N.C. Stevens, 89, of Bonicord, died Friday at Methodist Healthcare -- Dyersburg Hospital.
He was a retired sanitation worker for the city of Dyersburg and a member of the Pentecostal church.

Services are at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Drumwright officiating. Burial will be in Bellevernon Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Billy Stevens and wife Mary of Bonicord; three grandchildren Angela Stevens Wilson, Dewayne Stevens and Tracy Stevens Purvis; and three great-grandchildren, Allison Purvis, Austin Purvis and Adam Purvis.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Cordia Bell Douglas, three brothers, J.T. Stevens, Harry Stevens and Arlie Stevens and a grandson, Bryan Keith Stevens.

Pallbearers will be Harvey Yants, M.D. Hall, Ralph Marbrey, Johnny Marbrey, Brian Lovell and Stephen Leake.

Survivors include her husband, Eric Torrence of Dyersburg; three sons, Christopher Clemmons, Shawn Torrence and Timothy Torrence, all of Dyersburg; her mother, Faye Rushing of Newbern; four sisters, Jennifer Adair and Laura Henson, both of Dyersburg, and Melissa Chandler and Gena Thompson, both of Newbern; a brother, Keith Qualls; and her companion, Darren Sparks of Dyersburg. She was preceded in death by her father, J.R. Ingram. Pallbearers will be Mike Adair, Chris Chandler, Josh Markham, David Asher, Marvin Lawrence and Daryl Benthal.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville with the Rev. Ralph Gunter and Dr. Jimmy Bedwell officiating. Burial will be in Bell Vernon Cemetery in Friendship. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors beginning at 5 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville. Survivors include his wife, Imogene Bedwell; two daughters, Sara Smith of Cordova and Pattye Starrett of Lakeland; two sons, Dr. Jimmy Bedwell of Pinson and Terry Bedwell of Bainbridge, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Janice  Jones of Meridian, Miss.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dr. Sonny Jones, Don Smith, Marty Starrett, Scott Layman, Mark Bedwell, Alton Vandyke, Trice Griggs and Chad Hearn.
