UDELL W. BURGIN, 82, of Memphis, retired captain from the Memphis Fire Department after 28 years, died of heart failure Saturday at Saint Francis Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bartlett, where he was a communicant, with burial in Memory Hill Gardens. Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel has charge. Mr. Burgin, the widower of Margaret Burgin, leaves two daughters, Ann Taylor of Lakeland, Fla., and Mary Margaret Jackomino of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Ted Burgin of Memphis; a brother, Wayne Burgin of St. Louis, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.

GARY 'BUDDY' CARTER, 61, of Memphis, wallpaper contractor, died of lung disease Monday at Methodist Healthcare-Central. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. Bartlett Funeral Home Bartlett Station Chapel has charge. He was a member of Rugby Hills Baptist Church and an Air Force veteran. He leaves a daughter, Tammie Boullen of California; a stepdaughter, Karen Patton of Memphis; his mother, Ruth Voyles; four sisters, Joyce Floyd, Jackie Resavy, Jeanie Stewart and Robbie Hewlett, all of Memphis, and four grandchildren.

RONALD ALLEN COLOMBO, 58, of Chardon, Ohio, formerly of Memphis, auto salesman, died of heart disease Thursday in Chardon. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Mentor, Ohio, with burial in Calvary cemetery in Cleveland. He was a Vietnam War Navy veteran. He leaves two daughters, Dawn Merritt of Orlando and Tonya Mae Colombo of Gainesville, Fla.; two sons, Fred Colombo of Jupiter, Fla., and Ronald Colombo of Fort Gordon, Ga.; his father, Fred Colombo, and a brother, Fred Colombo, both of Mentor, and five grandchildren.

CLYDE COX, 54, of Memphis, retired staff sergeant for the Army, died of heart failure Thursday at his home. Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mid South Funeral Home with burial in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. He was a Vietnam War veteran. Mr. Cox, the widower of Julia Cox, leaves a son, Marcus Cox of Jackson, Miss.; a stepdaughter, Phyllis Mitchell of East St. Louis, Ill.; and four sisters, Georgia Cox, Clydia M. Wilson, Helen Cox and Deloris Hallom, and four brothers, J. B. Cox, Mack Cox, Robert Cox and Melvin Cox, all of Memphis.

CAROLYN RUFFIN CRAIG, 86, of Covington, homemaker and former Tipton County School teacher, died of heart failure Saturday at her home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at R. H. Munford cemetery in Covington. Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home in Covington has charge. She was a member of Covington First United Methodist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Craig, the widow of J. T. Craig, leaves a daughter, Carolyn Morrison of New Braunfels, Texas; two sons, Dr. S. Ruffin Craig and Dr. James T. Craig, Jr., both of Jackson, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Covington First United Methodist Church, Hospice of Jackson or Tipton County Public Library.

JOE KENNETH EDWARDS, 57, of Memphis, retired from the Coca-Cola Bottling Co., died of heart failure Friday at UT Bowld Hospital. He leaves a daughter, Angela McDowell of Drummonds; a son, Kenneth Edwards of Memphis; two sisters, Betty Garrison of Snow Lake, Miss., and Frances Richards of Memphis; five brothers, Ralph Edwards of Snow Lake, Earl Ray Edwards, Donald Edwards and James Lewis Edwards, all of Memphis, and Jacky Edwards of Houlka, Miss., and two grandchildren. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where he attended Sunday school and was a member of the Male Choir, with burial in Haliburton cemetery in Nesbit. E.H. Ford Mortuary Services has charge. Mr. Glasper, the husband of Irma Glasper, also leaves three sisters, Climmie Martin, Ozell Oliver and Nickie Taylor, all of Memphis, and four sons, Rev.
