PALLIE ESTES, 56, of Memphis, bookkeeper, died
of cancer Wednesday at her home. Services will be
at 11 a.m. Saturday at Northridge/Woodhaven Funeral
Home with burial in Northridge/Woodhaven cemetery.
Mrs. Estes, the wife Dwayne Estes for 38 years, also
leaves a daughter Terri Estes of Cordova; a son Tony
Estes of Atoka, and two grandchildren. She also leaves
her step-mother Marianne Johnson of Visalia, CA. and
step-sister Shirley Fox. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Trusty Morrow, Sr., 88 years old, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2001. Sunset in the evening 7:05 pm. Mr. Morrow, formerly of Somerville, Tennessee, had relocated with his nine children, all of Los Angeles, California, in early July 2001.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 3, 2001, at 11:00 AM, at Morrow Grove CME Church, 5790 Armour Drive, Somerville, Tennessee, presiding and Eulogy lead by Reverend William Bufford.
Body will lie in state at the church, 9am-11am.

James K. Davis, 88, of Memphis, TN, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001. He was born in Canton, MS. and moved to Memphis where he began his professional career as Program Director of Shelby County Tuberculosis Association and later retired as an educator at Melrose High School. He was a dedicated member of his church, Faith Ministries; a graduate of Tennessee State University; and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
An avid Sportsman and athlete, he worked many years with the Recreation Department of Memphis Park Commission. He served as Scout Master, Boy Scouts of America, Troop #126. He was vice president and president of the Municipal Interscholastic Umpire Association for 25 years. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Falls Davis; three daughters, Joyce Coleman, and Montee Davis, both of Memphis and Davene Davis of St. Petersburg, FL; three granddaughters, Therese Lee, Clarice Lee, and Margarita Coleman, Memphis; a sister, Ariedell Jones of Canton, MS; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marjory H. Cartwright Tiller, 89, died Tuesday at the Heartland of Memphis nursing home. She was the widow of the late Claude Tiller. She is survived by sons, Charles Tiller, Thomas Tiller, II and Joseph Tiller; grandson, Thomas Tiller, III; and great-granddaughter, Lauren Tiller. Mrs. Tiller was an active volunteer, teaching exercise to senior citizens at the Wesley Highland Towers for over 14 years. Mrs. Tiller established the Marjory's Heart treatment fund at the ACAR Center in 1999. Mrs. Tiller's funeral will be at 1 pm, Friday, at Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home in Somerville, TN. Burial will be in the Macon cemetery in Macon, TN. The family request that any memorials be sent to the Marjory's Heart Fund that provides alcohol and drug treatment for children at the Alcohol & Chemical Abuse Rehab (ACAR Center), 633 Monroe, Memphis, TN 38103

Dorothy H. (Dot) England, age 71 of Memphis, died October 27, 2001 at the home of her son in Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Virgie Hollowell and by her brother, Julius J. Hollowell. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dr. W. David and Janie England of Knoxville, TN, son Larry E. England of Longwood, FL, and grandchildren Jason D. England (Joy) of Lompac, CA, Brian W. England (Marci) of Memphis, Kristin D. England of Gainsville, FL, Zachary P. England of Gainsville, FL, and Maxwell G. England of Knoxville, niece Judith H. Thompson of Longwood, FL, and nephew J. Stephen Hollowell of Perry, FL. She was born 1-4-30 in Memphis and lived there most of her 71 years and she was a nurse for over 40 years. After her family and her work, Dot's great love was the University of Tennessee, especially it's great football program and women's basketball team. She traveled extensively in support of the Vols. At one time from 1979-1996, she attended 209 consecutive football games. She was past president of the Shelby County Big Orange Club and a tireless worker for UT in Memphis. The family would like to thank, Dr. Max Foner of Memphis, devoted employer, physician and friend for 35 years. A special thanks to Baptist Home Care in Knoxville for their compassion and care. Service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday at Memphis Funeral Home with entombment in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mr. Donald M. Sherman, 54, died on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001. He was a gradujate of Carver High School (1965), LeMoyne-Owen College (BA), and Southern Illinois University (MA).
For 30 years, he worked as an Attendance Specialist with the Memphis City Schools, an as an employee of the Memphis Park Commission. He was a member of Longview Heights SDA Church.
The memory of Donald Sherman will be especially cherished forever by his wife, Shirley Little Sherman; his son, Justin Murrell Sherman; his parents, Walter and Elizabeth Sherman; a sister, Carolyn Sherman Owens; an uncle, James A. Sherman, Jr., (Lucy); a niece, Stephanie Walker; a great nephew, Joseph Osiris Walker; a father-in-law, Charles F. Little, Sr., and a lifelong friend, Robert Woodard.
Alpha Phi Alpha Omega services will be conducted at N.J. Ford Funeral Home on Tue4sday, October 30, 15 7 p.m. The Wake will be held Wed., Oct. 31, from 4-6 p.m. at Longview Heights SDA hurch, 685 E. Mallory. Funeral Services will follow at 6 p.m. Interment will be Thurs. Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. in Elmwood cemetery.

DONALD B. SCARLET, 67, of Middleton, TN., formerly of Memphis, died of cancer, November 22, 2001.
Funeral service will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home South on Holmes Road, Saturday, November 24, at 2:30 pm, with burial at the cemetery there.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Middleton.
He was retired from Bell South Telephone Company after 39 years and a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Saulsberry Community Club. He was also active with the Chickasaw Council of The Boys' Scouts of America for many years. He was a US Army Veteran and an avid fisherman and hunter.
He was preceded in death by son, Paul Andrew Scarlet.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Joan Kimbell Scarlet of Middleton; a son, Donald Allen Scarlet and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Poss Scarlet, both of Memphis.
He also leaves 4 granddaughters, Amanda Scarlet Vincent of Dalhart, TX, Holly Michele Scarlet, Aimee Elizabeth Scarlet and Kimberly Suzanne Scarlet, all of Memphis.
He also leaves a brother, Carl Robert Scarlet, of Tullahoma, TN.

Dr. Isaac Gerald Shelby, 93, of Georges Mills, N.H. formerly of Shrewsbury, MA, died Monday, November 19 in New London Hospital, New London, N.H. Dr. Shelby was born in Rosedale, MS, March 13, 1908, the only son of Isaac L. and Ella Jones Shelby.
He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1928, receiving the Bachelor of Science degree and the first two years in medicine. His medical degree was completed at the University of Tennessee in the year 1930. He was a charter member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and a member of the Phi Chi medical fraternity.
He served his internship in the Duval County Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida and was the first resident at Hahnemann Hospital in Worcester, MA from 1931 - 1933.
Following this term of duty he began the practice of general medicine and surgery in Shrewsbury, MA, a profession of his paternal grandfather, who was a Confederate Civil War physician. In 1933, he was appointed to the surgical staff of Worcester Hahnemann Hospital and later was elected president of the staff where he continued his services until his retirement.
During these fifty plus active years he was a member of the Worcester District Medical Society, The Massachusetts Medical Society, the American Medical Association and the Matthew John Whittall Masonic Lodge. He was Medical Director of the Massachusetts Masonic Home from 1939 until his retirement in 1987. During this period he was given the Joseph Warren Masonic Award.
He attended the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury until the Trinity Episcopal Church was formed where he was a member until his death.
His interest in genealogy proved him to be a direct descendant from the emperor Charlemagne.
His wife, Sara A. (Ammons) Shelby died in 1987. He leaves three sons, Gerald S. of Georges Mills, N.H. with whom he lived since 1993, John F., of Boylston, MA, and Robert A. Shelby of Shrewsbury, MA. Seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held in First Congregational Church, 19 Church Rd., Shrewsbury, MA. on Saturday, November 24, 2001 at 10 O'Clock a.m.
It is requested that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church, 440 Main St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545 or the Sara A. Shelby Masonic Memorial Fund for the training of Nurses Assistants, P. O. Box 1000, Charlton, MA 01507. Howard C. Allen Funeral Home, 658 Main St., Shrewsbury, MA is directing arrangements.

Ellen Elizabeth Latting Rogers
Mrs. Ellen Rogers, age 94, of 2001 South Lee Street, Americus, GA died on Sunday morning at Sumter Regional Hospital. Mrs. Rogers was a native of Shelby, County TN, the daughter of the late Alfred and Ellen Latting, Mrs. Rogers was a teacher, teaching at the elementary and high school levels, she was a 4-H member, a member of the Teachers Association, worked with the Special Olympics, and in 1990 was awarded the Volunteer Woman of the year by the Civitan Club of Hapeville for her work in the community. She was a member of the Hapeville First United Methodist Church, but was attending the First United Methodist Church of Americus, while living at Magnolia Manor.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at the Decaturville City cemetery at 12:30 PM, with a visitation at Reed's Chapel in Decaturville, TN from 11:00 AM until service time.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tate and Sissy Rogers, of Nashville, TN, and their children, Rahea Crenshaw, Alfred Tate Rogers, James Tate Rogers, and Alice Rogers. One Daughter, and son-in-law, Rubielen and Howard Norris, of Athens, GA, and their children, Liz Singley, and James Howard Norris, and twelve Great Grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hapeville United Methodist Church Mission Fund, 3510 Atlanta Ave., Hapeville, GA 30354.
Reed's Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. 731-852-3643.
Honorary pallbearers will be Decaturville High School class of 1947.

Dorothy Davis Walden passed away Monday, October 22, 2001 at her home after a four year battle with cancer. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3115 Providence Road in Charlotte. Dr. Richard Newsome officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Harry and Bryant Company, Chapel in the Oaks, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Tuesday, October 23, 2001.
Born October 3, 1921 in Jackson, TN and raised in Memphis, TN, she graduated from Central High School in Memphis TN and Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She married Curtis J. Walden in 1943 and was a devoted wife and homemaker for 58 years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband Curtis J. Walden; a son, Curtis Joe Walden and his wife, June of Lexington, NC, a daughter Candy Walden Field of Charlotte, four grandchildren Brian and Casey Field, Amy Field Bynum and her husband Gordon, all of Charlotte, Gardner Walden of Lexington, NC, two great-granddaughters, Caroline and Louisa Grace Bynum of Charlotte and two brothers, C. Y. Davis, Jr. and W. W. Davis of Memphis, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church or Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC. 28204.
Harry & Bryant Company is serving the family of Mrs. Walden.

Louis Ishmael Renard, 69 of Memphis, TN., died of cancer on October 21, 2001 at Baptist Hospital East.
Services will be at 10:00 AM. on Wednesday October 24, 2001 at Cherry Road Baptist Church with burial at Memory Hill Gardens. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge.
Mrs. Renard was a bookkeeper of Skipworth of Memphis and a member of Cherry Road Baptist Church and an avid Tigers Basketball fan.
She is preceded in death by her 2 brothers Wilburn Ismael and Alvie Ishmael. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, George R. Renard, a daughter Deborah E. Renard of Milwaukee, WI, a son Keith R. Renard of Memphis, TN, 3 sisters Alma Braden of New Buffalo, MI, Rachel Hill, Emma Nell Knight both of Truman, AR, one granddaughter, Kayleigh Renard and her mother Jan Epstein Freeman and a host of friends. Memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Wings Cancer Foundation.
