Mr. Cothern's remains are at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where his service will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Eld. Charles Allen Gentry will officiate. Interment in the Dixon Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Carthage Chapel. The family requests memorials to the North Carthage Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.

Mrs. Stella Carter, age 90, of Carthage, died Thursday at the Smith County Health Care Center. She had no immediate survivors. Mrs. Carter's remains are at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where her service will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Dr. Ernest Jones and Edward L. Anderson will officiate. Interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be only on Saturday from 12 noon until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Carthage Chapel.

Mrs. Elizabeth C. Beasley, age 91, of Carthage, died Monday afternoon at her daughter's home in Pasedena, Texas. She is survived by: daughters, Edna Jones of Pasedena, TX, Marilyn Daigre of Fairhope, AL; sisters, Willie Farley of Old Hickory, Ruth Jones of McKinze, and Lena Carter of Madison; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Beasley's remains are at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where her service will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Thomas Baines will officiate. Graveside service and interment will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the Smith County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Russell Cain officiating.
