Morris Smith, 61, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 at Methodist Healthcare-Dyersburg.
He was owner of Edutech Inc., attended St. Mary's Episcopal Church, was a member of Dyersburg Kiwanis Club, Dyersburg Moose Lodge, committee member with JTPA, and former manager and coach with Clarksville Babe Ruth Baseball League.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Porter and the Rev. Nancy Brown officiating. Graveside committal services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville with the Rev. Nancy Brown and the Rev. Neal Chatham officiating.

Isaac P. Morris, 69, of Gleason, formerly of Dyersburg, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 at Methodist Healthcare in Martin.
He was a retired police officer for Greenfield Police Department and Martin Police Department and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Morris and the Rev. Gene Gallimore officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Carrie May Jones, 84, of Somerville, formerly of Friendship, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002.
She was a retired home-demonstration agent in Fayette County.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at Somerville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Walter German officiating. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at International Gospel Temple Church in Dyersburg with Elder William Holder officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dyersburg.

She was a retired teacher for Dyer County School System, the oldest member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church and a member of Retired Teacher's Association.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Tilley officiating. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors at 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Evelyn Brown, 85, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, October 5, 2002 at Baptist Hospital-Lauderdale in Ripley.
She was a homemaker and a member of Fowlkes Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Fowlkes Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Ashley and the Rev. Ricky Ray officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Survivors include two sisters, Willodean Holmes of Friendship and Dorothy Williams of Friendship; and a brother, Clinton Tull of Friendship.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Brown; her parents, Boss T. and Ora Dillon Tull; and two brothers, Cecil Tull and Roy Tull.

Pallbearers will be Larry Fowlkes, Buck Porch, Junior Binkley, James Motley, Ronnie Shaw, Bobby Lambert and Herman Hunter.

She retired after 35 years in the alterations department at Schlesingers and was a member of First Baptist Church in Dyersburg.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home in Dyersburg with the Rev. Raymond Boston officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Robert Erwin "Doc" Bryant

Robert Erwin "Doc" Bryant, 80, of Tiptonville, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Methodist Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital.
He retired from his optometry profession in 1993 after 50 years of practice in Tiptonville. Before beginning his practice, he served in the U.S. Army after being drafted in 1943. He served his country as an ambulance driver, engineer and foot soldier. He began his European tour of duty in 1945 and remained there to the end of World War II.

He was a graduate of Tiptonville High School and the Southern College of Optometry at Memphis. He was the past president of the West Tennessee Optometric Association and a long-time member of the Tennessee Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association and the Tennessee Optometric Academy.

He was also past president of the Tiptonville Kiwanis Club and a member of West Plains Primitive Baptist Church in Milan.

He was born June 16, 1922, in Milan to the late B.D. and Eulah Cunningham Bryant, who moved the family to Tiptonville in 1927.

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Tiptonville First United Methodist Church with Bro. Ralph Gunter and Bro. T.L. Webb officiating. Burial will be in Tiptonville City Cemetery in Tiptonville. J.W. Curry and Son Funeral Home in Tiptonville is in charge of arrangements.

He was vice president of Applied Materials.

He was a retired chief for Medical Administration Services of the Veterans' Administration and an Air Force veteran after 24 years of service.

Graveside services were at 11 a.m. today in Rosehill Cemetery in Obion with the Rev. Jim Wolfgang officiating. Cryer Funeral Home in Obion was in charge of arrangements.

Services were held Oct. 12 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Jones officiating. Burial was in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely.
