Memorial services for Cara Dawn Chamberlin, 29, of Paris, were held Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the McCabe United Methodist Church in Martin. Miss Chamberlin passed away at her home on Monday. She was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and held a degree in Art from The University of Tampa. She was currently attending UTM preparing for a Teaching Career. She did Volunteer work at the elementary school and was employed by Community Developmental Services. Her final disposition was cremation. She is survived by her father, Tom (Bonnie) Chamberlin of Gleason; her mother, Nancy Chamberlin of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Chad and Collin Chamberlin of Pittsburg; two stepbrothers, Mike and Tim Graden of Portage, Idaho; and a stepsister, Amy Graden of Gleason. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Martin Housing Authority Afterschool Program or any children's programs of your choice. Arrangements were handled by Heavenly Gates Funeral Home. Helen Louise Randle, 78, of Martin, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Randle were held Saturday, April 7, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. at Progressive Baptist Church in Martin. Burial followed in Parham Cemetery also located in Martin. Rev. John Williams officiated the services. Mrs. Randle was a Custodian at the University of Tennessee at Martin. She was a member of Progressive Baptist Church, where she was faithful on the Missionary Society, the Senior Choir, and the Mothers Board. Mrs. Randle was born April 8, 1922 in Martin to the late Rev. Anthony E. Willoughby and Viola Taylor Willoughby. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rubin Randle; two daughters; two sons; two sisters, Velma Brooks and Virginia Williams; and five brothers, Daniel (Ise) Willoughby, James Willoughby, Thomas Willoughby, Isaiah Willoughby, and a baby brother. Mrs. Randle is survived by three daughters, Agnes Morris of Martin, Virginia Gragg of Martin, and Brenda Scott of Memphis; two sisters, Rev. O.B. Wynne of Martin, and Wenetta (Bob) Smith of Martin; four brothers, Anthony D. (Marta) Willoughby of Martin, Rev. William G. (Nell) Willoughby of Sharon, Bobby J. Willoughby of Chicago, Illinois, and Cleantris L. (Peggy) Willoughby of Chicago, Illinois; four grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ruth Lintz
Mrs. Ruth Lintz, 93, a resident of Hillview Nursing Center in Dresden, formerly of the Austin Springs Community in Dukedom and South Fulton, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Hillview Nursing Center. Graveside services for Mrs. Lintz were held Saturday, April 7, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. at Morgan Cemetery in Weakley County. Mrs. Lintz was a Homemaker, as well as a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Weakley County. She was born March 23, 1908 in Weakley County to the late W.N. Vincent and Nora Austin Vincent. Mrs. Lintz was also preceded in death by her husband, Burnett Lintz; and a son-in-law, Mr. Billy McCollum. Mrs. Lintz is survived by a daughter, Nora Mae McCollum of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of South Fulton; a sister, Mildred Wright of Pilot Oak, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Dr. Lionel McCollum and Lorie McCollum Lewis, both of Knoxville; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Hillary Lewis, and Lauren and Kristen McCollum, all of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Ronald Allen Reagan
Ronald Allen Reagan, 56, of Paragould, Arkansas, died Sunday, April 1st, 2001. He was born June 14, 1944 in Blytheville, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sybie Ann Crowell Reeves. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Louise Reagan; two sons, Kevin Reagan of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Dennis Green of Lewisville, Texas; a grandson, Chase Allen Green of Lewisville; his father and stepmother, William and Ruby Reagan of Dresden; three brothers, Scott Reagan of Paris, Tennessee, Matt Reagan of Palmersville, and Philip Reagan of Dover, Tennessee; a sister, Joann Haddock of Arbyrd, Missouri; and his stepfather, Floyd Reeves of Leeachville, Arkansas. The funeral was held April 5, 2001, at Paragould, Arkansas.

Robert Howard Jones
Robert Howard Jones, 77, of Greenfield, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Methodist Volunteer General Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held today, Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow in Morris Cemetery also located in Greenfield. Houston Patrick and Joe Lusby will officiate the services. Mr. Jones was a Factory Worker as well as a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Martin. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Jones was born March 15, 1924 in Martin to the late Oscar Jones and Lorene Atkinson. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Iva Jones of Greenfield; two sons, Danny Jones of Greenfield, and Ricky Jones and wife, Kyrous, of Milan; a daughter, Phyllis McDonald and husband, Bobby, of Greenfield; two sisters, Patsy Link of Chicago, Illinois, and Louise Spect of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; a brother, Charles Dean Pate of Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Nancy Jane Allen
Nancy Jane Allen, 57, of McKenzie, died Sunday, April 8, 2001 at Milan General Hospital in Milan. Funeral services for Ms. Allen will be held today, Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie. Burial will follow in Union Academy Cemetery also located in McKenzie. Bro. Dennis Beal will officiate the services. Ms. Allen was a Door Greeter for Sam's Club in Jackson, Tennessee, as well as a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Humboldt and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #4728 in Humboldt. She was born September 2, 1943 in McKenzie to the late Claude Willie and Corine Brown Allen. Ms. Allen is survived by a brother, Richard Allen of Dresden; and a special friend, Johnny Kilburn of Humboldt.

Sue Brewer Ferguson
Sue Brewer Ferguson, 71, of Martin, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at Methodist Central in Memphis. Funeral services for Mrs. Ferguson were held Sunday, April 8, 2001, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Martin. Burial followed on Monday, April 9, at Memorial Park Memphis. Dr. Roger S. Oldham and Dr. Herbert Gabhart officiated the services. Mrs. Ferguson was a Former Teacher and Homemaker, as well as a member of First Baptist Church in Martin, where she and her husband taught the Ferguson Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Fort Nightly Club in Martin, the Kings Daughters and Sons in Memphis, and the Martin High School Class of 1947. Mrs. Ferguson was on the Board of Trustees at Harrison Chillhowee Baptist Academy in Seymour, Tennessee. She had a B.A. Degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Mrs. Ferguson was born September 2, 1929 in Mayfield, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father, Gaither Brewer. Mrs. Ferguson is survived by her husband, Lanier Ferguson of Martin; a son, Jere Ferguson of Memphis; two daughters, Lynn Webster of Duluth, Georgia, and Debra Nicholson of Seabrook, Texas; her mother, Gladys Bales Brewer of Martin; a sister, Bettye Falls of Clarksville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Jonathan William Webster, Jeremy Lanier Ferguson, Sarah Elizabeth Ferguson, Robert James Nicholson, and Jennifer Sue Nicholson. Mr. William Andrew "Bill" Mangum
Mr. William Andrew "Bill" Mangum, 78, of Dresden, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Methodist Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mr. Mangum were held Saturday, April 7, 2001, at 3:00 p.m. at Dresden First Baptist Church. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery also located in Dresden. Dr. Don McCulley officiated the services. Mr. Mangum was Retired from the State of TN Department of Employment Security and the Retired Owner of Mangum Oil Company. He was an Army Veteran of World War II as a B-25 Bomber Pilot. Mr. Mangum was a Member of Dresden First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Timothy Sunday School Class, a Charter Member of the Dresden Lions Club,a Charter Member of the Weakley County Country Club, a Member of the Elks Lodge 2373, a Member of American Legion Post 94, and the VFW. He was born in Dresden to the late William Frank Mangum and Ruth Myrick Mangum Woods. Mr. Mangum was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jenny Marie Mangum. Mr. Mangum is survived by his wife, Marie Pentecost Mangum of Dresden; a daughter, Amy M. Finney of Dresden; a son, Andy Mangum of Dresden; two sisters, Katie Sanders of Dresden, and Barbara Garner of Dresden; a stepson, Charles "Coochie" Woods of Dresden; and four grandchildren, Lowe Finney of St. Louis, Missouri, Lauren Finney of Dresden, Matt Mangum of Dresden, and Kasey Mangum of Washington, D.C.

Mr. Caliph "Bart" Wilson
Mr. Caliph "Bart" Wilson, 52, of Dukedom, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at his home. Graveside services for Mr. Wilson were held Saturday, April 7, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. at Matheny Grove Cemetery near Palmersville. Bro. Melvin Poe officiated the service. Mr. Wilson was a Farmer, as well as a member of the South Fulton Baptist Church. He was a native of Martin and the son of the late William Neal Wilson. Mr. Wilson was also preceded in death by a grandchild. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Treva Ann McFadden Wilson of Dukedom; two daughters, Vicki McAlister of Dresden, and Virginia Grimm of Dresden; two sons, Rick Lee Wilson of South Fulton, and William Wilson of Dukedom; his mother, Frances Henry Wilson of South Fulton; four sisters, Betty Wilson of Martin, Elloise Wilson of Martin, Debbie Newsome of South Fulton, and Mary Tilford of Bardwell, Kentucky; a brother, Danny Wilson of South Fulton; and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Leo Kelly Parham
Mr. Leo Kelly Parham, 86, of Dresden, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Parham were held Saturday, April 7, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Entombment followed in Sunset Cemetery also located in Dresden. Rev. George Smith officiated the services. Mr. Parham was Retired from the Associated Spring Co. in Plymouth, Michigan, as well as a member of West Union Baptist Church in Dresden. He was also a 58-year Mason Acacia Lodge #477 in Grosse Point, Michigan. Mr. Parham was a native of Dresden and the son of the late Josh and Emma King Parham. Mr. Parham is survived by his wife, Nina Olene Enix Parham of Dresden; and two daughters, Diane Stephens of California, and Christy Parham of Rochester, Michigan.

Mrs. Justine Shelton Robertson
Mrs. Justine Shelton Robertson, a longtime resident of Somerville and a local beautician for many years before her retirement, died at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2001, at her residence on South Main Street in Somerville. She was 86 years of age. Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4th, at the Peebles Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Walter German, Pastor of the Somerville First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Somerville City Cemetery. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Robertson was born August 9, 1914, in Somerville, the daughter of the late Samuel Lee and Susie Elizabeth Lewis Shelton. Mrs. Robertson attended Fayette County schools and was a 1932 graduate of the Fayette County High School in Somerville where she was an outstanding basketball player during her high school years. She was also a graduate of the Memphis Cosmetology School. Mrs. Robertson was married June 14, 1931 to Mr. David A. Robertson, Jr. of Somerville who preceded her in death on June 30, 1993. She was a beauty shop operator in Somerville for over thirty years before her retirement. Mrs. Robertson was a longtime member of the Somerville United Methodist Church and for over thirty years sang in the Sanctuary Choir of the church. She enjoyed music throughout her life and in earlier years was active in the Somerville Chapter of the order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Robertson will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed entertaining her family through the years at the Robertson vacation home in Destin, Florida. Mrs. Robertson is survived by three sons, David S. Robertson of Somerville, Alvah Palmer Robertson of Williston, Gene Revelle Robertson of Dresden; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Somerville Cemetery Association or Somerville First United Methodist Church.

Edmund Sweeney Hudgins
Edmund Sweeney Hudgins, 84, of Martin, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at Methodist Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Graveside services for Mr. Hudgins were held Friday, June 8, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. at East Side Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Kermit (Buddy) Travis officiated the service. Mr. Hudgins was born in Buckingham County, Virginia, June 1, 1917. He was the son of the late Walter Scott Hudgins and the late Mariah Catherine Davis, of Arvonia, Virginia. He graduated from the Virginia Politechnic Institute and University in Blacksburg, Virginia as an Electrical Engineer. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Hudgins was in the 351st Bomb Squadron of the 8th Air Force. He studied at three Air Force technical schools in the U.S. and at the Royal Air Force School at Cramwell, England, in the field of radar. He served overseas for two years, receiving six battle stars and distinguished unit badge. Mr. Hudgins was an Electrical Engineer with the Tennessee Valley Authority for 31 years in their Electrical Laboratory and Test Branch, advancing to their top grade of salaried engineers before retirement. He completed the TVA advanced course for engineers, technical courses at Nashville Technical College, and training in computer science at Computer Laboratories in Santa Clara, California. He was transferred to Martin as Communications Engineer in 1958 where he lived until his retirement in 1980. For many years an active member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.), he was a superintendent of Sunday Schools in churches in Memphis, Union City, and Martin for a total of eighteen years. He was a deacon, elder, and on building committees for three new Presbyterian Churches in West Tennessee. In 1983 and '84, he was a Commissioner from the Memphis Presbytery to the General Assembly of the National Presbyterian Church meeting in Atlanta and Phoenix respectively. He was on numerous Memphis Presbytery Committees and headed up training schools for church teachers in West Tennessee. He served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Presbyterian children's home, Monroe Harding, in Nashville, Tennessee. A former member of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Mr. Hudgins was a long time member and past president of the Martin Lions Club. He was on the West Tennessee Council of Boy Scouts for many years. A member for two terms of the Martin Library board, Mr. Hudgins was on the Martin City Board of Zoning Appeals for six years. He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by two brothers, Thomas Hudgins and Walter R. Hudgins; a half-brother, Artie Flippen; two half-sisters, Catherine Flippen Harding and Lenora Flippen Kaverman; three step-brothers, Randolph, Charles, and Wesley Flippen. He is survived by his wife, Sally Reveley Hudgins of Martin; a son, Scott Hudgins of Union City; a daughter, Blair Hinds of Knoxville; a sister, Agnes Reed of White Stone, Virginia; three grandchildren, David Hudgins of Martin, Brian Hudgins of Martin, and Whitney Hinds of Knoxville; and many nieces and nephews.

William Morris Liming
William Morris Liming, 73, of Martin, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services for Mr. Liming were held Monday, June 11, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Martin. Burial followed in East Side Cemetery also located in Martin. Rev. Paul McAdoo and Rev. David Russell officiated the services. Mr. Liming was a Retired Banker at City State Bank and Real Estate Broker at Fuller Partners Real Estate. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Liming was a member of the Martin Masonic Lodge #551, former member of the Martin Rotary Club, and member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin. He was born February 27, 1928 in Mississippi to the late Richard Liming and Ida Clemmer Liming. Mr. Liming is survived by his wife, Jean Glover Wood Liming of Martin; two step-daughters, Jeannie Wood Downing of Nashville, and Kathy Wood Siegel of Franklin, Tennessee; two sisters, Joyce Liming Adams of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Flora Mae Liming Jordan of Kosciusko, Mississippi; and three grandchildren, Lauren Wood Siegel, Caitlin Jean Downing, and Brett Wood Downing.

Mrs. Marsleete Travis Hynds
Mrs. Marsleete Travis Hynds, 90, of Martin, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden, where she was a resident. Funeral services for Mrs. Hynds were held Saturday, June 9, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in East Side Cemetery also located in Martin. Rev. Mark Abbott officiated the services. Mrs. Hynds was a Homemaker, as well as a member of Ralston Baptist Church. She was born September 29, 1910 in Weakley County to the late Fielden Travis and Vera Lucille Adams. Mrs. Hynds was also preceded in death by her husband, Hafford Hynds; and three brothers, Terrell Travis, Barton Travis, and James Travis. Mrs. Hynds is survived by a son, James L. Hynds of Memphis; a daughter, Ann Killebrew of Martin; a brother, Charles Travis of Martin; and four granddaughters.

Mrs. Gwendolyn Boling Moore
Mrs. Gwendolyn Boling Moore, 84, of Dresden, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Martin Health Care in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Moore were held Friday, June 8, 2001, at 5:00 p.m. at Dresden First Baptist Church. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery also located in Dresden. Bro. Don McCulley officiated the services. Mrs. Moore was a Retired Teacher for Weakley County School in Dresden, as well as a member of Dresden First Baptist Church. She was a native of Crockett County, Tennessee and the daughter of the late Homer and Florence Boling. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Moore, Sr.. Mrs. Moore is survived by a daughter, Sara Lee Preston of Rolla, Missouri; a son, Thomas L. Moore, Jr. of Dresden; a sister, Betty Sue Carter of Maury City, Tennessee; and four grandchildren. She was a native of Lake County and the daughter of the late Robert E. and Opal Lilly Dial Lee. Mrs. Poore is survived by her husband, Willie D. Poore of Dresden; two daughters, Karen DeVasier of Union City, and Sandra Cravens of Dresden; four step-daughters, Linda Hussein of Dresden, Elaine Chandler of Dresden, Reba Rodriguez of Gleason, and Brenda Poore of Benton, Illinois; a son, Rick J. William Garvin Barger
William Garvin Barger, 86, of Martin, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at Martin Health Care. Funeral services for Mr. Barger were held Sunday, June 10, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in Gardner Cemetery also located in Martin. Bro. Terry Griffen officiated the services. Mr. Barger was Retired after 40 years as a Shipping Clerk for Salent & Salent in Union City. He was a member of Cypress Creek Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. Mr. Barger attended Gardner School, Martin High School, and the University of Tennessee Junior College in Martin. He was born August 29, 1914 in Weakley County in the Gardner Community to the late Joe Barger and Maude Farmer. Mr. Barger is survived by a sister, Martha Helen Sellers of Martin; and a nephew, Joe Trevathan.

Mr. Charles Gilbert Darden, Sr.
Mr. Charles Gilbert Darden, Sr., 66, of Dresden, died Thursday, June 7, 2001 at Methodist Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mr. Darden were held Saturday, June 9, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in Unity Cemetery located in Dresden. Elder Houston Patrick officiated the services. Mr. Darden was Retired from General Motors, as well as a member of Siloam General Baptist Church. He was born July 13, 1934 in Martin to the late Gilbert Darden and Dulcie Roberts. Mr. Darden was also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Hammonds Darden; a brother, Gary Darden; and a sister, Robbie Frost. Mr. Darden is survived by three sons, Warren Darden of Dresden, Charles Darden Jr. of Dresden, and Brian Darden of Dresden; three sisters, Ruth Scott of Dresden, Barbara Rutledge of Lansing, Michigan, and Romona Holbrook of Lansing, Michigan; and eight grandchildren.

Ronald Cruse officiated the services. Mrs. Smith was employed at Tyson Foods, Inc. in Union City. She was born in Newbern, Tennessee on July 21, 1942 to the late Alige Ervine Voss and Lou Adell Dew Voss. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 8 years, Duane Smith of Fulton; a son, Floyd Staggs of Fulton; a daughter, Patti Staggs of Martin; and five sisters, Martha Clemmons of Hornbeak, Katie Buckalew of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Shirley Hubble of Greenfield, Janey Duncan of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Ruby Godsey of Dresden.

Robert Ladell Armour Sr., 77, of Greenfield, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Armour were held Sunday, June 10, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Burial followed in Obion County Memorial Gardens in Union City. Bro. William George and Dan Farmer officiated the services. Mr. Armour was the Retired Director of Missions for Beulah Baptist Association. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, Vice President of the Tennessee Baptist Convention, a Hamm Radio Operator, and Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces serving in the Navy. Mr. Armour was born March 14, 1924 in Hornsby, Tennessee to the late German Cuyllwell Armour and Reesie Lee Mays. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Warren Armour. Mr. Armour is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Mays Armour of Greenfield; a son, Robert L. Armour, Jr. of Union City; a daughter, Delores Wright of Greenfield; three sisters, Sylvia Grissom of Jack Creek, Tennessee, Crystal McEarl of Henderson, Tennessee, and Gloria Sherrill of Henderson, Tennessee; two brothers, Donald Armour of Henderson, Tennessee, and I.L.
