Mr. Carl William Yost
Mr. Carl William Yost, 86, of Dresden, died Monday, June 4, 2001, at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden. Memorial services for Mr. Yost were held graveside Friday, June 8, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Bowlin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Rev. Jim Calhoun officiated the service. Mr. Yost was a Retired Inspector for Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, Michigan, as well as a World War II Veteran serving with the U.S. Army. He attended Dresden First United Methodist Church. Mr. Yost was the son of the late Ludwyck and Margaret Walters Yost. Mr. Yost is survived by his wife, Wilma Horner Yost of Dresden; two daughters, Pat Rogers of Dresden, and Virginia Harper of Marine City, Michigan; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Elbert Hoy Jr.
Mr. Elbert Hoy Jr., 79, of Dresden, formerly of Munford, Tennessee, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Memphis V.A. Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Hoy will be held today, Wednesday, June 13, 2001,at 9:00 a.m. at Munford Funeral Home. Burial will follow in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Hoy was a Farm Laborer as well as a Veteran of WWII. He was a Disabled Veteran and was wounded in Germany. Mr. Hoy was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a Baptist by faith. Mr. Hoy was born January 23, 1922 to the late Elbert Luther Hoy and Ida Lucille Hathcock Hoy. Mr. Hoy is survived by his wife, Ruby Hamilton Hoy; a daughter, Robin Simmons of Sharon; a foster daughter, Kathy Ruprecht of Cleveland, Texas; a son, Mark A. Hoy of Dresden; seven sisters, Alma Goff of Millington, Wilma Adkison of Millington, Dorothy Owens of Splendora, Texas, Doris Carrol of Rockford, Illinois, Hettie Rice of Covington, Mary Ann Nash of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Alice Faye Ferrell of Greenville, South Carolina; three brothers, William Hoy of Brighton, Jimmy Hoy of Ripley, and Milton (Mickey) Hoy of Munford; and one grandchild.

Mrs. Sammye Williams Glasgow
Mrs. Sammye Williams Glasgow, 74, of Dresden, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services for Mrs. Glasgow were held Saturday, June 9, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery also located in Dresden. Mrs. Glasgow was Retired from General Telephone Company. She was a native of Fulton, Kentucky and the daughter of the late Sam Roy and Ethel Collins. Mrs. Glasgow was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Glasgow; and a son, Thomas Michael Glasgow. Mrs. Glasgow is survived by two daughters, Beth Adams of Dresden, and Cathy Glasgow of Dresden; a sister, Bettie McAlister of Fulton, Kentucky; and three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Weakley County Library.

Ms. Roma Jean Weldon
Ms. Roma Jean Weldon, 62, of Martin, died Thursday, August 16, 2001, at Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. Funeral services for Ms. Weldon were held Saturday, August 18, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in East Side Cemetery also located in Martin. Rev. Fady Al-Hagal and Rev. Brady Weldon officiated the services. Ms. Weldon was a Homemaker, as well as a member of Southside Baptist Church in Martin. She was born February 7, 1939 in Martin to the late Clifton (Cliff) Weldon and Virginia Moore. Ms. Weldon was a graduate of Martin High School. Ms. Weldon is survived by a son, Joe McKnight of Nashville, Tennessee; a daughter, Melissa Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee; a brother, Cary Weldon of Martin; two grandchildren; and one step-grandson.

Mr. Thomas Bedford Insco
Mr. Thomas Bedford Insco, 88, of Martin, died Thursday, August 16, 2001, at Methodist Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mr. Insco were held Sunday, August 19, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in East Side Cemetery, also located in Martin. Rev. Scott Pencik officiated the services. Mr. Insco worked for Mosley-Insco Grocery in Dresden, as well as a member of Ralston Baptist Church in Martin. He was born May 16, 1913 in Dresden to the late Albert James Insco and Ethel Lou Mosley. In addition to his parents, Mr. Insco was also preceded in death by wives, Ruth Cooper Insco, and Mary Evelyn Johns Insco. Mr. Insco is survived by his wife, Mrs. Judy Page Insco of Martin; three stepsons, Noel Arant of Martin, Ronald Arant of South Fulton, and Joel Arant of Orlando, Florida; two daughters, Glenda Lou Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, and Debra Faye Bartholomew of Orlando, Florida; a stepdaughter, Diana Kivett of Richmond, Virginia; a brother, Robert Insco of Dittmer, Missouri; a sister, Effie Alabach of Dittmer, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Agnes Louise Garner
Mrs. Agnes Louise Garner, 81, of Dresden, died Sunday, August 12, 2001, at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden. Funeral services for Mrs. Garner were held Wednesday, August 15, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery, also located in Dresden. Bro. Terry Griffin officiated the services. Mrs. Garner was a Homemaker, as well as a member of Dresden First Baptist Church. She was born in Dresden to the late Oscar and Eula Pascall Taylor. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garner was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Garner Jr. Mrs. Garner is survived by a daughter, Sherry Harris of Dresden; two sons, Leonard Lee Lovelace of York, Pennsylvania, and David Taylor Lovelace of Dresden; a sister, Sue Rice of Union City; a brother, Bill Taylor of Dresden; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lee Nell Kirkland
Mrs. Lee Nell Kirkland, 91, of Union City, died Sunday, August 19, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Funeral services for Mrs. Kirkland were held Tuesday, August 21, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at White Ranson Funeral Home Chapel in Union City. Burial followed in East View Cemetery in Union City. Mrs. Kirkland was former part owner of the Kirkland Clothing Store. She was also a member of the Martin Church of Christ, the Union City Book Review Club, and Poplar Meadows Country Club. Mrs. Kirkland was preceded in death by her parents, William Ely Kelley and Bessie Mae Puckett. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kirkland was also preceded in death by husbands, Luke Hannings, and Carlyle Kirkland. Mrs. Kirkland is survived by four sons, Kenneth W. "Kenn" Kirkland of Union City, Carl Turner Kirkland of Jackson, Tennessee, John Richard Kirkland of Jackson, Tennessee, and William Russell Kirkland of Jackson, Tennessee.

Albert Lewis Ramsey
Albert Lewis Ramsey, 64, of Sharon, died Thursday, August 16, 2001, at Methodist Volunteer Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Ramsey were held Saturday, August 18, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in Sharon. Burial followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sidonia. Bro. Barry Capps officiated the services. Mr. Ramsey was a Truck Driver. He was a Baptist by faith and a Mason. Mr. Ramsey was born July 5, 1937 in Weakley County to the late John Ramsey and Dorothy McBride. Mr. Ramsey is survived by his wife, Jeanette McCollum Ramsey; three sons, David Ramsey of Sharon, Danny Ramsey of Sharon, and Jerry Ramsey of Martin; a sister, Florence Smith of Union City; and six grandchildren.

Henry Fields "Bub" Parks
Henry Fields "Bub" Parks, 87, of Gleason, died Sunday, August 12, 2001, at McKenzie Health Care Center. Funeral services for Mr. Parks were held Wednesday, August 15, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel in Gleason. Burial followed in Hopewell Cemetery. Rev. Mike Walker officiated the services. Mr. Parks was a Retired Safety Director for Zenith Radio, as well as a member of Gleason Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was born January 22, 1914 in Gleason to the late Willie and Era Larkin Parks. Mr. Parks is survived by his wife, Wanda Smith Parks; and a niece, Janice Trimn of Union City.

Mary L. Moubray
Mary L. Moubray, 84, of Greenfield, died Sunday, August 19, 2001, at Martin Health Care Center. Funeral services for Ms. Moubray will be held today, Wednesday, August 22, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, also located in Greenfield. Keith Pence will officiate the services. Ms. Moubray was born September 3, 1916 in Trezevant, Tennessee to the late Carl Walker and Grace Wallace. Ms. Moubray is survived by two sons, Bobbie Morris of Greenfield, and Gerald Morris of Greenfield; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ruby Taylor Goolsby
Mrs. Ruby Taylor Goolsby, 82, of Martin, died Monday, August 20, 2001, at Methodist Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Goolsby were held Wednesday, August 22, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in East Side Cemetery, also located in Martin. Rev. Roger S. Oldham officiated the services. Mrs. Goolsby was Retired from Martin Manufacturing Company, as well as a member of First Baptist Church in Martin. She attended Gardner School. Mrs. Goolsby was born April 15, 1919 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Elmus Cletty Taylor and Lela Mae Weeks. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goolsby was also preceded in death by her husband, Vester Goolsby. Mrs. Goolsby is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Willie Lee Rogers
Mr. Willie Lee Rogers, 67, of Palmersville, died Saturday, August 18, 2001, at Methodist Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Graveside services for Mr. Rogers were held Tuesday, August 21, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Rev. Jim Calhoun officiated the services. Mr. Rogers was Retired from General Motors Corp. and a Methodist by Faith. He was born in Finley, Tennessee. Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his father, Willie Rodgers. Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Mrs. Patricia Jackanicz Rogers of Palmersville; a daughter, Ginger Rogers Cotton of Nashville, Tennessee; two sons, Darrell Rogers of Dresden, Wade Rogers of Hazel Park, Michigan; his mother, Mary Fortner Rodgers of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters, Linda Kosary of Chicago, Illinois, and Joyce Kudla of Chicago, Illinois; a brother, Jimmy Rogers of Chicago, Illinois; and seven grandchildren.

Robert Charles Williams Sr.
Robert Williams, 82, of Dover died Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at Alterra Sterling House in Clarksville. He was born on January 26, 1920 in Stewart County, the son of the late Robert and Ruby Coppedge Williams. Mr. Williams was a retired vocational agriculture teacher at Stewart County High School where he taught for 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Williams; two sons, Bob Williams and wife, Tina, of Greenfield, and Dr. David Williams and wife, Carol, of Clarksville; a sister, Marie Mitchell of Nashville; and five grandchildren, Ann Marie and Caz Williams of Greenfield, Lauren, Andrew and Abby Williams of Clarksville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stewart County High School Future Farmers of America.

Charles S. Stafford
Charles S. Stafford, 78, of Greenfield, died Friday, April 26, 2002, at Methodist Volunteer General Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mr. Stafford were held Sunday, April 28, 2002, at 3:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial followed in Meridian Cemetery, also located in Greenfield. Bro. Phil Mitchell officiated the services. Mr. Stafford was a Farmer. He was born October 31, 1923 in Greenfield to the late Sam E. Stafford and Norene Neil Stafford. Mr. Stafford is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Brasfield of Greenfield, and Margaret Williams of Greenfield; and two brothers, Dean Stafford of Greenfield, and Ralph Stafford of Greenfield.

Hobert Lee Jenkins
Hobert Lee Jenkins, 88, of Greenfield, died Monday, April 22, 2002, at the V.A. Hospital in Memphis. Funeral services for Mr. Jenkins were held Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial followed in Meridian Cemetery, also located in Greenfield. Bro. Billy Garner officiated the services. Mr. Jenkins was a Farmer, as well as a Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces. He was born July 13, 1913 in Greenfield. Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, Ethel Jenkins of Greenfield; two sons, Junior Jenkins of Greenfield, and David Jenkins of Greenfield; three daughters, Mary L. Cummings of Greenfield, Helen Nash of Texas, and Annie Sue Peevyhouse of Greenfield; a sister, Dot Gant of Lansing, Michigan; twenty grandchildren; and thirty-one great-grandchildren.

Tennie Sue King
Tennie Sue King, 63, of Bradford, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at Methodist LeBonheur Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services for Mrs. King were held Friday, April 26, 2002, at 12:00 noon at Hunt Funeral Home. Burial followed in Pounds-Idlewild Cemetery. Rev. Doug Powell officiated the services. Mrs. King was a Homemaker. She was born September 17, 1938 in Idlewild, Tennessee to the late Curry Rinks and Lilly James. In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was also preceded in death by her husband, L.H. King. Mrs. King is survived by two daughters, Lisa Jones of Bradford, and Renee Ricketts of Bradford; three sons, Scott King of Greenfield, Lynn King of Trenton, and Stephen King of Greenfield; three brothers, Leroy Rinks of Memphis, Lonnie Rinks of Bradford, and Hubert Rinks of Bradford; seventeen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Jessie Marie McIntyre, 89, of South Fulton, died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Methodist Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. McIntyre were held Saturday, April 27, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in Walnut Grove Cemetery in South Fulton. Bro. Eddie Cassetty officiated the services. Mrs. McIntyre was a Bookkeeper for Yates & Sons Trucking Co. in Fulton, Kentucky, as well as a member of Walnut Grove Methodist Church in South Fulton. She was born July 15, 1912 in Madison County to the late J.T. Rice and Mary Rowlett. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McIntyre was also preceded in death by her husband, Dick McIntyre; a brother, Leon Rice; and a sister, Mattie Rice. Mrs. McIntyre is survived by a son, Larry McIntyre of Martin; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Floyd Guillory
Mr. Floyd Guillory, 75, of Dresden, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis. Funeral services for Mr. Guillory were held Friday, April 26, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Pine Prairie, Louisiana. Burial followed in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, also located in Pine Prairie. Mr. Guillory was Retired from the U.S. Army as well as a Restaurant Manager. He was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, as well as a member of the V.F.W. Post 02130 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Mr. Guillory was born in Vidrine, Louisiana to the late Ourelie and Pearl Gautreaux Guillory. Mr. Guillory is survived by two daughters, Paula Breaux of Dresden, and Dianah Guillory of South Fulton; two stepdaughters, Marlene Rosner of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Kay Devall of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two sons, Kenneth Guillory of Sulphur, Louisiana, and David Guillory of Lake Charles, Louisiana; a stepson, Kim Carson of Milan, Tennessee; a sister, Ilanton West of Lake Charles, Louisiana; a brother, Q.L. Guillory of DeRidder, Louisiana; and eleven grandchildren, local grandchildren being Brandon and Dianah Breaux of Dresden, and Benjamin Guillory of South Fulton.

Olan Reaves Long, Jr.
Olan Reaves Long, Jr., 56, of Dresden, died Thursday, April 25, 2002 at Methodist Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Graveside services for Mr. Long will be held today, Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at Farmington Cemetery. Rev. Harry Yates will officiate the service. Mr. Long was Retired from TVA in Martin and a member of First United Methodist Church in Martin. He was also a member of I.B.E.W. #1925 in Martin. Mr. Long was preceded in death by his wife, Pamelia Pigg Long; and his father, Olan R. Long, Sr. Mr. Long is survived by three sons, Olan R. "Trey" Long III of Jackson, Tennessee, Matt Long of Jackson, Tennessee, and Ryan Long of Nashville, Tennessee; a stepdaughter, Jessica Robyn Stanley of Paducah, Kentucky; and his mother, Bernice Long of Martin.

Martha Jeannette Ridgeway
Martha Jeannette Ridgeway, 83, of Sharon, died Monday, April 22, 2002, at Martin Health Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Ridgeway were held Friday, April 26, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel in Sharon. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, also located in Sharon. Bro. Dewayne Thomas officiated the services. Mrs. Ridgeway was a Homemaker, as well as a member of Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was born October 1, 1918 in Weakley County to the late Turley Priestley and Maurine Lee. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ridgeway was also preceded in death by her husband, Ted Ridgeway. Mrs. Ridgeway is survived by a son, David Ridgeway of Hoover, Alambama; a daughter, Ruth Adams of Sharon; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jimmy Dale Reynolds
Jimmy Dale Reynolds, 52, of Gleason, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Reynolds were held Saturday, July 27, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. at Beech Springs Baptist Church. Burial followed in Beech Springs Cemetery. Rev. Bob Copeland officiated the services. Mr. Reynolds worked for CSI - Heat Treatment, and attended Beech Springs Baptist Church. He was born March 29, 1950 in Milan. Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Lee Reynolds; and a sister, Linda Fay Morris. Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife, Sharle Ann Breitkreutz Reynolds; a daughter, Gloria Ann Reynolds of Gleason; his parents, Emmitt A. Reynolds and Pauline Culver Reynolds of Gleason; a brother, Roger Reynolds of Sharon; and a sister, Vicky Babb of Gleason.

Loyd Lee Stout
Loyd Lee Stout, 80, of Greenfield, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at Gibson General Hospital in Trenton. Funeral services for Mr. Stout were held Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial followed in Morris Cemetery, also located in Greenfield. Bro. Phil Mitchell officiated the services. Mr. Stout was a Farmer and Mechanic, as well as a Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces. He was born April 6, 1922 in Greenfield to the late Robert Lee Stout and Thelma Boyd. Mr. Stout is survived by his wife, Toye Sue Nell Stout of Greenfield; a son, William Stout of Greenfield; two daughters, Brenda Davis of Beldin, Michigan, and Cathy Pentecost of Greenfield; and a brother, Charlie Stout of Greenfield.
