Kitty Robertson
TRENTON-Services for Miss Kitty Robertson, 100, were held May 29 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Humboldt. Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home was in charge. She died at her home in Trenton. She spent her life teaching in Gibson County schools and as a Sunday School teacher Oak Grove UMC.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Alice Mitchell; brothers, Russell Robertson and Jack Robertson; her nephews, James Robertson Mitchell, M.S. Bub Mitchell and Billy Robertson and a niece, Helen Mitchell Williams.
Survivors include nieces, Martha Emily and Tommy Mills of Jackson, Peggy and Gene Cormier of Texas, Mary Ann and Carl Harlan of Ohio, Betty Robertson (Billy) of Nashville and Mary Mitchell (Bub) of Trenton; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and even great great great nieces and nephews, and her dearest and best friend, Willeace Cooper of Nashville. Kitty had "angels" that took care of her, and because of them, she was able to spend her last years comfortably at home. They are Evelyn McCord and Nannie Jane Hopper of Humboldt, Sarah Truell of Milan, Joy Koffman of Trenton, Velma Malone of Gibson, Jewell Hensley of Brazil and others.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice.

Cathy Bradbury
MEDINA-Services for Cathy Lynn Studards Bradbury, 39, were Sat. June 5, at Medina First Baptist Church. Burial was in Centerville Cemetery with Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home in charge. Cathy passed away Tuesday, June 2 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was a 1982 graduate of Gibson County High School and a 1987 graduate of Union University. She was a former employee of Devilbiss Air Power, a faithful and active member of Medina First Baptist Church where she was a member of the adult choir, taught the Preschool Sunday School class for 20 years, and most recently taught the Young Adult Sunday School class with her husband. Cathy was a member of the First Baptist musical ensemble "His Sound" for 20 years. Throughout her illness, Cathy was a dedicated supporter of the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 15 years, Alan Dean Bradbury and daughters, Maigan Suzanne Bradbury and Mollie Ann Bradbury of Medina; her mother, Ann Studards of Medina; sisters, Teresa Oakley of Medina and Sonya Pettigrew of Jackson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joel and Edna Bradbury of Medina; and sister-in-law, Jill Bradbury of Memphis. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Charles Studards.
Pallbearers were Dennis Parrett, Herb Owrey, Jimmy Wilson, Michael Murphree and Jeff Graves. Members of the Young Adult Sunday School Class were asked to sit together as a group.
Memorials may be made to Medina First Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.

Myrtie Wood
MILAN-Services for Mrs. Myrtie Stanford Wood, 90, were held Saturday at Bodkin Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Denning officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Wood, a homemaker, died Thursday, June 3, at Milan General Hospital. She was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, the WMU, the A.B.C.’s, and formerly served as a Sunday School teacher.
Known for her wit and humor, her personality radiated with her love for life. She was also known for her spunk and courage. She rode a 4-wheeler the first time in her life about a year ago.
She was field supervisor at Denton Fly’s Green Acres Farm for many years, known as the smiling ‘straw boss’. Employees loved her for her gentle firmness and readymade smile. She won their respect as "Miss Myrtie".
After leaving the farm and moving to town on Liberty Street, she kept her yard aglow with blooming flowers and plants. She was an avid gardener.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Milton Wood of 53 years, and Byron Branson of 3 years.
Surviving are a son, Stan (Jo Anne) Wood and three daughters, Martha (Ed) Orman, Patsy (Jim) Mittlestaedt and Dora Knott, all of Milan; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lee Hayes, Jim Pirtle, Greg Orman, David Orman, Jason Ricketts, Jamye Orman.
The family requests memorials be directed to the Chapel Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.

George Jones
ATWOOD-George Thomas Jones, 88, retired carpenter, died Monday at Milan General Hospital. Services were Wednesday at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Jones, the widower of Bessie Irene Patterson Jones, leaves a son, Bill Jones of Milan; a sister, LoBelle Spain of Indiana; a grandson, Jason Jones of Newbern and three great-grandchildren, Keely Criswell, Jon-Michael Robinson and Paige Robinson, all of Newbern. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Adams.

Betty Bost
JEFFERSON CITY, TN-Betty Sue Bost, 63, office administrator, died July 17, at her home. Services were July 22, at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial in Pisgah Cemetery. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Humboldt. Mrs. Bost, the widow of William Larry Bost, leaves two sons, Larry Bost of Ill. and Bruce Bost of Rutledge; four daughters, Jane Weller of Ill., Jeri Overman of Ind., Cathy McDougal of Ill. and Tina Gabbard of Ind.; a brother, John Riley Hinson of Hohenwald; four sisters, Beulah Hinson of Hohenwald, Belle Hinson of Humboldt, Bessie Kyle of Cedar Grove, Bertha Hinson of Humboldt, and three granddaughters. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Luther Edmundson
MILAN-Luther Paul Edmundson, 95, retired farmer, died Friday at Milan General Hospital. Services were Sunday at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Dyer. He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. Mr. Edmundson, the husband of Avadean Milliken Edmundson, also leaves a son, Jerry Edmundson and wife Pat of Dyersburg; a daughter, Judy Burrow and husband Sammy of Milan; four grandchildren, Ron Burrow of Milan, Deana Alexander of Medina, Mark Edmundson of Dyerburg and David Edmundson of Virginia; and two great-grandchildren, Abby Alexander and Anna Alexander.

Edward Sharp
TRIMBLE-Edward Ray Sharp, 79, retired factory employee of Colonial Rubber, died Sunday at Oakwood Manor in Dyersburg. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home with burial in Pierce Cemetery in Trimble. He was a member of Evansville Free Holiness Church. Mr. Sharp, the husband of Agnes Sharp, also leaves two daughters, Reba Anderson of Dyersburg and Barbara Quillen of Milan, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Paul Martin
BRADFORD-Paul Samuel (Sam) Martin, owner of Martin Motors, died July 18. Sam was born on January 7, 1949 in Greenfield. He made his home in Bradford since 1982. He was educated in the Greenfield School System and was a member of Greenfield First Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Johnson Martin. He leaves his fiance and best friend, Wendy Richardson and their twin daughters, Natalie and Morgan Martin; his mother, Anna Martin; two sisters, Debra Edwards and Martha Martin and two brothers, Steve and John Martin. Service were Wednesday at Hunt Funeral Home with burial in Bradford Cemetery.

Oneida Merritt
NESBIT-Oneida Doyle Merritt, 82, former co-owner of Merritt Auto Supply, died Monday at Regional Medical Center in Memphis. Services were Friday at Briarwood Baptist Church in Cordova, where she was a member, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery South. Mrs. Merritt, the wife of Rhesa Merritt for 62 years, also leaves two daughters, Linda Reese of Land O’Lakes, FL and Sandy Merritt of Horn Lake; a son, Wayne Merritt of Southaven; a sister, Irene Oliver of Humbolt; six grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Merritt grew up in the Idlewild community. Her daughter-in-law, Sandra Merritt, also died of injuries from the wreck. The family requests any memorials be sent to Briarwood Baptist Church.

DRESDEN-Heather Leigh Thomas, 24, pharmacy technician, died August 15, at Volunteer General Hospital in Martin. Services were August 18, at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden with Bro. Vernon Smith officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Heather was born in Trenton on November 9, 1979 to Richard L. and Linda J. (Brown) Thomas. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Dresden. Miss Thomas leaves her parents; her grandparents, Charlie E. Brown and B. Louise Brown of Milan; two uncles, Wayne D. Brown and family of VA and Charlie L. Brown and family of Greenbrier, TN; a brother, Dr. L. Steven Thomas of Knoxville and her fiance, Kyle McAlpin of Mayfield, KY.

Alliene Cunningham
HUMBOLDT-Funeral services for Alliene Smith Gowan Cunningham, 88, were Thursday, September 2, at Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home in Medina. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery. Mrs. Cunningham died Tuesday, August 31, at Chester County Health Care in Henderson. She was born in the Spring Creek Community of Madison County. She was a graduate of the 1933 class of Spring Creek High School. Mrs. Cunningham was a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #261 of Milan, and Antioch Baptist Church. She was a production worker at Milan Army Ammunition Plant for 5 years. Her first husband was James Coy Gowan, deceased. She married James Thomas Cunningham in 1964 and he died in 1988. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Gowan Trice and husband Bill of Henderson; a son, Robert Glenn Gowan and wife Barbara of Jackson; a step-daughter, Janie Hughes of Beech Bluff; a daughter-in-law, Patsy King Cunningham of Lavinia and several grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers were Rege Luckey, J.H. Luckey, Joe Luckey Jr., Buck Turner, Ted Jones, Eric Burt, Keith Burt and Britt Burt. Any memorials may be directed to Antioch Baptist Church or Antioch Cemetery Fund, 425 Antioch Road, Humboldt, TN 38343.
