband of Sudie Sredonja, also leaves a son, Marc Sredonja of Collierville; a sister, Jean Pellegrini of Apopka, Fla., and three brothers, Rudolph Sredonja of Elizabeth, Pa., and Ralph Sredonja and Louis Sredonja, both of Somerset, Pa. The family requests that memorials be sent to National Parkinson's Disease Foundation in Miami or Redeemer Lutheran Church.

LOUISE E. TABOR, 80, of Memphis, retired textile worker, died of heart failure Wednesday at Methodist Healthcare-Central after a heart attack. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Funeral Home Midtown with burial in Forest Hill cemetery Midtown. She leaves four sisters, Ola Titel of Memphis, Ada Maxwell and Billie Swift, both of Stuttgart, Ark., and Hazel Herod of Houston and two brothers, Buddy Barbee of Heber Springs, Ark., and Tommy Barbee of Des Arc, Ark.

MARGIE PAULINE NELSON TAYLOR, 87, of San Antonio, formerly of Memphis, retired technician for Southerland Paper Co., died of heart failure Tuesday at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Memphis Memory Gardens. Forest Hill Funeral Home East has charge. She was a former member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Taylor, the widow of Fred E. Taylor, leaves two sons, Fred E. Taylor II of Mesa, Ariz., and Ronald Taylor of San Antonio, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

LILLY MAE THOMAS, 67, of Hughes, Ark., homemaker, died of heart failure Friday at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul AME Church in Hughes with burial in St. John cemetery there. Anthony Funeral Home in West Memphis has charge. Mrs. Thomas leaves two daughters, Francis Ann Braddock and Christine Thomas, both of Hughes; six sons, Willie Tiggs of Memphis, Sammy Braddock and Wilbert Thomas Jr., both of Hughes, Sylvester Thomas and Drewer Thomas, both of Dallas, and Michael Thomas of Cordova; four sisters, Betty Lay of Hughes, Mary Randle and Margaret Lewis, both of Memphis, and Billy Ruth Robinson of Chicago, 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

CORA L. THORNTON, 86, of Memphis, homemaker, died of heart failure Monday at her home. Services will be at noon Saturday at True Baptist Church with burial in Union Hill cemetery in Eudora, Miss. Henderson Funeral Home in Tunica, Miss. has charge. Mrs. Thornton, the wife of Roosevelt Thornton, also leaves a son, Roscoe Thornton of Memphis; three sisters, Lelia Rice and Irene Christian, both of Memphis and Francis Cole of Chicago; a brother, Harrison Smith Jr. of Memphis, and five grandchildren.

CECILIA ANN WALDROP, 57, of Concord, Calif., formerly of Memphis, homemaker, died of heart failure Nov. 8 at her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Forest Hill Funeral Home Midtown with entombment in Forest Hill Mausoleum Midtown. Mrs. Waldrop, the wife of Robert D. Waldrop, also leaves a daughter, Terry Lynn Vaughn of Albany, Calif.; two sons, James D. McLean and Robert D. McLean, both of Concord; four sisters, Rachel Ehrman of Dallas, Alice Moody of Roanoke, Va., Lillian Stearns of Winter Springs, Fla., and Maureen H. Berry of Antioch, Calif., and three grandchildren.

CHARLES E. WALKER, 76, of Memphis, retired Navy officer and accountant, died of cancer Thursday at his home. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church, where he was a member. Mr. Walker, the husband of Nancy Walker, also leaves a daughter, Debra Hill of Memphis; a son, Charles Walker of Oak Harbor, Wash.; a brother, Ben Walker of Petrolia, Calif., and four grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Trinity Hospice, the Church Health Center or a charity of the donor's choice.

CORINTHA WILLIAMS, 69, of Chicago, formerly of Memphis, nurse's assistant, died of heart failure Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Chicago. Harrison's Funeral Home Orange Mound Chapel has charge. She leaves a son, Victor Williams of Chicago; her mother, Tommie Boyd Gillum of Memphis; four sisters, Nannie Ivy of Chicago, Ruth Callahan of Columbus, Ohio and Jewel Currie and Jeanette Stanback, both of Memphis and a brother, Howard Williams of Memphis.

WILLIS L. WILLIAMS III, 59, of Memphis, died Tuesday at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis after a stroke. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Memorial Park. Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School and became a Christian Brother. He leaves his father, Willis L. Williams Jr. of St. Louis and two sisters, Claire King of Memphis and Mary Delaney of St. Louis.

JOSEPH BYRON CHAMBERS, 79, of Ripley, Tenn., farmer, died of heart failure Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley with burial in Ripley Memorial Gardens. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was an Army veteran. Mr. Chambers, the husband of Irene Greer Chambers, also leaves local survivors including a daughter, Pam Butler of Bartlett, and a grandchild.

MAE HELEN JONES GRIFFIN, 71, of Holly Springs, Miss., homemaker, died of heart failure Monday at Beverly Healthcare Center in Southaven. Services will be at noon Saturday at Chulahoma Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the senior citizens organization and a former member of the Pastor's Aide Circle, with burial in the church cemetery. J. F. Brittenum & Son Funeral Home in Holly Springs has charge. She leaves local survivors including a daughter, Brenda Carolyn Guy, and a son, Isaac Griffin Jr., and a sister, Zettie B. Ware, all of Memphis, 18 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mitchell, the wife of Daniel Mitchell, also leaves local survivors including four sons, Wayne Mitchell and Tommy Mitchell, both of Oakland, Tenn., Steve Mitchell of Southaven and Ricky Mitchell of Horn Lake; a sister, Leo Morgan of Millington, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
